My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Has anyone felt they have been more anxious on Mounjaro? I have low level anxiety anyway but its been through the roof the last 3 weeks since I started.

Are you monitoring your heart rate? I think it can raise heart rate which would have that effect.

I haven’t had any anxiety from the meds. If anything, I feel calmer and more able to take things in my stride, but my heart rate hasn’t changed. If it had, I’d be fretting away.

Hope your anxiety passes soon.

Just ordered my first 5mg pen (hopefully I will be approved as I have changed supplier AND requested a higher dose) so I will have done 10 x 2.5mg doses and then will move up to 3.75mg week after next by counting the clicks and see how I feel there before moving up to the full 5!

I have lost 13lb in 8 weeks but half of that was in the first 3 weeks and it’s been a bit of a slog the last 3 weeks! Hoping this will give me another boost.

I’m thinking about doing the same. I’ve lost 8lbs in the first 3 weeks and nothing since despite good suppression and staying well in deficit. I’ll re-assess in 3 weeks when I finish my current 2.5mg pen.

Same here - I've been weighing daily and have been bouncing up and down in the same 0.5kg range for the last 10 days, so I'm hoping something's going to happen soon (in a downwards direction). I need to see a new number on the scales.

ByNiftyPombear · 16/06/2026 18:48

Thanks @KittensAndCupcakes @Hillsmakeyoustrong will go with my gut (!) instinct and hold off. Husband ate the same as me with the Chinese and has been fine, but kids were passing a bug back and forth last week so perhaps it’s that, just manifesting without the projectile vomiting! If the suppression continues like this may consider a half dose next time, it’s horrible being so off food.

Re: anxiety @Hillsmakeyoustrong I haven’t personally but have read others have experienced this and mood changes in general - so highly likely it’s having an effect. Hope it’s not too debilitating.

Also @Hillsmakeyoustrong I think that low blood sugar can make you feel a bit 'jittery', which is one of the things MJ does.

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 16/06/2026 21:33

Thanks guys. Jittery is a good description.

Boreded · 17/06/2026 10:50

Weigh day for me…6 weeks and 25.8lbs off. i’ve got to 25% of my target loss now 🙌 just another 71lbs to go 🤦‍♀️

I think that you didn’t take the full dose because you were nervous is indicative of a bit of a health anxiety. I would suspect that the nervousness you have now is because you are on the jabs, not because of the medication itself.

im just thinking from experience, I used to vomit a few times a month from anxiety, not illness, and it would only ever happen when I had got myself worried the day before that I was going to be ill, and that worry led to my system shutting down and causing me to be ill the next day. Became a self fulfilling prophesy

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 17/06/2026 11:19

Amazing progress @Boreded and yes my anxiety is almost entirely health related due to some chronic health issues over the years. I definitely think this plays a real part like you say but it has definitely been extra the last 3 weeks!

PuppyKeep · 17/06/2026 12:01

Anyone got lots of ulcers? (Week 3)

PuppyKeep · 17/06/2026 12:22

MrsO2b · 11/06/2026 13:01

Thanks. No, I don't drink at all. I'm aiming for 1200 calories a day, low carb, but I'm having trouble getting there some days. Drinking loads of water too. I have a (very) under-active thyroid, which fights me all the way, but we'll get there I'm sure. X

Sorry if you have already answered, but are you being treated for the tyroid?

PuppyKeep · 17/06/2026 12:36

MrsBuntyS · 15/06/2026 18:09

Had a nightmare day today! Woke up to a very heavy period. After 90 days of nothing. I’ve only had about 5 periods in the last two years. I’m 49 and not on HRT and had 5 jabs so far. Then got an absolute monster migraine, haven’t had one that bad before, couldn’t see or read. Had a numb arm and face, it really freaked me out but I’m ok now. Had to eat because I think the low calories, around 1,000 a day didn’t help. Hopefully this won’t happen again. I won’t deterred though!!!

I'm on HRT patches. It hasn't helped with the heavy periods but it HAS helped with migraines. Is it an option for you?

I've heard this happens for some people :(

Yes .... have been for 48 years! I have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimotos)

Sorry to hear that. It must be so frustrating. Does it run in your family?

Could your GP increase your meds given you should be losing weight?

You’ll be ok though, the more you lose the more comfortable you’ll feel in yourself and the lower your anxiety levels (all being well)

and if you are having a bad day you can always come vent to us.

They DEcrease meds when you lose weight... unfortunately 😔

yes, we all have it. Dad, mum, my brother, several cousins and one of my twins. Mostly underactive. I'm the only one with Hashis.

Where? Mouth, legs or elsewhere? No, I haven't had any at all.

@madeinthe80z you’re probably keeping an eye on it, but just pointing out that this is post 922/1000 :)

@Boreded it’s great isn’t it! I’ll monitor and do a thread 2 when we get to about 970 🙂

Not sure about HRT, my mum had a stroke at 40 so she didn’t go on it. My older sister is on it now and keeps hassling me to do it but I am very reluctant. I’ve not had any hormones since before I tried to conceive in 2010 and I’m happy off them! I also take methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis and was on another x 2 meds for it for the last eight years so I’m reluctant to go on anything else! I am hoping the MJ will sort out the meno weight gain and I get them try to get off all meds! My dream is to just exist without a load of medications in my body!

fluffiphlox · 18/06/2026 11:45

Thank you to everyone for their input to this thread. I’m in my ninth week. I have had no real side-effects apart from sometimes being thirstier than normal. Probably lost about 10lbs, with a lot to go. Out of the country for a month or so soon so that might be a test. Continued good luck to everyone.

madeinthe80z · 18/06/2026 14:45

I’ve officially lost a stone guys!! Whoops whoop 🥳
