Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

Hi everyone so I went on my three week holiday and had a three week break from MJ. I ended up putting on just under 2kg which was fine there was a lot of wine and food - probably not as much food as I would have had previously so that is a good thing.
After talking with my supplier I started back on 5mg (was on 7.5mg) before I went and first weigh in have lost the weight a bit more so now at 74kg (20kg down in total)
Now is a similar boat thinking about a target weight ...

taratill · 26/09/2026 09:44

Oh that's interesting that you took a break @annex! We're a similar weight at the moment I think I'm aiming for around 60 kg which is a BMI of 22. Have you had any thoughts?

I met up with an old school friend last night who is taking the tablets and is having some side affects. I fessed up to the MJ, she's the only non family member I've told, and she says she will see how the tablets go but might use the jabs if they don't get the results.

I ended up drinking a little more than I should have last night so feel rough this morning. So exercise on the back burner for me today sadly.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday!

Annex · 26/09/2026 17:09

That's interesting @taratill have just googled what a BMI of 22 is for me its 64kg (I'm 5 ft 7) which does seem to be achievable. That does seem a good weight to aim for as there is room to go up a bit but still be in the healthy weight region.
I do feel I am not really depriving myself I do go out and eat and still drink. I go to the gym three times a week and in the break I had off MJ I did eat more in the third week but not massively and I wasn't exercising so it does give me hope that maybe I have embedded new eating habits that will last ...

ShebaQueen · 29/09/2026 10:32

Hello, loving all the updates, some fantastic losses and nice to hear that people are receiving compliments 🙂Keep going everyone!
I'm checking in with a 1kg loss this week, which is the most I have lost in a week in ages. I haven't changed a thing, just a sudden whoosh, very happy with it all the same. I was considering buying a 7.5 pen, but now decided to stick at 5 for another month. I've lost 21.5kg and weigh 85kg which is my lowest since 2016, just amazing.

taratill · 29/09/2026 12:43

Well done @ShebaQueen!

Amazing NSV for me today. Measured waist this morning and I've now lost 2 more inches! So that makes 10 in total!

Got to start going back into the office and have nothing that fits so quick trip to M&S and picked up size 12 trousers. They are snug but fit! So size 18/20 to size 12! From the profile I now do not look 6 months pregnant for the first time since I had my second child (17 years ago!)

Not moving much on the scales ATM but definitely weight loss is more visible. So odd but I'll take it!

ShebaQueen · 29/09/2026 13:23

Size 12 @taratill? Absolutely incredible! I know exactly what you mean about side profile, I can't imagine that my stomach will ever be flat, but who knows what's possible, and meantime I will settle for not looking pregnant (in my 60s 😂). I've been to M&S for work trousers too, nowhere near a 12 yet, but working on it.

Thanks Sheba, I'd bought some M&S jeans in a 14 a few weeks ago which are now a bit loose so I took a punt thinking that the size 12 will fit eventually even if they don't fit now & they actually fit!

I haven't lost much weight since I bought the size 14 jeans, less than 1/2 a stone, but I have lost inches.

You will get there eventually! Not looking pregnant is definitely a result! My belly is also nowhere near flat. Fingers crossed at some point it will be, but I think there will always be the muffin top issue!

Beehivebabe · 29/09/2026 20:36

@taratill that’s fabulous! Well done to you. Such a boost! Especially if the scales are slowing down.
I've lost a lb this week so its definitely slowed down a lot but I'm ok with that. CW 14st 9lb. I think I was mid 20s the last time I was that weight haha.
@ShebaQueen well done on your continued loss too!

MoneyJo · 01/10/2026 08:01

2lb down this week. Not bad given we are now almost at 7 months in.
SW cutting sugar 20st2
SW on MJ 18st11
CW 15st4

So 3 and a half stone down since MJ and 4st12 since cutting sugar.

Hopefully next week I will hit the magic 5stone mark.

