Team RH - is this ethical?

Glowingup · 31/07/2026 08:49

Disclaimer: I hate Richie from Team RH and think he’s generally an awful person as well as being a massive grifter. His latest is that he claims that he will be offering Mounjaro pens to members of Team RH at cost price (this must be through some sort of partnership with a pharmacy but he hasn’t said this). You can only get them at this cost though if you sign up to his monthly plan (the one you can’t cancel without him sending debt collectors). How is this remotely ethical? Surely Mounjaro needs to be prescribed by a pharmacist or doctor? How can he be the gatekeeper for this? Say I sign up to his club and want the pen? Can I cancel if the pharmacist declines to prescribe it? Will he be putting pressure on the partner pharmacy to prescribe to people who might not be suitable so that he can get his members?

Sorry for the rant. He just pisses me off and I don’t think that he should be flogging prescription drugs at cost price that he doesn’t know much about. He takes them himself and claims that his BMI is over 30 due to muscle but I doubt that.

Wow that sounds well dodgy.

SilenceInside · 31/07/2026 08:51

If he is specifically mentioning Mounjaro then advertising a specific prescription medication is against the law. And yes, medication would still need to be prescribed and he would need a qualified pharmacist to do that. So probably illegal on both those grounds.

BoatHome · 31/07/2026 08:52

Anyone that hands that guy money is a bloody idiot and needs to wake up.m

He spent years claiming all anyone needed was his plan. He slagged WLIs off.

Until he realised he could make money on them.

He never had anyone’s back. He’s not a genuine guy, as his followers put it. The way he’s treated members and staff is disgusting. There’s plenty evidence of it. There’s threads and threads of screenshots and poor behaviour on other sites.

“but he’s got a no-bullshit approach”

He IS the bullshitter.

SilenceInside · 31/07/2026 08:54

You can report to the ASA and the MHRA with details of what you’ve seen and what was offered.

ItsStillWork · 31/07/2026 08:57

I don’t think he does take them himself, I’ve never seen him mention that he does.

i did watch one of his videos on it and he said he’s got a registered prescriber prescribing it but it wouldn’t be any cheaper than getting it from another pharmacy.

not sure how that would work if you paid for his yearly membership and then got refused the WLI

BloodyHellBob · 31/07/2026 08:58

I initially signed up to register my interest but he doesn’t seem to be divulging any details at the moment, just that he’s trying to get some GLP1s at cost price for members.

I’ve done Team RH before and it works but by God it sucked the fun out of eating and I don’t like the way he really hectors people.

ItsStillWork · 31/07/2026 09:00

It’s the 10,000 steps a day that they say you have to do which is difficult, not many people do 10,000 steps a day, I think most people do 3,000 when I read a study on it

SilenceInside · 31/07/2026 09:02

Here is the most recent ASA ruling that was upheld against this company, there are two others linked at the bottom of the page:

Definitely mentioning Mounjaro. He’s done a video holding one of the pens in his hand

i do hope it’s illegal and he is forced to stop this

@Glowingup only if people report it to the relevant authorities.

Agree. He is awful and disgustingly disrespectful and misogynistic.

I am going to do this. I don’t even care if he’s got a legitimate partnership with a prescriber because the way he is advertising this is so out of line. “I will get you the pen at cost price if you sign up to my plan”. Pretty sure you can’t do stuff like that with medication.

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 31/07/2026 09:06

I should imagine he thinks he’s being clever by not naming the medication and covering up the label on the pen.

Yes presumably 😩 I think in one of the videos he boasted of 150,000 new members on his GLP1 plan. He is taking it in and I’m guessing he will get loads of people signing up for this. I don’t know what the Mounjaro cost price is but given how expensive it is now, it will possibly be the cheapest on the market.

That's ridiculous. It's really not hard to make 10000 steps a day unless you have mobility issues.

Backedoffhackedoff · 31/07/2026 09:13

I do think the fitness grifters (the ones who had a USP like being a cunt) are struggling in the face of WLI and have decided if you can’t beat them join them.
Their advice has pivoted to what else you should do whilst on WLI (mainly very basic advice about protein and strength training, something that adds very little value to their brand)

he can’t sell on licensed medication so he should be reported d

BoatHome · 31/07/2026 09:39

@ItsStillWork hes definitely claimed he’s taken it , he was trying to prove some point. Bizarrely.

People need to give their heads a wobble if they want to hand over money to a man who deep down thinks everyone’s an idiot taking the injections but publicly pretends he’s supportive.

Yes I can’t find it now but he did a video a while ago where he was bragging that he was “juicy as fuck” meaning he was apparently so muscular that he had a high BMI and qualified for the injections. I don’t think he actually is above 30 BMI but even if it was true, he was abusing the injections because he doesn’t have excess body fat.

And yes he has zero respect for those taking them. He did loads of nasty posts about lazy people taking them because they were fat fucks who couldn’t be arsed to exercise.

Apparently Medicine Marketplace sell mounjaro pens for only a few quid over cost price without this fella, who I've fortunately never heard of.

I've registered my interest. I've been on mj since March 2025 and have lost 6 stone. I'm now transitioning to maintenance and reckon I'll stay on the medication for at least a year. I'll happily switch to team rh if he'll prescribe it for me. Whatever you think of him I'd bet my life that this is 100% legit. He's a crazy perfectionist and would have fully researched the legal side of it.

YoQuieroVino · 31/07/2026 18:37

Surely he’s admitting that his plan doesn’t actually work, then?

Its 5 miles. That would take me nearly 2 hours

Most people count their steps as pottering around the office or home. They are not really countable steps in my view.

Bearssaidhearegenerallyverywelldressed · 31/07/2026 18:51

Hopefully this won't out me, it shouldn't do, but I reported his ad on tiktok and tiktok have actually removed his ad/ad account. Says it goes against advertising rules etc... I can provide evidence.

I can't understand how a PT/PT company, even if they are working with a pharmacy can advertise weight loss medication, well clearly they can't!
