@SilenceInside I hear you ... I had them from 11 to 58 and still worry they are just latent and not gone for good. Never wanted children.

BritbirdUK · 01/10/2026 09:14

Feeling a little despondant today. Since my last blood test I have lost nearly 5 stone. Today, after a blood test earlier in the week I got a text from the doctors saying my cholesterol is raised. It isn't an issue I have ever had previously so I am puzzled about about why it is showing now as I am very much focusing on lean meat, high protein and low fat! Luckily I have an appointment with the nurse next week anyway for a review so I will ask about it then.

SilenceInside · 01/10/2026 09:23

@BritbirdUK I’m sure I read somewhere that weight loss can cause a temporary increase in cholesterol that drops again when you’re no longer actively losing weight.

Fffreeeeezing · 01/10/2026 09:47

@BritbirdUKdo you have access to all the blood results? (I can access all mine on the Dr's system and on the NHS app) If you do, screenshot them and put them into ChatGPT, it will analyse them all and will give you questions for your GP etc if needed, I've found it so reassuring before. Be reassured that it won't give medical advice, it just expands on the data and makes results clearer.

Yeah I've done that before,it's really helpful
Good luck with it @BritbirdUK

BritbirdUK · 01/10/2026 15:43

thank you ladies - that is a HUGE help. Off to screenshot now.

Billybingbong · 01/10/2026 15:54

Chatgpt gave me a few questions to ask my doctor after analysing my blood results. It suggested I ask for a Dexa scan, which my GP agreed to, and then it analysed the results from that too. It's brilliant, I use it for all sorts. We also use Co-Pilot at work, which is just as clever

SW: 144kg
CW: 78kg

Going to join the group of people who have stalled in their weightloss.
I've been bouncing around between 77.5kg and 79kg for the last 3 months and it's very annoying.

I looked back at my food diary to compare what I am doing now vs what I was doing at the start of my journey, in case there was anything I could do. And there are a couple of differences.

I'm exercising twice a week rather than 3-4 times a week. After dinner snacking, is back, not loads and within calories, but enough to make an impact and stall the weightloss. And being a bit lax on my portion sizes. I previously ate from a side plate and now I have seemingly swapped back to a normal sized dinner plate.

I also have weightloss fatigue...I've just had enough of watching what I eat all day long. It's not like the others who have 2st or 3st to lose and call it a day after 12 weeks, this is exhausting.

It's my birthday next week, and I distinctly remember this time last year being 110kg and a bit annoyed at myself that I didn't reach the birthday goal I had in my head of 106kg! That seems like so long ago.

But also, I haven't gone this far, to JUST go this far, IYKWIM.

TragicMuse · 01/10/2026 23:21

I think Domino’s must be made from crack. I went so far into the red on my calories today and only stopped because it was all gone!

Mind you, the damage was done the moment I suggested we decided on pizza in the first place…

MoneyJo · 02/10/2026 07:05

Pizza is a nightmare @TragicMuse absolutely weighed down with calories from the dense bread base and mountain of cheese.

But delicious (if it's a good one) and quick and sometimes just what is needed and wanted.
I have found I can pile a side of salad and olives next to a couple of slices and be happy. I tell myself it's my home version of Legere at Pizza Express where they cut a circle out of the centre and fill it with watercress.

Well that's dinner tonight sorted now ...

If my family is ordering Dominos I always get the hot honey and nduja dough balls. I absolutely love them and they’re 650kcal so limits the damage somewhat whilst still letting me ‘join in’!

That's the key - a couple of slices with veg.

However I find I've really lost interest in it because it's so dense. Makes me feel a bit ill unless it's a good, flat Italian style. American style pizza has so much dough.

Billybingbong · 02/10/2026 08:14

Lidl do the most delightful salami, nduja & red pepper pizza with a hot honey sauce. It's dirt cheap and it's only 350 cals for 1/3 of it. It's my go to treat every couple of weeks. Dh has his usual pile of chips or garlic bread with it, and I have a plate of salad. It proper hits the spot.

