My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

@Popstarrrrr maybe you are actually hungry right now? If you eat something non biscuity (got any protein source near office? Nuts??), maybe the biscuit fantasies will settle down. I’ve found that since MJ it’s been easier to end any idea about gobbling urgent carbs, but only if I am not actually feeling hungry. I’m still on 2.5mg and suppression only seems to work if I do eat enough actual food to avoid feeling unwell.

Anyway, good luck with riding this one out! Hope it gets easier soon

Congrats that’s great well done!

I did my 5th 2.5mg jab yesterday and I’d say this is the hungriest I have been so far the day after, last week though I did find it increased over the days so we will see what tomorrow brings.

also, the heat doesn’t reduce my appetite at all - I see and hear so many people saying it’s too hot to eat! I’m like nah!

Started on 2.5 on 8th May. Had some side effects that week, but very few since. I do feel my appetite suppression waning as the week goes on but I’m sticking to between 1200 and 1300 cals a day through eating three small meals. Weighed myself this morning and I’m 10lbs down! I can hardly believe it- I’ve been overweight since hitting menopause and scales creep up every year. I’m due to order my next pen and am thinking of getting the 5 but counting clicks so I go up gradually as I’m still losing on the lower dose.
Starting weight 13.1
Current weight 12.5

I was the same last week (also week 4) but I did feel that I got full pretty quickly once I had actually eaten. I don’t actually mind feeling hungry, I think it’s good and normal, as long as I am not reaching for anything crap or over snacking in between meals. I did find that in week 4, my appetite reduced as the week went on randomly, rather than the other way around like previous weeks. Week 5 day 2 now and I have felt hunger today but really very little food house which is great. I’m having around 1500kcals on average and I’m happy with that as I don’t want extreme weight loss. I’ve gone for 2.5 again as I want to check that the change in feeling is consistent before moving up on a rash decision.

It's a bit mental this jabbing malarkey. So I injected half a dose today (1.25 - 9.5 hours ago) and I've had 1500 calories so far and im not hungry. Normally I'd hit over 2000 calories by end of day. I'd be snacking now as I'm good all day but terrible evening and late night. I can't sleep if im hungry! Anyway, I'm intrigued to see if I can stay uninterested all night...

I'm a secret jabber, so I need to be able to have it delivered when I'm working from home. The first one I chose was fine, but the package turned up with a massive "refrigerate on receipt" sticker on it, which would have been difficult to explain if anyone had seen it.

Also - this website will show you the levels of MJ in your system over a period of time if you just plug in dates and timescale. The Shotsy app free version does have an estimated daily level, but I found it interesting to see the peaks and troughs on a graph.

No Asda near here, and they're far from the cheapest as they don't offer any discounts. The cost isn't really a problem in itself, but I'll be buggered if I'm paying more than I need to.

You could be right. I'm trying to eat better so had protein and salad for lunch. It was tasty but I think I misjudged how much food I need. I needed more.

Fortunately, there wasn't a biscuit to be found in the office, had a pear instead. Unfortunately, there was a shop on my way to the tube and I bought sweets.

Working from home tomorrow so will make a good portion of nutritious food.

Ooh thanks for this - I did download Shotsy but the free version has barely any functionality, all I seem to be able to do on it is record which leg I’ve jabbed each week!

the delivery thing is hard! The one I use uses Royal Mail and the delivery time kept changing. Started at 11am-1pm and kept moving all day until it eventually arrived about 6pm! Might have to come up with a cover story?!

Got back from holiday yesterday and had a little weigh in yesterday. I’ve gained 0.6lbs. Furious! Hoping it’s just water weight from these hot temps

Morning everyone. I’ve been absent as I was getting disheartened and then 2 weeks ago I increased to 5mg and wowsers. Immediate suppression!? I’ve lose 10lb in those two weeks but now my issue is ZERO appetite. I’m forcing down the bare minimum each day but cannot face anything. I drink tea and lots of water >2L a day, but I get full super fast when I force food down as well.

Please don’t suggest protein shakes as I can’t stomach any milkshake at all, I’ve got a few “protein” labelled products but my average intake is:
2 tablespoons Greek yogurt and 2 strawberries and 10 blueberries with a couple of tablespoons of protein granola

whole grain or brown rice and bean salad with approx half a chicken breast

thin sizzle steak with more bean salad or regular rocket if I can’t face more bean!

snacks vary from-
Protein bar
boiled egg
half a protein bagel thin with peanut butter

i lost all this but barely manage to finish any of it - I would be happy doing little and often rather than set meals I think however socially this doesn’t always work does it?

advice welcome!

@MJNewbie2026 good morning :) thanks for sharing your 5mg experience as I think we are all creeping towards making that next step decision!

From the little you are eating it sounds like you are making really good decisions and a really high proportion of protein. I’m stealing the bean salad idea! Only switch I can think for you is a protein yoghurt instead of Greek yoghurt for breakfast, especially as you aren’t having too much of it, it would give you an extra 15g or so of protein. Only other suggestion is maybe cut down on the tea so that your tummy isn’t too full of liquid potentially saving more room for food? And not drinking close to or during meal times.

I know on other threads there’s plenty of people who count the clicks and reduce the dose to about 3.75mg as well so it’s a more steady increase.

@madeinthe80zoh I didn’t know about counting the clicks! I took the golden dose of I’d guess 3.75 from my 2.5 pen and this offered great suppression tbh even over a short holiday abroad - quite frustrating 🤣
ill have a scroll further back and look at this thank you!
I only have the Greek as I thought it was naturally higher in protein. Will switch that out as well - great tip 😊

@MJNewbie2026 I know - I think Greek yoghurt is really over rated on the protein front!! You have to have loads of it to get any real high amount (like the amounts we have to aim for taking MJ) my fave protein yoghurts are the Arla protein and I mix with defrosted frozen raspberries to loosen the texture up a bit!

there is a few graphs which tell you how many clicks on each pen (2.5, 5, 7.5 etc) and how much of a dose you will get, I’ll see if I can find one for you …

My first pen is arriving today but I won't be jabbing today as I am going out for a boozy lunch with a friend! Might start tomorrow night...

I'm actually scared that I won't want to eat. I absolutely love food and a lot of my social life is based around food. What if I don't want to eat out any more?

@QueenStevie Don’t worry I still feel hungry. I just get full quicker and have to make slightly different food choices when eating out etc. but I have eaten out and drank alcohol no problem. The first couple of weeks may give you higher suppression and then when your body gets used to it, it should settle

Clear protein juices. It’s just water and powder and turns into squash. I’m with you on the no shakes thing…gross
