Team RH - is this ethical?

Glowingup · 31/07/2026 08:49

Disclaimer: I hate Richie from Team RH and think he’s generally an awful person as well as being a massive grifter. His latest is that he claims that he will be offering Mounjaro pens to members of Team RH at cost price (this must be through some sort of partnership with a pharmacy but he hasn’t said this). You can only get them at this cost though if you sign up to his monthly plan (the one you can’t cancel without him sending debt collectors). How is this remotely ethical? Surely Mounjaro needs to be prescribed by a pharmacist or doctor? How can he be the gatekeeper for this? Say I sign up to his club and want the pen? Can I cancel if the pharmacist declines to prescribe it? Will he be putting pressure on the partner pharmacy to prescribe to people who might not be suitable so that he can get his members?

Sorry for the rant. He just pisses me off and I don’t think that he should be flogging prescription drugs at cost price that he doesn’t know much about. He takes them himself and claims that his BMI is over 30 due to muscle but I doubt that.

You mates with Ritchie? What a nasty response just because someone doesn’t share your view.

Regardless of how the science works, I don’t think its a good idea. “Melting fat” is a metaphor for quick weight loss which can lead to bone and muscle loss.

Unless habits are changed surely the weight will be regained when the injections are stopped. There’s no easy fix.

But this is my opinion. Feel free to throw some more nasty slur my way simply because I don’t agree with you.

You were so wrong though. There is so much more to WLI and none of it is about melting fat. Rapid weight loss is discouraged on them. The jabs are hormones working to rebalance the chemistry in the person taking them.

Your opinion may be different but these are the facts!

MrsMiagi · 03/08/2026 21:56

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 nope. Can't stand the man.
Bone and muscle mass can be lost with every diet unfortunately. You do sound ridiculous when you say things like "regardless of how the science works.."
So the science facts dont matter to you? Yes with every diet you can regain weight if you go back to previous habits. Again, not specific to weight loss injections.
If you had commented about people misusing jabs to starve themselves thin thats different. But you are very wrong and obviously know very little especially as someone who doesn't follow the facts anyway. So as i said before, best not to comment!

Edited

I’m more than happy to listen to the facts. I’m happy to hear other viewpoints. I won’t call you ridiculous for having another view.

A quick google of the risks tells me even if you think I’m wrong my dislike of them is pretty well founded.

And going back to my original point I simply pointed out they weren’t for me and I have a pretty good reason why. If they work for others and they are happy to accept the risks then great. I see pictures of people who look absolutely fantastic post weight loss and I do agree that for some people the risks associated with WLI are likely to be far less than those associated with being obese.

ive had one friend who took them and the fat literally did just melt even if you’ll all lining up to tell me
thats not how it works 🤣

It literally didn't! That's not what literally means!

When I say regardless of how the science works I meant I don’t care if it melts your fat or curbs your appetite or however it works exactly, the point is I don’t think it’s good for you. And if you google the risks of WLI it may help you understand why I feel how I do.

I agree that muscle and bone loss can happen with any diet. But I think there are safer and more effective long term ways to lose weight.

Alright let’s just agree to say she lost a shit Ton of weight in a very short period of time!

SilenceInside · 03/08/2026 22:37

@winter8090 there really aren’t safer and more effective ways to lose weight. That’s why these medications have been developed and approved, because they produce weight loss consistently and better than other interventions including all the variations on eat less & move more. I’ve gone from 22st to 10st 11lbs with Mounjaro and it’s been amazing. I’ve never managed to lose that much weight before for the length of time I’ve been losing weight, which is just over two years now. Genuinely life changing.

Wonderful. And must have had such an impact on your health, which I'm sure we all agree is the main point of trying to get weight down.

Because there is a non medical cure for being overweight. A healthy diet and exercise.

The injections melt your fat. I’m not convinced they don’t melt your bones and muscle with it.

I have osteoporosis so that will affect how I see things.

Each to their own though. Just not for me.

There is no non-medical cure for obesity. Moving more and eating less does not work. It is a metabolic illness, resulting in a hormone imbalance. This is well documented in scientific papers.

Medical misinformation = metaphor.

Being called out on medical misinformation= nasty.

Right you are, bab.

I agree. There’s a lot of misinformed people out there who don’t seem to understand that it’s virtually impossible to attain and maintain a normal weight from a starting point of obesity. The 95%+ who regain all the weight they have lost do not do so because they are lazy.

Team RH is a prime example of someone who claims that it’s all about willpower. He has no genuine understanding of the science and also laughs at claims that the menopause has an impact on weight management. His stock response seems to be “youse are just fat fuckers” or something to that effect.

You can call someone out on what you consider to be medical misinformation by pointing out facts instead of throwing insults.

Ive been absolutely clear that in using the term “melting fat” that what I meant that people I know had lost weight at a very high rate. It was misinterpreted as me providing medical misinformation on how injections work scientifically which was not the case.

To be fair you only clarified what you personally meant by melting fat once you had been called out on it, and cited it as a reason you're anti WLI!

If there is no non medical cure how do many people lose weight without any medical intervention?

I follow many people on instagram that would be considered medically obese with BMI 30+ and have lost weight on a sensible calorie deficits while increasing activity.

So every single person who is obese has a metabolic illnessness or hormone imbalance? I’m pretty sure I have neither and just like good food too much!

Pharmacy’s are prescribing WLI. He does a fitness app. Both are legitimate services in their own right and theres nothing unethical about two businesses joining forces to give a combined service.
i don’t agree with WLI and I don’t like Ritchie.
His apps pretty good unfortunately,

I agree with this.
I did team RH using the app and lost 4 stone. The app is really good and easy to use.
People have got pissed off because they’ve entered into a contract then get annoyed when they can’t just cancel. That’s standard practise.
He’s brutally honest and whilst it’s harsh it’s true

Blogswife · Yesterday 20:56

He’s a vile individual who is rude about anyone who is overweight . He’s a complete hypocrite if he is selling / taking Mounjaro as in the past he’s slated people for this .- seems his plan can’t be that great if even the person who created it has to turn to weight loss injections !