OP posts:
ShebaQueen · 01/10/2026 12:39

well done @MoneyJo those are very impressive stats! So close to 5 stone off!

taratill · 03/10/2026 10:27

Morning all! And well done @MoneyJo , hitting the 5 stone mark will be such an achievement.

I've ended up injecting a day earlier this week as I think I want to end up injecting on a Friday rather than Sunday so I don't get tempted too much at the weekend.

I had hoped that 7.5 would be the 'magic' dose for me but I've STS this week. My big regret is that after around 4 months of avoiding carbs altogether, I caved and now I think there is a massive link between carbs and weight retention for me.

I've also been HUNGRY this week. So I'll see how it goes this week and then I'll go up to 10 which I really didn't think I would need to do, but there is no point in paying money for nothing. I'm also struggling to poo again despite doing all the right things with fibre which is frustrating.

I've been slack on the exercise, I'm still managing around 10k steps a day but that's it. In my defence I have a cold at the moment so fingers crossed that shifts soon.

So today I'm just pottering round the house trying to sort stuff out. We've still got a list of things to do to finish off the downstairs renovation but with COL rises we're having to hold a couple of things off, I think that this is why I'm finding stalling frustrating!! So I'm going to try to work out a priority list for jobs. I've got an extra dog as mother had a fall & needs to rest and she's following me around like my shadow (that's the dog not my mother)!!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

MoneyJo · 03/10/2026 11:30

I think there is a massive link between carbs and weight retention for me.

Totally agree @taratill . I can carefully log calories but if they're made up of more carbs I definitely stall.

OP posts:
Beehivebabe · 03/10/2026 16:46

Afternoon all.
I also agree about the carbs, I try and keep them to a minimum as it affects my loss and gives me heartburn.
@taratill sorry you are stalling and ‘bound up’, I seem to have the opposite problem since going up a bit so I really don’t want to go to a higher dose. As you say tho, at some point I may have to.
I weighed 14st 8lb this week. We are away next week and this is the first time I haven’t paid for a seat as I’m not worried about where I sit and if the belt will do up haha.

Hope everyone is ok and having a good weekend. Does anyone watch strictly?

MoneyJo · 03/10/2026 23:37

Yes to strictly!

The other thing about carbs is that they're just so calorie dense! I made a lovely beef and veg stew tonight, made little dumplings to go on too then worked out the calories per person of two little dumplings - 280! They were tiny!

OP posts:
ShebaQueen · 04/10/2026 08:01

Another one agreeing re carbs, they derail me too. Pre Mounjaro, the only way I could lose weight was by low carbing, in fact I did the bootcamp on Mumsnet once and was pretty successful. I sabotaged it all straight after of course by going back to my old ways.

Hope you have a great holiday @Beehivebabe isn't it so good to have the freedom of not worrying if a seat belt will fit? I also used to choose cafes and restaurants on holiday based on what type of chairs they had, some look so small and flimsy that I was certain I'd break them. And yes I am a big Strictly fan!
@MoneyJo I love the sound of your stew, this is my favourite time of year and I have normally started making soups and stews by now, definitely need to get started.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

MoneyJo · 04/10/2026 08:58

@ShebaQueen I'm a big fan of soups and stews!

OP posts:
taratill · 04/10/2026 10:53

Morning all!

That stew sounds lovely @MoneyJo! I think I might try to make some soups etc on my day off on Tuesday.

I'm in the office for the first time since January on Wednesday, I'm anticipating a LOT of comments because I now look much smaller than I did last time I was in work because they haven't seen the gradual loss.

Yesterday my carbs were limited to 2 tablespoons of wild rice. I also am trying intermittent fasting so not eating until after 2pm which feels relatively easy for me. Got to try to get this moving again as I've now got used to my weight and can still see that I've got a way to go.

@Beehivebabe Where are you off to on holiday? Hope you have a fab time! Also how is your house move progressing?

@ShebaQueen , yes the only way I have ever lost weight is by low carbing so I should know this but my goodness the cravings can be difficult!

