Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

First Jab today!! I was planning on doing it later this evening so I can sleep through any side effects. What’s the best time to do it? On an empty stomach before dinner or around 9pm once I’ve got my daughter in bed?

My doctor advised after lunch on a Saturday so that I would have something in my tummy if I then felt too sick to eat for a bit.

(I was fine apart from the burps on Sunday!)

Goldpanther · 26/06/2026 09:13

I've just done my 6th jab today and on my second 2.5mg pen.

I managed to force my pen round last week to get the golden dose (had to hold the end you twist between my teeth so I could really force it!)

I am down 5kg (11lb) since starting and very pleased with that progress. I'm thinking if I can keep losing a kg a week for this next pen I might titrate down for my third pen. I started with a BMI of 30, so I'm already in the overweight BMI category and need to lose a further 6kg to be in the high normal BMI range.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 26/06/2026 16:59

I tried to order my second pen from Med Express and they've requested photos, again. First two sets were declined now a third is away to the prescriber 🙄

How on earth could I have went from BMI of 39 to a healthy range in a month. I used Med Express prior to my surgery and they didn't mess about like this.

Big thank you @Goldpanther … I’ve just managed to get the ‘golden dose’ using your method, although I used a pair of mole grips rather than my teeth! Thanks very much for the advice 😊

HNAN36 · 26/06/2026 20:58

@TwoBigNoisyBoysand @Goldpantherhow much more did you get out of yours? I think I managed to do this too but it was probably about a half dose?

I got a full dose exactly! When I've been priming it's only been 2 clicks each time to get rid of any air bubbles.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 26/06/2026 21:16

Same as @Goldpanther i believe…the pen was full from the last mark on the barrel, and was completely empty by the time I’d injected. I can’t say for certain whether that was a full 6ml dose, obviously, but I’ve only been doing two clicks for air bubbles too, and there’s seemed to be a full dose left, so hopefully it was as close as it could be 😊

olivietolivie · 26/06/2026 21:40

Please may I join! I am a restarter.

Didn’t know if anyone might be interested in my full stats:

start weight Jan 2025: 16 stone
end weight from first time on MJ August 2025: 12 stone 1

I abruptly stopped when on 10mg due to the price increase. Thought I could go it alone having lost nearly 4 stone so effortlessly.

ahem….

start weight June 2026 second attempt: 13 stone 6

goal: 9.5 stone

LetitGoDLP · 27/06/2026 06:23

@olivietolivie welcome! Stats are great, hope it goes as well for you this time around.

olivietolivie · 27/06/2026 07:36

@LetitGoDLPthank you! The weight absolutely dropped off me first time around. I lost a stone in just under a month. Not quite seeing the same this time as I am 5 days in and I have lost .2 of a pound Grin

A671090 · 27/06/2026 07:37

I’m on day 2 having injected mid morning on Thursday. Appetite really suppressed and I didn’t eat enough yesterday. I have waves of nausea and was sick in the night. I feel ok this morning but not hungry but know I need to eat!

The heat is killing me aswell so I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself - I love weekends normally!

Can I ask - last time did you get nearly symptoms (nausea etc) and if so how long did they take to wear off?

I am totally distracted by the nausea - it’s like morning sickness 😂

littleraecloud · 27/06/2026 09:34

Think the nausea can be caused by not eating/drinking enough! Take care guys. I know it is really hard in this heat though.

