February 2026 starters - thread 2

A new thread for those starting WLI in Feb 2026.
Most of us are on roughly month 5 - how is everyone getting on?

Open to any newcomers too, who may have missed the boat on the first thread!

Thank you @Crossfitgirl for the new thread, and a good prompt to reflect.

15 weeks in for me, and I can't believe the difference.

SW 122.7 kg (19 st 4 lb)
CW 105.0 kg (16 st 7 lb)

My BMI has gone from 45.1 to 38.6.

So far a total loss of 17.7kg (2 st 11 lb), but given how far I've still got to go, no one has actually noticed, other than my DH and DC!

But I feel so much better. I'm more active and drinking much less alcohol. Snacks are creeping back in, but I'm able to limit it to one treat a day or so, compared to a very high junk food diet previously.

I will be actively losing for at least another 12 months, before I even think about maintenance. But I have now moved down from a very tight-fitting size 22, to comfortably in a size 20.

i really appreciate all the support from this thread, even if I'm likely to be the only one still around by Christmas!

Thanks crossfitgirl. Month 5, how did that happen. Re your last post, I’d probably go up a dose, at least slightly, although my pharmacist says it’s not a stall until at least a month with no movement and we shouldn’t rush our bodies, that metabolic change is happening in the background etc. having said that, after a month with little movement a 0.5 increase (of MJ, so that’s very little) definitely got me going again.

I had my 4th dose of 3mg on Friday (after 4 months on 2.5) and a lot of suppression over the weekend although starting to feel today that I fancy some breakfast. I don’t think I’d like to feel as suppressed as that all the time. Was a weird feeling and not one I’ve experienced a lot of before. I’ve also been very tired and achey all weekend, although that feels better today. But a second weekend on the increased dose with no bathroom issues was a plus.

I'm also a secret jabber. This is the first time I’ve been faced with the dilemma of a pen going over 30 days so I’m a bit anxious about that. Given I’ve been micro dosing from a 5mg pen it’s too much to discard. There hasn’t been a heatwave yet where I live so I’m keeping it in an insulated bag in my desk drawer for now. Because it’s not getting opened the blocks are still cold every morning but this won’t work if the weather heats up. What a palaver. Someone has put a notice on the fridge door at work saying ‘no medication or breastmilk to be stored in this fridge. If you have a legitimate reason for requiring cold storage, then please speak to HR’. Yeah right. No way I’m having HR explore the legitimacy of my reasons! Someone has stored spare insulin there for years without complaints so im guessing it’s WLI pens that have prompted this as we already have separate arrangements for breastfeeding women to pump and store safely.

RedApplePie · 01/06/2026 07:29

castlebark I’m not half way there yet and Happy Scale predicts that at my current rate I’ll reach my goal on 15 December, so you won’t be alone 😀. I then expect to be on a maintenance dose for at least 6 months and more likely a year all being well. Although WLI allowed me to intervene before I got near my highest ever weight, I was gaining fast and I need to make it stick this time. I can’t face WW or Low Carb bootcamp or any of the other shit I’ve put my body through ever again. My weight loss isn’t fast but this time it’s pretty painless.

I think I will go up to 0.75, just for a month. I'm currently on 0.5, the next pen up is 1mg (wegovy) so I'd have to go up a full 0.5, when up to now I've only been going up in 0.1/0.2 very small increments! Maybe I'm just a bit of a wuss, but I cannot be having diarrhea or vomiting at work with being out in the community. I probably won't tell Voy as I don't want them to stop prescribing - I asked them before about click counting but they weren't forthcoming. Does anyone else have experience of Voy being ok with it? I am being very cautious.

That's so odd about not allowing medication or breast milk in the works fridge. For what reason?! Seems batshit.

Morning and thanks for the new thread. I felt like I stalled with movement around the same point on the scales for about 3 weeks. I’ve moved up to 7.5mg and it seems to have given me a kick start again.
My SW was 15st 0.8 and I’m now 12st 4.8 which is 38lb down. I’m actually less than a pound away from my pre baby weight from sep 24. My goal is 11st 7 which my app predicts I’ll reach in July. I’m so glad I started in Feb as I’ve loved wearing nice dresses again and fitting in my old clothes.

Also a secret jabber, not told a soul! My pen is hidden in a bag in another bag and in a bigger bag in my wardrobe 🤣

WhoInvitedHer · 01/06/2026 13:38

Thanks for the new thread. I now have 1.1kg to lose so maintenance is looming. I am click counting a 1.0 Wegovy pen to spread it out to 6 weeks and keeping it in the fridge. My prescriber was very anti click counting when I tentatively suggested it so hope there isn’t an issue at purchasing with 6 week intervals as it is so much more cost effective. I’m prepared to be on this for life as I have little self control and always felt hungry before starting the jabs.

