Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Sorry also ment to ask - is anyone taking Collagen? I’m being bombarded with ads for it and wondered if its hype or a necessary!

I am not - I am making sure I get my protein through food though - I chuck some chia seeds on some skyr or something if my protein is tracking low

littleraecloud · 09/07/2026 09:29

I also feel bloated & either bunged up or suddenly not ....lol

Orderd another 4 weeks of 2.5mg.

There's def a dose left in my 'finished' pen though, so I'll look up how to get that golden dose.

How can you tell there is a dose left?

HelenDenver · 11/07/2026 15:33

The cylinder still has fluid in the bit above the grey plunger after the fourth dose

MissClarke86 · 11/07/2026 17:37

I’m on week 6, I used the golden dose from my 2.5mg pen and then have started taking 3.75mg from my next 2.5mg pen to phase up to the 5mg.

Collagen - I was really skeptical but have been having 2 scoops of powder in my coffee. I forgot about it tbh as it’s habit and yesterday realised how lovely my skin looks!! I’m a massive skeptic about lots of things but I do think it’s making a difference.

I’m just over 1 stone down now

I literally just started taking it this morning after friends said they've found it good for their hair and nails.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 11/07/2026 18:52

6th Jab today and Im 2lb down

So that's 7lb off in total.

Im down to 14.0 stone now. No difference felt yet in my clothes but at least I'm going in the right direction.

Looking forward hopefully never to see 14 stone on the scales again.

Openmouthinsertfood · 11/07/2026 19:21

Well done Seagullsandsausagerolls. I don't know about you but I look forward to going down another stone bracket.

Did anyone stay up and watch the football? I'm not usually a fan but it came on and I watched it. To say I felt stressed...😅They kept adding extra time, I was almost hyperventilating! Heard some cheers outside with the result.
Kept waking up when I did go to bed so got up and weighed myself. Hallelujah, giving up the Gliclazide must have worked. I lost 5lbs this week! Taking me down to 12st 11 1/2lbs. I've now lost 13lbs overall. I haven't been 12st something in almost 3 years. Very pleased with that.

HelenDenver · 12/07/2026 06:49

Weigh in this morning after jab 4 yesterday, lost 0.9kg since my last weigh in. Little bit less than I had hoped but I have now lost just over 10lb overall on my first pen, so I feel cheered up by that 🙂

we watched the football! Very good. I haven’t checked my fit bit stats for heart rate during it…

HelenDenver · 12/07/2026 06:53

Well done on passing a mile”stone” @Openmouthinsertfood ❤️

Wow this is brilliant, can you feel it? Clothes looser?

This is a great milestone - how motivating! 5lbs in a week is massive!

have you had any side effects? I’m a week behind you and the nausea has been dreadful. Although have to say woken up this morning and don’t feel like I’m in the early stages of pregnancy so maybe it’s on a turn!

Shortsally42 · 12/07/2026 08:31

Congratulations on the losses!

For those having a slow week, I've found it can be worth measuring yourself too. Sometimes we lose inches before we lose the weight. I didn't do this much last time but those that did sometimes saw some great progress even when the number on the scale hadn't changed much.

QueenStevie · 12/07/2026 10:31

I'm really regretting not measuring at the start too. I do feel like I've lost some inches but it would be nice to have the proof to spur me on.

sleepsuit · 12/07/2026 14:32

Hi Everyone,
Amazing losses so far! It's amazing how well it works. I've gone from 11st 8lbs to 10st 10lbs. Did have one day at 10st 7lbs but that was a hot hot day where I couldn't face food!

Has anyone else also noticed real mental clarity? It's probably because I'm not filling my body with rubbish but I feel less brain foggy for sure.

I have a question about the final dose. There is clearly a full dose left in my pen. I bought some new needle heads - will it be as easy as attaching one and using the last dose or do I need to do anything different? I'd rather use that before starting the new pen!

Openmouthinsertfood · 12/07/2026 18:30

Well done Helen, and thank you! 😊That match was nail biting to say the least wasn't it?!!!

