This journey is as much about changing what is going on in our brains as it is changing our bodies so don’t let anyone ever say this is an easy option.

So true @TheZingyFish I feel like this should be stamped across every MJ pen box, like the warning on a box of cigarettes. It's so key.

Well done @eibbed999 the theatre is such a worry isn’t it? I remember going to a show and having to perch sideways on the very edge because I literally couldn’t fit in :( I wouldn’t have been spilling on to anyone other than DH but I just couldn’t fit!

Went to a play at Stratford last week and fitted comfortably. Such a great feeling.

Absolutely! One of strongest bonds on here is our chair fear!

EverybodysALebowski · 01/06/2026 17:51

Finally got off my (both literal and figurative) arse this weekend and rejoined the gym. Work is crazy until Friday but planning on get back to it then. Also in the process of moving up a dose, albeit in increments, and restarted regular long walks to keep moving. Over the last 10 months I've made it halfway to my goal, but I need to up the effort now. Slow steady loss is fine but I am now tired of this plateau shit and need to reacquire more good lifestyle habits.

It's been years since I've been to the gym. And I'm well aware that I'll be larger than anyone else there (still), and am a bit nervous. I know it'll be ok after a week or so, this is not my first weight-loss rodeo, and I KNOW nobody cares or notices but me, but still not looking forward to that initial reentry.

PearlsTeapot · 01/06/2026 18:14

@afaloren and @eibbed999 I've also been there- on an iasle seat of course but physically just could not fit. Spent the whole time literally perched forward, killed my back and had bruises all down my thighs.

Thank goodness those days are done!

@EverybodysALebowski you've got this. I'm proud of you for joining. Get a decent podcast ready, the Mel and Sue one recommended on this thread has been so funny.

I’m also 51% to my goal and just joined a gym. I was just Googling the weight limit for Reformer Pilates 😅 I think I’ll be okay. I’ve never done it before though.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 01/06/2026 19:06

Ive put on 1.5kg. Well. I dont think I have. I think its hrt/moving more...and Not Losing.

I realise with being down to last 2 stone (and only a stone overweight) it really is a different, much slower game, but think I will up my dose 0.5.

I did around 7 months on 8/8.3 then the last 7 weeks on 8.9 so going to try 9.5 this Friday.

Im in 2 minds as could just be the hrt... but also...I so want to see it going down...

TragicMuse · 01/06/2026 19:10

Good luck at the gym!

I had a thought about things today. It was that I’m not actually doing anything different to all the other times I’ve lost weight, but I am thinking differently. So it’s not so much that I’ve dieted differently this time, it’s in the way my brain behaves. That’s the gift that Mounjaro has given me. Freedom from the compulsion. Freedom to focus on all the other things in life. Not being ruled by the constant thoughts of food. The ability to maintain consistency.

I’m about a stone away from my main target and a bit more from the buffer I’d like to give myself. I’ll be happy to lose the last bit of wobbly stomach and be a definite and confirmed size 12 everywhere.

And it feels actually possible now. Really possible.

EverybodysALebowski · 01/06/2026 19:15

Go for it @user593 reformer pilates is supposed to be great
we can report in on first day nerves next week.

I definitely relate to this - my brain doesn't get in the way, and on the odd occasion that it does, I can get back on track so much more easily. One bad day doesn't spiral into a 3 stone gain, I can simply shrug it off and get back to (my new) normal the next day.

Can we swap brains please @TragicMuse ?? I definitely did feel like that in the early days, but then my brain managed to sneak around the drug I think. I'm kind of in between now, still just about under control but conscious of the fact that I'm one binge away from losing it! I find yours and the other losers' posts so inspiring though, it really helps to see that it's possible, that women who once looked and felt like me are now in the uncharted territory of being size 12, even 10s and 8s. It proves it's possible!

Springflowers2 · 02/06/2026 11:17

15 ,5 today
All good ,weight on the move again
Clothes are hanging of me .
Still in some size 20s ,but I'm starting to look rediculous in them .
It was cold to day ,so put my jeans on ,and they looked huge to .
Don't want to buy to much in size 18 ,as I'm not far of fitting in a 16 .
Lots of comments asking when I'm going to stop from friends and husband.
Glad I stayed on monjroro,I was close to jacking it all in ,as it was very slow since January.
Onwards loosers x

I tend to buy new clothes in two sizes jumps - I agree about not buying the 18 if the 16s will fit soon. I started in size 22 tunics for work (which were quite snug!) and am in 18 now which are a bit loose. I have some 14s in my wardrobe from the last time I lost weight 🙈 which should fit soon 🤞

