Coming to the end of month 2 for me, I've lost 1 stone 8lbs so far. First month 1.5mg, second 4mg. I still have a lot of weight to lose (in excess of 5 stone).

Been pretty lucky with side effects other than a bad headache day 1-2 on both doses and the constipation... fybogel has become a must have for me!

I am feeling a bit less suppression this week but keen to stay on 4mg as heard so many horror stories about 9mg. Will see how I go with losses this month.

Im 2 days into 9mg and Im constipated.

This is the only side effect Ive ever experienced and I dont understand why its happening so far into my treatment.
My stomach is making horrendous noises but I just cant go to the loo.

Any tips or ideas to help would be much appreciated 😕

Try some Organic Psyllium Husk Powder
, I ordered mine from Amazon but any health food store will sell it, it’s effective but doesn’t cause stomach cramps. You can also get inulin in powder or gummies , take it every evening, start with a low dose and increase if you need to. Check for any medical advice from your local pharmacy before taking anything just in case you have any pre existing health conditions or allergies that need to be considered before taking any supplements etc 😅

I’m the same , the suppression is still there but not as strong . I’m staying on the 4mg as long as I can .

Yes as @user1468915974 said, Movicol is what helped me too. I just thought I would have lost a few more pounds considering how long I was constipated for!

Quick update from me - this week marks week 12 and I’ve passed the 10kg mark!

SW 74kg
CW 63.9kg
loss/ 10kg or 1st 8lbs

Month 1 was 1.5mg and I’ve been on 4mg since. I’ve noticed a little food noise returning so I’ll keep an eye on it (not acting on it but it’s an awareness of “there’s a chocolate in the house, shall I eat it? Nah” whereas before I wouldn’t have really noticed it.

End of week two and a 2.4lb loss

pouletvous · 01/10/2026 14:58

I have lost 8 pounds since end of July. I am now on 9mg and only really starting to notice the difference in the last week. Some days i feel really full and bloated and cant bear to eat and other days ravenous.

But for the first 8 weeks, I didn’t feel any different at all.

I already eat a healthy and balanced diet but I eat far too much so trying to reduce portion sizes and the appetite suppression helps with that

seeyouyesterday · 07/10/2026 08:23

So just over a month in & I’ve lost 9lbs. I’ve stuck with 1.5mg for my 2nd month as I had bloating & constipation in first month & was a bit apprehensive going up to 4mg, however, I have no appetite suppression anymore! My appetite is now how it was before I started the tablets. I’m beginning to snack again. Wishing I started on the 4mg.

seeyouyesterday · 11/10/2026 09:00

Well I definitely have no appetite suppression now! I’m trying very hard to not put any of the weight back on, but DH came back from shopping yesterday & bought back some gingerbread men biscuits, my favourite!

I’m wondering, would it be ok to double up on the tablets, so I’d be taking 3mg? Has anyone done that?

seeyouyesterday · 11/10/2026 09:08

Just googled it & it’s not a good idea! I’ll stick to 1.5mg till end of this month, at least I know I’m ready for 4mg. And tell DH to not get any more gingerbread men!

hellomylov3 · 11/10/2026 09:28

I felt like that on the 1.5 too. The suppression started to tail off near the end. Also with the 4mg. However I'm on 9mg now and only taking it every second day as it's making me ill 🤢

seeyouyesterday · 11/10/2026 13:40

@hellomylov3 oh no, hope you don’t feel too ill, taking it every other day sounds like a good idea. I stuck with 1.5 for my 2nd month as I was too chicken to try 4mg because of the constipation I got in the first month. Now things have settled down I will definitely try 4mg next month. I suppose it’s one of those things though, where does it end, at some point will have to stop & I’m hoping, once I feel like I’m happy with where I’m at I can stop and I know the food noise will return but hopefully I’ll have trained myself to know I can eat better & healthier & I don’t need to snack!

hellomylov3 · 11/10/2026 14:48

@seeyouyesterday please keep us updated , I hopenthe 4mg goes well for you. Yes that is my dilemma too. I read something the other day that the effects stay in the system for 5-7 weeks after stopping. So appetite might still be supressed for up to two months after stopping. Then it is up to willpower really isn't it? Which is a scary prospect after having the tablet as a crutch for so long 🙈 It's the financial aspect for me - although I'm saving a fortune not shopping, it has stopped me from my shopaholic cravings too (both food and clothes) so it might actually be best for me to keep it going 🤣

MancMama45 · 12/10/2026 11:39

Week 11 for me, now 1 stone 10lbs down, but feeling a lot less suppression on 4mg. I think I'll have to try 9mg next month, depending on how losses go, they've definitely slowed down the last 2 weeks.

So frustrating that my old habits and food noise is there again at the back of my mind... but I guess that's where willpower has to come in when I do eventually taper off.

MabelsCat · 23/10/2026 14:21

Week 10, been on 4mg for 4 weeks.
starting weight 16 stone 4lb (how did that happen? 😢😩)
I’ve lost 16lb and 8 inches from my waist.
ive had very few side effects.
apart from loose stools if I eat something fried or very oily.
I made the mistake of eating feta whip dip on Wednesday & have heavily paid the price for 2 days 😩 hoping it will help the weight loss along though 🤣
so glad I started the tablets, I was so frightened due to health anxiety but knew I had to do something as the weight kept piling on due to sugar addiction & chronic illness.
I feel excited for the future first time in ages ☺️

So I’m just over 2 months in, currently on 4mg which is working well for me. I have lost a stone and the trajectory looks good 🙏🏻 no plans to increase the dose at the moment, I’m on my second box of 4mg. I’ve taken a day off here and there which doesn’t seem to have made any difference.

To update my previous post… am still on 4mg and now 1.5 stone down after three months. I’ve no plans to increase my dose at the moment - the weight loss is slow and steady which is what I wanted. 2.5 stone to go and feeling positive 😊
