I’m not done yet either.
5ft 9 and now weigh 11st 4. My starting weight was 16st 9.

I’m now in size 12 or 14 clothes and am delighted (and amazed) by that, but aiming lose a little more, maybe to around 10st 7 which would put me right in the middle of my average weight bracket. I think I’m still carrying a lot of subcutaneous fat and really need to focus now more on strength training and body recomposition.

I’m due to have an operation on my foot at some point in the not too distant future which will considerably impact my ability to do many forms of exercise for around 6 months! I’m really worried about this and am considering engaging a personal trainer to help me work through my recovery and figure out what kind of things I can still do (and to keep me actually doing them!). At least this time on MJ has got me to a much better place before the op.

thefluffycat · 18/10/2026 08:52

Well done to everyone on the losses! 🎉

I’ve been off MJ for around a month (after a number of months of 1.25 intermittently) and I’m still maintaining and feeling great!

I think swapping my HRT when starting MJ has helped, as what I was on before clearly didn’t agree with my body.

It’s a good job as it’s been so many months since I bought a pen, and now I’m a healthy BMI I don’t think I’d be prescribed it by anyone, even for maintenance!

8books · 18/10/2026 09:49

@thefluffycat well done maintaining!! 👏

I’ve got the dilemma about ordering! I’m wondering if I get another pen now before I time out! I think I’ve got another week before I lose that opportunity.

I only want to lose 1/2kg more as my BMI is 21.6 and I’m on the edge of being too skinny, I think! I looked absolutely fine being much slimmer in my 20’s/30’s, but late 40’s and being too slim risks looking scrawny. Must be about fat distribution.

I’ve got a new 12.5mg in the fridge that I plan to use for 5mg jabs, so that will last for 10 weeks to end December! I could get another one for small dose maintenance 🤔

I had a foot op earlier this year, bed rest for 2 weeks and then crutches and a surgical boot. Only back to walking after 6 weeks. It actually helped a lot with my weight loss as I couldn’t get snacks so easily 😂

I found a seated upper body work out that I then did with hand weights!

Good luck for your op! I’m due to have the my other foot done after Xmas, so I’ll be here in sympathy.

P.s. Don’t skip physio! I hate it, but it helped so much.

Perianth · 18/10/2026 11:11

@8books it wasn’t for Hallux Rigidus was it?

I’m a massive fan of walking, and it’s my go to activity for stress management, so the idea of not being able walk anywhere is filling me with dread. I also live on a house with a ridiculous number of stairs, so I’m not sure how I’m going to manage that.

On the plus side, I’ll have plenty of time for crochet by the sound of it, and maybe I’ll end up with super defined shoulders and arms!

Onbdy · 18/10/2026 17:03

@Perianth
I had two lots of foot surgery this year and was only told to avoid exercise for 4 weeks each time. Weight loss wasn’t really affected either. Hope it goes well. I am due to have major surgery elsewhere soon and I know my mobility will be impacted more by that. I’m hoping to lose a few more pounds before then.

8books · 18/10/2026 17:30

@Perianth Yes, same op! I had my left foot done end April. I was supposed to do my right foot in September, but I’ve been avoiding it 😂🙈 Now planning for January.

It was much more painful and debilitating than I’d imagined, but I was walking 20,000 steps a day very comfortably after 12 weeks.

Do you have a date yet?

Perianth · 18/10/2026 17:41

That’s amazing @8books! Everything I’ve read makes the recovery sound horrendous and lengthy! I think I can endure horrendous, but I’m balking at lengthy. Are you glad you had it done? I’m guessing you must be, if you are having the other one done.

My first consult is in two weeks, so no date yet.

ETA - the op involves bone fusion @Onbdy so I’m guessing that’s why the recovery is more lengthy.

8books · 18/10/2026 17:56

@Perianth it was horrendous! I didn’t want to say that before you mentioned it. I did no research before, so was shocked at how much pain I was in after. It was agony to have my foot down for the first two weeks even to have a wee! So I’d stick to bed rest if you can for two weeks! I was very fortunate that DH and DC did everything for me.

A few things made my recuperation better:

  1. a latex leg cushion from Amazon.
  2. a blanket lifter frame to keep the duvet off my foot. Again, from Amazon.
  3. shower stool from Amazon. I actually didn’t shower for two weeks 😂 but it was a blessing for a good month after.
  4. a waterproof foot bag, again from Amazon.
  5. silicone handle grips for my crutches. Yup, also Amazon.
  6. prescription for morphine for 4 days, then 12 days of dihydrocodeine. Not from Amazon haha.
  7. physio religiously twice a week from week 6!

