Back from just under a week away and have put on... 0.15kg

I think I can live with that!

MiaN · 02/09/2026 06:40

I am very happy with week 3 result. I think in my mind I will keep 1% of current weight as weekly weight loss goal. I feel so grateful 🙏. I have done my little stenght workouts every mooring, 21 days. Followed by 50 min walk. Ate healthy whole foods. Food prepped abs brought my own food in work. Hit my protein and macro goals. I feel grateful the 💉 are giving me the head space to stick to my behaviour goals

MoneyJo · 02/09/2026 06:41

What a great start @MiaN

Cheesecake53 · 02/09/2026 06:46

Welcome back @HelenDenver! Did you work hard to have that low gain or did it come easily?

HelenDenver · 02/09/2026 08:11

Thanks Cheesecake

We had an Airbnb so I cooked for myself sometimes and was armed with my trusty pre cooked prawns and pre cooked salmon, plus lentil pouches, feta, eggs and M&S pop marks fizzy drinks for fibre.

I had two fancy restaurant meals where I picked fish and I tried to make good choices at less fancy places eg avocado and eggs on toast. Did over 10k steps a day just walking around too. Tracked everything as best I could in Nutrachecj.

I am travelling again soon so will be on it for the next few days and then will try to do the same.

MoneyJo · 02/09/2026 09:15

That's brilliant @HelenDenver and how things should be on MJ I think. Every time I read a thread from someone saying they want to ditch the jab for their holiday so they can really enjoy the food I think that I would rather keep the jabs going and practise good habits. You have done exactly that and it's worked. Well done.

HelenDenver · 02/09/2026 09:22

Aww thanks @MoneyJo <3

MooBaggage · 02/09/2026 09:52

@MiaN you are in the zone! This is a brilliant start and I'm hugely impressed with everything you're doing right from the beginning - it took me a while to add in hand weights and other really good habits - you've completely got it 😍

@HelenDenver Well done on your holiday non-weight gain! I do the same - continue on the jabs and try to balance holidayness (usually more alcohol and a bit more carbs!) with not going too crazy. I've come home before a few lbs heavier but shift it within the week, which reassures me it's water and not fat gain!

I'm also in the zone - but obvs it's only September 2nd...! Have done my 2 mile walks yesterday and this morning and am feeling all healthy and virtuous 😇I've also upped my handweight usage and have ordered a 10kg kettlebell which is arriving tomorrow, as I've been using an 8kg for a good while now, so think I should stretch myself a bit more. It'll probably stay pinned to the floor while I attempt to shift it, but will give it a go 💪💪💪

@MooBaggage Please tell me (in small words) what you do with your kettlebell. I am intrigued by them at the gym. I like to pick one up that approximates my current weight loss and that’s very motivating, but I am guessing there is more to it! I really want to up my weights game - have started doing a hand weights class which is murder but feels good the following day. Kettlebells could be another thing to add in!

MooBaggage · 02/09/2026 12:15

@SmallTreeDeepRoots I am definitely no expert! I've picked up some moves from Instagram, as my feed is now full of middle aged women doing handweights and kettlebell stuff 🙄😀 I do the thing where you pass it from hand to hand around your waist - round the world-type thing? And I do the thing where you hold it in front of you with both hands - going from a squat and kind of throwing it up to catch it (but not a big throw at all!) and lifting it above your head. Then bent over going around each leg in a figure of 8 passing it from hand to hand.

All a bit tricky to explain! But if you google kettlebell moves, suddenly your social media feeds will be full of videos - I only do a few minutes a day, but definitely feel it the next day...!

Cheesecake53 · 02/09/2026 12:40

Thanks @MooBaggage, off to google kettlebell moves!

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 02/09/2026 13:04

@MooBaggage Thanks! My socials are full of ai-d ancient ladies doing tai chi and turning into 20 year olds, so will try and fix that by searching kettlebell moves. But you explained well - I will have a go in the gym to find what weight to start with then move on from there. I’m doing a couple of hand weight classes a week, but want something a bit different to do at home so this will fit I think. Currently doing barre moves by the kitchen worktop instead of scrolling while waiting for food/drink, but will also look for some proper short routines. I did a class years ago and it was very good, but none locally to me here. Will go all out for a mid-life crisis ig feed! If anyone has any recs for short barre or kettlebell folks, let me know.

Hatty65 · 02/09/2026 16:03

Oh @MooBaggage and others, kettlebells is a good idea.

I did a weekly class in it years ago which I quite enjoyed, and I bought myself a kettlebell. I've got a feeling it might be lurking in the bottom of a wardrobe somewhere, so if I've got the energy (I have chronic fatigue syndrome) I might fish it out and do a bit. Even if I just start with 5 round the worlds, or something!

Hatty65 · 01/09/2026 19:08

@MooBaggage Thank you so much and hello to all!

First injection went well, and I am feeling good. Very little appetite but have no apparent side effects so far. I'm someone who used to eat whether they were hungry or not and so I've sort of continued that in very small portions.

Yesterday I had one slice of rye bread with 1/2 avocado and a poached egg on it and then at teatime I had a piece of cooked salmon and a microwaved pack of mixed veg. Also a banana later on.

