@MooBaggage I'm so sorry to hear of your loss ❤

It's very difficult to lose someone we love, and I think all of us are (to some extent, anyway) emotional eaters. I guess most of us struggling with our weight are usually doing so because food has been a comfort and the thing we have turned to in the past.

@RobinEllacotStrike sorry to hear about your teen trauma. I know it's difficult but (30 years of teaching teens here) try to remain calm and unflustered when she's kicking off. Have some phrases like, 'Please don't speak to me like that' or 'Why do you feel it's necessary to be rude?' that you can repeat, but certainly make sure that she understands there will be consequences to refusing to comply with requests. I would limit money/phone/screen use and other things I was prepared to pay for if someone was ignoring me or shouting at me. By all means ask her 'Would you prefer to go and stay with your father at the moment?' and make it clear that it's her choice, but that the house rules with you won't change.

(Sorry - don't know if that was helpful or not. Feel free to ignore, but you are certainly not a failure. Teens are tough work)

RobinEllacotStrike · 16/09/2026 09:19

Thanks @Hatty65- I’ve employed all those and have become really good at keeping calm etc. but she’s very defiant. She’s dyslexic / adhd & possibly more & in Y11. Doesn’t want to talk about anything & refuses to do so. It’s exhausting.

I should start a thread.

but on the positive side I’m not eating my emotions 💜🙏🏼

W1 - 2.5kg
W2 - 2.4kg
W3 - 1.3kg
W4- 0.9kg
W5- 0.9kg

I probably want to lose another 30kg to get to happy weight, so trying to get real and come to terms that it is going to take time. It has been fantastic month, but there can not be another month like that - it was just so easy :). 1 kg per week or close to it, is going to be good for me long term

MoneyJo · 16/09/2026 19:14

Two days ago I posted that my weight had bizarrely gone up 3lb overnight. It was clearly water because I weed for England yesterday and woke up 3lb lighter!

Cheesecake53 · 16/09/2026 22:08

@MoneyJo 😁

MoneyJo · 17/09/2026 14:20

I'm really pleased with the move up to 10mg. I've now lost 3 stone 4 since starting MJ and 4 stone 9 since cutting sugar. I would love not to go any higher so hopefully I can stay on this for the rest of however long it takes to lose the next 4 stone to my target.

MooBaggage · 17/09/2026 17:34

that's brilliant @MoneyJo ! I'm teetering on moving down 1lb, but am not quite there yet - I did the shuffling the scales around the bathroom floor and it kept showing me the next 1lb down, but then settling on my current weight.... 🙄 Good job I'm such a patient person. NOT.

I'm still walking - have increased mainly to walking 3 miles, without meaning to - I just have a few routes that I like and seem to be 3 miles, so am pleased with my step count and general fitness.

I'm planning to move down to 10mg after my current 12.5mg pen - in about 3 weeks' time and I'm also moving to taking the MJ every 8 days - it's happened a couple of times accidentally and I've been fine, so am going to do this deliberately as part of moving towards maintenance. I think the last 3lbs will come off over the next couple of months anyway, as I'm feeling so good and sticking to good eating habits - fingers crossed..!

That is wonderful @MooBaggage, you are almost there!

MoneyJo · 17/09/2026 18:44

I've still got 4stone1 to go. When it's only 3 stone something I'll be pleased. I am swimming twice a week but not consistent in my steps. I almost never get to 10k but I'm happy on days I do 7k.

HelenDenver · 18/09/2026 07:33

I have had a hungry couple of days, which is unusual. Still eating “well” but more than usual. Jab today, weigh in at the weekend.

MooBaggage · 18/09/2026 08:11

@HelenDenver I'm definitely more hungry a couple of days before jab day - and even more so if I've had carbs - I tend not to have any rice/pasta/potatoes these days, but if I do, I'm more hungry afterwards 🤷‍♀️. Have you more carb meals than usual, maybe?

That pesky lb has definitely gone today - hurrah!

SW 13.1.25 20st 3lbs BMI 43.0

2lbs to go until healthy BMI 😮😁💪💪💪💪

Hoorah for that pesky lb going!

Maybe a bit more carb heavy than usual the last couple of days - I had whole grain basmati last night and also another shot at lunch with overnight oats (I am not an oats person unless they are in a flapjack, I must reluctantly conclude!)

HelenDenver · 19/09/2026 08:05

Weigh in - only 0.1kg lost 🤔

Oh well, I lost 1.7kg last week despite being on holiday so I guess the average is good 😀

Cheesecake53 · 19/09/2026 12:19

@HelenDenver it is a loss and not a gain and the previous 1.7kg is utterly brilliant! (But I totally get the 🤔maybe time of month or lack of sleep or moon phase or got up with wrong foot on the scale?)

HelenDenver · 19/09/2026 12:59

Thank you @Cheesecake53 it is a little discouraging but then again, I was really delighted with last week.

As you say, it’s still a loss and I have been very tired this week, so done less exercise.

Onwards and downwards!

AmberLime · 19/09/2026 13:06

My BMI is finally in the healthy range!

7st 8 lost since I started on Mounjaro July 2025

@AmberLime Congratulations!!! That is just brilliant! 🥰🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I hope you will be celebrating with a meal or buying yourself something (clothes?!) - such a fantastic achievement 😊😊😊

Are you starting to taper down or just seeing how you go for the moment?

Well done - am hoping to join you soon!

Wow @AmberLime 😍

AmberLime · 19/09/2026 23:17

I want to lose 7-14lb more. The idea of being 9st something blows my mind, but I think ill get there. I don't think I've been under 10st in my entire adult life.

Im aiming for 9st to 9st 7, so I have a buffer. I'll start tapering when I'm in that range.

Currently on 10mg (from a 15mg pen). I plan to go down 5 clicks (1.25mg) per month, but ill see how it goes.

MooBaggage · 20/09/2026 08:31

@AmberLime I'm also aiming to get 7lbs under BMI 24.9 which would put it at 23.9 and then that 7lbs will be my buffer 👍💪

I like the idea of reducing MJ by 1.25mg each month - am going to steal that! And space out to injecting every 8 days...

Hurrah @AmberLime ! Fantastic news. Well done.

Ok, I have questions that are going to make me seem like a newbie instead of the veteran I am. It's increasingly clear to me that a) I am in no hurry to come off b) my local pharmacy I've used since the start are not really supportive of long term maintenance use and c) even if they were, I need to be spending less on the pens.

I need a pharmacy that supports maintenance at 22-23 BMI. Medicine Marketplace say on their website they go down to 22 but don't appear on Monj's maintenance list. And it's unclear how often you need to order to get their lowest prices. Lotus go down to 20 AND use Royal Mail (which is important to me - the whole reason I went in-person was issues with deliveries to my house: RM are the least likely to fuck it up & lob my MJ into some random neighbour's garden) and seem competitive on price for 5mg.

Right now I'm leaning towards Lotus but if anyone has any other recommendations, I'm here for them. I don't really care about pastoral support, obviously. It's reliability, cost, deliveries and being chill about using a pen for longer than 4 weeks which matter most.

How long does it usually take from initial contact to getting a pen? I've got a brand new 5mg in my fridge which will last me 6 doses from Monday with my plan to take 3.33mg (ie 40 clicks). I'm not sure when to pull the trigger on ordering my next one.

Anything else I should think about?

Thanks in advance you lovely lot. 😁
