Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Great stuff @Chiffchaff7

littleraecloud · 09/07/2026 09:29

I also feel bloated & either bunged up or suddenly not ....lol

Orderd another 4 weeks of 2.5mg.

There's def a dose left in my 'finished' pen though, so I'll look up how to get that golden dose.

sweetpickle2 · 09/07/2026 10:30

Jab day for me:

SW 95kg
CW 87kg
GW 85kg (for my wedding in 3 weeks)

This is the last jab for me for a while as I don't want to risk feeling nauseous at the wedding- might not quite get down to my GW but close enough, and my dress fits now which is the main thing!

HelenDenver · 09/07/2026 10:38

Hoorah for your dress fitting now - and congratulations!

A few of us have managed to force the pen to click round to get the last dose, I used my teeth to hold the end, someone more elegant used pliers 😁

I’m enjoying an NSV today, but not one to shout about really - I’m out and about with a lovely dress on and my pants keep making for the floor! 😂

LetitGoDLP · 09/07/2026 20:18

@ElviraZoffany a nsv for sure!

I hope you feel better soon@bananamachinewater

I’m plodding through a slow loss week 3 and still struggling to eat well. I’ve gone right off all the good foods I ate continuously throughout the first couple of weeks and between the suppression, the aversions, feeling bunged up and bloated, a busy work week and the heat, I just can’t be bothered to eat. I’m actually going in to the supermarket today rather than shopping online, so I hope to be inspired and find something different to make.

I’ve noticed something strange this week. The flab on my arse and thighs has become very squishy rather than solid. I can grab it and squeeze it like a stress ball. It’s so weird. It doesn’t feel like it’s a part of me!

Right, I’m off to do 15 minutes on my new vibration plate to see if I can get my incredibly slow digestive system moving!

@ElviraZoffany I’ve noticed the exact same thing with my bum and thighs…not solid fat now but weirdly squishy…how strange!!!

Openmouthinsertfood · 10/07/2026 03:42

ElviraZoffany You made me laugh. I'm wobbly enough to start with to grab 'stress balls!' 😂
Anyone else up not able to sleep (Again) because of the heat? I put some ice cubes in an ice pack and it lasted around 30 minutes. It's all water now. I was in bed with it resting on my head. 😅Gave in in the end and got up. I also had a eye mask that you put in the freezer so it's nice and cold. Got it out and it stinks of veggie burger. 😂Just sat here now with the fan on.
Everyone is doing so well with the weight loss and NSV. I found out I will only be prescribed up to 5mg but that is the theraputic dose and 2.5mg has been doing something so hopefully 5mg will too.
How are you feeling now Helen? My book hasn't turned up yet, hopefully tomorrow or the next day.
I hope you are also feeling better bananamachinewater?

bananamachinewater · 10/07/2026 07:23

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'm feeling much better although not 100% but back to work today 🙄
I'm not sure whether to take my next dose tonight now or just stick it out and wait until my normal day which is Tuesday. I was getting on fine with that schedule symptom wise. My appetite isn't completely back to normal yet but I do at least feel hungry again sometimes. Interestingly, last night I thought about some food that hadn't even entered my head since my first dose (mainly instant noodles which were my guilty pleasure and chocolate) so wondered if that is food noise creeping back or just because I've barely eaten a thing. Either way, it was just a quick thought and I was able to say no in my head 😂but the MJ is not fully out of my system so just shows how quickly it can creep back.

HNAN36 · 10/07/2026 08:09

Hello, sorry I have had a crazy busy week so going to have a bit of a catch up on the thread shortly. I am on jab 6 today, second of 3.75mg. Only lost 0.9lb this week so a little disheartening but still a loss. I’m not sure if eating so little has gone against me a little. I felt so nauseous the first 3 days, then with the heat have not had much of an appetite. Still going to click count 3.75mg this week and see how the next week goes.

SW 80.15kg / 12.8st
W1 77.85kg / 12.3st (-5lb)
W2 76.75kg/ 12.1st (-2.4lb)
W3 76.05kg/ 11.13st (-1.5lb)
W4 74.85/ 11.11st (-2.6lb)
CW/W5 74.40/ 11.10st (-0.9lb)
Total loss 11.4lb

How are you all getting on?

Openmouthinsertfood · 10/07/2026 08:41

I had the same thing HNAN36. In my second week I was so nauseous I hardly ate anything but also barely lost anything either! Considering the amount I used to eat, and how much I didn''t eat I should have by rights lost a few pounds. It goes to show though that I do need the medication to lose weight. Years ago in my first week of dieting I could loose a good 7lbs, once lost 9! These days it was non existant before the jabs annd I'm averaging 1-2lb a week with them. I still have to work at it but at least a lot of the food noise is gone as is the constant hunger. I do find it wears off a bit towards the end of the week but myabe when I go up to 5mg and get it in my system it won't be a problem?
Good that you are geeling a bit better bananamachinewater. Maybe you wanted the noodles as comfort food?

Notweirdatall · 10/07/2026 10:05

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding @sweetpickle2, so exciting and great news on your dress!!! Phew!

Dose 6 and my weigh in yesterday. Down another 1lb to take me to 17.5lbs. Now that the loss is slowing to a pound a week, does that mean it might be time to order the 5mg pen next time? Any ideas?!

