Oh congratulations @PearlsTeapot that sounds fabulous. Love a nice garden centre.

SilenceInside · 07/08/2026 22:00

@Billybingbong your progress picture is amazing btw!

Billybingbong · 07/08/2026 22:04

@PearlsTeapot That's brilliant news, huge congrats. You should be so proud of all your achievements just lately, you're amazing.

Thank you all for the lovely comments. I would absolutely urge everybody to take regular progress pics (and measurements). Its such a boost seeing the difference in picture rather than just on the scales.

PositiveAttitude · 07/08/2026 22:34

@Billybingbongyou look amazing!!! You must be so proud of yourself. Well done!!

@PearlsTeapotwhat fantastic news!! Congratulations. Look how far you have come over the past few months. Life is not just about our weight. I bet you are buzzing tonight!! I am sure it will be exhausting to start with, but you will soon get used to it and being on your feet and walking all day the weight will fall off you again.

Well done on getting a job Pearl!

Wow - look at you Billy!

I've got an NSV.

Today, we went round Inveraray Castle.
The last time I was in it, the many, many stairs nearly killed me, and I gave up halfway through and went and sat in the tearoom.

Not today! I made it up all the stairs and got right to the top. Okay, my arthritic hips were painful, but I wasn't carrying around the equivalent of another person who weighed 10st 7lb.

I know jolly well that I'd never be able to lift anything which weighed 10st 7lb, yet I lugged that weight around on my own body for years.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 08/08/2026 00:32

Quick reminder that I've gone from 20st 2lb down to 9st 9lb. BMI is down from 51 to 23.6.

Dress sizes are down from 26/28 to 8/10.

I am able to wear ordinary shoes again and I don't need the extra wide fitting.

It's taken two and a half years and I'm titrating down the doses now. Currently on 7.5mg every 6 days, which is serving me well.

DS1 (who lives in London) came up for a week's holiday, and I've eaten more than usual this week, but have only gained 2lb.

I know I'll easily lose it next week when he's gone home.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 08/08/2026 00:51

Me in 2021 and I hadn't reached my highest weight at that point.
I was "only" 18st 10lb then.

1.3kg gain this week which is annoying but justified! My head hasn't been in the game this week - eating past the supression and just generally eating crap. Not sure why but I'll see how this week goes and consider increasing my dose if I can't get back on it.

Fffreeeeezing · 08/08/2026 12:04

Week 73 and I've had a whoosh of 4lb- woo!

My scales kindly landed on a very precise number (I ignore decimal places anyway!) and today's win is my BMI is 34.9 (from a starting point of 59.8)

149lb/67kg gone and exactly 10lb to go till I'm in the 100's lb wise.

Will be nice to see the 14's on the scales next week!

2st 2lb from my target I set at the beginning of all this, when I get there I may have to revise it.....

Hi I’m about to start Mounjaro. I’m roughly 24/25st 🙈 BMI of 50. I’m guessing from the posts that nothing will happen for months?

Welcome! What do you mean by 'nothing will happen for months'? Most people start losing weight straight away when they start MJ, and generally the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off. But it's still a good idea to try and control the pace a little bit so 1-2lbs per week is a good long term average. There will be blips along the way, it's rare for people to lose consistently over a long period of time, but overall the general progress should be steadily downwards. Do expect it to take over a year though, I'm not sure anyone on this thread has found they can get to goal in less than that, and more likely closer to 18 months- 2 years.

SilenceInside · 09/08/2026 08:01

@Foolish1984 hello and welcome 👋 I think lots will happen in a few months, certainly most people start losing weight straight away to varying degrees. A few people find that they need higher doses for the effects to start happening, but that’s not at all related to your starting weight.

What day are you going to do your first injection?

MCR24 · 09/08/2026 10:04

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne amazing photos! You've done so well!

@Foolish1984 I'm not sure what you mean by nothing will happen for months. I got suppression and started losing weight as soon as I started MJ but some people need to go onto higher doses for the effects.

I set mini goals for myself throughout so there was always mini achievements to celebrate. It did take a while for others to notice and to change clothing size, I think clothing wise it was because I was wearing old clothes that had probably stretched with me, so they started to fit a lot better rather than needing a smaller size. Once I did need smaller sizes it all seemed to happen quickly.

It's taken just over 2 years to go from 22 stone, 6 lb to 9 stone, 8 lb. That's an average of 1 lb and 12.22 oz a week.

Billybingbong · 09/08/2026 10:22

@Foolish1984 welcome 👋. In my experience, and probably the majority of people here, loads will happen in the first few months. The suppression hit me within hours of my first jab, and the weight loss was huge at first. It soon settled to 1-2lb a week, and is now, 16 months later 3-4lb a month, but I've lost almost 8 1/2 st, and transformed my life.

My best advice, take pictures and measurements from day 1, and you will soon notice a difference. Good luck in your journey

TragicMuse · 09/08/2026 12:52

Last day of being away on holiday. I’ve jabbed while here (must remember to take my pen out of the fridge and take it home!) and have had suppression and satiety so although I haven’t tracked at all for a couple
of weeks I think I’ve done ok overall. It will be empty booze calories that will have done the most damage.

I’m expecting to have a gain when I get home, but my clothes still feel wearable and not suddenly tighter and I know I can’t have gone all the way back to where I was so I’m ok with that. It will be a few lbs, manageable and straightforward to re-lose. And that’s normal for thin people.

And I start tracking again tomorrow!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 09/08/2026 13:03

DS1 has been here for a week, so I've been eating quite a bit more. I have gained a couple of pounds, but now he's gone I'll get back on track.

Hello @Foolish1984 you'll see a difference quite quickly when you start the MJ. You'll very likely lose quite a lot of weight to start with, then the rate of loss will go down. That's been our experience on this thread, on the whole.

I think we all had to lose a good four or five stone before other people started to notice that we were thinner.

PearlsTeapot · 09/08/2026 13:39

15.05lb. I can’t WAIT to see a 14 on the scales now!

EnterSandfan · 09/08/2026 14:47

Stayed at 191lbs this week (chips and ice cream at the seaside etc haha) but I'm still feeling motivated; I've signed up to some virtual races (where you get a lovely medal!) and am planning on rejoining the gym soon. I might even try a little break from MJ while I'm doing all that as I am getting some grim side effects occasionally 😆

Guys I could cry. I'm mostly wearing 16-18 (mostly 18) in clothes still, but we went to a department store this morning and I tried on quite a few nice jackets, gilets and jumpers for fun. The 14s and 16s all fit beautifully and some were even baggy. I tried on a lovely raincoat; they didn't have a 16 or a 14 so tried the 12 and it zipped with plenty of room, then I tried the 10 for a laugh and it was snug but it did up! I'm sure it was just strange sizing but still, I have never fit into a 10 or a 12 in my life! Or even a 14 for that matter! So proud of myself! I'm going to hold off buying anything new til winter I think. 7 stone down and people have started commenting a lot now, can't believe it took 7 stone to be noticeable 😆
Have a good week all! 💪🏻

Just went to buy black jeans for work. Size 18! My mind is blown that my bottom half is an 18 now. 🤯