Glad I did it. I haven’t had pain since from the fixed toe. Need to choose a date for the second op and stick to it!

Hope your consultation goes well.

@Perianth
Ouch sounds painful! Mine was due to cancer which needed two lots of surgery and a skin graft. Next one is a knee replacement but I’m hoping to be back in action after 6 weeks! 🤞

Perianth · 19/10/2026 10:27

@Onbdy poor you - that's a lot! I hear knee replacement is brutal too, but with amazing results! Good luck with it.

@8books 😫thanks for the tips - forewarned is forearmed I guess!!

goldylock · 19/10/2026 11:12

Haven't posted here in maybe over a month.

I started at 14 stone in Jan on MJ.

Weight loss was eye turning inwardly slow.

By end of April, I decided to switch to WG. Cost was becoming a factor.

Lost a bit then stayed at around 12 stone 13 for 2 months. Kept plugging away. Didn't weigh myself for the last month.

I started dosing 35 clicks of 2.4mg on a Thursday, and another 35 clicks on a Monday, to give full 2.4mg, and it restarted weight loss.

This morning am 12 stone 3. So delighted.

The health benefits also I feel them. Esp a thyroid issue I have had has now reversed itself. Inflammation has lowered in my body. My weight goes to my stomach/last place to loose it, and I've gone from a red/danger, to orange. I'll take orange!

My goal weight is 12 stone by Christmas, and then 11.5 stone next year. I play a lot of sport, so under 11.5, I am too skinny for my 5, 7 frame.

Its been a very slow process for me, but might encourage others if reading this to keep going.

@Perianth
Yeah, not the best year and it would have been so easy to give up on the weight loss but my New Year’s resolution is still going strong. Has to be a record! It’s my second knee replacement so I am fully prepared for the pain. I’m hoping the recovery might be a bit easier this time. 🤞 Hope your surgery goes well too!

HollywoodTease · 20/10/2026 11:55

Checking in Week 40

SW. 99.9kg
CW. 71.25kg
Total loss. 28.65kg (63lbs)
Loss this week 1.15kg (2.5lbs)

Now comfortably in size 12 jeans and 34HH bra with very little overspill.

I've been helped a little this week I think as I had 2 front teeth removed and replaced by a denture on Friday so I've only been able to eat soft foods (shakes, soups, scrambled eggs, mushy cauliflower cheese!) all weekend.

Still fairly slow and steady.

Oh, and I treated myself to a hair topper and some extensions as well, although I'm still getting the hang of clipping them in. 😳 So new body, new teeth and now new hair - I am a different person to the one I was at the start of the year for sure!

I just need to get a grip on some proper exercise. I keep saying I will, but I haven't yet. Shame on me!

FrothyCothy · 21/10/2026 20:28

I am slightly crediting the colder weather but my wedding ring fits!! For the first time since Covid!

Onbdy · 23/10/2026 10:08

I stayed the same for the first time this week. Well I lost 0.3 which isn’t worth reporting! I have moved up to 10mg now. I’m feeling pretty demoralised after realising I’ve only lost 3 pounds in the last 4 weeks. I’m exercising, eating around 1100 calories, hitting my protein goal etc. My suppression is good but I really feel that it’s stopped working in terms of weight loss and I’m wondering whether my body has decided it’s happy at this weight. I was so looking forward to seeing the number 10 (I’m 11.07) on the scales this morning! 😢 I’m 5ft 1 still around 1.5 stones over healthy BMI. I am wondering whether I’m just not meant to be any lighter. I’m 50, with a size 12 hourglass figure (10 in some shops) with a high muscle mass and H cup boobs so I don’t look overweight anymore. When I started I always said I’d be happy around 10.5 as it’s more sustainable. Has this happened to anyone else? I will definitely buy another 10mg pen and give it a few weeks but I don’t really want to carry on paying around £300 for nothing. Any advice?

I think you're being a bit hard on yourself?

I am a similar height, weight and build (maybe less muscular and more flabby than you!) and I have kind of accepted that at this stage weight loss will slow down.

I think of it as I've lost the "easy" weight now and what is left us the stubborn, clingy weight that has had years to bed into my body so of course it will be harder to shift.

