Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Oh thank you for that info on dopamine levels and sleep Shortsally42, it makes a lot of sense.
You're very welcome HNAN36. Do you find you dream more, or just more viviidly? Sometimes sleeping can be so tiring! 😅
If the waking is recent HelenDenver, could well be the heat? I'm down south and we're in for more 30 degree weather this week, including today. 😔(I'm a winter person!)
Good on you for going to the gym so often. I bought a treadmill and some weights. I've been working out a little one day, then feeling absolutely knackard and good for nothing the next, very frustraiting!

Thanks @Openmouthinsertfood !

That’s very interesting about dopamine @Shortsally42. I didn’t know that. I’ve just started taking Oh! Mg magnesium supplement for sleep so hopefully that will do something.

I have been experimenting with cook ahead breakfast recipes. Veggie and feta frittata - big tick. Baked carrot cake oats - big nope!! (To be fair, the taste was ok but the texture was urgh for me!)

Weekly update from me. I was slightly disappointed to step on the scales this morning and find that I'd only lost 1lb. A loss is still a loss though, and I started focussing on strength training at the gym last week, which I know can make you retain fluid.

I'm in Edinburgh Wed-Sun this week so it'll be interesting to see how that goes! We'll be eating out all meals, but my plan is make sensible choices whilst still enjoying myself, with the aim of not gaining any weight, but being fine with not losing anything this week. I've also located a gym that's 10 mins walk from where we're staying so I'm planning to go there on Thursday and Sunday morning.

Start date: 15 June 2026
Starting weight: 18st 7lb
Current weight: 17st 6lb
Loss so far: 1 stone 1lb
Initial target weight: 12st 6lb

childfreebychoice You're doing good though, you've lost over a stone so far and we are supposed to only lose 1-2 lb a week. Have a lovely time in Edinburgh.
I left a message on my endocrinologists phone line. I really want to start taking a multivitamin or suppliment but even the Boots vitamins say you've got to check with a medical professional first if you are on any medication or are diabetic. Hopefully I'll hear back this week. (Can take up to 5 working days.). Is anybody else taking any extra vitamins or suppliments since starting Mounjaro?

I'm taking magnesium glycinate, I didn't check with a HCP but google seems to think they are OK on various MJ sites.

Made a delicious dinner to make up for my not-nice "carrot cake" oats - high protein pasta with asparagus, edamame, tomatoes and salmon!

Hello all, glad to see you’re all keeping ok.

I had a couple of slow weeks then 1.5lb off last week, although It’s not felt quite the same, but I was happy with easily losing 1.5lb, so re-ordered 2.5mg for my next pen (to start on Friday).

I now wish I’d got a 5mg because the full feeling of suppression only lasted two days after the last jab. I’m eating more and the ability to snuffle around for snacks is returning!

I think I’m going to have to make a concerted effort to eat healthy and burn some extra
calories if I’m going to continue losing for the next 4 weeks. Then I’ll go up to 5.

@Openmouthinsertfood I usually take a vitamin D/K2 spray and marine collagen from Bare Biology, electrolytes from Oshun and Biokult probiotics but I’ll be adding in Biotin from H&B tomorrow as I’ve noticed my hair is losing its condition (could very well be heatwave related too!).
