@EducatingEater aw thank you 🥰

I know some of you have seen that ridiculous thread about retatrutide.

I reported it because it's encouraging people to get stuff on the black market, which is dangerous, but I see it's still there.

Anyone using retatrutide for weight loss and how is it going? | Mumsnet

Retatrutide is anyone using it? Can I ask how you’re getting on? x

I report those threads whenever I see them but MN are quite inconsistent with removing them. Individual posts with detail about getting hold of these things are more often deleted than whole threads.

The report option used to have “illegal content” as an option, but that seems to have disappeared now.

AlicesMum2025 · 10/05/2026 18:48

Thanks for the new thread. I somehow managed to lose 2.2kg/5lb this week and 1.1kg/3lb last week. I was stalled at end of March and early April so had to drop my calories a bit. I'm pleased it's started moving again because I still have 24kg/4st to get to goal.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 10/05/2026 19:59

Thanks for the new thread @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne .

Well today is my Mounjaro anniversary so being a data geek I thought I’d check in with a few stats on my progress.

SW 140kg 22 stone, BMI 50
CW 193.5kg, 14 st 10lb, BMI 33.2
loss 46.5kg, 7 st 4lb or 102lb
lost 33% of my body weight, averaged 2lb loss a week

Still on 4.25mg dose, have got gastritis from all this unfortunate which is ongoing, it is better controlled some weeks than others so managing dose increases very carefully. Since Jan I’ve managed to exercise at least 6 days a week doing aerobics, HIIT, strength training and Pilates and feeling much fitter!

Clotheswise I’m firmly in a 16 on the top half, bottom half always more of an issue for me, still somewhere between 18-20 which means not all shops are accessible yet!

Current goals: lose 3 more stone and hit that 10 stone loss, which will take me close to BMI 25 and then see how I feel about things.

thanks for all the support since I joined this thread a year ago, I definitely agree that being part of a group helps with motivation and progress.

Today I saw 63. On my scales for the first time, but we're going on holiday again soon so it probably won't last long. I've been in the 64s for so long it was nice to see something different.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/05/2026 20:35

Happy Anniversary @ConfusedMiddleAger83 and well done! It's amazing to look back isn't it.

GrannyDooun · 10/05/2026 20:38

I need help. I am struggling so badly at the moment.

my SW was 23st 3lbs in Feb 2025 and I got down to 17st 9lb but I’m really really struggling.

I take 15mg of MJ but due to serious medical conditions, I cannot do much exercise.

The local pools all have steps down into the water which I cannot do and I do not want to go through what I consider is a personal humiliation of me using the hoist.

I need a serious talking too, to pull myself together and get my focus back on losing more weight so I can have 2 operations that I desperately need.

If anyone has any advice about things that work for them that I can adopt, I would be very grateful.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 10/05/2026 20:38

Wow, what an amazing set of stats @ConfusedMiddleAger83, well done!!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 10/05/2026 21:55

I’m sorry you’re struggling @GrannyDooun what is it that you need help with? Meal planning? Snacking? Or is it mainly exercise you’re concerned with?

Losing weight is much more to do with what you eat than how much exercise you do - though obviously exercise is important and good for you - but the food matters more when it comes to the numbers on the scale so maybe focus on that for now if exercise isn’t possible?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 10/05/2026 23:16

Hello @GrannyDooun what's the main problem?
Has your weight loss stopped, or just slowed down?

Are you still getting good suppression?

If you were able to sit on the edge of the swimming pool, would you be able to lower yourself in?

