I’ve just weighed myself and I’m pleased. Recovering from an op so I’ve been entirely sedentary all week!

SW 81kg (12st 11lbs) BMI 28
CW 69kg (10st 12lbs) BMI 23.9
GW 63kg (9st 13lbs) BMI 21.8

Quite a slow loser. It’s taken 18 weeks to drop 27lbs. But the plus side it’s not been overly dramatic to cause suspicion I’m using WLI (only DH and my best friend know). Skin elasticity is fine so far, my boobs still look good (priorities 😂) and I haven’t had loads of hair loss.

I’ve also got a secret goal weight of 60kg (9st 6lbs) BMI 20.8.

Hoping to do another 2 months of 7.5mg, then start moving back down. I’d be quite happy to stay on micro dosing MJ. I like the relaxed state of no food noise.

Has anyone done research on long term benefits of MJ? There’s so much negativity about it, but I feel good now I’ve moved up. I felt nauseous and was sick a few times on 5mg. No side effects after three doses of 7.5mg.

InstantRegret · 01/05/2026 14:11

@8booksthat’s interesting that you feel better on 7.5mg than 5mg. I’ve just taken my 8th dose of 5mg but felt so poorly on it last week for the first time (heartburn, nausea, stomach cramps, fatigue).
I was supposed to jab again yesterday but put it off until today as I couldn’t face it. Hoping for a better week 🙏 It’s put me off moving up but that’s reassuring that you’re finding 7.5mg ok 🙂

8books · 01/05/2026 14:25

@InstantRegret I had three separate days on 5mg where I threw up in public (on a train, outside a restaurant on Mother’s Day and in my office. Thankfully I had nappy bags with me!!), plus several occasions of vomiting in the morning at home! No issues at all on 7.5mg. Brushing my teeth is fine now with no retching at all.

I only moved up because I’d stalled on the weight loss at 5mg. Hope your side effects improve!!

Perimenoanti · 01/05/2026 14:50

I'm back in the game. I'm week 2 on 1mg of wegovy. The feeling of fullness is insane. It's going to speed up my weightloss now. I still have a great appetite though, but that is ok. I'd better learn and deal with it or it will be my downfall eventually. It makes me realise how much was my own effort during the past month - getting each meal right so I feel full and reduce the cravings and stay in a deficit.

I am up 2lb this week, but I know it is water as my period is due. 2lb before my period is actually very little. it is often 4lb, so I cann't wait to see what the scales will show in a few days.

I feel great. I feel very compact, not so out of proportion. My lower half lost more than my upper half, so everything is a bit more aligned.

I am SO happy I started this journey in January. I could in theory move up doses three more times, so unless I get some unexpected severe side effect I know I can lose LOADS of weight. I don't even care how fast it is. I just want to learn to eat right and manage my cravings and my appetite. I want to get to a stage where I can have full confidence in myself around food as opposed to food ruling my world.

I wouldn't consider that slow. I started at a similar weight and am currently a similar weight and feel like its been steady if not a little too fast

I don't know as I don't actually track calories . I will today and see how I get on. What app do you use ?

I'm trying to cut off eating by 6pm , I'm finding I have less symptoms if I do .
I said I'd check calories today and they come in at 1,150 .
I also looked up my TDEE ( think I got that right ) and for my height they suggested 1,182 calories to lose weight .
Some of you have commented that I might not be eating enough , but of course the calories needed depend on different factors and height etc .

Onbdy · 01/05/2026 18:03

Another 2 pounds off for me this week, my biggest loss for the month despite the fact I’m not moving much as I’m recovering from surgery. 36.5 in total since January. I’ve also lost the following since January;
13cm off chest
6.5cm off waist
18cm off hips
7.5cm off thigh
5cm off calves.

Its funny how it affects us all differently
I was absolutely fine on 5mg
But 7.5 I am as sick as a dog

I do wish I had measured everything before starting this journey as I can see a change in my figure, especially my waist.
I don’t think I have reduced a clothes size yet although everything is much looser but still wearable. I think I am scared to try really, I am not mentally ready to see if I have lost a dress size only to be disappointed. I also don’t really want to be buying new clothes for every dress size I loose so going to wait a bit longer.