My mindset is that as long as it's still going down I just need to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm still rarely hungry, not tempted to snack, not drowning my sorrows in booze so the Mounjaro is still plodding away in there doing it's job. It's just that the work is harder for it now!

I'm still wavering about going up to 10. Please keep posting and let us know if you feel that it's helped, you may help me make up my mind 🙂

Thanks @HollywoodTease You’re right. I’m very good at being hard on myself. I will keep you updated on the 10mg. I know it sounds ridiculous but I think I’ll feel better if I see a 10 on the scales, even if it’s 10 13.5!

HollywoodTease · 23/10/2026 11:26

@Onbdy

I hear ya! 11-1 for me now, I would be so chuffed to see 10-anything! 10-10 will be my 5 stone point, so near yet still so far....... Don't think it will happen this week, but maybe in the next 2-3? 🤞

GreenLemonade · 23/10/2026 14:20

@Onbdy One piece of advice I often see on other forums is to increase your calories to maintenance level for a week or two to give your body a break from the stress of being in a calorie deficit. The idea is that when you return to eating in a deficit, your weight loss may pick up again.

I haven’t tried doing this intentionally but whenever I’ve been on holiday the scales moved down nicely in the weeks afterwards.

Just something to consider!

Hello everyone! I've been very AWOL for quite a while. I've just caught up on the thread - well done on all the losses and sympathies to those of you in a slight rut, as I have been! Had a busy few months, mostly away from home travelling for work & fun, plus helping family out in various parts of the country. I'm glad to have come out of it with only a 2lb gain. I've still been jabbing, but only taking 5mg every couple of weeks as it was difficult to manage the food part when travelling and I'd wake up feeling nauseous in the night, but I think it probably helped me not go completely overboard on feasting whilst traveling. I'm more or less back home now (just a couple of short trips to do over the next two weeks) so trying to get back to a normal routine. Not the ideal summer for weight loss, but at least not a big gain despite living on mostly bread, cheese and cakes, but I was partly making the most of it, as I'm not sure what the future holds for my work thanks to tech developments usurping my skill set, so there's a chance I'll need to change things a bit and be more static in future. I've had a good few decades of lots of travel thanks to work (always manage to stay away longer than the time needed to work), so I'm thankful for that as I do enjoy getting to visit new places.

As always when I get back from a long trip, its a real struggle to get back into a routine. I had meant to go to the gym today AND do a big shop (I've been doing the complete opposite of government advice and living off my store cupboard rather than stocking it up!). I might make it to the shops, but I think the gym is blown for today. Definitely happening tomorrow - I'm going to timetable it!

I've been contemplating the next few months. I lost most of my weight (currently at around -26lbs) at the start of this year, so I know hunkering down for winter works well for me. I don't really drink or go to parties etc, so Christmas doesn't have a big effect on me until the actual week of when I spend time with extended family, but we're planning a quiet one this year. I'm 12 Stone 6 and a bit now, I'd like to get well into 11 something by the end of this year. I think my goal is 10.7 stone, though I have a slight urge to get to 9.13 just to ee a single digit on the scale, but that might well be too low for me (I'm 5'6, but quite a bit of muscle). 11.2 or under is a healthy BMI for me apparently. I have a backlog of pens, a full 7.5mg and two 10mg hiding in the fridge. I have about two weeks worth left in my current pen (7.5mg, but I've been counting clicks to 5mg to work back up slowly to the full weekly dose) so potentially have a 3-4 month supply. If I get down to 11 stone, I'm considering a switch to the tablets - partly cost, partly convenience. The lowest I know I've ever been as an adult is 11.5, which was just before Covid. Of course I thought I was a big lump back then, but looking at photos I look bloody amazing (with a bonus of no grey hairs!).

I'm partly glad it's gone so slowly for me, especially as I haven't told anyone about the MJ, so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that I've done it on my own (this year is my comeback year after a lot of health problems, so it makes sense!) and also so my skin can slowly adjust to the new shape with a bit of elasticity. I was losing a lot of hair earlier in the summer, but that seems a bit better now. Ready for Round 2, another 27lbs off will get me to my 10.7 objective.

CatNoBag · Yesterday 19:24

That was a long one, sorry!

@CatNoBag
With all that going on you have done amazingly! I have had a horrific year health wise and it would have been so easy for me to give up. I’m more proud of the fact I didn’t give up (as I definitely would have done pre MJ!) than I am of losing over 5 stone. You should be proud of what you’ve achieved too. 😊
