Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

Hello all, I stayed the same too @rockstarshoes and like you I had some drinks on the Bank Holiday. A few snacks have started to creep back in too, so I definitely need to get on top of that. Feels like lots of us have stalled, maybe this is typical of what happens around the 6 month mark. I have definitely lost some of my motivation.
@SmallTreeDeepRoots great news on your NSV - I have one too, at the weekend I wore a ring that I haven't worn for ages and it was so loose that I could spin it on my finger. Am thinking I might get it resized when I get to my target weight as it has sentimental value and I love it.
The other thing I have noticed is that my shoes are a bit big. Over the summer I was wearing sandals most of the time, so I hadn't noticed, but I dug some loafers out to wear to the office and they don't fit me properly any more! Am going to try insoles before I ditch them as I don't want to have to replace all of my shoes (and maybe boots too).
Hope everyone has a good evening and a successful week ahead.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 07/09/2026 18:38

@ShebaQueen Shoes hadn’t even occurred to me! Insoles are a good call though. I find it hard to justify spending on temporary clothes, and probably a host of mental issues causing me to slob about like a scruff. But for the first time EVER I feel that I will get to a decent weight and it will be worth spending time and money looking fabulous when (not if!) I get there. But I would tell a friend to have nice things on the way down too. If I’m ever off the mj, will move the money over to therapy for sure.

ShebaQueen · 07/09/2026 18:47

My goodness @SmallTreeDeepRoots I feel exactly the same! I haven't been able to bring myself to get rid of any of my size 20 stuff and I keep putting off buying anything new. Like you, I do feel that I will get to target and that in itself is a whole new concept for me!
I'm looking forward to us all encouraging each other to buy fabulous new clothes when we hit our targets!

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 07/09/2026 21:09

@ShebaQueen We will be fabulous! In fact we probably already are!

MoneyJo · 08/09/2026 07:52

We were out for a celebratory dinner last night at a Nepalese restaurant. I was a bit worried about finding a way to eat well but it all worked out. I chose a light starter of a couple of tiny momos, then had a curry with no carb. I had a spoonful of dal and finished off with an affogato while everyone else had full on deserts. The affogato had one ball of ice cream so wasn't too heavy. We do eat out fairly often (any chance for a celebration in our family!) and I am enjoying the challenge of managing my MJ appetite with choosing dishes. Plus I really enjoyed every mouthful.

I just wanted to post this because I know sometimes we see posts on this board about people worrying how MJ will affect their enjoyment of food and eating out.

Morning all, I'm now in North Yorkshire en route to the Highlands with the dogs.

Really feeling what everyone is saying about diet fatigue. Yesterday I actually ate very little, it was a long drive and I was just tired when I arrived so quick dog walk and small bite to eat and bed. I've had an amazing sleep, not driving today so going to have breakfast and go for a long walk. I'm just outside a town called Masham which I'm going to explore. No scales for me for more than 2 weeks which will be interesting!

@SmallTreeDeepRoots and @ShebaQueen you both are fabulous. 20 to 14 is amazing Small Tree, bet you couldn't imagine that 6 months ago! Sheba I also am noticing it with shoes. I bought a half size down in running shoes. You don't imagine feet being fat!!!

I've lost 1/2 in on my wrists too which is good. Iwatch strap is doing up three notches tighter than in march.

Small Trees, go do the jeans shopping! You will look and feel better in clothes which fit, you can always sell on vinted if you don't need them for long!

@rockstarshoes hope the logging on myfitness pal works. I managed proper logging for a grand total of 3 days. Calorie counting is really not for me. It stresses me out!

@MoneyJo glad you enjoyed the nepalese, I love nepalese curry!

ShebaQueen · 08/09/2026 10:40

@MoneyJo your dinner out sounds great! You're right that sometimes people fear that Mounjaro will ruin their enjoyment. I still enjoy eating out, I always look at the menu beforehand though and try to plan my choices.
@taratill glad to hear your holiday is underway, hope you have a great time, your plans for today sound perfect.
Calorie counting, is not for me either, it seems to work brilliantly for others though.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 08/09/2026 12:48

@MoneyJo I really think you have the best attitude! It’s a long term game and life has to happen. If we spend this period all strict and monk-like, how will be cope with maintenance. And there are nearly always some better choices to make, or the choice to rein it in before and/or after an event to balance things out.

@rockstarshoes Good luck with the calorie logging. I’ve avoided it so far, but expect I will have to knuckle down and do it as I get nearer to target. Let us know what works for you so I can see what I can apply when I get there. The prospect fills me with dread tbh.

@taratill Very jealous of your trip! Enjoy Masham and your day off driving.

MoneyJo · 08/09/2026 13:11

Thanks @SmallTreeDeepRoots I totally agree! I'd be a rubbish monk anyway 😃

Afternoon all from soggy Essex haha

I agree with all the comments about buying new clothes when you want to lose more. Also still can’t visualise myself as being smaller as I look in the mirror and still see an overweight woman. Perhaps not as overweight??

I bought a pair of size 18 trousers which fit well, and a couple of basic tops and a jumper. Just so I have something when the weather turns. I was wearing 24 but I must have really been 26 if I’m honest with myself.

Anyway today I weighed 14st 13lb so 5 stone off!! Can’t remember ever being 14 something haha.

@MoneyJo that curry sounds lovely! We still go out a lot and like you it’s just picking well. Love a curry!!
@taratill enjoy your break and exploring new places.

Everyone is doing so well and omg I thought the shoes thing was just me. I've lost about half a shoe size.

