Sitting at a raceground while DS (16) has his first driving lesson! It’s one of those ‘young driver’ sessions and it’s looking great. Hoping this inspires him to get a job to pay for lessons!

I seem to have gained what I lost last week, don’t know how as have eaten the same. My body seems determined to stay at 15 stone and I don’t know why! Just move downwards will you!

Whatalunatic · 16/08/2026 16:22

Bit of a mad question but.....bangles! Since starting this journey (5 1/2 stone down, 4 to go) I have overhauled my wardrobe and started wearing jewellery when I never wore any before. I won a ton of stuff at a local auction (think kilos and kilos of costume jewellery) which included some gorgeous bangles that won't go over my wrists. I have some bangles that fit fine but bangles clearly come in different sizes (who knew?!). I seem to be no nearer to being able to wear them but am reluctant to let them go until I'm sure it's never going to happen....

If you're at your target weight after10 stone or more, did it make a difference to your wrists?! Am I clutching at straws that they will one day fit?!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/08/2026 16:24

@Whatalunatic all my jewellery is much too big now that I've lost well over 10st.

Billybingbong · 16/08/2026 16:37

@Whatalunatic I'm almost 8 1/2st down, and my smart watch strap now fastens 2 holes smaller, and I've taken 3 links out of my nomination bracelet. My rings are all too big for me now too, which I'm a bit gutted about. I paid a small fortune to have them all made bigger just before I started on the jabs!

Billybingbong · 16/08/2026 16:43

@TragicMuse brilliant, absolutely amazing. Bottle that feeling for when you're having a bad day 👏🎉🎊

SilenceInside · 16/08/2026 16:45

@Whatalunatic I'm 11 stone down, and my smart watch strap is 5 holes tighter which is about 3 to 3.5cm smaller.

SilenceInside · 16/08/2026 16:48

@TragicMuse congratulations! A brilliant achievement. 🎉🎊

TragicMuse · 16/08/2026 17:07

Thanks friends!

I’m still quite amazed. But enjoying the feeling!

TragicMuse · 16/08/2026 17:10

I’ve had a change of watch-strap and all
my rings are now too big and have either got keepers on them or I’ve loved them to another finger. Like @Billybingbong I’d paid to have my engagement and Wesson rings made bigger before the MJ. But even without that they would still be too big. I’m planning to have something done to ensmall (opp of enlarge!) them. Or maybe I just need other rings to go in front and keep them on!

PearlsTeapot · 16/08/2026 18:43

My Apple Watch is down 4 holes now! Makes me happy cos I used to hate my fat wrists. So I’m sure you'll get those bangles on, @Whatalunatic

Whatalunatic · 16/08/2026 19:48

Thank you those who responded re: bangles. I will hold on to them and see what happens! Got to be worth a try, eh?!

Billybingbong · 16/08/2026 20:38

Not only hands/wrists, but my feet have had a unexpected shift too. I always thought I was a very wide fitting size 7. Turns out that my feet were just covered with a layer of fat, as I'm now a narrow fitting size 6. I'm hoping my calfs have shrunk to, and I'll finally be able to get myself a pair of wellies this winter.

TragicMuse · 16/08/2026 20:50

I was thinking about shoe-size too recently, @Billybingbong. I’ve always had to buy size 8 and wide-fitting. I think I might have go to my local Clark’s and get my feet measured because my actual frame, my skeleton, is narrow, I’m apparently fine-boned (who knew?!) and with that in mind I don’t see how my feet would diverge from that…

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/08/2026 21:28

I also don't need wide-fitting shoes anymore.

All my lovely rings are far too big now.
At some point I'll get them altered.

This is a great thought that hadn’t occurred to me. Yes maybe wellies and boots will be possible for me one day!

Hi all. Back from holiday and all inclusive eating. I didn’t manage to hit my target before holiday (which on reflection was probably good) at just over 90kg, I will look forward to getting back on with things and getting there.

i fiddled with my dosing schedule before holiday to avoid taking jabs there. Just moved jab a later each week for 2 weeks prior and then that was day before I went. On return I was 2 days late.
I decided I wanted to get back to my normal weekend dosing so decided to split dose then second dose was last night.
sadly I don’t think this regime is as effective for me.
post holiday eating may have been worse than while away 😬.
feel like I have just got used to eating more. I drank daily (only a couple each time) on holiday (been T total 8 months). I’ve eaten massive breakfast in place of protein shakes.
Apart from walking, exercise stopped.
just feel urgh!
I have put on 2-3 kg too!
motivation for exercise not there and I just need to get my mojo back!!
Anyone else struggled on return from holiday or following split dosing?

