LoSlo3toGo · 28/06/2026 17:17

Good morning everyone, quick update I'm doing my 4th jab this afternoon but before I do I weigh myself and I'm over the moon with myself altogether I've lost 19lbs within this month 🥰. The difference it makes is brilliant, I got no symptoms on my last dose so I'm happy with that.

Today I'm at my son's opening afternoon and I jab around 2:30 I'm not entirely sure if I'll be back in time to take it out of the fridge for half an hour, if I do it before I go to work which is 11:30 would it be ok to be left out till I'm back?, the opening afternoon starts at 1:30 I'll be there till 2pm max as it gets to crowded, it's a 10 minute walk back home it should be ok right?

Hi @Emowoman90 I think you actually don't have to refrigerate the pens once they're open any more. Because you use them up well within their use-by date. But even if you want to, I'm sure a couple of hours out of the fridge will be ok (not on a hot sunny windowsill etc).

And some good unexpected news from me this morning. I'm into my 4th jab and my period seems to have returned! Due to being obese and having insulin resistance, I haven't had a period for years. So that was a welcome surprise!

@Emowoman90 19lbs in 4 weeks is phenomenal! Well done. Have you been counting calories or just eating less?

TerrorAustralis · Yesterday 12:10

@Emowoman90 well done! 19lbs is amazing.

My pen says it doesn’t need refrigerating after opening, as long as it’s kept under 30 degrees.

I’m only on day 6 and have so far had a few mild symptoms come and go. Sometimes feel a bit off, something like very low-grade morning sickness. And that feeling of being a bit hungry, but nothing is appealing to eat.

I’m paranoid about getting enough protein - I’ve heard lack of protein is the main thing that causes hair loss. I’ve got thin hair to start with, so can’t afford to lose any! But over the last week, I’ve struggled to eat pieces of steak and chicken breast. I also struggled to finish my protein shake for breakfast today. I need to work out high protein meals that are appetising. (Any tips welcome!)

@Astravanga: I’ve heard of other cases of periods returning, but is this a cause for concern in any way (ie could you be post menopause age, in which case it might be wise to speak to your GP)

@Emowoman90:19 pounds, wowsers!!!

are you going to stay on 0.25mg as it’s working so well for you?

OP posts:
Astravanga · Yesterday 14:19

@LoSlo3toGo No definitely not post menopause as I'm mid 30s. Had just accepted that I wasn't having period due to combination of being overweight and also having the contraceptive implant. I think the bleeding has actually stopped for the time being so might not be a full period. But still an interesting result of the medication.

LoSlo3toGo · Yesterday 14:46

@Astravanga: good to hear. I’ve read that when the body stores fat it stores oestrogen, so this is released with weight loss which is why some women see a period come back

Hello! I've just taken my first jab. So I guess I'm officially a June starter.

Well done on your (collective) weight loss.

I'm staying on 0.25mg for now symptoms are very low and the suppression is very high, we had a McDonald's this evening (I know bad) but I've not eaten anything today, I couldn't eat it all which is a pretty good thing as once over id of eaten it all and have desert after on top of snacks. I guess I'll move up when the food noise kicks in but so far with a loss of 19lbs it's not doing to bad.

@Emowoman90: it sounds like you are having an amazing response, apparently a small percentage of people do - hope it continues for you!

I got a msg today from Boots telling me it was nearly time for my new pen. I take my last dose this month on Wednesday. So I decided to just stick with another month of 0.25.
I've not really had any symptoms apart from somewhat slower digestion and the suppression is good until about Mon/Tues which is manageable so I'll do another month and see how it goes.
The hope was always to stay on as low a dose as possible and keep a steady lose so I'll continue like this for now.

LoSlo3toGo · Yesterday 21:41

Hi @blibblibs: this sounds like a good plan

You could buy a 0.5mg pen and use lower doses which would give you flexibility to keep at 0.25 or up the dose slightly if you need to over the month

I’ve completed my first month on 0.25 and the final dose was short of a complete dose. I have wound until the pen stops clicking. Dumb question but this is correct ? There are four doses in each pen ?

blibblibs · Yesterday 23:08

@LoSlo3toGo that's a good idea, I may do that next time if the last few days of the week become harder.
It does give me an insight to how little I do actually need to eat and what I'll have to do to maintain at the end of this.
Being short sure doesn't help!

Hi @TheDogsMother: my pen had 4 full doses & 10 extra clicks (there are meant to be 2 clicks of fluid to prime/check the needle flow with each dose)

You can wind the pen backwards as well as forwards - does that help? In your situation I would wind back & inject what is remaining as it will only be 0.02 of you had the full ten clicks left but seems you lost a few ml along the way
