Please give me the kick up the arse I need again. I am 6 stones down but have stalled for 2.5 months now and that's really expensive. I have tried to nudge up my dose (am on 7.5) but it bungs me up horribly. I want to shed another 6 stones but frankly at the moment I want to get to below 100kg (20kg away). I flipflop between stones and kg depending on who last used the scales and set them!

My food intake is much better than when I started at Easter 25 and I drink far less alcohol and move far more.

But I need a whoosh and the motivation that brings ...

Your doing really really well ,that's a great loss ..but it definitely does slow down and that's good because the slower we loose the more likely we are to keep it of ,I always found the faster I lost it ,the faster I gained it back

Hey @Missingducks
I am in the same boat, but if there is anything I have learnt over this last 18months and 7 stone weight loss is that this is a journey! Mine is much slower than others, but a journey nonetheless. During this journey I have lost my wonderful dad, struggled with grief and dealt with skin cancer and surgeries.
I am still here and I am still trying to loose!
I don’t think I will get big sudden losses again, no whoosh feelings, it’s more I have to just keep nudging.
Yes it is too expensive for this approach, but what choice do I have if I want to keep it off for good and keep my muscle? I am more worried about gaining it all again than how quick I loose it.
Trying to just be kind to myself, like I never have before. Showing myself patience and encouragement.
Stalling is so frustrating, I have been stuck for about 2 months too. I’m just going to keep going.
You can do it too.

I have reflected on my MJ journey, the thing that’s different is ‘I keep going and won’t let myself give up this time’.

You've had such a lot to cope with ,and you've still lost 7 stone ..you should be so proud of yourself .
You have such a good attitude as well ,your really determined .
No big woosh here either ,it's a matter of plodding on really

I am coming to the end of my 1st week after stepping up a dose (going from 2.5 to 5) and feeling a little out of sorts. Just wondering if it has happened to anyone else? I was consistently losing the weight over the 4 weeks I was on 2.5 but still had food noise a fair amount and a bit of hunger. But I felt really upbeat, positive and wasn't really missing food and certainly no cravings. This week I woke up for the first time hungry and have been wanting to snack a lot more during the week. So, in essence, it feels like by going up a dose the food noise has increased rather than decreased. Am also feeling a bit less positive, anxious and stressed in general. I know I am really early into my journey so appreciate I have a lot to learn and things could change next week but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and, if so, do they have any advice please?

Your body is still getting used to this new medication
Sometimes I do have hungrier weeks .. sometimes no food noise , sometimes my body needs more food ..I try to fill up on a soup before a meal if I think I need a bit more .
I've had a lot of weeks where I have felt hungrier, and I do try to listen to my body ..within reason..and eat a bit more ..then it drops back the following week and I'm ok again.
Hopefully this will pass soon

@GnomeDePlume Gosh yes to the car parking spaces. It's so different now. Life is so more accessible in so many ways.

@MCR24 thats incredible!!! You've done so well over those 2 years and less than half what you were! Did you find it slowed as you got towards your target or below bmi 25?

I agree with SpringFlowers and Silence. Sometimes I have hungrier weeks. Sometimes Ive not eaten enough really in a week or two so the next week compensates. Sometimes it feels like Ive lost loads (especially early on) and then I worried if it had stopped for a week or two. The amazing thing (i think Silence told me this!) Is that it just keeps plodding away in the background. So instead of getting worried about every half a pound etc you can start to look after months at a line that goes down... but when you zoom in you see its not linear and goes up someweeks and down less someweeks but overall over the months you lose. Its amazing.

I have a huge NSV for me! I went horse riding!!! It was THE thing I'd wanted to be light enough to do and I never thought I'd be able to. And it was amazing. I loved it so much.

This week I've really been noticing how much easier it is to exist in a smaller body (and Im still overweight.). I am so grateful for this. I'm sad for all those years lost to inflammation and difficulty moving and just difficulty being...and being judged and perceived differently etc... but it feels so good to be "me" again.

Perception of size is funny too isnt it. Im size 14 which I couldn't have dreamed of early on in my journey. Yet around slim colleagues or friends I'm still hyperaware of my rolls on my hops and stomach and would really love to be a 12 and to be more in proportion. I know I will have "skin" on my stomach but Id just like it to be less... rolls of fat!

Realistically I'm coming to terms with loose skin and not veing able tk have removal surgery. I know I can tuck it in and am so so grateful.... just hoping it can still be... less!

I am so so grateful to this thread amd all the support over the last 18months. And so excited for those of you early on in your journey - its the best thing ever. Lifechanging!

@wendywoopywoo222 love your post! The NSVs are what keeps me going. I love not being the largest in the room anymore because I literally always was.

