New thread 😀 in the nick of time

OP posts:
FrothyCothy · 28/04/2026 19:55

I was feeling pretty good until I saw some pics from Saturday night and then, woah mama, I still have a LONG way to go!

Perimenoanti · 28/04/2026 20:13

I also noticed my hips/sides are no longer touching the armrests of my work chair. I feel tiny in this chair.

Im SO exited to throw out some more oversized clothes.

bookwormcrazy · 28/04/2026 20:27

I have lost 2 stone and I can definitely feel it in my clothes which is good but I don’t think it’s enough yet to go down to size 16 from my 18’s yet.

Octagoneaway · 28/04/2026 22:13

Sounds like everyone is doing well, no matter what our progress looks like.

I finally bought some jeans in a size 12 today. (Although I tried a few pairs before I found some that zipped up). Going away this weekend, so I actually feel like I might look slim (ish). Yay!

BeWildPearlFish · 29/04/2026 06:22

I love reading about all the successes and wins!

I jabbed on Saturday morning and weight had stayed the same as previous week, just weighed today and 2lb down. This has happened a few times where I might have a steady weigh in then lose 2lb the next week so averaging 1lb a week.

SW 13st
CW 10st 11lb
GW 10st

I'm still on 2.5mg, have been using the 5th dose and ordering on schedule so have 2 full 2.5 pens. I'm noticing a little more food noise and some hunger and I was worried last week that I should be on 5mg, but also want to establish good habits around dealing with being hungry without bad food choices. Is anyone else still on 2.5?

People at work are noticing now so lots of hints about MJ without outright asking 🤣
I've bought some new clothes but not a lot, and making use of clothes I've kept to slim in to

I’ve lost the same as you, and now same weight. Averaging 1lb a week off, which is good as it’s not dramatic enough to make everyone know for sure it’s WLI. I’ve had two doses of 7.5mg so far and no side effects (had more nausea on 5mg and lots of stalling, which is why I moved up).

I’ve also had some nosy probing at work “oh, my sister’s been taking mounjaro” as if I’ll then say “me too”. Never! I’m in denial, it’s all natural, just the new collagen powder and walking I’m doing 😂

ThisAmusedPoet · 29/04/2026 08:18

Jab day!
I’ve had a “whoosh” this week, which was surprising! So I think it took my body three weeks to adjust to the new 7.5mg jab but now I’m there and no side effects at all - just the appetite suppression and lack of food noise. I’m so grateful to MJ! I’m so close to having a “normal” range BMI, which is very exciting.

SW 1/1/26 - 93.3kg
Jan (2.5mg) 86.5kg -6.8kg
Feb (5mg) 82.5kg -4kg

MJ14 (7.5mg golden) 8/4/26 - 78kg -1kg
MJ15 (7.5mg) 15/4/26 - 77.4kg -0.6kg
MJ16 (7.5mg) 22/4/26 - 77.4kg 0kg
MJ17 (7.5mg) 29/4/26 - 75.6kg -1.8kg

GW: 68kg
Total loss: -17.7kg

bec81 · 29/04/2026 10:21

A good week here too, down another 1.3kg. First round of 0.75mg. Total loss of 14.7 and am now firmly in the normal bmi range, though still very much at the upper end of it.
SW: 81.5kg
CW: 66.8kg
TW: maybe 60kg, we'll see how i look/feel in a month

MrTiddlesTheCat · 29/04/2026 14:39

Week 17 of 2.5 mg for me today. 2.1 kg loss. I'm very happy with that.

SW: 135 kg
CW: 112.9 kg
Total loss: 22.1 kg (3.5 stone)

FrothyCothy · 29/04/2026 18:52

Spectacular losses, well done all!

FrostyFlo · 30/04/2026 10:22

Sorry to be the one to knock the great losses in the head but drumroll ........ 3lbs in a month , yep , a month .
If I could say I know why as I've been having a blowout ( or several ) but nope still plodding on as normal with good suppression .
On Wegovy , been taking 1mg for two months due to diarrhoea. ( you'd think that would help )
Move up to 1.7mg tomorrow.
On a positive had excellent losses early on so 36lb so far but still have several stones to go .

MrTiddlesTheCat · 30/04/2026 10:42

@FrostyFloIf you have good suppression but aren't losing, do you need to look at what you're eating rather than how much?

8books · 30/04/2026 11:23

@FrostyFlo a loss is a loss. Keep going! I’ve had a several weeks of stalling and then a bit more of a whoosh at totally random intervals. Also, try clothes as sometimes the NSV is greater!

