Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

Morning. I am also on 7.5 clicking 40 to get 5. Bolt suggested a 10 so I have that coming next week so will continue doing a 5 from that. I am trying to build a stockpile as I am terrified about coming off it, putting on weight and not being able to get it from anywhere.

ShebaQueen · 16/09/2026 08:49

Morning all, thanks for the comments, really helpful to hear how others are managing.

@MoneyJo I've suffered from side effects from day 1, I seem to be really sensitive to the drug, the first few weeks on 2.5 were absolutely awful, but settled into a rhythm where they only lasted for 2 days after jabbing. I've been on 5mg for several months now and still getting the same nausea and headaches for 2 days a week, but they are not any worse than on 2.5. I also have a reaction at the jab site every week, really inflamed and itchy, plus a weird sunburn feeling on patches of skin, my provider tells me it's allodynia. I still think it's worth the discomfort though, no question about it, and am seriously considering going up to 7.5, hoping it my kick start my weight loss again just as increasing dose has done for you.
@Beehivebabe it does seem that as time goes on it's easy to let the healthy habits slide doesn't it? Mounjaro is definitely a tool, not a solution.
@SmallTreeDeepRoots I am a size 16 now too, what a feeling! Well done you! I am wondering if I should stick at 5 and just up the ante on my eating and exercise routine, but like you, I feel that it's a waste of money for no result.
@Plumetti I think slow and cautious is the way I should go too, and maybe buy a 7.5 pen and count clicks like you are doing @nickdrakeslovechild

MoneyJo · 18/09/2026 08:10

Whoop whoop! I have just hit 15 stone 6. I have exactly 4 stone to go to target and have lost 3stonen5 on MJ and 4 stone 10 since I cut sugar.

I've actually lost 4lb this week which is a surprise. I went up to 10 but haven't felt any side effects. I'm hoping next week will be back to 2lb as I don't want to go too quickly.

Well done @MoneyJo! The increase in dose has obviously made a big difference!

Well done @MoneyJo! The increase in dose has obviously made a big difference!

Definitely. Of course now I'm worrying it's too much 😂

@MoneyJo well done 🥰 going up has suited you then! It’s probably kickstarted your loss again like in the early days. So good to have no side effects too!

I weighed 14st 12lb today so a lb off this week. Small but in the right direction! I’m happy to slow down a bit tbh as I’ve now lost 5st 1lb.
Also I’ve hit the stage when everyone is now noticing my loss! Haha. So that feels good. And I’m liking looking at smaller size clothes. However I’m nowhere near where I want to be yet. Although I’ve not actually decided where that is yet haha. Had a vague feeling of getting to around 11st but we shall see.

MoneyJo · 18/09/2026 19:01

It's interesting thinking about a target weight, isn't it? I've got 11st6 in mind because then I would just be in the healthy BMI range. I guess I'll know better as I get nearer to that.

Jab day today. Continuing with 10mg as it's doing its job!
SW 20st2
SW on MJ 18st11
CW 15st6
TW 11st6
4st10 down since cutting sugar, 3st5 down since starting MJ. Exactly 4st left to lose.

Some amazing stats there @MoneyJo what an achievement! You and @Beehivebabe have made me think about target weight, I don't currently have one, but I think it might be quite motivating. According to the BMI calculator I'd need to get down to 74kg (11st9) to get into the healthy range - I was 86kg (13st7) at last week's weigh in, so somehow it feels achievable, which is unbelievable to me, given my history of yoyo dieting. The mid point of the healthy range for me is apparently 64kg, but I am pretty sure that would not look good on me at my height and age.