I'm not a strictly fan, I don't think I've ever watched it 😱! The only reality TV I ever watch is Traitors and Race around the world (which is travel porn to me!)

How's everyone else getting on? I'm loving the warm October weather, just disappointed that my normal walking route is still out of bounds due to the fires.

Beehivebabe · 04/10/2026 19:05

Evening all, well I carb’d heavy today having a slice of peanut butter toast for breakfast and a jacket potato with steak 😅
I was 14st 7lb first thing so seem to be losing consistently again. Weird how it fluctuates.
@MoneyJo your stew sounds lovely! I’m the same love soups and stews and so simple to make.
@taratill we are off to Turkey, my husband is having his teeth done and his sister is too 😅 me and my BIL are there to relax haha.
The house move is progressing slowly. We are just waiting to hear about an exchange and completion date. Fingers crossed it will be Early November.
@ShebaQueen I agree it’s very freeing not having to worry about fitting in seats, or anywhere haha.

Beehivebabe · 04/10/2026 19:39

@taratill sorry I meant to say good luck for Weds! Are you ready for the obvious questions lol. I saw some friends on Thursday who I last saw before the summer and the ones I met in the car park were like Woah you’ve lost loads of weight. One friend was like don’t lose too much, which really isn’t helpful. I have lost loads but I’m still obese!! I don’t want to stop yet!
The rest arrived when I was seated and didn’t mention it lol.
anyways good luck, hope you have a good day x

taratill · 04/10/2026 21:02

Oh @Beehivebabe you'll have to let me know how they get on with the teeth. What are they having done? Fantastic that you can have a holiday and they still get work done at the same time! Fingers crossed for the early November house move!

Yeh I'm ready for the obvious questions, I've been off sick though so I wonder if there will be a little caution exercised on that basis.

Beehivebabe · 04/10/2026 22:13

@taratill ahh sorry to hear that, yes I think if you have been off sick that might change things. Hope it goes ok.
My H is having a new top set of teeth, but across 2 appts so let’s hope it all goes ok. His sister was recommended this place from a friend who went there. They arrange the lot, hotel, all transfers etc within the fee. I’ll let you know how it goes!

taratill · 05/10/2026 18:07

@Beehivebabe thanks! I'll report back!

Fingers crossed for your DH! Let me know how it goes.

The scales finally went downwards this morning, phew! Just less than a llb but I'll take it!

taratill · 08/10/2026 16:55

Hello all, this thread is really quiet, hope everyone is OK!

I went back into the office for the first time in months yesterday and no one commented on my weight loss!!! I suspect it's because they think it's related to my sick leave (which it isn't!). Was good to be back in and to have more human interaction though.

After work I took the opportunity to go shopping in the city and managed to get a new bra that fits!!!! Yay! I didn't fancy trying it on there so took a punt on the size and got it right. M&S now do a £10 underwired bra so that's really good on the assumption the size might go down again, it's not too expensive. Does anyone know if it is OK to put used bras into charity bags, I have some good quality ones that are in excellent condition that I don't really want to throw away?

I've also changed WLI suppliers and will save £30 a pen from what I was paying MedExpress. I had the online weight verification today which was absolutely fine. I wanted to do this while my BMI is above 27 so glad to have done it, just had to send previous prescriptions so that I can start at the correct dose. Hopefully they will authorise it all soon & send it through, although I do have a couple of doses left on existing pen.

In other news I have had a rumbling stomach for the first time since using the WLI today. DH has had a stinking cold and said he's been really hungry and I've got the sniffles so it could be connected with that. I did the jab a day early this week so I shouldn't be feeling this hungry on day 5.

MoneyJo · 08/10/2026 18:37

Well done @taratill
I wonder if your colleagues just felt a bit awkward to comment.
I think you can send BNWT bras but others would have to go in the rags bin. We have one of those nearby next to a charity clothes bin.

I'm feeling quiet because I haven't lost anything for two weeks! I've kept calories down but not done much exercise. It's been so busy. I still feel like I should have lost a little something at least!
