Hi… I’ve mostly lurked on the Nov 25 threads as I started Mj on 26th October …
Similar to @SexyFrenchDepression I lost well in weeks 1and 2 then lost between 0.5 and 2.5 lbs per week, reaching target at the end of February. My target was BMI 21 ish so mid healthy range. I also built a stockpile with changing suppliers for discounts then settled on Lotus as they support maintenance and are one of the cheaper suppliers.
Maintenance has probably felt tougher than losing as it’s really hard to let go of the control over calories etc but I think I’m getting there now. I’ve lost a few more pounds and now hover around bmi 20 and have kept my dose around 7.5 mg peer week but I split dose so am taking 35 clicks every 4 days.
The advice from Lotus is to keep things steady when you reach target, stay at the same dose for a while before you try to reduce (if you want to) or stop.
i am finding that whilst I haven’t reduced yet, I am eating what I want, occasionally I will have a snack mostly when others do eg an ice cream etc when out with DH, Dd.
But I don’t have the full on suppression from the early months- I still eat smaller portions and stop when full. I have a drink when I want, but again I drink less - 1-2 drinks are usually enough. We don’t eat a lot of processed food or takeaways etc but do like eating out and that’s where portion sizes can be hard. What I have also found challenging is eating for exercise - I’m now retired, returned to running regularly and out walking etc a lot more, and it’s a bit of a guessing game as to what TDEE should be.
so for now I will probably keep jabbing 35 clicks every 4 days and let things settle further whilst actively trying not to lose more. Basically what I have found is if you are at or near goal and happy with your dose, let things settle before you start to reduce - don’t get caught up in “I must titrate down” unless you really want or need to. I read the maintenance threads as well and there seem to be a lot who
Titrate down or stop fairly quickly and then end up restarting a few weeks or months later.
