One week in - I’ve lost 8 lbs!

I know most of it will be fluid - and I was unwell for a few days last week so had NO appetite at all - but I’m pleased with this.

if nothing else it’s making me feel like I am in control of my snacking. I’m not snacking ! Also have not had any alcohol either which is always my failure point.

Congratulations! Me too! 8lb exactly. I started on Monday and have just weighed in - I’m delighted. I have absolutely loads to lose though but I’m already feeling so much better. How have you found it? It really feels like a miracle drug!

WiseMoose · 16/08/2026 14:36

Well done running

I have had no side effects that I can see - other than I am not as regular with the bowel movements- although I have been eating less so??

My only thing is to try and get my tablet in first thing so that I can have breakfast before I go out to work.

Regarding the appetite suppression - I guess it is there - but I am a comfort eater and will eat even if not hungry so it's a little more difficult to control that.

Time will tell. My BMI is only about 26.5 (now) but I was just so fed up of fighting with the litlte bit of extra..

Onwards and upwards (downwards on the scale ) :)

ChantelleGarvey · 17/08/2026 23:51

I've done two weeks now on the 1.5mg, my eating hasn't been the best as we've been on holiday so I haven't been able to cook what I'd like to, but I've definitely eaten a lot less than usual - the only night I had a pudding with my meal it made me feel really hot and nauseous in the night Shock

I also did plenty of exercise - loads of walking, started C25K - but have only lost 1lb Sad I know this is just a loading dose and losing any weight on it is a bonus - but I really hoped to lose a little more!

Undecided really about sticking with 1.5mg (I've had no side effects to speak of) or trying a higher dose...

Hi

Can I join .

I started taking the pill I was 14 Stone 9lb . I want to lose another two more stone .

Iv cut out snacks , bread , pasta and crips . I’m eating lots of protein, and salads . Just being sensible .

I’m also drinking lots of sparkling water , and taking
psyllium husk and electrolytes in my water .

I also started the couch to 5k and on week 6. It’s not been easy

1st
SW- 205lbs
CW- 202lbs

MancMama45 · 18/08/2026 10:47

End Week 1 for me and 9lbs down, now -11 on Day 12... although I can feel food noise creeping back in. Wonder if this is a sign my body is now ready for 4mg?

Planning on going up to 4 when my next order is due first week of September.

Only had one minor day of gastro issues which I think was due to too much pomegranate lol. I have navigated days out and the pub without causing damage which I'm happy about. It does feel like this could work for me longer term. It's exciting and also very freeing to have my mind working with me not against me for a change.

WildImaginings · 18/08/2026 10:47

1 week in and I’ve lost 7lb!

Absolutely thrilled with that, I do have a very high starting weight though.

I’ve got a holiday towards the end of September, and I’d love to be in the 19 stone bracket for that.

SW 21st 5lb
CW 20st 12lb

HayleyBay · 19/08/2026 18:57

I’m feeling a bit disappointed at the end of week one. I’ve lost 3.3lbs. I’d just restarted Pilates a couple of weeks ago and began jogging again, but I broke a rib so now I can’t do much and I’m comfort/boredom eating again. Going to be gutted if I end up putting on weight instead!

WiseMoose · 20/08/2026 14:36

But you lost 3 lbs - which is better than gaining or staying the same.

Dont be disheartened it’s only week 1

HarpieDuJour · 20/08/2026 14:57

I've been on the Wegovy tablets for a while now, and moved up to the 4mg dose. I've lost about 1.5 stone so far, which is great, but the 4mg dose is giving me terrible dizziness. And with both doeses I've really struggled with the aftertase- it's really disgusting!
I'm thinking of switching to injections. I have no problem injecting myself and if I cana void that horrible taste then I will.

SssshButWeAllKnow · 22/08/2026 09:51

I’m going up to 4mg tomorrow. I actually doubled up the last 2 1.5 doses as was feeling no effect from them.

If the increase doesn’t work im
going back to the jabs- they were tremendously effective for me.

Imnotperfecteither · 22/08/2026 10:55

Started mid-July and moved up to 4mg 10 days ago. SW - 120kg
CW - 107.4kg
moved in to a new stone bracket so these are definitely working for me ☺️

onemorerose · 22/08/2026 14:22

I have been thinking of starting wegovy so reading with interest. I’m such a snacked and eat out of boredom, does it suppress that want? Also how does it mix with alcohol? Would love to achieve the losses some on here have had.

MabelsCat · 23/08/2026 13:10

I’m 47, about 5 stone over weight, in peri, chronic illness including a non functioning thyroid, find it difficult to move or exercise a lot.
Day 10, no side effects so far. I lost 4lb in my first week. Very happy with that. It’s so nice not to feel hungry & craving sugar all the time.
im looking forward to hopefully becoming slimmer & also hoping loosing weight will reduce my pain and fatigue.
very glad I battled through my health anxiety & took the tablet as I just couldn’t bring myself to inject the monjaro I ordered, still sat in the fridge 🤣

onemorerose · 23/08/2026 21:26

Just what I needed to hear @MabelsCat glad it’s going so well for you

LoopyGremlin · 23/08/2026 21:48

Well done @MabelsCat
i am starting on 0.5 this week after 4 weeks of 0.25.

Any tips on avoiding constipation? I’m usually okay - eating a predominantly wholefoods plant based diet - but I’m really suffering this past two weeks ,

Iv been taking psyllium husk before a meal and that seems to help

ChantelleGarvey · 24/08/2026 15:03

@MancMama45 I'm planning on going up to 4mg too from next week - not the best timing as it will coincide with the new school term (I work in a school!) but I'm definitely getting the food noise again. Plus my weight loss hasn't been great on the 1.5mg (2lb over 3 weeks) so I feel like it's worth trying something different!

@MabelsCat I couldn't face the injections either Grin I've had to inject myself before for other conditions, but a pill is much easier to store and manage!

Witchergeralt · 24/08/2026 15:20

My DD (33) had Mounjaro for a couple of months and then switched Wegovy then had horrendous gall stones, one got stuck in the bile duct and she went yellow. It did move itself after several trips to the hospital and now she needs gall bladder removal.

Just be aware the side effects can and do happen.

Thanks for the tip. I already put chia seeds and ground flaxseed in my oats but can try psyllium husk too.

im usually a twice a day person - so this is really quite unusual for me.

It’s not down to the medication, it’s down to the weight loss happening quite quickly.

I lost 9st by myself with calorie counting and working out and ended up with gallstones. Had my gallbladder removed 1 year ago, 2 months after diagnosis.

A tea spoon of magnesium citrate powder daily does it for me, I put it in my protein shake or smoothie

Yes, I know it's down to the quick weight loss but the very rapid weight loss was down to the Mounjaro/Wegovy so it's semantics really.