52lbs off so far, my top has gone from a 14 to a 8/10 and bottoms a 16 to small 12.

I've been shopping hard the last 2 weeks and also clearing out anything that is too big or ugly. The last few years I was lost clothes wise as I was just buying things that would cover me up. Being just over 5ft the weight was very obvious. Ive always loved fashion and quirky stuff but just didn't want to show myself like that bigger.

I want to lose another 17lbs but really just need tummy and upper arms slimming down so will see where I get nearer Christmas. All the tops I have bought will be fine as I won't get smaller there but I do have a very prominent belly. I've had a lot of surgeries over the years so maybe the only way is a tummy tuck. I would consider it, but only after I've maintained for a year.

Health wise, I no longer have joint pain and my liver function is normal after having a fatty liver for years! If I need to stay on a low maintenance dose for the long-term I think I will do that. I guess the main change is I feel like ME again. No longer dreading holidays or meeting up with friends and loving picking nice outfits to wear. And yes to looking at the menu before you head out and feeling more in control of what I fancy. God this stuff has been totally life changing.

Sorry for the long rambling 😁

MoneyJo · 09/09/2026 21:15

Hey everyone 👋
I’ve not been on this thread for ages. I was plodding along, slowly losing with the odd fluctuation. I can’t afford to carry on with MJ and I got to a weight I was happy with, so I split my last dose in my last pen to 2 x 2.5mg. I have been tracking everything I eat. My hunger has definitely come back on the lower dose and I’ve been very hungry this week. And I’ve put on 2kg 😫I have been sticking to 1500 calories a day. There have been a couple of days where I’ve gone over but never more than 1800 calories. I got to 2 HIIT classes a week and I always do 10000 steps a day, most days quite a bit more. I’m feeling pretty sad about it all.

Although I have largely stuck to my calories, there were some days on the higher dose of MJ that I only ate 1000 calories cos I wasn’t hungry, but now I am eating 1500 every day so the weight is creeping on.

So, I’ve decided to try the wegovy pills. I’ve ordered some and it’s about £100 for a month supply so a bit cheaper than what I was paying for MJ. I need something to help me stick to a lower calorie range and I’m hoping once I figure out how much I can eat in a day/week to stay the same weight, then I can come off them.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 11/09/2026 10:54

@Darkspiderplantwhat weight are you? That sounds like the diet and lifestyle of a very slim person.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 11/09/2026 10:55

Well done @Beehivebabe great progress! @nickdrakeslovechild I agree with your post so much, the difference mentally far surpasses the physical difference.

I’m just under 11st.

That's my target, 10 10 to be specific. It sounds a bit daunting to be honest. I don't know if I'll be able to maintain that! Well done for getting there.

Beehivebabe · 11/09/2026 22:52

@nickdrakeslovechild such a lovely post to read how happy you are and also the benefit to your health.
I had started to get some hip pain after Xmas and that has gone now even though I still have a long way to go.
@Darkspiderplant well done on your loss, and good luck with the pills let us know how you get on. I had read jabs might be reducing in price but haven’t seen that filter through yet.

ShebaQueen · 15/09/2026 15:42

Hello all, how is everyone doing? Half a kg off for me last week, I've had to work for it though - my own fault as I had definitely not been drinking as much water or exercising as much and some snacks had snuck in. Looking back at my spreadsheet I can see that it's taken me a month to lose a kilo, whereas I lost 3kg the month before. I'm still on 5mg and apprehensive about increasing my dose due to side effects, I am also not sure that food noise has increased, if I am honest, I have just been a bit lazy and have also overindulged every now and then.
What dose is everyone else on currently? I need to order in the next few days so will have to make a decision. I've had side effects since I started in March, so maybe I should just accept that they'll always be there... I still have some way to go to get to target.

MoneyJo · 15/09/2026 19:34

Hi @ShebaQueen did you have many side effects previously? I hesitated to go up but am on 10mg now and it's made a real difference. I haven't had any side effects.

OP posts:
Beehivebabe · 15/09/2026 19:43

Evening all.
I am getting 7.5mg pens but clicking to 50 atm. The second week I did this, I had an upset stomach for a week but it could have been anything really I guess. But it’s put me off going higher.

Ive stayed the same for a week. @ShebaQueen I feel the same as you, in that I’ve not drunk enough water and I’ve eaten more altho I can’t say food noise is back. I feel I’ve lost a lot quite quickly and I’m trying to slow it down a bit for a while.
@MoneyJo that’s good that going up has helped you, have you started losing well again?

Plumetti · 15/09/2026 22:54

@ShebaQueen I very slowly and cautiously moved up to 5mg over 4 weeks or so from 2.5mg. I had stalled and was feeling quite disheartened, and for some reason nervous about increasing my dose.

But, now I’m at 5mg, side effects are slight (slight nausea for a couple of days following injection) and suppression is working well.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 15/09/2026 23:32

I’m on 5. Was considering going up as on a bit of a stall. But doubled down on the basics and starting to lose a bit again. Second dose tomorrow so will give it another week and decide what to order next then. If I’m losing, I’ll stick. But I am happy to increase as needed - it’s a lot to pay for no result.

Bought some jeans - size 16! Tried some t shirts on, and I’m a 16 really - that size 14 workout top was an anomaly as suspected, but still wearing it with pride! Bra size is now 34F (from 38 HH) and my chest feels so much more manageable in a proper fitting bra. Love feeling less matronly but it does make my massive belly look even bigger. I’m sure everything will work out proportionally in time!

MoneyJo · 16/09/2026 07:38

@Beehivebabe back to 1-2lb a week thankfully
