Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Weigh-in!

2.1kg lost in week 1 (which is about 4.6lbs in old money 😀)

Really pleased 😌

LetitGoDLP · 28/06/2026 08:35

@HelenDenver great start! Well done.

Hystersister26 · 28/06/2026 10:46

Will be trying to do golden dose today today by forcing pen round. I had ordered a 2.5 pen however wishing it was a 5 one as I haven't felt much suppression this week and I have been wanting crisps and chocolate again.

So no weight loss for me this week however have lost 7lbs with my first pen which I am happy with.

9 days till my sons wedding and my dress looks better on me. Still have awful bloating caused by my hysterectomy 11 weeks ago but had lymphatic drainage massage on Friday and do notice a bit of a difference in my tummy. With the heat this week my scales had gone up 5lbs but I know it was just water retention.

Openmouthinsertfood · 28/06/2026 12:58

Well done Helen! How have you found it?

1/2 a stone in a month is good going Hystersister26.

I was so excited to weigh myself today that last night I woke up around an hour and a half of going to sleep and decided to weigh myself then. Got on the scales...It said I'd only lost 1 1/2 lbs!!! 😧I was gutted. Got off the scales and decided to try again, that time and everytime after then, it said I had lost 3 1/2 lbs. Went back to bed, thought I'd give it one more try when I got up this morning. Scales said I'd lost 4 1/4 lbs. So I don't know what to believe? I also actually don't feel sick today and didn't feel sick after breakfast. Next jab is tomorrow though!

HelenDenver · 28/06/2026 13:20

@Openmouthinsertfood thank you! Not too bad, a bit of a struggle to get the fibre every day

ETA but largely haven’t felt either super hungry or unable to eat

ElviraZoffany · 28/06/2026 15:26

@Openmouthinsertfood I always turn my scales on by stepping on and off first as the first weight it gives is always randomly high. Once it’s alive, every time I step on after that it records a lower weight, it’s just the first one that’s different.

Week 2 Day 2 and I’m 6lbs down.

I jabbed at 12 yesterday and couldn’t eat anything for the rest of the day, only having a few slices of apple at 10pm when the nausea hit. I’ve had 1/3 of a slice of toast and half an egg for breakfast and half a fibre and protein bar for lunch, but I’m really not up for eating.

I didn’t have this with the first jab, so guess it’s building up in my system.

TheLoupGarou · 28/06/2026 17:13

Hi all! Everyone has been doing really well - i've just been catching up on the thread. Welcome to all the new starters. I am about to do my first jab from my second pen - have gone up to 5mg as i haven't been feeling much effect the last couple of weeks. I am still in two minds as to whether to click count for the 3.75mg or just do the full 5. I am off to Brussels with DD on Weds to see BTS so i am wary of the possibility of side effects.

Anyway - over this first month i have lost 10lb, which i am really happy with. My clothes definitely fit better and my face looks way less puffy and bloated.

Openmouthinsertfood · 28/06/2026 17:14

I'm glad you found it ok HelenDenver. I just realised reading up a bit that I need to take things a bit more seriously. Get more protein in, and do some exercise! (I read about muscle wastage.). Also if you don't eat enough that your metabolism will slow down. (I was put on the jab by my endocrinologist for my diabetes, to lower my blood sugar. He didn't give me any advice about the weightloss side.)
Thank you ElviraZoffany, that's really helpful advice. Well done on the loss, and I also felt fine with my first jab but really sick with the second. I take my third jab tomorrow.

EDIT: Hi TheLoupGarou, thanks for the welcome. 10lbs of is really good in one month. Have you had any side effects?

TheLoupGarou · 28/06/2026 17:30

Open nope not really any major side effects - a small amount of nausea and slightly constipated. I have been drinking loads of water - at least 3L a day and that seems to have helped a bit.

I lost about 4lb in my first week and then the rest 1-2lb ish a week. I have been tracking everything religiously. Extra motivation at the moment as I have a wedding coming up at the end of July - if I can do another 10lb before then i will be really happy 🙏

HelenDenver · 29/06/2026 05:54

Morning all June-bies - thank heavens it is cooler today, I’m eating trout (for protein) by an open window and generally feeling cool and positive!

