If anyone isn’t sure about moving up a dose, I would say don’t! I did my second 0.5 mg dose on Tuesday and I’m barely able to eat now. Thirst is all but gone as well. I can’t afford to lose muscle mass. It’s gone 4 o’clock and I haven’t had anything since breakfast apart from 30g salted peanuts that I had to make myself eat. I’m going to try and drink a pint of water and get something else to eat now.

@Lexy2345 having to force myself to eat and drink.

I’m currently 10 weeks in and 10.5 lb down in total but the scales were 1.5 lb lighter yesterday so I’m not worried about it being less than half a pound off this week.

My DS is graduating this Friday so I have a new dress - in a smaller size - and lovely new shoes to wear. Makes it all worthwhile. Smile

I'm about to order my 3rd pen and I'm going to stick with 0.25 for another month.
Don't weigh until Wednesday but I've lost a stone in 6 weeks which is absolutely fine. And I took some constipation relief tablets after being bunged up for a week and it was a horrific 36 hours so I don't want to have to do that again!

Teaxberspet · 26/07/2026 21:23

Hi All, increasing after the first 4 weeks to 0.5 on Tuesday. We go on holiday next week. Can I leave it behind and eat and drink on holiday or should I continue with it?

WoIsMe · 27/07/2026 06:10

I would keep it going while you’re on holiday.

blibblibs · 27/07/2026 06:58

I go on holiday next week and I'm planning on still taking it.

TicklishBiscuit · 27/07/2026 07:34

I'm just back from a weeks all inclusive holiday. I didn't take it with me, I ate well (made much better sensible choices) had drinks. Made sure I drank lots of water and still had electrolytes. Weighed myself yesterday and put on 2lbs in a week. Still felt full quickly so didn't each as much as I would usually on an all inclusive holiday.

Ive been taking .25 for 7 weeks and had lost half a stone. So I'm happy with only the 2lb on.

LoSlo3toGo · 27/07/2026 09:19

@Frieda86: that’s a great loss and will be improving your health:)

sometimes it just takes a little while for our brains to catch up and ‘see’ the difference

I'm moving up to 0.5 next month, I have been on Wegovy since 13th June and have lost 7.5kg in total - but only 0.4kg last week, and I'm starting to feel hungry all the time. I'm going on holiday at the end of September and really want to be significantly lighter by then. My biggest downfall is wine - empty calories, I know. However, onwards and downwards!

@Lexy2345- that’s a brilliant loss, around 3 pounds a week … hopefully 0.5 will suit you

TerrorAustralis · 27/07/2026 12:23

@Frieda86 do you have a lot to lose? Do you think that’s why it’s hard to see it yourself?

TerrorAustralis · 27/07/2026 12:31

@Teaxberspet I took it on holiday. I still ate what I wanted, just smaller quantities.

I went up to 0.5 last week and honestly don’t feel a difference, except that my bowels have slowed down! It’s quite annoying. My first few weeks on 0.25 I really felt a difference in appetite and fullness which now seems to have died off.

I still have less food noise, but I often get quite hungry before meals and am tempted to snack. Although resisting the urge to snack is a bit easier.

Weightloss also seem to have slowed, and I have only lost about 3kg/6lbs since starting. Honestly, feeling a bit disheartened with it all.

Astravanga · 27/07/2026 13:25

Sorry you're feeling disheartened @TerrorAustralis to me that's still a significant loss, it's nearly half a stone! Think of it as being gone forever and a healthier life being already underway!

I haven't had dramatic weight loss either, one or two pounds a week, but people have noticed and I've also dipped into the next stone down (14st instead of 15 st). So if these are permanent changes, which I'm determined they will be, it's already a positive.

TerrorAustralis · 27/07/2026 13:46

@Astravanga thanks. I am trying to keep the attitude that my weight is lower than when I started and lower than what I was at the start of the month. But I guess I expect a little more magic!

LoSlo3toGo · 27/07/2026 14:57

@TerrorAustralis: I can understand feeling disheartened, my weight loss has been very slow (approximately 1 pound a week). I think see how you go on 0.5mg

re the bowels - it’s not exactly a side effect, slowing the digestion is one way wegovy works to keep you fuller

i found fybogel very helpful when I was feeling the effects

@LoSlo3toGo it’s weird because on 0.25, I had the opposite issue. Not diarrhoea exactly, but things moving quickly. Now on 0.5 it’s the opposite. Anyway, that’s enough TMI from me!