The heat has meant I've not done any exercise this week which is so annoying. I just do home workouts, which is not possible when it's 30 degrees INSIDE. 🥵

Anyway, in week 2 and another lb lost so far. I think it'll be 2lbs total this week (by tuesday - jab day) which doesn't seem much but I know that's a healthy loss for a week. 😊

olivietolivie · 27/06/2026 09:41

@A671090i only really got nausea if I didn’t eat and it was very rarely. Occasionally something like a cup of tea on an empty stomach would make me feel a bit yucky but then a little bite to eat and all was good. Otherwise I didn’t have any side effects except having to keep buying new clothes Grin

HelenDenver · 27/06/2026 09:42

Is anyone else peeing every 5 mins?? Not sure if that’s the jab or just the extra heatwave water I’m drinking!

rosecbrm · 27/06/2026 13:19

Just about to order my second pen, did my 4th jab today as I skipped a week last week due to having a sickness bug and then going on holiday (didn’t want any yucky symptoms when my stomach was already very delicate!).

sticking with 2.5mg as the suppression is still really high for me. In the 3 weeks I’ve done the jab I lost around 8lbs, so really pleased with that! interested to see what my 4th (5th if counting the week I skipped) brings!

littleraecloud · 27/06/2026 17:43

Just done my first jab - I’m so nervous about side effects.
I have a hen do this weekend but it’s a quiet one (day time) and I’ll be driving!
One question I do have - what f your not eating as much do you find you get low blood sugars? Feeling weak etc? And what do you do about that?

Hello everyone, do you mind if I join? I've just finished reading the whole thread!
I was prescibed Monjaro for weightloss and diabetes, I started not this last Monday but the Monday before. In the first week I found I hardly ate one day, then pigged out the next. However, I took a punnt and weighed myself on the Sunday (It would have been Monday but I woke up absolutely convince it was Monday! 😅) and I'd lost two pounds, the most I've lost in a long time! I thought I'd try and be more serious about it this week annd see where that gets me. I took my second dose this Monday just gone but unfortunatley I felt really sick for days and didn't eat much at all. I've felt better overall the past couple of days but still feal sick when I eat. I'm hoping the positive is I see a good result on the scales tomorrow! A671090, I quoted you as I have had low blood sugar a few times this week. Full fat coke is very good at raising your blood sugar quickly but I also googled it and it came up with, Dextro Energy Tablets. I got some from Amazon. I had a crash the last night and took one and it helped. Felt a bit weak again a while later, took another one and it worked. However, I've been in and out the loo all day and I don't know if it's due to them or not?!

Thanks, good to know (in a weird way!) 😀

HelenDenver · 27/06/2026 17:55

@Openmouthinsertfood sorry you have been feeling bad, I think a few people have a stomach upset as a side effect, hope it goes quickly

HelenDenver · 27/06/2026 18:00

Bit of a headache, think I also had this last week just after the jab

Chiffchaff7 · 27/06/2026 20:09

Day 3 of my second jab and my food aversions are still pretty intense! I’m struggling to get my daily calories. Strongest aversions are chocolate, anything too sweet or synthetic tasting (think flavoured yoghurts) any meat, bread, fish, and cottage cheese! I’m ok with Greek yogurt, fruit, salad, veggies, eggs (hard boiled only) and salad cream! I’m hoping as the weeks go by it’ll settle down!

Hope everyone is doing well xx

Openmouthinsertfood · 27/06/2026 21:30

Hi HelenDenver, thank you. Honestly, I usually don't cope very well feeling sick but the thought that something is actually working - I might lose weight, really helps! 😅I hope your head feels better. In this weather could it also be a bit of dehydration?

I'm the opposite with food aversions Chiffchaff7. 😆I ate some potatoe pie earlier, first 'meal' for over a week, and really didn't enjoy it and felt sick afterwards. Funnily enough an hour later my stomach was rumbling so I ate a Muller corner yogurt, enjoyed it and I'm no longer hungry. The reason I'm overweight in the first place is because I usually eat sweet stuff rather than savoury though. I am also autistic so am very funny about texture. (I've only ever eaten sausages meat wise. My mum made me. Said if I didn''t eat any meat I'd go mad. She was quite right. 😜) These days though I usually stick to low sugar and diet bars and chocolate bars. Stuff like Skinny bars and high protein, low sugar bars. I will join you on the salad cream though, love that stuff!