In which case I would question if enough of what you are eating is protein and fibre and also drinking enough water because they are also important?

I do personally think that 1100 calories is too low but that’s my preference and I am happy with a slow and steady weight loss at 1500cals at the minute.

I think it feels slow as I’ve had a few weeks/fortnights over the 4 months where I’ve stalled entirely which has been disheartening. But when I lift 12kg during a workout it’s astonishing how heavy it actually is!! And it’s wild to think all the fat/stress was on my joints whilst walking about and now it isn’t!! Well done on your loss

Yes, im exactly the same. Ive had a few weeks of plateaus and also a few unexpected bigger losses. But when I lift my dog (I had lost the equivalent of his weight a few weeks back) or think of the combined birth weight of my 2 fully formed human kids (0.4kg off that one), im amazed that 1) I had that much to lose and 2) that I lost it. And all.that since 2026 started, which feels like only a couple of weeks ago.

I’ve gone down a few dress sizes so I’ve had to buy some new clothes. I have been a yo-yo dieter so have a few smaller items I’ve kept anyway. I’m just under 5”2 so can’t really get away with wearing clothes that are too big. I am just buying a few essential pairs of jeans and trousers from Vinted and Shein.

glutenisthedevil · 02/05/2026 13:38

Weigh day today and another 2lbs off, taking me to 41.5lbs in total. I'm a pesky half a pound off a nice round 3 stones, but given I could probably lose that by a toilet visit I'm taking it! 😀
Another 3lbs off and I'll be overweight instead of obese. Yay!

I've gone from a dress size 18-20 to a 16 but haven't had to buy too many clothes. As another yo-yo dieter I have some clothes to fall back on which, thankfully, haven't gone out of fashion. I am desperately in need of new bras though as my current ones are like big empty pockets of sadness everytime I look down!

goldylock · 02/05/2026 18:31

Hi all Jan 26 starters,

2 weeks ago, I took my last dose of MJ 5 mg.

I was no longer responding to 5 mg and when I started I said I'd draw a line at over e400 per month (Ireland) for the injection.

There were also issues with changing from MJ to WG (tech issues) and I also had a holiday to Madrid open/tennis. Was 14 stone starting Jan 26 and 2 weeks ago (last weigh in) 13 4.

And so, after all that, I will be starting WG 1 mg this Thursday (more affordable) and will see if any better response.

Well done on all the work/losses.

Best of luck with it @goldylock. Ive been on wegovy since the start, and have been flying it. Hopefully it suits you as well. Its definitely much more affordable - €125 per month is still a lot of money, but its not €400.

Perimenoanti · 03/05/2026 00:57

I second what @bec81 says @goldylocks . Wegovy hasnt completely switched off my food noise but it works well enough. Now at 1mg I understand when people say they cannot finish their meal on a glp1. It is happening to me now. I think previously it only happened for a short period of time when I first started taking wegovy. At a relatively low cost (I pay £92) it is brilliant without much pressure.

notcomfortable · 03/05/2026 10:23

Happy Sunday all
I haven't been tracking as well as I should have been but not gained anything
I don't really want to go beyond 7.5

Thanks Perimenoanti. It is encouraging to read.

Ill have been off MJ for 3 weeks by this Thursday and so wonder what side effects will be like.

On 5 mg MJ, had no appetite suppression or anything. Not even a tiny bit and 7.5 mg here is cost of a small mortgage.

Has anyone switched from MJ to WG? I’m thinking I may have to due to cost but wanted to hear any experiences first 🙂

Have you thought about getting the higher doses of MJ and stretching them out?

I just ordered another 7.5mg (with the golden dose) when I really should have ordered 10mg and stretched it out to do 7.5mg 🤦🏼‍♀️

No but I have read so many people disappointed in wegovy as its not as strong/effective as mj so they found they wasted their money as no hunger suppression