FitHappens · 20/09/2026 20:02

Well done to everyone on your losses and NSV! I also had a realisation a couple of weeks ago that the “ultimate goal” I thought about when I first started might actually be within reach. I didn’t dare to think that far ahead when I first started but I’ve realised that I WILL get there at some point. I started at 15stone 13lbs. My goal weight is 10stone 3lbs. I am currently 11 stone 10lbs. Comfortably in a size 14 now from a 22. Did buy and wear some size 12 jeans and then trousers though but at what point do you class it as being in that size? I also bought a size EIGHT top/shirt… I am in no way close to a size 8 really but it felt good nonetheless. I’m currently undecided about what to do about dosing… I’m on 5mg and feel like the hunger is creeping back and suppression isn’t the same, but do I go up to 7.5mg or do I just stick it out on 5mg and work with the hunger because I’m going to have to learn to cope with it positively in the future anyway when I come off it altogether…

MoneyJo · 20/09/2026 22:44

I faced the same question @FitHappens but in the end I went up because I wanted more help. I am learning good habits anyway and I figured there's enough time to push my will power when I'm titrating back down!

Money, Sheba, Fit You have all done amazingly well! I have lost another pound! 😀
The amazing thing is, I had bought some Sosander Jeans from a charity shop, been too tight round the waist, anyway tried them on yesterday & they fit me so I got the tape measure out this morning! Lost 1.5 inches!

6.5 inches in total! I’m taking a NSV! 🥳

MoneyJo · Yesterday 21:08

That's great @rockstarshoes !

So my life is going to change next week! I am finishing work, retiring 🎉

My job is so stressful and busy, I sit at my screen for hours! My early retirement ( going on a voluntary early exit) was my motivation for starting the jabs, wanting to be as fit and healthy as I can be for a long retirement.

i have a couple of mini breaks then a new life! I am hoping that my freedom will help speed up my last stone!

Dontlletmedownbruce · Yesterday 21:16

Well done everyone. You are all so inspiring! I had a bra fitting today, I'm throwing some old bras in the bin tonight and it feels good. I'm slower than most of you but steady so that's enough for me. I still enjoy the odd treat or a few drinks and I think that's a better approach. The moment I feel deprived I'll rebel, I know my own pitfalls. So slow and steady. Am 1lb away from a new stone range so when I get there, hopefully this week, I'll really start to focus on end goal. It all seemed too much a few months ago but my confidence is growing all the time.

MoneyJo · Today 07:31

Enjoy your retirement @rockstarshoes !

Well done for your slow and steady @Dontlletmedownbruce

I have realised lately how much my weight is affected by the exercise I get now. I don't think this was as much the case earlier on but it definitely is now.

ShebaQueen · Today 10:35

Congrats on your retirement @rockstarshoes, my job sounds similar to yours, lots of stress, loads of responsibility and chained to my desk and screen all day. I started Mounjaro for the same reasons as you, to be healthier and hopefully enjoy a long retirement. I don't have any definite plans or a date in mind yet though. I hope you'll keep us updated on how you get on in your new life. Well done on your NSV too!
@Dontlletmedownbruce that sounds like the perfect approach for you, we are all different and it's about learning what works. Isn't it great that an end goal feels achievable?
@MoneyJo I have definitely lost motivation on the exercise front. Am still doing it, but not every day and I have found myself making up excuses.

Beehivebabe · Today 11:29

Morning all! So lovely and motivating to read all the positive stories. MJ has been life changing for me and I think so many of you too.

@rockstarshoes well done on fitting into your new jeans, and enjoy your new found freedom! I’m probably a couple of years away from retiring although my old M&S pension kicks in next Jan so might be sooner if I feel like it. It’s a nice feeling to have choices!

Jab day for me sticking to 45-50 clicks of the 7.5 pen. I weighed 14st 10lbs today, so that’s 5st 3lbs off. Literally a quarter of me gone haha.

Beehivebabe · Today 11:33

Oh and I’ve had lots of comments the past few weeks, I guess 5st down has really noticed at last! But for me it’s health reasons too. I had begun to have pains in my right hip after Xmas and it scared me into finally doing something about it. It took me a year to decide to use MJ 😅 I really wish I had done it then when it was cheaper lol
I have so much more energy to just go do things which I now realise was affecting my quality of life. So definitely life changing 🥰
