This is just what happens to me on 5mg. It happened about 6 weeks ago and 6 weeks before that. My theory is that I'm so constipated for so long and then it all comes out in one go.

The doctor felt my belly and there's no mass she could feel, and I haven't crapped since this morning, so hopefully the end is in sight now.

Definitely going to drop to 4mg (24 clicks from a 10 pen- is my maths right?) on Sunday and stick to that. Wondering if even that's too high.

Yep, your maths is right. Fingers crossed it helps!

52soon · 29/05/2026 20:29

@PearlsTeapot hope things settle down for you, not good that it keeps happening with the tummy upset, I would definitely delay jab and reduce next time. On the plus side you might get a whoosh on the scales!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/05/2026 20:52

Oh no Pearl - I hope you get sorted soon. I really reacted every time I went up a dose -but no good if its every week.

@Springflowers2 Completely agree -the "looking older" is 100000 times worth it for the health benefits and even the overall looking better benefits.

I feel so much more "me" its just so strange inhabiting a body that "passes" in the normal world without the morbid obesity being the first thing people see.

I am just under 12 st (Well - haven't weighed since being away - could be more now!) so still overweight, but just more normal looking body.

Today I sat in chairs in a talk and just realised I could do that. I could cross my legs. People talked to me. I was just .... like everyone else. Which in itself is so so different.

It is also strange working out who this "me" is now my day to day life isn't spent compensating for what it can't be....

Also...

FATFACE - I brought a size 14 jumpsuit thing!! I would never wear something like that as the stomach was protuding so much and I felt I'd look like a ball.

AND tried on size 16 blue shorts. I don't want them as I'm not sure I'll wear them - but THEY FIT!!! Finally!!

Oh I am so happy. My stomach is literally like pick up and plonk on the table weird and lumpy and big and wobbly like some of the weight loss videos - but I'm hopeful now that some of that girth will go with more weight loss and actually even now I can get some of the clothes I would like :)

OvertiredandConfused · 29/05/2026 22:46

Hope you feel better soon @PearlsTeapot

Today I am officially back to the weight I was when I stopped Mounjaro in late March for my surgery.

Two months, minus one gall bladder and 5mg working the way 12.5mg was before. Not a bad result, especially considering how worried I was at the start of this.

Onwards and downwards!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 30/05/2026 07:38

That's fab @OvertiredandConfused and such a cost saving too!

I've lost 1.1kg this week, which is great, but with the gain last week is 'only' 0.6kg over two weeks, which is slow for me. But I had a quick Google and what I suspected is correct - blood vessels dilated in hot water to help keep you cool, so your blood increases in volume with extra water, which causes the weight gain a lot of people have been seeing. Also interesting is that we burn less calories in the heat as our body isn't having to try and keep us warm. So good new is we should all see a whoosh when it cools down again!

That is interesting about blood vessels @RenegadeKeeblerElf I never knew that. It explains a lot.

NSV has been being able to cope in the heat. I think my internal thermostat is still set for a much more padded body. Last weekend I spent the whole of Saturday gardening with DD in the sun.

I'm making shorts for our holiday in a couple of weeks. 3 pairs, each pair is a size smaller than the previous pair, I keep being too pessimistic about measurements. My brain keeps saying 'yes but you might get bigger'.

My big fear when travelling is that I would lose my luggage and not be able to buy clothes. But I'm now getting close to 'normal' sizes. Very strange!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 30/05/2026 10:53

I had a NSV today.

I went on a school trip on Thursday. One of the teachers took a load of photos and uploaded them to social media. He's focussed them on the item he's holding in the foreground so all the students are blurred. My son asked if I was in any of them and I said no. Then I realised I was slap bang in the middle of one, but I didn't recognised my blurry form as it's not a gigantic blob anymore, even though I still have a lot to lose.

And ... I also realised that I am no longer the biggest person being photographed. I'm still one of the bigger students but I'm not the biggest.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 30/05/2026 12:06

Well done on getting into the 11 stone bracket @TragicMuse!
It's so exciting to see the scales move down like that.

I've also gained a couple of pounds in the hotter weather, although it's not been very hot here in Argyll.
However, we've reached the dizzy heights of 17° at times, so I went out without a coat on the other day.

I still have very cold hands, though, and had my heated mittens on.
🤣

Have been doing my spring cleaning.
Also have been knitting a jumper for myself. I knitted three cardigans for my friend's first grandson, which got me back into the swing of knitting, then decided to make something for myself.

@MrTiddlesTheCat I love this, not being the biggest person! It is amazing how something so simple can mean so much. Well done!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 30/05/2026 13:28

Wahooo for 11s TragicMuse!!
Impressed with the knitting Broon!
MrTiddles thats brilliant!
Gnome - I've noticed im coping better with the weather too. I still stay out of direct sun but im better than I was last year even. I sometimes think how hard it was for us in our larger bodies and all the extra things we were coping with. Didn't we all do well just surviving....

TragicMuse · 30/05/2026 15:05

I had another little NSV! You know that thing where a ‘shoulder bag’ isn’t because your arm, body, shoulder etc is too big for the straps to fit over comfortably/properly? And the straps just slip off annoyingly and it’s just all ridiculous and irritating and BAH! You know that?

Well! I chose a bag the other day, and just…put it over my shoulder! The straps went where they should. And stayed there. And it was comfortable. No slippage. No annoyance.

That’s a win!

