Everyone welcome - we are all friends here.

Visited my parents on the weekend - I've lost 8 stone 13 at the moment and my mother weighs 9stone 1 so I had her jump on my back to feel the weight I've lost. I managed to lift one foot and shuffle forward an inch or two, but could not walk any real distance that way - and yet my poor ankles and knees used to have to carry that.

MCR24 · 03/08/2026 12:47

I think today is the first day I saw my legs in a reflection and thought 'oh they do look smaller'.

I'm the same as everyone else here, I definitely couldn't carry something that weighs what I've lost, it makes me sad I was carrying round so much extra for so long. I wish WLI had been an option when I was a lot younger.

I thought I'd lost weight this morning but I think I've misremembered and put some on again so my circle continues.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 03/08/2026 13:39

Wow @Theringcycle that's amazing! And real evidence of the magic working 😊.

And yes crazy to think we were carrying a whole extra person every single day. No wonder life was difficult. And "just walk its 10minutes" truly wasn't an equivalent task for us as for others. I'm trying to look back on myself with so much compassion to replace that "shame" narrative I had for so long. It really wasnt us was it.

I arrive home tonight and will weigh tomorrow. Trying not to attach too much to the number. I'm soooo much better at that over than last year as know to ride the waves but I'm not used to not weighing and although it started slowly going down again having had the really long stall I'm more aware of it and less chill than I had been!

I do know I've eaten differently etc... so will be okay whatever it is. Just sharing the nerves even if theyre not huge scary nevers like the first 6 months... theyre still there!

PearlsTeapot · 03/08/2026 14:12

@Theringcycle that's amazing news! The magic of mounjaro. Well done you, you must be overjoyed.

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden what will be will be, you know now you can just get back on it without too much hard work.

I’m back in the game, determined to get out of maintenance and back into weight loss. Weighing and tracking everything for a few weeks which I hate doing but I know will help. Also taking my Movicol every day to keep things moving again as soon as I stop I just stop going.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 04/08/2026 09:32

So I have a super weird NSV - I broke a chair and didn’t mind.

Out for dinner on holidays with the in laws and in the middle of the meal one of the chair legs just sheared away from the frame and deposited me on the floor.

If this had happened before I’d lost eight stone and change, I’d have been absolutely mortified. But this time I was not - it was definitely a fault in the chair, and no one was looking at me and judging me for being so huge I crushed a chair.

SW 144kg
CW 81kg
Goal 75kg

My weightloss has massively slowed down over the last couple of months. This is expected as I get closer to goal but now I have another 3 pens until my pre-price hike stock pile runs out, so I think it's time to start tapering down and potentially switch to WG pill. I have made my peace that I don't think I will get to my 75kg goal, at least not on the supply I have, and I don't want to buy anymore without the GD.

A question for those who have reached goal and how you have tapered down (if you have)? I have been jabbing 13mg every 5 days, and I'm tossing up between jabbing the same amount over a longer number of days, or keeping the 5 day schedule and lowering the dose. I have been reliant on the suppression this jab has been giving me, so I am highly nervous about experiencing hunger and how to manage it. A slow introduction to hunger again would be preferred!

TragicMuse · 04/08/2026 11:54

I’m away and not able to weigh at all. Partly concerned and partly not!

I’m not tracking at all, but my feelings of fullness are still holding steady, although the suppression is lessened with alcohol! And there is a fair amount of alcohol. And my clothes all still fit so that’s ok!

Overall I expect to have gained when I get home but I’m not too stressed, I’m on holiday and this is normal…

Fffreeeeezing · 05/08/2026 18:44

Isn't it weird when you realise someone you're talking to has a completely different perception of you than you know the reality to be, goodness does that even make sense?!

Was just chatting with someone and as we were talking about her new horse, I took the opportunity to ask her for recommendations for riding stables round here. I said it wouldn't be for a while though because I need to lose some more chunk before I get on a horse (don't want to break the poor animal obviously!)

I got a look of complete confusion from her because I'm 'tiny' now and anyway, most stables have a weight limit of 12.5st so it'd be fine.

I weigh 15st 4 🙄

I genuinely don't look particularly small, I'm pretty sure I look exactly how much I weigh (and a damn sight more when I look in the mirror myself) but I do find it fascinating that her perception was so inaccurate (this is someone who knew me pre MJ and I see every single week).