Hi A671090, to be honest I've had more trouble at the other end! 😅I did start feeling really nauseous on Friday though but I think it was combination of the heat (I'm down south, I also don't cope very well with the heat, never have.) and I''ve just changed a mental health medication I was on since 2011 to see if it helps with stopping tiredness and cravings. I think a lot of my nausea since Friday has been withdrawl from that (I did cross tapper for two weeks under the supervision of my Dr.). Today I feel a lot better, almost human! 😂I have actually eaten an evening meal today, first time in over a week. I do go up to 5mg of my jab due tomorrow and I am a bit worried about feeling sick tbh. I guess I'll jab and see! It's good you are feeling a bit better today. Hopefully it improves more as the days go on.
You just reminded me Shortsally42, I did take measurements my first week and also some photos. (Nude so I hope no one goes through my pics on my phone! 😯😂) You could write you stats down now QueenStevie for comparrison next month?
Hi sleepsuit, I've forgotten what mental clarity is! 😉I suffer from insomnia anyway but the nights have been so hot I'm only averaging a hour or two's sleep at night. I try and stay awake all day but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It's good you've found this though, it's a nice side effect to have! Congratulations on your weight loss.

HelenDenver · 13/07/2026 17:04

Feeling less food suppression than usual today, a couple of days after Jab 4 from my first pen. I stuck with 2.5mg for pen 2 but am wondering if I should have gone up to 5mg. Never mind, I can but see how it goes at this stage!

Openmouthinsertfood · 13/07/2026 17:41

Good luck Helen. I found this week the food suppression stopped around Friday. (I take my jab on a Monday.) I was also physically very hungry yesterday evening dispite eating! I took my first 5mg jab today so I'll let you know how it goes. TBH my sickness came back today (Before I took the jab.) anyway.

bananamachinewater · 14/07/2026 08:34

I weighed in this morning and have stayed the same weight this week. Taking that as a massive win as I had skipped my dose entirely last week when I was unwell. Will take 6th 2.5mg dose tonight.
I was also out for 2 meals at the weekend for 2 birthday celebrations. Still managed to order sensibly and leave the garlic bread that came with the starter on the plate 😁
Food noise is definitely back though and I'm looking forward to that hopefully quieting down after tonight. Was very tempted to order a takeaway for dinner last night!

Midgetwithaplan · 14/07/2026 09:47

Due to take my 4th jab later today and I've lost 1lb this week. Actually quite happy with that as I've been trying to eat a bit more than I did in the first 2 weeks as I was really only eating 1 meal and 1 snacks day, whereas this week I've eaten 2 or 3 meals each day and some snacks when I've felt hungry, but my snacks haven't been an entire pack of hobnobs or a share bag of crisps, more like 10 grapes. Glad I've ordered a 5mg pen for my next pen though

HelenDenver · 14/07/2026 13:41

I spoke too soon and don't feel like eating at all today! Ah well, as long as it evens out over the week...

Funnily enough I found the same after 3/4 weeks. After my first couple of doses the suppression was high immediately and wore off towards the end of the week but from dose 3 onwards, I found the suppression took a few days to kick in and was strongest in the middle of the week. Odd how it changes!
Hope you manage to find something you want today.

Openmouthinsertfood · 14/07/2026 13:49

I'm glad you're feeling better bananamachinewater. Leaving garlic bread?! 😮Lol, well done, good for you for being sensible too. Also well done on not ordering takeaway. Easily done when you don't want to cook in the heat we've been having.
Congrats on the loss Midgetwithaplan. I know what you mean with the whole packet of biscuits!
Thank goodness it's cooler today! I'm in the south, it's the first time in about a week I haven't just been sat here with a fan blasting at me. I've actually got up and done some well needed housework. 😅The only other trouble I've had, is in having all the windows open, I've had so many spiders in! I've now got some natural spider replant to spray round the window frame so hopefully that'll help.
Hi Helen, I hope you feel ok gererally? I was sat here earlier thinking I don't feel like I did on 2.5mg, I don't feel the supperssion. Then I realised it was almost 12pm and I hadn't eaten anything! 😂I found out my dizzyness and sickness I had been feelling was from changing my mental health meds. They should have been cross tappered over months but the dr did me on 2 weeks! I looked up the withdrawl symptoms though and should be over the worst in the first week so I'm going to try and keep on going. Are you having any other side effects?

Thank you...I'm in Scotland so it's only been in the low-mid 20's here which is a lovely change from the rain we just had for weeks. You have my sympathy though, it can't be easy with the extreme heat you've been having down south.
Oh that's not so good re meds but hopefully you are over the worst! Surely the Dr should have checked before doing that 😳