TragicMuse · 02/10/2026 08:34

Eh, I’m happy with pizza as part of a balanced life. It’s an occasional thing for us. And I shared with the teen so did have an eventual limit!

But that is normal life ,to sometimes have a pizza ,if we don't partake in normal food activities,we don't stand the best chance long term , because we have to make our weight loss journey fit in with our life ,not the other way round
I mean if you were eating takeout every night ,that would not be good ,once in a blue moon is fine

Oh sorry didn't see this message..was trying to be supportive
But you don't need that ..
Sorry

Springflowers2 · 02/10/2026 09:16

@tescovaluebread it's definitely hard keeping it going long term.. especially when you just want to get back to normal..
I can't ever go back to my normal..it's definitely hard

PuzzledObserver · 02/10/2026 09:21

I incorporate pizza from time to time - try not to make it more than twice a month. I make it at home, using a low carb fat-head pizza base, which I make myself. DH doesn’t share my choice to eat low carb, so I get ready-made bases for him. We also go for a curry once a month. I have made some swaps, and my portions are smaller, and my scale weight goes up the following day - but that’s mostly water and gut contents, and goes away pretty quickly afterwards.

The really important thing for me though is that this is a permanent way of eating. There will be no “getting back to normal” - I have changed my definition of normal.

SilenceInside · 02/10/2026 09:43

I make home made pizza usually every week for my family, but I have lost all interest in eating it myself! It holds no appeal to me which I don't know if it's the Mounjaro doing that, or just having changed what I eat for so long now. I also have zero interest in pasta and very little interest in bread, which is just such a massive change compared to what I used to like. Used to eat toast all day sometimes 😬 which I can't get my head round.

user593 · 02/10/2026 10:28

All this pizza talk is making me hungry 😂

Billybingbong · 02/10/2026 10:44

First weigh in of my re-set, and I've lost the 2lb I gained while I wasn't jabbing. So the scales are moving in the right direction again, and I'm happily back in the right mindset. 8st 11lb gone forever.

I just need to work on the exercise now. I do tons of walking, and recently started sea swimming, but thats more of a dip & a bob rather than proper exercise. Still, when I think of where I was 18 months ago, I couldn't even manage to walk on the beach....

SW 22st 8lb
CW 13st 11lb
GW 11st 4lb

@SilenceInside I'm totally uninterested in bread & pasta too. It's fascinating how much this journey changes not just your mindset, but tastes & habits too.

TragicMuse · 02/10/2026 21:18

Oh I still enjoy carbs! But I do work better on protein. I just have less now…

Anyway. NSV time. I bought a shift dress in the summer, and it was too small.

Tried it on tonight and it looks THE BOMB! It’s very fitted and it’s just fantastic. I looked in the mirror and did not recognise myself!

So so pleased!

I’m in the same boat, lost 9 stone and my cholesterol is still raised and not really improved at all. My private bloods place want me to see my GP but there really isn’t anything else I can be doing, exercising daily, eating well etc.

Interested in the theory that the weight loss itself can keep some levels high. Let us know what the GP says?

Fffreeeeezing · 03/10/2026 14:52

Week 82, 2lb off, only 3lb until I'm less than 200lb 🎈🎈🎊

Good god it feels so slow at the moment, like it's taking forever!

I'm in the middle of booking my first trip abroad for mid November (first trip since MJ, not ever 🤣 and I'm so looking forward to the flight for the first time ever to not be worried sick about fitting either the seat or the seat belt. Somehow I've never had to have a seat belt extender (I genuinely have no idea how this is the case considering I've been between 20 and 25st + for the last few decades and I've been on a lot of flights) but it's always been something I've panicked about for ages before each flight, especially the impact on the people sat next to me. I'm fairly confident I won't struggle to fit in the seat this time and there will be room to spare and it won't be 8 hours of uncomfortableness 🤞