RedApplePie · 03/06/2026 23:45

I wouldn’t call these NSV exactly, but they are definitely non-scale changes. First, my high rise size 14 jeans have suddenly become mid rise and dropped crotch 🙈. Oddly they look quite cool and slouchy. Second, I have got crinkly skin on my midriff. I’m sure it wasn’t there this morning and I suddenly look a bit like I’ve had a pin stuck in me and deflated me. I’ve decided as there’s nothing I can do about it I will embrace it instead and view my loose skin as a harbinger of a new me. Go me 😀

soupmaker · 04/06/2026 09:04

Week 17. Scales at 12.12 but I’ve got a tummy bug so haven’t eaten much after being very sick at work earlier in the week and am still not 100%. The 3lb loss won’t remain once I’m back to normal. I should be injecting today but not sure if I should just miss a week and inject next week once the bug has cleared.

SW 15.4
GW 12.0 or less

Ooh sorry you're unwell, tummy bugs are awful! I would hold off until you're feeling better, I've moved my day by a few days here and there and it's never been an issue - they say as long as there are at least 3 days between jabs.
Horrible way to lose 3lbs but at least it's a tiny silver lining to being sick! Hope you feel better soon! X

@theegg2 I tagged you on here as I saw you'd posted on the old thread (it's not quite up to 1000 yet but it's moving on on here. Can you link to your low dose thread? I may join that!)
So sorry to hear about your step mum, will you have to cancel or postpone the holiday do you think?

@RedApplePie I also have a bit more of a crinkly tummy, but I'm also seeing it as a positive! Here's to looser jeans!

@WhoInvitedHer are you click counting 0.75? I've just asked to move up to a 1mg wegovy but plan to only take 0.75. I can't imagine going up by 0.5 all in one go, as I went up in like 0.1mg increments each week til I got from 0.25 to 5 😂
That's amazing you've only got 1kg to go though! I've got about 3kg to go to reach goal, but I've plateaued for ages which is why I'm now increasing. I've been only up to 0.5 up to now!

Thanks @Crossfitgirl for the new thread.

It's so good reading everyone's journeys, successes, SV & NSV they have had.
Congratulations!!! @Crossfitgirl , @RedApplePie , @soupmaker , @Cookiedough123 and @Castlebark . Really good losses.

15 weeks in today for me. So far, I have lost 25 pounds. Went up to 3.5mg last week. I was constantly exhausted & freezing and had total appetite suppression. I barely managed to get 800kcals per day. So going down to 3mg today.

I am still wearing same clothes. When i look in the mirror, i do not look different. I don't see the 25 lbs lost. Where is it lost from?

I am still a secret jabber. Pen hidden behind the egg tray in the door of the fridge, with some odds & ends providing some diversion.

@Cookiedough123 , your pen's hiding place reminds me of the beautifully painted wooden toy Russian dolls... when you open one, there's another slightly smaller one inside and another inside that, and so on.😁

Castlebark · 05/06/2026 10:46

@RedApplePie good to know I'll have company, hopefully you'll be celebrating Christmas in some slinky little outfit. But completely agree this feels different to all my previous weightloss attempts.

Week 16 weigh in for me, and the weightloss is definitely slowing, only 0.6kg off this week. Which is still 1.3 lb, but it was more motivating when it was a full kilo a week!

SW 122.7 kg (19 st 4 lb)
CW 104.4 kg (16 st 6 lb)

So 18.3kg total loss (2 st 12 lb). Hopefully in the next week or so I'll hit 3 stone even.

I've received my next 5mg pen and sadly it's the new style with no golden dose. As I wrote on another thread, in hindsight I should've gone for a 7.5mg pen and click counted to get 5mg. However I'm trying really hard to stick to a low dose, and now that the weightloss is slowing, it would be really tempting to just jab 7.5.

WhoInvitedHer · 05/06/2026 11:15

I’m click counting a 1.0 Wegovy pen to last 6 weeks so 49 clicks and 0.66mg per dose. It feels just enough and I now have around a kilo to go to target. I could easily eat more though so plan to stay on this dose for a while and see if I can eat slightly more and maintain. I already know I will be on some level of dose for life.

newnewnamename · 06/06/2026 22:07

I've changed my name - glad to see a new thread though, I've been messing around and not taking it seriously, but have put myself on a six week arse kick to try and get into last year's summer clothes! Well done all - we all weigh less than we did in Feb.

