Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

I don't handle the heat well anyway, never have. I'm a winter baby, my favourite season. I always say, I think it's easier to warm up than cool down. I'm also in a first floor flat that gets the sun straight on all day.
As for the dr, he actually got in touch with the specialist mental health team, it was their instructions!

childfreebychoice · 14/07/2026 14:08

Yesterday was weigh in/ jab day 5 for me but unfortunately there was no change on the scales. I'm a bit disappointed because I didn't do anything different last week, but fingers crossed it's a one off and might lead to a big loss this week.

Starting weight: 18st 7lb
Current weight: 17st 13lb
Loss so far: 8lb
Initial target weight: 12st 6lb

Openmouthinsertfood · 14/07/2026 14:24

Hi childfreebychoice, I know a lot of people are affected by the heat as regards to their weight. You might find as it cools down you lose a bit.

ElviraZoffany · 14/07/2026 15:42

@bananamachinewater Same! Week 4 and the effects are just getting stronger. I’ve eaten two fingers width of bread, two forks full of orzo salad, and a fork of beetroot and lettuce in over 24 hours and I’m stuffed! Same kind of amount every day since jab day on Sat. This is the strongest week yet.

I’ve lost a stone in under four weeks and I’m wondering if I should space out the doses a bit more to give me a few more days of appetite to get some nutrients in.

@HelenDenver devised a genius way of me being able to manage using my pen over my holiday but I’ve left it at home. I think I need a week off.

HelenDenver · 14/07/2026 15:43

A671090 · 12/07/2026 07:30

Wow this is brilliant, can you feel it? Clothes looser?

Sorry - missed this!

A lot of my clothes are forgiving (elastic waistbands!) but my leggings for the gym are definitely a better fit. Hoping that trousers start to look better over my tummy soon...

HelenDenver · 14/07/2026 15:49

@ElviraZoffany oh no! That sounds like really challenging suppression. Sorry you left your pen at home but hopefully it means you can eat some nice food with your family on your holiday week.

@Openmouthinsertfood yes, not too bad, felt a bit nauseous this morning but that has passed. Otherwise fine (and glad to be cooler!) Sorry about the meds screw up, that's the last thing you need with everything else!

littleraecloud · 14/07/2026 16:17

Jab 5 this morning and managed to force the 5th dose from my 'finished' pen. It was actually really easy....barely any forcing at all!

It didn't look like quite a full dose though, but nevermind.

The scales are not moving still BUT I've def lost some inches. I can definitely see a difference in my body & it's frustrating not seeing a difference on the scales. Trying not to feel too disheartened. Don't really understand it tbh.

HelenDenver · 14/07/2026 16:31

@littleraecloud do you have body analysis scales? I have put on about 1lb of muscle over the course of the first pen so that's a nice thing to know if other markers are flat!

Openmouthinsertfood · 14/07/2026 17:58

Hi ElviraZoffany, you can really understand why you lose muscle as well as fat when your so supressed can't you?! I had been exercising but stopped last Friday as it was too hot in here and I felt too ill anyway.
littleraecloud, Hey, losing inches and seeing the difference is good! I'm sure your weight will catch up, or perhaps you've gained muscle?
Hi Helen, I'm glad your sickness has passed. Agree about being cooler! 😅

petitdonkey · 14/07/2026 18:51

Hi all, I’ve just found this thread and wanted to ask for some advice if that’s okay?

im halfway through week 2 on 2.5. I had a big loss in week 1 (9lbs) but that’s then stayed the same as I’ve had a few social events where it’s hard to avoid food and alcohol completely.

the nausea has been horrible this week- DH wanted to go to pizza express so I just ordered one of the leggara pizzas (with the salad in the middle) I could only eat half and couldn’t drink more than a very s amount of the wine.

I realise that the whole point is stop eating pizza and wine 😂 but we are on holiday next week and meals out all together have always been the best part! I don’t mind at all eating less, I’ve been enjoying that, but I don’t want to feel sick after just the smallest bit.

so my question is. Did your nausea get better on week 3? Or should I skip dosing on Friday (holiday on Saturday for a week) and just accept that I’ll be back to square one on return?

added complication is that I haven’t told my teenagers and they really will notice if I’m not on the wine!! (Easy to see how my weight has gone out of control!!!)

QueenStevie · 14/07/2026 19:21

I've reached my stone loss today! Started beginning of June. I'm over the moon! Another stone and a bit to go then I'll be happy.

HelenDenver · 14/07/2026 19:31

Well done @QueenStevie !

@petitdonkey I think pizza is really tricky, it has so much carb vs protein or fibre. If you go to a general Italian place, something like ravioli filled with meat or fish might be better. For the teens… can you say you are on antibiotics for an ear infection or something and so can’t drink?

HNAN36 · 14/07/2026 20:07

Sorry it’s been such a busy few weeks. Just having a bit of a catch up…

Some really great losses! Well done everyone 🙌🏻🎉

How is the nausea @sweetpickle2? I have only had it since going up to 3.75g. First week was awful, second not quite as bad. It hits within an hour of jabbing and gradually phases out by day 3/4 of that week.