Fffreeeeezing · 17/08/2026 09:28

On the jewellery, I'm noticing the big difference in necklaces, this one was practically a choker a year ago, really uncomfortable and I stopped wearing it, because I felt like it was garrotting me, now.......

@RenegadeKeeblerElf I dont like the "do you feel better for it" Q either as it feels judgemental. Like now Ive finally "seen sense" or "behaved properly" life's essier. Like "now youre like us/ now you've realised you needed to lose weight look isnt it better to ve like us!".

However unlike you I was struggling . I have limited mobility (im in awe of all your fitness) but its one of the things that made me realise how amazing MJ is for me as I was walking again within the first few months. I'm sure so many of my issues were inflammation based. I had fatty liver and blood results and blood pressure were haywire. I didnt have diabetes though.

I did feel bad in my body tbh. But I still feel judged by the comment.

Its been a weird few days. The "wow you've lost weight!" "So I have I noticed!" From me. To a woman saying so were you on the jabs then ...

I do like these people but my weight clearly became the thing to tlak about on the first day. And they thought I was lazy when I couldn't do the walks with them and I so wanted to. I just ....couldn't.

O feel so sorry for the before me the way I couldnt be part of society, how hard it was (for me) and then how judged for it we are.

@TragicMuse WoW!!!! Thats amazing. Congratulations!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳. So happy for you. I think thats something only people who've neen where we have can teuly appreciate how monumental that is.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 17/08/2026 13:12

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden you have perfectly articulated why it bothers me so much - it's that sense of you must feel better as being like us is so much better. Like they were always pitying me in the past.

wendywoopywoo222 · 17/08/2026 16:23

@Reginaphalangeeeee. I have struggled on return from my holidays and it’s because I’ve had so much more sugar in my diet while I’ve been away. I’m so addicted to it I really limit the sweet things I eat. If I don’t have them I don’t crave them so lesson learnt for next time. Good luck getting your head back into it.

Missingducks · 17/08/2026 16:24

If you have wide legs (I have tree trunks ... actual Redwoods) then Jileon wellies are brilliant and often have 20% off ... Expensive but worth it.

Hi! Welcome back home @Reginaphalangeeeee! I hope you had a great holiday! You will be back on track soon I suppose. Holidays are to be enjoyed and a laid back approach regarding weight loss is okay. We are all doing this for a long period of time. Many of us are in their second or third year of losing weight so pauses are normal and so are weight stalls or even small gains.

I also came back from holiday last night. Remember my luggage picture? I've gained about 3 kg and I haven't jabbed during holidays. I was unsure about the cooling situation so I didn't take the pen with me at all.

It's been a long pause (4 weeks) so I do not want to jump right back to my pre-holiday dose of 7.5 mg. Instead I decided to split the last dose of my old pen. The medication is way over its expiration date but has been staying in the refridgerator the whole time and looks fine to me. I've injected 2.5 mg this morning and I am planning to take the other two 2.5 mg doses in intervals of 3 days. If all goes well, I'm going to increase the dose to 3x 5mg and 2x 7.5mg from my new 7.5mg pen. I hope that will work.

Regarding the scales I'm back to what I weighed in May. So it's a throwback of 3 months (I was only losing 1kg per months lately) but I think it was worth it. i went to a quite exotic country and food is an important element of its culture so I did not want to restrict on food. I haven't done any kind of exercise either except for walking (lots! 10-15.000 steps per day) and occasionally swimming.

So all in all (no jabbing, not counting calories & no sports) a 3kg gain doesn't seem excessive and I hope to lose the extra weight within a few weeks.

PearlsTeapot · 17/08/2026 19:10

@canaritini sounds like you also had a great holiday! 3kg is nothing in the bigger picture and you’ll lose it again.

MisfitMagpie · 17/08/2026 22:21

I went away for 7 nights all inclusive in June and put on 7lbs, I'm away 11 nights all inclusive now and hope it's not 11lbs this time but may be!

I'm not counting calories but am conscious of what I'm eating & drinking. I know when I get home I will be back to my normal foods and will lose any weight gained.

The cheese and cake selections are too fantastic to not indulge for a short period.

Fionaville · 18/08/2026 09:13

Hi everyone
Love reading all your comments, very inspiring!

I've finally been prescribed MJ and had my first dose last night. I'm 133kg. I'm not even thinking about my goal weight. Last time I was anywhere near it was 30 years ago. For now, I'd be happy to be less achy and have more energy.