Newnammmme · 30/05/2026 16:54

Just here for a quick catch up and check in

sw: 315lb. BMI 51. 10/01/2025
cw. 202lb. BMI 33
15mg Monjaro

sold two size 28 dresses on Vinted , and bought two 16 ones 🥰🥳

I don’t really have an end target in mind … I want to get my bmi under 30 so I’m just overweight not obese- think I need to be about 180 for that so I reckon that could be around Christmas time.

I have make my peace with paying £280 per month for the jab until Christmas anyway- then hope for some sort of Christmas miracle 🤭

I have taken on another day at work a week until Christmas to cover the cost. I hope it’s the right decision.

I don’t know why I have Christmas on the brain. Probably because it’s half way through the year and I’m thinking about what I need to do to achieve this years goals (nb it’s win the lottery I think 🤔 🤭)

AlicesMum2025 · 30/05/2026 18:03

@MCR24 how long has it taken you to lose that much? My starting weight was similar to yours at 140.3kg and my goal is the same 60kg.

I've lost 57.7kg in a year (started May last year) so I should be really pleased but it's really slowed down now and I'm worried how long the last 22kg is going to take.

Also, it's lovely to read about everyone's NSVs. I've been having many of the same. I keep buying things on Vinted because nothing fits, but then realise that I need the next size down. I'm just coming into size 14 which is unbelievable. And I went out in shorts the other day. OK, it was only to the post office and they were quite long ones, but I was still in public!

newtothegreen · 30/05/2026 18:19

Lovely to read all of the NSVs! Well done all and @PearlsTeapot I hope it’s the end of this miserable bout of side effects for you.
Yesterday I wore a top in a size 16 which is some kind of miracle! I’d had the same top in a 26 and loved it, re-bought it on a whim frol
Vinted in the 16 and it actually fits. I think I may have been at secondary school the last time I wore a 16 as I can’t recall a time in my adult life! To be fair, the brand is fairly generous in sizing, but I am taking it!

Hey, my first weight recording of 142.8kg was 25th July 2024.

On 24th July 2025 I was 87.5kg, so I'd lost 55.3kg in a year. So you've lost more than me in the 1st year!

My app thinks I'm 2 weeks off hitting 60kg but it doesn't know about my upcoming holiday 😂

Springflowers2 · 31/05/2026 12:15

Pound of today
15 ,6
Given up on dresses ..it's not happening for me
The fabric touching my legs is irritating me just trying them on .

Bought some new shorts instead
Having a clear out today of everything to big
There's a lot ..again ..
Have new thongs as well 😃

Castlebark · 31/05/2026 14:14

I actually rode my bike today! I'm still over 100kg (16 st 6lb), so did a quick google to check the weight limit first. It was such a fun ride, and nice motivation.

I think I have a sort of reverse body dysmorphia, where I always think I'm skinnier than I actually am. Once I've got workout leggings or trainers on, I feel like I could run a marathon, especially now on WLI with fewer aches and pains. But then I catch myself in a reflection and realise I'm still obese, and haven't been running for many years!

But I have bagged up all my size 22 clothes, and am resolved to never let myself get to that point again, even if I have to pay for medication for life.

TragicMuse · 31/05/2026 15:35

I took 3 bin liners of clothes to the charity shop yesterday! Some of it never worn.

I feel so free...

Mine went into the loft at the weekend. I'm too scared to get rid 😔

eibbed999 · 01/06/2026 07:56

Morning all! Weigh in day, stayed the same - bit disappointing. It's feeling like a long hard slog just to get back to where I was earlier this year, never mind lose any more. Still 20lbs to shift before I'm back at my pre-break, pre-Mounjaro meltdown stage. Ah well, what can you do, other than keep calm and carry on? The food noise is just about being held at bay, but that's what it feels like - like it's always there, lurking beneath the surface, like a caged animal just waiting for its chance to escape! For now I'm okay though, suppression still at my restarted 2.5mg. So that's good!

Went to see Strictly Come Dancing: the Professionals at the theatre on Friday - a Christmas gift from my daughter - and I did fit into the chair. Some spillage, but only onto her (lucky thing), and no digging in or anything - I've been before where I've literally not been able to fit in at all and had to spend the whole night with one arse cheek perched on. I stopped going to shows after that, or spent ages beforehand freaking out trying to find seat measurements on the internet...

Anyhow, have a good week all!

Original SW: 307lbs
Reset SW: 272lbs
CW: 255lbs

afaloren · 01/06/2026 12:59

Well done @eibbed999 the theatre is such a worry isn’t it? I remember going to a show and having to perch sideways on the very edge because I literally couldn’t fit in :( I wouldn’t have been spilling on to anyone other than DH but I just couldn’t fit!

Went to a play at Stratford last week and fitted comfortably. Such a great feeling.

TheZingyFish · 01/06/2026 13:16

Hit 8st off today.

Feels good but also madness. I’m now wearing size 20 on my bottom half, down from a size 28, and I still can’t get my head around how small a size 20 looks and can’t believe I can get into them. The idea that some people that started at a similar size are wearing size 12 and below is beyond what my brain can cope with for myself, I still see myself as my former size in my head and can’t believe I’ll ever get anywhere close to what others have achieved. That said this time last year I never thought I’d get below 20st and I’m now less than 17st!

This journey is as much about changing what is going on in our brains as it is changing our bodies so don’t let anyone ever say this is an easy option.