@Jhutcherhow long did the squits last? I have had this bad for the last few days. 2nd week on 3.75. Not sure if my body is adjusting but didn’t happen last week.

@QueenStevieand @ElviraZoffanymy weight loss has slowed a lot. But I haven’t been exercising as much in the heat 🥵

@A671090I bet you are looking forward to the weddings. That’s some good motivation too. I have heard people taking a lower dose when on holiday to reduce side effects. We are away for 5 days at the end of August. I take my dose on the Friday and we go Monday to Friday so hoping most side effects have eased off and will just carry on. Going to monitor for the next few weeks. I have bought some collagen tablets but keep forgetting to take them. But after reading on here others have been taking I might give them a try. They are on offer in Holland and Barret atm.

Jhutcher · 14/07/2026 21:48

@HNAN36 only a couple of days thankfully. I did also vomit at least once. Wish me luck as I’ve got my second 5mg tomorrow and I’m a little nervous of it.

TheBlueDeer · 14/07/2026 21:48

Hi all. I started MJ around the 9th of June at 145.5lbs (5’8). I jab every 5 ish days, I’ve had 6 doses on 2.5mg so far - used a unisharp 1ml 30g syringe to jab the golden dose. This week I’m 134.5 lbs. Over the moon

HNAN36 · 14/07/2026 22:55

@JhutcherI haven’t actually been sick but close too and had days where I was unable to eat. Fingers crossed the symptoms ease off this time and your system gets used it it.

That’s incredible @TheBlueDeergreat loss 🙌🏻

curious - why have you decided to jab every 6 days?

congrats on the loss

bananamachinewater · 15/07/2026 07:16

Thanks for the reminder about measurements as well! I forgot I had done mine at the start. Measured again today and in 7 weeks I've lost
8cm from bust (had no boobs to start with but lost a lot of back fat!)
7cm from waist
5cm from hips
1cm from thighs
Will definitely need to try my wedding dress on again in case it's needing taken in 😮

MJ has a 5 day half life which is why a lot of people experience hunger etc returning after 5 days. In the clinical trials Lilly wanted a 5 day dosing regime but thought compliance would be poor as participants wouldn’t remember 5 days. So that’s the only reason they say to jab once a week. It’s actually safe to jab again after 72 hours. For me it’s just about keeping a steady amount of tirz at all times, I’m on 2.5mg and would prefer to stay here every 5/6 days than go up to 5mg once a week :)

HelenDenver · 15/07/2026 10:21

Really interesting, thank you!

TheLoupGarou · 15/07/2026 11:55

@petitdonkeyI felt most nauseous when going up from 2.5 to 5mg & found it was way worse when eating higher fat/cheesy/oily foods - also, drinking shed-loads of water (2-3L at least) really helped & it eased up a lot after the first half of the week.

I was away for a few days with dd10 and had to eat out - I tried to choose higher protein/fibre options & just chose 1 meal a day to be my main calorie intake and light snacks the rest of the time - e.g.
Brunch (cafe) - scrambled egg/bacon/slice sourdough toast/tomato & coffee
Snack - fruit pot/water
Dinner (restaurant) something like chicken kebab skewers/fries/side salad

I found i can tolerate a couple of glasses of wine as long as i stay well hydrated - I have two teens as well (boys) and honestly they pay hardly any attention to what i am eating/drinking - but you can always say your stomach feels a bit off or something if you don't want to tell them you are on MJ?

Shortsally42 · 15/07/2026 18:27

HelenDenver · 15/07/2026 10:21

Really interesting, thank you!

I take 2mg every 5 days as it makes the level more stable.

If you track your Mj dose on something like shotsy you can see how the drug reduces in your system. It's quite interesting as you say. x

HelenDenver · 16/07/2026 06:55

I ate far too much yesterday cos I woke up very early and then kept eating until late with football nachos.

Ah well, today is a new day

Sleepeazie · 16/07/2026 08:49

I was a poster who went up to 5mg for my second pen. I thought I’d give my 2pennies worth in case anybody is unsure about going up.

I am so glad I did, as I started June 4th, on 2.5mg, at a weight of 12:7 and finished that first pen on 12 (I’d seen 11:13.5 once mid way through the pen). The entire loss happened in the first 2 weeks, and then I bobbed up a pound and back down to 12, repeatedly.

I took my 2nd 5mg jab on Monday (I’d actually pushed it back 3 days) and I’m now down to 11:11. So I absolutely feel it was time to move up.

Had some gastro discomfort on the first week, but this week I’ve had none at all and can eat freely, I just have no food noise between meals and get full quickly.

HelenDenver · 16/07/2026 08:58

Thanks @Sleepeazie! I will probably go to 5mg for pen 3 - start pen 2 of 2.5mg on Sat so I have 2-3 weeks to see how that goes