I'm thinking of joining Slimming World. Anyone got any thoughts on this? I've been the same weight for 6 months now despite recently going up to 5mg. I'm on my way up to 7.5 but just 1 click a week so it'll take me another 2 months. I have food noise and keep reaching for treats and buying them. I've joined a few times over the years but never stuck at it, wondering if the weekly weigh in will help me.

PearlsTeapot · 30/07/2026 19:49

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden I'm thrilled you went horse riding, what an amazing NSV and achievement! So happy for you.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 30/07/2026 20:21

Such positive posts 😍
well done @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden- that is a great NSV!!!

I have a weird NSV today… At the gym today and my daughter does gymnastics, she made a comment about gymnasts being strong to do pull ups and handstands.
I tried a pull up (I couldn’t but was surprised I could hold my weight).
I tried a handstand against a wall-I bloody did it! Not done that for over 20years and did have the fear my arms would collapse on me, but they didn’t!!!

Ok, not graceful, but no way I could have done those things with 7 stone on me!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 30/07/2026 20:26

Omg a handstand!??!?!

Wow! I'm impressed!

TragicMuse · 30/07/2026 20:43

As you’ve asked@PearlsTeapot personally, I think all diet clubs and plans are total charlatans trading on unsustainable models!

Also personally, I know that SW did a lot damage to my relationship with food, and with myself. I can’t ever go back there.

But that might not be the same for you…

TragicMuse · 30/07/2026 20:47

I’m away on holiday now and will be letting loose a little. Still tracking and still jabbing! But if I want an ice-cream or an aperol spritz I’ll have one.

I have a glorious NSV though.

I HAVE A THIGH GAP! I don’t have chub rub!

It’s incredible!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 30/07/2026 21:03

@PearlsTeapot I did do well on SW, and if you dont get sucked into all the cheats and hacks then the overall plan is fairly healthy, but for me the biggest thing was the accountability and group support that came from going every week - and that I feel has been replaced by this group, or actually even improved on, as this group is accessible 24/7 rather than just being once a week. That's partly why I keep posting my results each week - it gives me that accountability. But I get what you are saying about needing to make a change, sometimes we need that to get out of a rut.

Ketra · 30/07/2026 23:21

Congrats @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden on the horse-riding - that's also on my list to do once I get a bit more weight off! Must feel amazing to do "normal" activities without having to worry if you will be over the limit.

There's literally one a stones throw from my house ,every Saturday morning,
It never really worked for me before, because everything seemed to be add an egg or cottage cheese..and being vegan there was literally no vegan recipes.
But apparently it's different now ,so I do get tempted by it ... occasionally.
I do believe GPs can give out 12 weeks of free vouchers in my area ,so it might be worth asking yours if they do the same.

Hello all, am rejoining after taking an MJ break for a few months. I plateaued and got fed up, plus had some big expenses, but have started on 2.5mg again. I lost 28kg in a year, put 5 back on while off MJ, and aiming to lose 30kg to get me back down to a healthy weight.

Can I ask about promo codes. I know the main code thread was zapped due to T’s and Cs, are we still able to PM them or is that also a no-no?

SilenceInside · 31/07/2026 08:17

@ANutAsBigAsABoulder people do still PM each other discount codes. I don't think MN have an issue with that as it won't break the advertising law around prescription medication.

Can I ask what dose you were up to before you had the break, and whether the 2.5mg is doing anything for you at the moment?

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 31/07/2026 09:09

Thank you @SilenceInside that’s helpful to know. I’d got up to 12.5mg when I decided to take the break. I’d plateaued for nearly three months and had got to the end of my pre price rise stockpile. I needed a break mentally and financially tbh.

Now back on 2.5mg and just started my third week. Food noise is definitely suppressed - although it didn’t totally come back to pre MJ levels while I was off it (five months in total) but was building - and I’m back to making better choices. Going to go up to 5mg next pen and then stay at that level for as long as it works which is what I did last time.

This time round I really need to start doing more exercise alongside the better diet. Just need to get the motivation for that going.

EnterSandfan · 31/07/2026 09:10

I am loving everyone's NSVs! Well done all 🎉

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden congrats on the horse riding, that's a dream of mine! It must have been brilliant 🐎
@GnomeDePlume ooh yes someone parked really close to my car the other day and I opened my door a crack thinking I'll never get in but I did! Such a small thing yet such a big thing ❤️

It took a long time to feel different physically but after 7 stone loss, I'm starting to feel different as I move. Also I realised I was sitting cross-legged which I've never been able to do , and this week I realised I can sit on the floor and draw my legs up which I have never done because my stomach was in the way. It's so strange. The hip pain I was having has disappeared and my ruined crunchy knees feel a bit better too.
People have started noticing and commenting now. I was thinking 'well I must look exactly the same' because no one had said anything until recently.
I'm only 5lbs away from being just 'overweight', I really need to get my bum in gear - the losses are really slowing and I know it's because I'm letting the odd snack in here and there and sneaking too much chocolate in the evenings etc. Getting out of the obese category is my next big target, I've always been obese as an adult and I can't believe it's within reach! I probably need to start tracking cals again, I just find it so tedious!

