That feels rude as well though, especially if I turn up with tin foil
Usually I sit next to my husband and slip food on his plate
But he's not able to come

You don't need to turn up with tin foil, most places will have takeaway containers, just eat what you want then ask for the rest to go. I doubt they will even hesitate.

Will do x

Week 76 and 1lb off which is a huge win as I got my period last night and that usually gives me a temporary gain and then I get a whoosh the week after (fingers crossed for next week 🤣)
That brings me to the end of August and I'm nothing if not consistent, check out my last few months losses!

Good god it feels so slow sometimes, I just want to get to the point where I can go and buy (much needed) clothes and know I'm not going to have to replace them in a few months. I am seriously scraping the barrel of my existing wardrobe at the moment, especially my work clothes. Dread to think what I'm going to wear when it starts getting colder, first world problems eh?!

On the occasion I do go out I have often asked to take away leftovers and everyone has always been very accommodating. In fact I worry if I don’t ask they’ll think I didn’t like the food and be insulted 😂

I went to a food festival today and didn’t overeat - felt like an achievement! I had some delicious food though.

TragicMuse · 29/08/2026 17:46

I’ve been out for afternoon tea. I had to bring the cakes home for the husband and teen!

It was really good though!

Supposed to be something nice eating out ..a treat
I hope when I get to my goal weight..whatever that ends up being...
I can start to enjoy food again
I haven't yet got to the point "I can be chill about gaining a pound or two , because I know it will come of again .."
So holidays and meals out , birthday and Christmas... anything surrounding eating extra food ,still brings anxiety I'm going to put on weight.
I'm not yet secure in my ability to loose any extra pounds

That sounds really hard. I'm not sure if you're able to rationalise it, but when I have slightly overeating I like to remind myself that in order to put on a pound of actual fat (rather than just water) you have to go over your maintenance (not target) calories by 3,500 across the week. That's an absolutely massive amount, that you are extremely unlikely to manage in just one meal. So for me, the difference that MJ makes is that after one excessive meal I can get straight back on track rather than it derailing my whole week like it would have done in the past - it's not the one bad meal that causes the weight gain, but if it leads to a bad week that's when the gains start. But I know that it isn't that easy to change your psychology around food, so I hope you can start to trust the process a bit more soon.

52soon · 29/08/2026 21:06

My weight is so slow to come off now so I thought I’d look through my old photos to see what difference all this hard work has made, old me wearing size 24 new me wearing size 12

TragicMuse · 30/08/2026 10:57

I’m cheering myself up with an NSV. Just had a bath and there is now space either side of me! I didn’t feel wedged in. That’s really nice.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 30/08/2026 11:25

Wahoo for the bath!

I think i have a glimmer of hope after my however-many-week-stall Ive had.

I was 74.8kg 7th June. And it hovers around 74 for June
i was 73.4 kg 7th July
goes up and down and around that for July.
I was then 73.5kg beg August! And much of August was weighing in at 74ish.

I had been on 9mg until end June, did 9.5 then 10mg for 2 weeks and then 2 weeks on 11mg and jon Friday just done second week on 12.

So even going up more than a 2.5dose (from 8.95 to 12) in effect hasnt helped much.😳

Good news I weighed in today 72.8!

I known it will now likely go up to 73 and hover for a month...

And progress is so very slow now.

But hopefully it means the trend is still going down.

I am very very tired having gone up. And sulphur burped quite a bit after the 11s and first 12. Hoping not to around people tomorrow and Tuesday.

I've spent this year feeling both amazed how far I've got (I feel I "pass for normal" now!! (Well the overweight side of normal but still!) And am so so pleased about mobility) but aI am so tired and so puzzled about the next steps and where this is going. I dont feel I eat lots and had hoped not only to get to bmi 25 but to get comfortably within that (mainly so when weighed at the gp in clothes I still feel "Normal"!).

I also have a lot of loose skin. And my stomach seems to have a stone of fat on it and i want that to look less weird as im all put of proportion now.

My current fear is I'd hoped to be reducing by now. So costs of this realistically (especially with the loss of the 5th dose) is going to be a lot for me.

And I might need to be realistic that my maintenence dose when (if) i get there is unlikely to be 5 is it if i stalled for so long on 10 is it...