That's brilliant,you've done so well
At my biggest, and because I don't like anything fitted,I can remember buying size 34 from yours.
And praying it would fit me .
Even I now agree with everyone,I look like a totally different person.
I I didn't really manage to skip buying any clothes sizes on the way down
I just tried to not buy to much .
Currently I have no jeans smaller than a 20 . thankfully the very baggy look is in .....but I'm living in gym shorts ,I've got 18 ,and 16 waiting in a draw
T shirts are more tricky as I like my bum covered, proving difficult to get longer length ones .
I bet you will be thrilled when your in those size 14s
I can't imagine how thrilled I'm going to be if I ever manage buy a size 14 ,it will feel like Christmas

GeraldThePufferSponge · 02/06/2026 20:26

Hello all, may I join please?
I have quite a lot to lose - in the region of about 200lbs. I’m one week in and lost 8lbs this week which I’m delighted with (although I know it will be water weight!)
I do have a question if anyone has any thoughts on this - my TDEE is 3,300 calories so to lose 2lbs a week I’d be aiming for 2,300 a day. This seems very high and I’m afraid to eat the full amount?

SilenceInside · 02/06/2026 21:17

@GeraldThePufferSponge hello 👋

Personally I wouldn’t, and didn’t, try to eat as many calories as the TDEE calculations said I could. I don’t think I could have, at all, with the level of appetite suppression I had in the first few weeks.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 02/06/2026 21:27

Welcome @GeraldThePufferSponge !

I have to say, that seems like a very high TDEE even for someone who has a lot to lose - are you very active?

Thanks! Happy to have found people on a similar journey 😊
I’m sitting at the 28 stone mark, and am 6”2 and in my 30’s so I tried a couple with those stats and they all seemed to concur - but it feels an awful lot!

The jabs have left me feeling pretty full! And I don’t want to get into the habit of eating for the sake of it - that’s what got me into this problem in the first place 🙈

Ah, 6'2" would definitely make a big impact!

SilenceInside · 03/06/2026 07:40

@GeraldThePufferSponge I agree, I wouldn't eat for the sake of it. I think if you are eating a balanced diet with enough protein and the calorie total is not below your BMR then I wouldn't worry about it. I would think you'd be similar to many of us, where you get big losses in the early weeks and months, which gradually tails off to a more sustainable level.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 03/06/2026 07:42

Morning all, some fabulous scale and non scale victories here, many of which I relate to. I got out my seasalt dresses from a year ago, which are a size 22, and they all looked ridiculous. Decided to treat myself to a new one, tried the 18 and thought it was still a bit big round my shoulders / chest etc… and the 16 fit! I’ve then hit vinted for a couple more.

The summer dress and skirts have also led to me realising it was time to ditch the size 22 pants and invest in new ones 😂

My weight loss was really consistently hitting 7lb a month but the last couple of months it’s down to about 5lb. I’ve decided to risk a teeny dose increase again. Im now at 14 st 5, BMI 32.5 and really want to get out of the Obese zone. I know a slow down is inevitable but I’m on such a low dose relatively I think I have to try.

I’m very like you @PearlsTeapot with the side effects, I really feel for you! I’ve been on 4.25mg for 2 months and definitely wanting to snack more so let’s see what happens as I try for the 4th time to head towards a 5mg dose! I’m going to up it very slowly, 4.5mg for now.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 03/06/2026 07:59

Midweek weigh in.. After the hot weather, half term (we went away during the first half and everything was out of routine) and another random weight gain, I've had a whoosh that takes me to 12st 1lb…drum roll, please... that’s a 100lb loss!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I never thought I'd get this far. I've now set my final goal at 73kg (11st 7lbs). Based on BMI charts, that still leaves me in the overweight category (BMI 26.5) but I think I'll be comfortable with that. I also think it's a weight I can maintain with my new exercise routine. So, the final 5kg(ish). here we come!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 03/06/2026 08:50

Someone clearly wasn't happy with their weight as they've smashed the display screen on the healthcentre scales. I'll have to use the random number generator when I get home.

user593 · 03/06/2026 09:21

My weight loss seems to have sped back up again 🙏 I haven’t started the 7.5mg yet but I have it ready to go. Currently 40.2kg/ 6st 4.3lbs/ 88.6lbs down which is 52% of my way to goal. I’m 10 days past my 6 month MJ anniversary so I’m very happy with that. Off to the gym for the first time (in years) today and feeling very nervous!