Today I've had 20g of porridge with greek yoghurt, blueberries and flax seed and just had another piece of salmon with a corn on the cob for tea.

I'm trying to prioritise protein, fibre and veg. Oh - I've also had several prunes in juice each day as I read that constipation is likely.

I don't think I'm going to weigh myself until I've done the first 4 injections, and just see how the first month goes. I'm currently 17 stone 10lb.

Many thanks for welcoming me.

Your food sounds lovely and you may be eating between those lovely meals you've listed but please make sure you are eating enough. It's easy to get sucked into small amounts if your appetite goes but it catches up with us all and we need to be in this for the long haul. Too few calories leads to a faster weight loss but can cause issues and plateau-ing down the line
Use a TDEE calculator which will tell you how many calories you need each day to stay the same weight then take 500 off to give you a rough guide for a steady and healthy weight loss

HelenDenver · 02/09/2026 20:41

Good first day back on it - feta and mushroom omelette for breakfast with edamame, batch cooked chicken and black beans from the freezer for lunch and batch cooked lean mince bolognese with broccoli (not pasta!) for tea.

Hit calorie, protein and fibre goals 🙂 Didn’t make it to the gym but will go tomorrow!

Thank you so much, that's very helpful actually.

I do need a better relationship witih food - I usually eat quite healthily and then snack on rubbish in between. This week, because a) I'm genuinely not thinking about food and b) the WLI are expensive so I feel I need to give it a proper go I have just cut the sugar and crap and snacks out.

But actually, you are right that I should be aiming for eating the 'right' amount, not just something that I'm guessing at. I've spent a lifetime of see-sawing up and down with my weight and would like this to be the last time!

QueenOfHiraeth · 03/09/2026 09:47

I'm retired now and not had time to ask my ex-colleagues but I have read more about this supposed price reduction.
It is not an "across the board" price drop, but is the introduction of the Lilly Direct scheme rather than a reduction in wholesale price for all pharmacies to pass on. This scheme means pharmacies can apply to become dispensing partners with Lilly and, if approved, they will be able to buy MJ in at a much lower price than via normal pharmacy wholesalers but, as you can imagine, there are lots of conditions to this including number of MJ prescriptions dispensed monthly, buying power, etc. and more
Chemist and Druggist are reporting the reductions as stemming from "specific commercial mechanisms and pharmacy-level restructuring" so not a true price reduction as the public would understand it because it won't apply to all.
It does look like this could favour the big suppliers by allowing them to charge less than the smaller companies and it will be interesting to see if the rumours of bundles/multiple purchases are true. Personally, I think it's a little concerning allowing big pharma to have this level of control over the market but most people will have no choice other than to follow the £££
Time will tell...

childfreebychoice · 03/09/2026 12:04

Great work sticking to plan while you were away @HelenDenver ! Holidays are usually my downfall but I've got a week in Torquay coming up soon and am determined to make better choices.

MooBaggage · 04/09/2026 06:27

1lb off - hurrah! Am celebrating every single one now, as it might be a while before it happens again!

SW 13.1.25 20st 3lbs BMI 43.0
CW 4.9.26 12st 0lbs BMI 25.5

4lbs to go... feel like I've bludgeoned this last lb off with walking and weights! My legs are ridiculously sore, considering I'm only walking 2 miles a day - it's the doing it every day that's the killer - but just shows how unfit I am 🙄🤦‍♀️

I'm enjoying planning my routes each day though and I've got podcasts on the go as I walk. Shouldn't think I'll carry on after this month, but you never know 🤷‍♀️

Next stop, the land of 11 stone something... 😮😮😮

Onwards and downwards, losers! 💪💪💪

So nearly in the 11s @MooBaggage - I'm cheering you on. I always like reading your posts because I started a pound less than your SW and am hoping to get where you are now. How long have you been on the jabs?

I hit 3 stone down on my MJ SW this week, and 4 stone 5 down on my WL SW. Slow work now though so I'm planning to go up with tomorrow's jab.

GiveMeWordGames · 04/09/2026 09:08

Hurrah @MooBaggage ! I love that your new routine is already paying dividends. And you're soooo close now! 💪

And great MJ milestone too @MoneyJo . 👏

Well done @HelenDenver on your holiday balance and a belated hello to @Hatty65 .

MooBaggage · 04/09/2026 10:59

Thanks both 😊

@MoneyJo I started in January 2025, so 19 months and counting! Hoping to do one more month on 12.5mg and then go down to 10mg, whether I've hit target or not. I want to get used to maintaining (which is pretty much where I am) on a lower dose, but will titrate down very slowly and keep a close eye on how my body is doing. I've moved down from 15mg to 12.5mg and so far so good - no food noise and I'm still eating the right things 🤞💪

I went all the way up to MJ 15 & I'm now back down to MJ 7.5 & still feeling great.

Went on holiday for 2 weeks and LOST ONE KILO <faints>

Tirating down has been a successful stratedgy so far though I'm still not sure what my end game will look like.

Hatty65 · 04/09/2026 16:18

Congratulations to all! Those are amazing results, so well done!

You are giving me hope and inspiration. 2nd jab today, and still feeling fine.