I feel like I'm being ungrateful for the amazing progress. I'm truly not just not sure what my gameplay is now or what realistic expectations are now. Especially with cost and tiredness implications. I jsut want to be realsirtic for the enxt yeat. I'm sort of so close but not quite!! I so thought id be there by now. And where money is a big issue for us still nervous to spend too much on clothes/ winter boots again if not "there"!

Thankyou all. I cant talk about this to anyone irl! My colleagues and friends are either slimmer than me, healthy, normal etc. Or a bit overweight and sort of not appropriate to be anxious when im.now smaller than them!

Plenty to think about

Springflowers2 · 30/08/2026 13:32

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden ..I can relate to all of that .. especially the ungrateful bit ..I've had a few comments that I should be happy where I am now and stop stressing about losing more weight...
I actually wasn't stressing about losing more weight,..but during a conversation...I didn't start ..I happened to mention I was still actively trying to lose more .
I also wanted to be reducing by now ..but feel I actually need to go back up
It's not looking good for eventually needing to come of this medication
I don't talk about this to anyone outside of this thread ..
I got sick of the negative comments

Springflowers2 · 30/08/2026 13:39

I really didn't have a long term plan in my head when I went on monjroro
I don't think I really expected to lose weight, because I thought I was so far gone , nothing would help me .
So I had no plan long term
I feel stuck .. because if I'm honest I'm scared I can't keep the weight of without mounjaro..
But I won't actually know that for sure without trying
And that's a massive risk , especially as I still have weight to loose
Last year losing 10 stone made monjroro definitely worth it financially
But this year ..not so much worth it
I've definitely noticed the difference in the pen with only 4 doses

PearlsTeapot · 30/08/2026 13:55

I think you can be grateful for where you are and still wish you were further along! I’m another who struggles with the cost but I’m going up anyway as I’ve come so far I’m not giving up now. I’m currently on 6.5 and going up a click every 5 days.

Moving to 5 days is working, the scales are going down. Happy to see 14.11 on the scales today! Only a pound a week but that feels like loads after a 6 month stall.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 30/08/2026 14:22

I also feel in a bit of a stall and that i need a new plan. I've had 2 viral illnesses in a row and felt unwell for nearly 3 weeks, all my exercise has gone by the wayside and weight loss is very slow. I flip flop between wanting to increase my dose and then when i do my gastritis flares and i remember why I promised myself i'd be more patient.

I'm hoping the back to school vibes will allow me a reset - although its back to uni in this house, all my kids through school which is a big change after nearly 20 years!

I only have about 1st 3lb to my first goal, which is at BMI 27, so just focusing on that and an exercise reset now I feel better.

TragicMuse · 30/08/2026 15:49

I’ve been on 10mg for a long time and it’s only this week that it’s not felt as effective in terms of appetite suppression although the satiation is better than none.

I didn’t feel all that good when I tried 12.5mg a few months ago but I might give it another try and see if it gives me a boost - I can always come back down, after all…

I have a stone or so to go to my preferred target. I’d really like to do that before next March and my 2 year anniversary.

I was like you and almost scared to put on the weight if I had a bad meal or that.

I don't know if you listen to podcasts springflowers2 but 'thereallossboss' podcasts or RLB weight loss podcast i think its officially called are so worth a listen. He was 30 odd stone now about 19 stone. He talks about being off plan, weekends etc and the way he works is how I want to live my life. Also if you have 36 off plan days - eating rubbish you are still being good 90% of the year. Worth keeping that in mind.

He doesn't use the jag but I feel he has a positive realistic mindset that I hope to do. I want to enjoy the moments like christmas, holidays and know i'll get back on it after. We've all worked so bloody hard doing this you should be proud of where you've come on this journey and if you have a little blip it's just a blip.

Not sure if this will be helpful to you or not but just wanted to message 😊

Attention in the weighing room!

I just went shopping in Levi’s and ended up with 30 or 31 waist jeans - but I have a 35” waist!

I have no idea how their sizing actually works but the suggested was a 33 and they were way too big!

It’s bizarre but I am delighted! Utterly delighted!

Just scraped into the 12 stones bracket for last 2 days so it’s getting logged😂 no doubt I will bounce between 12.13 and 13.0 for a couple of weeks but I’m taking it. I’ve been stuck in the 13’s since April, I’m hoping by Christmas to have broken into the 11’s. It’s still unbelievable to me that I am anywhere close to those numbers but the weeks pass and those small losses along the way all adds up.