Openmouthinsertfood · 29/06/2026 08:47

It's good you've had no major side effects so far TheLoupGarou. Your doing well, good luck to you for dropping the 10lbs you want gone. I imagine it's good motivation to have a solid goal?
Hi Helen. I''m definitely not a fan of the hot weather! I'm a Winter baby and it's my favourite season of the year. I think it's so much easier to warm up than cool down! It's nice to hear you are feeling positive.
I got in touch with my GP practice asking whether I could take a multivitamin as I'm worried I'm not getting enough nutrients. They've just got back to me and said I have to ask my hospital consultant. I was going to get in touch with them anyway as I have my forth jab next week and I don't know where my next prescription will come from, the hospital again, GP?
Anyone else looking forward to Wimbledon starting today?

HelenDenver · 29/06/2026 09:52

@Openmouthinsertfood me! It is a shame Emma Raducanu has had to pull out :-(

HelenDenver · 29/06/2026 12:36

I have tried the famous fibre-rich chia seeds on some yoghurt today, hopefully they won’t have any weird tummy effects!

Yes, thank goodness for the cooler weather! I will be able to do some exercise today now 😊

Well done everyone on the good losses - great start for everyone!

Feeling a bit disheartened as I don't think I've lost much, if anything, this 2nd week (jab due tomorrow). Seem to be very puffy with water retention though so I'm hoping now it's cooled down a bit and my period has finished, some of that might go. 🤞🏼

sweetpickle2 · 29/06/2026 13:19

Jab day tomorrow morning, am only just coming out of the nausea and tummy trouble from last week where I basically ate nothing.

Have more of an appetite today so am eating quite a lot like a squirrel hoarding for the winter incase it happens again after I jab 😂

HelenDenver · 29/06/2026 13:27

I got a bruise on my tummy from my second jab though I didn't from the first jab. Weird! Maybe the LHS is more sensitive than the RHS!

Good luck with your next jabs, @littleraecloud and @sweetpickle2

childfreebychoice · 29/06/2026 13:44

Third weigh in/ jab day for me and I'm another 3lb down, which I'm delighted with.

Starting weight: 18st 7lb
Current weight: 18st 1lb
Loss so far: 6lb
Initial target weight: 12st 6lb

HelenDenver · 29/06/2026 14:24

Well done @childfreebychoice !

BeLoftyRobin · 29/06/2026 15:26

Hi June 26 Mounjaro jabbers. I start today on the lowest dose. I decided to start as BMI too high and possible non diabetic probs. So lets hope no really awful side effects. By the was I am 71 and have always been active but like a glass of wine too much.

Look forward to hearing how everyone gets on with the jab.

HelenDenver · 29/06/2026 15:35

Good luck with your first jab @BeLoftyRobin !

JuniperRosy · 29/06/2026 19:46

@HelenDenver my first jab gave me a bruise but since then I’ve made sure to take the pen out of the fridge an hour before jabbing and haven’t had an issue since

BeLoftyRobin · 29/06/2026 20:33

Thats a good tip. Will try it.

ElviraZoffany · 29/06/2026 21:00

Jab 2 Day 3 and I haven’t managed over 700 cals for the last three days. 450 Sat, 550 Sun and 700 today. It’s becoming a problem as I feel so weak and I was really hoping to get exercising this week too.

I felt more hungry this morning and managed to have a decent breakfast and lunch, but I couldn’t face anything more than a babybel for dinner.

I hope my hunger is going to increase as the days go on. I’m going to have to bulk up breakfast and lunch and maybe try a vegetable soup or something in the evening.

bananamachinewater · 29/06/2026 21:40

I’m due my 5th dose tomorrow. Definitely don’t have the same suppression that some are describing but I’m managing to eat well and averaging about 1200cals a day with no side effects, however…
I had a girls day out on Saturday…it involved a small meal and day drinking. We had 3 bottles of wine between 4 people and 2 cocktails over the space of 7 hours (for me this is not an unreasonable amount of alcohol for a big day out). I was home and tucked up in bed for 9pm but woke at 1am to be sick and woke up Sunday feeling god awful! Wasn’t sick again but had awful stomach cramps and diarrhoea all day Sunday and most of today. Curious whether I’ve eaten something dodgy or if this is a result of mixing (more) alcohol and mounjaro. I felt fine whilst actually drinking 🤷🏼‍♀️ it wasn’t until 1am that the negative effects kicked in. For reference I’ve usually still been having a bottle of wine split over Saturday/Sunday during other weeks and haven’t felt any different the next day.