Fairly happy with my pound though as I had an event and my sons birthday dinner (plus cake!) this week so less control that usual…

Here we go for week 7 - have a good week everyone 😀

sweetpickle2 · 10/07/2026 10:41

Thanks all! I am glad I'm in my dress- just annoyed I was already in it six months ago then ate myself out of it after coming off the jabs 😂but no point looking backwards!

Been feeling a bit nauseous again after this week's jab, which didn't happen last week but did the week before- during the previous heatwave. I wonder if the extreme heat has some effect on me alongside the jab?

Notweirdatall · 10/07/2026 16:03

The random nausea is tough @sweetpickle2 - I can go from feeling absolutely fine to a bit bleurgh and nauseous very quickly - the heat definitely doesn’t help but have found a bit of plain-ish protein can help. Hope it goes away quickly for you and let’s you enjoy that lovely run up to your wedding 🌺

AplineDaisies · 10/07/2026 22:32

OK so I thought I'd write it all out here

SW- 1st jab- 13st 9lbs on 26th June.

Wk 1- 2nd jab - 13st 2lbs - 7lb loss on 3rd July

Wk 2 - 3rd jab -12 st 12 - 4lbs loss 10th July

I heard I ought to try on some clothes that almost fit but I have been expanding in weight over the last few years and only wear elasticated trousers / lounge wear and baggy tops. I'm a long way off from any size 14-16 jeans. Any other suggestions?

HelenDenver · 10/07/2026 23:17

I’m well, thank you, @Openmouthinsertfood the nausea didn’t come back.

Had a big dinner out (starter and main and wine!) last night - my boss is leaving so I wanted to be there. Felt ok to eat “properly” but I also planned my menu choices ahead and wasn’t even tempted to have pudding. The wine was topped up automatically 😱 but as I haven’t had a drink for at least a month, I don’t know if I was as drunk as I felt!

Jab 4 tomorrow and weigh in on Sunday so fingers crossed!

Openmouthinsertfood · 11/07/2026 08:56

That's good Helen. Well done on planning and sticking to your meal. No pudding is great restraint! Good luck with today's jab. I weigh tomorrow too, then my 1st jab of 5mg on Monday. I was advised by my endocrinologist to stop one of my diabetes medication, Gliclazide. I did stop last week but I don't think it was out of my system before I weighed. I was surprised to find it causes weight gain which is almost impossible to lose whilst taking. I was expecting a woosh after stopping then but then looked it up again and it said not to expect one. You have to lose the weight in the normal way. Still, I'd be really happy if I've lost 2lb+.
Hi sweetpickle2 I hope you feel better soon. I felt very dizzy and nauseous yesterday and was also so hot, maybe there is a link?

HelenDenver · 11/07/2026 09:00

This is it - it’s so hot it’s hard to know if symptoms are jab related or heat related!

QueenStevie · 11/07/2026 09:40

I've not had a great week. Not really lost. But have had a couple of meals out this week and more wine than usual. Not sure whether to go for 5mg pen next. Feeling a bit cross with myself.

HelenDenver · 11/07/2026 09:59

Don’t be hard on yourself @QueenStevie - it’s a marathon not a sprint and life is going to go on with friend/family meet ups etc.

Jhutcher · 11/07/2026 10:27

So, after 5 doses at 2.5mg (syringed the golden dose) I went up to the recommended 5mg. Having had no undesirable symptoms until now, I was pretty bad with nausea and the squits for a couple of days. I hear this is normal when changing dose?

On the upside, almost finished my 6th week and I’ve lost 2 stone. I’m kept my calories up, but hope this slows a little as it’s too much too quickly in my view.

ElviraZoffany · 11/07/2026 10:27

Just about to take jab 4 and I haven’t lost much this week either @QueenStevie just about 1lb, which is crazy considering the difference in the amount I’m eating compared to my old ways.

This week I’m definitely constipated, haven’t been drinking enough water and I’ve had a couple of high salt/carb meals (although tiny portions).

I’ll be working on all of that today because I’m going on holiday next week and would like to feel less bloated!

A671090 · 11/07/2026 10:30

Morning all - sorry not been around much - jab 3 on Thursday and 6.6lbs down.
Im buying through Juniper and they’ve recommended I stay at 2.5mg as the nausea is awful. It does come in waves - some days better than others (today is bad), really struggling to eat and just don’t fancy anything!
Ive bought some protein drinks but they are too sweet for me (never happy).

So all in all feeling a bit glum - I’m sure this heat isn’t helping - normally I’d be out on a Saturday doing a long walk!

My husband isn’t really bothered about food - I’m a planner, always have a full fridge etc, love to cook recipes, bizarrely I normally love doing my supermarket shop etc. My daughter came home last week - opened the fridge and was most confused at its bareness 😀 on the plus side our joint account is looking healthier than it normally does!

Anyway rambling now! It looks as if everyone is doing so so well. I wish I could be as enthusiastic but the nausea is starting to get to me.

I’ve got two important weddings within a week of each other (step daughter / god daughter) at the end of August / early Sept - I really hope the nausea subsides otherwise I will probably knock it on the head then!

Good luck everyone it’s great to read your updates xx

A671090 · 11/07/2026 10:35

Sorry also ment to ask - is anyone taking Collagen? I’m being bombarded with ads for it and wondered if its hype or a necessary!