TerrorAustralis · 27/07/2026 12:23

Possibly. Definitely got a lot to lose! Starting weight was 125kg 😔

Astravanga · 28/07/2026 08:22

@TerrorAustralis I get it. I expected to magically wake up thin after a couple of jabs 😂 But weight loss is still weight loss. For what it's worth, on my Wegovy box it says that it usually takes a couple of months to get going! So if it's so common that it's on the box, I wouldn't despair yet 🙏🏻

For myself, I'm a couple of pounds down despite party life this past week. I did eat a bit of everything, but I suppose it was a lot less than in the past. Happy to keep plodding on like this.

WoIsMe · 28/07/2026 10:14

Just checking in. I did my 11th jab today (8x0.25mg, 3x0.5mg) and I’m ten-and-a-half pounds down in ten weeks. 💪

I’m not so hungry, I’m not thinking about food all the time, and I’ve finally managed to give up caffeine (which has been my goal for years.) My clothes fit better, I bought a dress one size smaller for my son’s graduation this Friday, and I’ve had to tighten my watch band one notch.

I can’t wait to see where I’ll be after six months of this.

I realised I miss-wrote about the weight loss. It’s only 2kg/4.4lbs in 4 weeks - even less than what I wrote. Official 5 week weigh-in tomorrow, which hopefully should see a bit more off.

@Frieda86 I think it can be hard to see when you have a lot to lose. But also, sometimes we just don’t see ourselves objectively. I am a big believer in measuring as well as weighing. It really shows you that you are shrinking, even if you can’t see it. The tape measure doesn’t lie.

LoSlo3toGo · 30/07/2026 13:01

@TerrorAustralis: after a good loss in week one I am finding it slow going too, about 6/7 pounds in 2 months …

Im going to see how I get on with 0.5mg over the next few weeks and then take a decision

blibblibs · 30/07/2026 18:21

My weight loss was great to start with but I've only lost 1lb in the last two weeks. I'm telling myself at least it's something but I was hoping to keep at the same early losses pace.

Astravanga · 01/08/2026 13:13

Ive just had a bit of a surprise with an email from Bolt telling me I've ordered the next batch of 0.5! I was actually going to log in and re-order today, but it's good to know for future reference that it does it automatically just in case I don't want the same order again!

TerrorAustralis · 02/08/2026 04:42

I had a bit of an awkward situation last night. We went to SIL and her partner’s place for dinner. First up was a starter that everyone served themselves, except it was something I don’t eat so they made me a separate starter which ended up being twice the size I would have wanted.

Then they served up everyone’s main. For some reason, I ended up with the biggest plate of food! Of course I wasn’t able to finish it. Then I said I’d have a little bit of dessert, but I was given the same amount as everyone else. And again I couldn’t finish it.

It wasn’t the biggest deal, but I didn’t really enjoy having attention drawn to how much I was or wasn’t eating. It also reinforced how much I don’t like having someone else serve up a plate of food for me! That was how my mum did it when I was growing up, but DH and I have always put food on the table and let everyone serve themselves. I much prefer adults being able to be in control of what they take (or don’t) without it having to be a discussion.

Sanch1 · 02/08/2026 07:55

I know what you mean @TerrorAustralis we
went to a bbq at my in laws the other week and I ate more than I wanted because I didn’t want attention drawn to the fact I was eating less! I had a burger and was done. But felt like I should have some chicken/potatoes etc like I usually would. Took me ages to eat it bit by bit. We had a bbq at ours last week and being host it was much easier to navigate and not be noticed what I was eating!

Astravanga · 02/08/2026 17:32

I've had a few like that this summer too. Massive amounts of food at parties or barbecues and it's socially the done thing to eat loads. A couple of times I've eaten past feeling full and that's been quite uncomfortable. But people have usually been ok with you making an excuse about the heat or whatever and don't badger you too much.

Thoroughly enjoyed my one sausage, one spoon each of all the salads and dips, and one corn cob at my last barbecue last week! Felt so satisfied and full. Still getting used to the difference.

TerrorAustralis · 03/08/2026 12:56

@Sanch1 @Astravanga I think in a serve-yourself or buffet situation, people notice less what you’re eating. Depending on the barbecue or party set-up, if people are moving around it’s easy not to be noticed IYSWM.

But for ourselves we need to normalise eating less. (Rude) people might comment, but even if they notice, they’ll eventually get used to it.