Anyway, I'm just rambling, apologies. I've had a nasty cold for the last week and for some reason it has sent my MJ suppression higher than it has been at any other point in this journey, I'm struggling to stomach anything and practically had to force feed myself dinner last night, it's a very odd feeling as I've never had this before. Not keen to be honest, 3/10, wouldn't recommend.

tescovaluebread · 05/08/2026 22:43

@Fffreeeeezing out of interest, is this person slim? The reason I ask is because I have noticed that someone who has never been a bigger size, doesn't actually know what weight looks like on people.

Fffreeeeezing · 05/08/2026 23:08

@tescovaluebreadyes she is, well deduced! And actually I think you have hit the nail on the head there, interesting

MCR24 · 06/08/2026 08:35

I think as people haven't weighed that much themselves they find it hard to know what weight actually looks like. Although even with the weights I've been I'm still rubbish at judging weights too! Although I'd rather say some one was under what they weighed than over!

Weigh in today there's finally some movement!

In June i put on 1.3kg in July I lost 1.3kg so the last 2 months have been hard! On the 31st may and 30th July I was 61.8.

Today I've had a whoosh and lost 1.1kg / 2 lb and 6.8 oz!

SW: 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.12 oz
CW: 60.7kg / 9 stone, 7 lb and 13.13 oz
Total loss: 82.1kg / 12 stone, 12 lb and 15.99 oz
To go: 0.7kg / 1 lb and 8.69 oz

Could could I be at target next week!?

PearlsTeapot · 06/08/2026 14:11

Fingers crossed for you @MCR24 hope you make it!

I took on board the positive and negative comments about Slimming World (thank you all for the posts and messages) and decided to go ahead and join. I went this morning and signed up for 12 weeks. It’s changed a lot since I last went 8 years ago. You can have avocado as a healthy extra now! I’m feeling optimistic that this might get things moving after being the same for six months. Off to the gym now to stop me snacking!

Blimey .. slimming world,gym ,jabs .
Your going for it pearl,in a big way ..
You will be a gym bunny in no time

Springflowers2 · 06/08/2026 19:13

People are odd ..the least interesting thing about me ,is my weight, and I've not lost any for a bit ..
But because they got used to me losing regularly, they keep telling me I am looking thinner
I'm not ..I'm still the same as last month
I'm really tired of talking about it with people..and tired of people trying to justify their own weight to me ..I don't care what they weigh.
I've started saying my scales are broken and I don't know what Ive lost .. because people are rude and think they have a right to know how much I've lost all together.
I just wish people would get on and accept my new weight as normal, and not keep harping on about it

PearlsTeapot · 06/08/2026 20:51

NSV alert!

I went on the rowing machine for a mile! It took 11 minutes. It’s been my goal for a year. When I first started going to the gym I could only do 30 seconds. I am proud of me!

5stone loss today on MJ, May and June scales didn’t seem to move but scales are moving again I’m so close to getting in the 12’stones which I can’t ever remember being probably since school and I’m 57 now!
I’m going to a wedding tomorrow and my dress is a size 14, the last wedding I went to I was wearing a size 24 and I can’t quite believe it.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/08/2026 12:00

Billybingbong · 07/08/2026 13:14

Ive been feeling a bit down in the dumps lately. The scales are up & down, work stress along with a couple of shitty family situations are all grinding me down a bit. So I decided to cheer myself up with a new progress picture, and I don't mind admitting, it's given me a well needed boost. Here's what 8st difference looks like ❤️

1st pic Apr 25 22st 8lb,
2nd pic today 14st 5lb

PearlsTeapot · 07/08/2026 14:04

Woweeee @Billybingbong you're a whole different person now! How do you feel?

Fffreeeeezing · 07/08/2026 14:12

You know when you see someone post a before and 'after' and quite honestly you need to squint a bit to see the difference, in fact sometimes it's not actually clear which is the before, but obviously you don't say it out loud (and I hasten to add it's never on this thread!)

Well I most definitely don't need to squint at your pics @Billybingbong, there's not a shred of doubt as to how much of an astounding thing you've done here, you look half the equally amazing woman you once were.

Glad it's given you the boost you needed x

newtothegreen · 07/08/2026 16:52

@Billybingbong wowwwwww!! You look AMAZING!!

52soon · 07/08/2026 16:59

@Billybingbong what a difference, you look amazing, 8 stone is fantastic achievement and a well deserved boost

I got a job! I’m going back to work!

In a garden centre. A year ago I wouldn’t have been able to manage being on my feet for a whole shift. I’m excited! Start next week! And the uniform will fit me.