Saturnista · 07/06/2026 09:07

Hi all, apologies for posting on the old thread. Let’s have a catch-up, shall we?

Really great weight loss @Castlebarkand I’m sure there will be some of us with you until the end of the year. I’ve calculated that I won’t reach my goal weight until next February so don’t worry!

@RedApplePieI’m on the same dose as you. Glad you’re getting the suppression you need. I’m sorry you didn’t get the heatwave.

@Crossfitgirlhow’s your weight loss going and muscle mass increasing? I was going to ask you whether you think some more techy scales are worth it to monitor muscle? I’m going to start doing lunches and squats and then start using weights at home to begin with, one of my girls has 6 kg weights, are they even worth it?!

RedApplePie · 07/06/2026 23:50

I love my body comp scales. A single measurement should be taken with a pinch of salt but the trend data is so encouraging. Even though my weight loss is on the slow side, I can see that all of my losses are fat and my skeletal muscle is increasing steadily. I now have visible definition in my back and arms and my pancake bum is now quite round. My abs are still well hidden though! I’m also lifting very heavy - training deadlifts at 85kg and single maximum lift quite a bit higher, well over a 100kg. As to whether 6kg weights will help - really depends if you’ve done any before. If you haven’t, they might be on the heavy side for now and you might want a 4kg set, or even 3kg. You would benefit from a heavier set for things like bicep work, and something smaller for things like lateral raises. A kettlebell would be a great addition - you can do a LOT with these. Resistance bands are cheap and also worthwhile.

Castlebark · 08/06/2026 07:50

My official weigh in day is Friday, but I do weigh daily.

3 STONE off!!!

There's a very good chance I'll bounce up again before Friday, but I'm a very happy bunny today.

Only 6 stone 3 to go...

RedApplePie · 08/06/2026 08:50

Excellent news castlebark. Congratulations!

RedApplePie · 08/06/2026 09:20

As mentioned before, I’m always changing my units of measurement between pounds/kilos/stones and pounds just to give me lots of mini goals. This morning I’m under 80kg 😀. The next goal will be 175lbs (only a pound away but could easily take me 2 weeks 🙄). After that it will be 170lbs and then 12 stone.

Castlebark · Yesterday 10:26

Congratulations @RedApplePie , under 80 kg would be the lightest I've been since university.

I totally agree on the switching units. I'm normally all kilos, but the 3 stone mark seemed an achievement. Next goal would be 20 kg, but that's only 2 lbs more than 3 stone, so probably too early to celebrate again!

I'm only using my scales to monitor weight and body fat, but I do highly rate it. I've been using them very regularly if not every day, and it's great seeing the pattern. My weight loss had been stalling for ages, but I think I've just dropped half a kilo this week. My main worry was my body fat percentage, which has very encouragingly dropped from 41% to 35%!

I think I only spent about £30 on my scales and they are fine for what I wanted. I would spend up to £50 for decent ones I do reckon they are worth it. I've just noticed mine also track loads of other stuff that I hadn't been looking at!
Can't list them all but my muscle mass has increased, and so has my lean body mass. It shows a graph of the pattern over a week / month etc.
They also automatically update your stats on the app when you weigh, and you can add people to the database so it automatically assigns a measurement to the person, based on who is closest to that measurement. Definitely much more encouraging and useful than weight alone!

Treat yourself!

Some great losses and wins on here lately! Well done everyone!

I increased my Wegovy to 0.75 last night. Whether it's coincidence or not, I've had to go for a poo in a patients house this morning after my stomach went mental, then I've been in the local Asda toilet for so long that the lights all went out and I had to use my phone torch until I could leave the cubicle to trigger the automatic lights again! 😂

Hoping that settles down, but I've got immodium on me and I'm being extremely careful again with what I'm eating while I navigate the increase. Waiting for the increased suppression to follow! I didn't dare go right up to 1mg just yet.

I'm not wanting to continue past 6 months and I've only got another half stone I want to lose, so I really want to push now for a good loss this month. I've got a 8kg kettlebell for home workouts so hoping I can get shit done this week.

DH is away now for the foreseeable so my weeks are manic and I don't expect to get to the gym. It makes it so much harder as I don't particularly like working out at home. I'm so much more motivated at the gym! Anyone got any tips? I just can't seem to push myself when I'm alone at home!
