Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

@helendenver and @JuniperRosy aren't you going to try 3.75mg first before going up to 5mg?

@helendenver and @JuniperRosy aren't you going to try 3.75mg first before going up to 5mg?

I don’t know if I want to count clicks or if I would rather ride out any additional side effects. Might do a couple of 3.75mg.

TheLoupGarou · 06/08/2026 13:27

Hey everyone! I have just been on holiday for 2 weeks so been catching up with the thread - everyone has been getting some great results.

I've not weighed myself whilst i have been away and we ate out a lot. I did take my jabs as normal and did a lot of walking - i also have my period this week so i have decided to chicken out and wait til Sunday (usual weigh day) to see what the damage is....

This week will be my last dose of my second 5mg pen - am trying to decide whether to get another 5mg or go up to 7.5 - i might stay at 5 and try to up my exercise a bit, will see how this week goes. Is anyone else considering going up a dose yet?
I've lost 1st 3lb so far, over the 10 weeks. Started at 13st 13lb, latest weigh in 12st 7lb and i'd like to get to 10st 7lb, so still about 2st to go.
Maybe slow and steady is the way forward....

HelenDenver · 06/08/2026 13:46

@TheLoupGarou I'm going up from 2.5 to 5mg next pen because I could feel the food noise coming back - how are you finding food noise?

TheLoupGarou · 06/08/2026 13:56

I can feel the food noise coming back a bit but it is manageable. I definitely didn't indulge as much on holiday as i would have in the past.

I think i might see how i go this week, back in my usual routine, before I decide....

HelenDenver · 06/08/2026 14:05

That sounds like a good plan.

Openmouthinsertfood · 06/08/2026 16:37

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well? I've been awol as I've been having bad side effects from my new medication but finally talked to a GP today and we've reduced my dose to see how that goes. TBH I did it myself yesterday and do feel better already.
I take my jab today. I must admit, since last night I have been really craving sweet stuff.

Blythwind · 06/08/2026 18:42

Ive just taken my second 5mg jab. Ive had no side effects and having been the same weight for what feels like ages, have had a slight whoosh down to the next stone bracket!

Chiffchaff7 · 07/08/2026 07:09

Good morning all ❤️ Week 7 completed on 2.5 and another 3lb off taking me to 12st 13lb and a total of 1st 13lb lost. I’m absolutely buzzing to be in a new stone bracket! Jab 8 this morning. Hope everyone is well and has a good day xx

HNAN36 · 07/08/2026 08:19

Well done with all the great losses. How is it going for those of you that have increased? I have bought another 5mg pen but going to keep at 3.75mg as the side effects for this are still intense for the first 24-48 hours but at least it’s not most of the week now.

I tried a few dresses on for my holiday that didn’t fit and now do so really excited to be able to wear them again.

Any exercises people recommend that I can do from home for bingo wings? A little worried about the flab /saggy skin there.

SW 80.15kg / 12.8st
W9 71.60kg/11.3st (-1.9lb)
Total loss 1st 4.7lb
TW 9.7st

Sleepeazie · 07/08/2026 10:02

Wow some great losses. I’ve had 9 jabs (4 x 2.5 and 5 x 5) and I’ve only lost 12lbs, which is lower than some of you.

im short (5ft 1) and started at 12:7 - I’m now 11:9. I religiously calorie count, and average 250 under (cautiously low - based on how physically active I am with my job, measurement of) TDEE a day, so I suppose I am losing in line with this.

Definitely could drink more water, and still having alcohol most days- so maybe that’s where I’m going wrong. must try harder! (Although not too hard, as I’ve just ordered my made to measure wedding dress for the end of October).

Openmouthinsertfood · 07/08/2026 10:03

Hi HNAN36, I know probably not a popular suggestion, but have you tried AI for exercise suggestions? I asked Gemini yesterday about exercises for the bust and now have a 10 minute routine planned out for me.

childfreebychoice · 07/08/2026 15:06

Well done on the losses everyone!

That is a great loss @childfreebychoice!

HelenDenver · 07/08/2026 17:31

Well done @childfreebychoice - I'm also a June starter! Around 7.5kg/1st 3lb down so far. Steady losses FTW!

Openmouthinsertfood · 07/08/2026 19:07

Hi childfreebychoice, well done you and Helen on the losess!

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 08/08/2026 17:47

13.10 so another pound.

I've had desperate constipation the last two or three days. Been drinking lots of ice water and finally a Senokat in desperation.

I've also been struggling with constipation.

I've been having m&s fizzy drinks called 'pop marks' they have 7g of fibre and have definitely helped me get more regular again.

Unfortunately I've been having the exact opposite problem - Hence being awake at 5:30am! Took the chance to weigh and measure myself. After 8 weeks I've lost 3" each off my waist and stomach area (Across the bellybutton.) which I'm really pleased about. I lost 2 3/4lb this week meaning a total loss of 1st 11lb.

HelenDenver · 09/08/2026 06:32

@Goldpanther I like those drinks too, very handy for low fibre days!

@Openmouthinsertfood I also keep waking at 0530, not for digestive reasons, just keeps happening. My doctor said the jab shouldnt affect sleep so not sure why!

Took my last 2.5mg dose today and weighed in this morning - weight dropped by 1.2kg this week so I probably didn’t need to step up to 5mg for my third pen after all. Oh well, I have the pen now so will just give it a go next week!

7.8kg/1st 3 lost so far 🙂

Openmouthinsertfood · 09/08/2026 06:41

Aww sorry to hear you keep waking too Helen. I was having a dream about being haunted by Micheal Jackson before I woke???! 😂Do you have black out blinds/curtains in your bedroom? Could daylight be waking you? It's frustraiting though isn't it because you get tired later on in the day.
Congrats on the weightloss this week and so far. Are you following a particular diet? I'm not, just trying to eat a lot of protein (And probably failing! 😅) and eating a lot less than I was.

HelenDenver · 09/08/2026 06:47

We do have thick curtains. Maybe it’s some kind of animal heatwave instinct - “get up, the day is gonna get hot soon, you’d better get a shift on with your hunting and gathering” 😀

I am tracking everything in nutracheck and mainly focussing on protein, fibre and calories. I’m happy to lose slow and steady (my target in the app is 1lb a week) so my calories are 1750 which works well for me. I also go to the gym 2-3 times a week which I was doing anyway before the jabs.

HNAN36 · 09/08/2026 07:31

Well done with your losses everyone 🙌🏻

Thank you @OpenmouthinsertfoodI have been doing Lucy Squad workouts from home which I really enjoy. I have done her arm workouts but not sure they have been doing the job. I will try AI.

@Openmouthinsertfoodand @HelenDenverI keep waking but I keep having such vivid dreams which I didn’t before. Not sure if that’s a side effect 🙈

Shortsally42 · 09/08/2026 07:36

I like a busy morning thread! I'm a morning person.

On the sleeping front, Mounjaro reduces our dopamine levels. From what I've seen and experienced, this can affect some people's ability to sleep, especially if you are already on medication that affects your dopamine levels. I don't sleep as well on Mounjaro, that's for sure.

On the constipation front, here's a TMI alert. I find my bowels seem slower rather than constipated. If I leave things be, I'll go normally just not every day. I've also been away with work a lot too which means not being able to exercise as often. That's not good for weight loss or staying regular.