Also, the more weight I lose the slower the losses. If that makes sense 😂

Hettar · 30/04/2026 11:35

Week 16 update on 3.75 mg

SW: 17 st 8lbs
CW: 14 st 5lbs
TW: 12 st

Just a 1.5 pound loss this week, but I'm happy with that. Total loss now is 3 st 3lbs (45 lbs).

Thanks for the advice , however I do feel I'm eating ok . Yesterday was 1 Wheatabix with semi skimmed milk .5 of a banana , handful of blueberries . Lunch was 2 crispbreads , Cottage cheese , a few baby tomatoes & cucumber , a pear .
Dinner White fish fillet , about 3 new potatoes , broccoli & carrots . About 2/3 tablespoons of 0% Greek yoghurt a few raspberries . Water & mint tea , ginger tea throughout the day .
that's pretty much what I eat most days , don't eat meat , instead of fish might have Tofu or a 2 egg omelette with mushrooms .
Any suggestions where I could be going wrong ?

It might sounds strange but have you totalled up the calories of that with protein and fibre etc? It might be that you’re not eating enough.

2026istheyear2 · 30/04/2026 17:58

NSV today - had my blood pressure taken and didn’t need the larger cuff 🎉 it was also bang in the healthy range. I got it checked as have felt a bit dizzy when standing up a few times in last few weeks. As BP fine the pharmacist thinks it is my glucose dropping due to the MJ so I need to eat more regularly and drink more.

I haven't but as a life long yoyo dieter and only 5ft tall I've weighed 7stone 12 , and also close to 16 stone in my life . I've lost and gained so probably stuffed up my metabolism . I think the top end of him for my height is something like 8 stone 10 and even in the high 6 stone is not classed as under weight !

I just checked a 18.7 would put a 5ft woman at 6 stone 12 !

MrTiddlesTheCat · 01/05/2026 07:28

@FrostyFloBlimey, you're eating less than I do and I'm losing 1-2 kg a week. I don't know why you're not losing. Is not eating enough really a thing @bookwormcrazy?

bookwormcrazy · 01/05/2026 07:43

@MrTiddlesTheCat
Yes, I think not eating enough calories and the right types of food like protein can slow down weight loss.

Theres lots of resources and websites that talk about this. One snippet - “Yes, not eating enough calories can significantly slow down or stall weight loss. Severely under-eating triggers "metabolic adaptation," where the body enters a survival mode, lowering its resting metabolic rate to conserve energy, resulting in fewer calories burned”.

@FrostyFloThats why I asked how many calories you were eating. I aim for around 1500 and I think I am similar to you in size and height (5ft2). Your daily intake looks impressive but it looks on the surface quite low in calories and protein which is really important.

when I stick to 1500 calories a day I lose about 2lbs a week which is what has happened this week and I am really happy with that.

Can I ask how tall are you ?

I don't know as I don't actually track calories . I will today and see how I get on. What app do you use ?

bookwormcrazy · 01/05/2026 08:10

@FrostyFlo
I use GlucoPal as I track my injections and weight through it as well.

yesterday I probably only had about 1200 calories despite eating quite a bit and having a big tuna Niçoise salad for dinner so I treated myself to a bit of chocolate to bump it up.

it does take a mindset shift to track everything all the time and I wasn’t able to do that with hubby in hospital but now he’s back I have been able to do it all week and it really shows.

bookwormcrazy · 01/05/2026 08:24

Weigh day for me, although I have moved my injection from fri evening to Thurs evening as I like to have a glass or 2 of wine on a Friday now that I am back at work.

Really good week for me. Back to tracking my calorie and protein intake properly and it shows as I had my normal 2lb weekly loss which I am more than happy with.

SW - 15st 13lbs
CW - 13st 10lbs
GW - 10st 7lbs

Total loss - 2st 3lbs

Hubby is doing ok and managing on his treatment. He had a checkup to make sure his liver and kidneys weren’t going back in the wrong direction after starting chemo again and all good. Liver is still shaky but stable and kidneys have definitely improved.
It’s been a good week all round!

FrothyCothy · 01/05/2026 08:54

Anyone else taking measurements? I’m doing it intermittently, started in Feb (though was doing some previously when I was doing a bootcamp). As of today I’ve lost 4cm from my bust, 3.2 from my waist, 8 from my hips, 2 from each thigh and 1 from each calf. Can pretty much double those for changes since June last year. Not earth shattering but slow and steady changes!