BritbirdUK · 31/07/2026 09:16

Thanks all. Having feedback from others is always a huge help. I jab today and am hungry this morning to say the least!

Today is also my weigh in day. I wasn't sure how I would get on as it felt like I have been eating a little bit more. However, I have lost almost 6lb. Making a total loss of 2 stone 3.8lb in 5 weeks. Am feeling pretty happy about that. Still a massively long way to go but definitely in the right direction!

MCR24 · 31/07/2026 09:25

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden horse riding is on my things to do but I'm not sure where I could go as an adult who hasn't ever ridden a horse before (except a few times on holiday when I was a child)

The weight loss isn't even happening anymore I'm the same weight now as I was in May (I put some on and then off again!). I have a spreadsheet but I don't think I can attach them here and all the data would make the post too long!

I hit BMI 25.7 on 25/12/25 (Christmas present from the weight loss gods 😂) I was 72.5kg. since then I've lost 10.6kg but that includes the above putting some on and losing it again (aka holidays!)

Billybingbong · 31/07/2026 09:44

Morning all, hope you're all ok. Just bobbing in to say finally, at last, the scales appear to be on the move again after months of not much happening. I've lost 3lb this week, total loss now 8st 3lb. Fingers crossed it isnt just a 1 off, I need to lose around 3st more, and would really like it to happen some time this century!

SW 22st 8lb
CW 14st 5lb
GW 11st 4lb

Lovely to read all the NSV's and losses. I'm loving the new experiences too. Horse riding sounds fun (not for me, the bloody things scare the crap out of me!), it really is such a buzz being able to do something your weight has always prohibited. My new thing is sea swimming. It was top of my list, and I finally braved it a few weeks ago. It is amazing, I'm loving it. I've been 3 times this week, and am going again tonight, can't wait.

Have a great week losers, keep the NSV's coming, I love reading them ❤️

TheZingyFish · 31/07/2026 12:09

Haven’t posted for a while so thought I’d update.

SW 24st 9lbs
CW 15st 11.5lbs
Total lost 8st 11.5lbs

I was worried things were slipping and the weight loss had stalled a bit but things seem to be moving with a 2lbs off each of the last two weeks.

I went clothes shopping properly for the first time rather than ordering a few bits online and it was strange. I was almost a bit overwhelmed with the choice. I also went out for lunch with colleagues and I’ve just realised it never even occurred to me to think about which chair I might fit in, I didn’t give it a second thought I just sat where I could best hear the gossip!

I think the overriding feeling is that I’m becoming normal whatever that means. I feel if I stand out it is because of my accomplishments and not because of my size and strangely enough it has made me more relaxed and confident in my work and life. I no longer feel I need to overcompensate for how I look. Those dear to me would say that I never needed to do this as I was always recognised for who I am and what I do rather than my dress sense, but it is strange that I am more trusting of myself.

I still have a way to go, I’m currently a size 20 and would like to get down to a size 16 and then reappraise things. I’ll never be heading to a size 10 or even 12, as I feel tiny already but is so nice to feel like a different person. I’ve always had a strange relationship with my mother especially regarding my weight as she has struggled with how best to support me, and I sent her a photo of sent to my provider recently having not seen her for about 3 months and she was shocked by how different I looked and was quite emotional which made me emotional as well. Life is strange and what this does is so much bigger than I ever expected.

I'm the same , aiming for a size 16
Ideally I'd love a 14 ..but I need to be realistic about skin
And I don't think I want my neck to get any worse.
My legs are quite thin..but there's lots of weight on my stomach still .
And you can't control where you loose the weight from ,,which is a bit frustrating

TheZingyFish · 31/07/2026 12:28

@Springflowers2 This is exactly it, I have already got some loose skin and would worry about getting even more. A size 14 would be a dream but I think a size 16 would be realistic as a far off dream. I don’t think my BMI will be going down below 25 to get into the normal range but I’d be happy with just being overweight instead of 55.5 where I started so super morbidly obese!

Billybingbong · 31/07/2026 12:56

I'm now in a 14/16, which feels like a dream from the 26/28 I started at. My BMI is 35, from 56, and I would love to get to below 30, we'll see. I have said though, that while I obviously want and need to lose around 3st more, I wouldn't be too miserable if I stayed where I am. The biggest thing for me and I think most of us, is that I now just feel 'normal'. I just blend in with the crowd now, no longer the stand-out heffalump I always felt like. I mean, I stood on a busy beach last night, stripping down to my swimming cossie, without a care in the world. Who is this new me I hardly recognise!!!