Morning all. Finally finished the 1,7 wegovy or whatever it is and starting the higher level today. Gained ten pounds while on this level so I hope it works at the higher level. Meanwhile we gave up ice-cream, and other half dropped 11 pounds to 149. My goal is to weigh less than hm and it's getting further away. Oh well there's always jaw wiring

eibbed999 · 11/05/2026 10:35

Morning all! Still on 2.5mg after my restart. My prescriber was happy for me to drop down, so the good news is my pens now cost £133 instead of £270! Suppression is okay, though second time around it doesn't seem to have affected my appetite for alcohol - it had a very strong effect on that first time around, but hey ho, such is life. At least the binge eating has stopped, so that is a massive blessing. Lost 2lb this week after the initial bigger drop when I restarted - frustrating to have to now claw my way back down but by bit, but at least I feel like that's a possibility, like there's some hope again. Hope you're all doing well.

I'm back in the game people
I have it writing from my doctor I'm good to stay on both medications
I'd expected a no ..so id sort of convinced myself it was best to come of it ..
Ideally I want another two stone of
But it's frustratingly slow

That's great news @Springflowers2 - and you've done so well already. This last part must feel like a slog, especially with everything else going on as well, but you will get there in the end. Be patient with yourself!

TragicMuse · 11/05/2026 12:37

Oh there you all are!

I’m yo-yo-ing again around the 12st 2-12st 3.5. Had a brief glimpse of 12st 1.5 last week. It’s sloooooow!

But I have lost 100lbs. And that’s a great boost.

I think I’m now the lightest I’ve been as an adult, which is fab! I can wear 12-14 size clothes. I always said I’d be happy if I could be a 16. When I got there I realised I wanted to be thinner. At 14 I want to be a definite 12. Secretly I’d like to be a 10-12.

So ideally I’d like to lose about another 1st and a few lbs to get into the high 10s. Goodness knows if that’s possible! Well, I suppose it is, but when is the main part of that.

Onwards and downwards losers!

Thankyou ..yes .but that's how it goes ,the last leg is slow

AlicesMum2025 · 11/05/2026 17:18

Big news gang! I wore size 14 jeans today 🎉🎉🎉

They're quite tight on the waist so not for sitting down for long periods, but I took the dog for a walk wearing them at least. Pre-MJ size 28 I hadn't worn jeans for years, always joggers.

I'm hoping at long last my lower belly has read the memo to start shrinking🤞. It's been very stubborn and I look like I have a rubber ring around my lower body.

Doggymummar · 11/05/2026 17:20

So many lovely stories today xxx

PearlsTeapot · 11/05/2026 17:23

I now have two drawers full of snacks, all of my favourites. DW sent me a care package of a whole shoebox full of treats and my friend visited with half of m&s in a bag!

All I'm doing is eating. Snack snack snacking. It's total boredom. I can feel the old habits creeping in but it is what it is. Sorry to moan when it's me being a broken record but it's just me and a laptop and food in this room. Feeling so sad at the moment and desperate to go home, just keep chugging down the meds and hoping they kick in.

I’m having a fruit muller rice and coffee for breakfast
Whatever the best lunch option is, occasionally a Subway salad if it's too terrible
One or two snacks mid afternoon (dried mango, kinder bueno, bag of popcorn etc). Trying to keep it to 1.
Cheese and carrot sandwich for dinner followed by fresh fruit salad. On white bread.

Doesn't look too awful written down but with no movement whatsoever I know the weight is going to pile on. I know I've got bigger problems right now but I hate going backwards. On the plus side, the 5mg is doing good at keeping food noise away- it's boredom, not noise- and I can't overeat so I haven't bothered with ordering takeaways except that McDonalds I had.

Springflowers2 · 11/05/2026 18:02

@PearlsTeapot
probably a daft question..but would they let you have an exercise bike in your room ,one of those £80 fold up ones of Amazon,or maybe a walking pad and some music...my daughter bought a walking pad of Amazon,it slides under her bed,was under £100 .
Sorry if it's a daft question..was just trying to think of ideas for you xx

Ahhh so very pleased to hear it’s going ok @eibbed999. Must admit in the 59 weeks I’ve been on MJ it’s never hampered my enjoying a drink! At nearly half my original weight I certainly can’t handle it as well though.
