Keep going @FrothyCothy and @bec81, it has to come off eventually if you’re using MJ and still in a calorie deficit.

I had the longest plateau through June and into July. Really disheartening (and it would have been easy to spiral eat if I hadn’t been so stubborn 😂), but it started shifting again eventually.

Yes, mine started to shift also. A little too fast in fact. After the zigzag on the scales over june/july I increased the dosage. But the weight started coming off far too quickly, given that im almost at target, so am tapering down the dosage and upping the duration between doses to slow it down now

@Topsyturvey10 , @FrothyCothy and everyone else who's a bit stuck... I'm exactly the same. All the weight I've lost was basically from January to April. Since then I've been up and down between two pounds, stubbornly going nowhere. For me, I know earlier in the year I completely locked down, we didn't go anywhere, I was logging every morsel I ate, I completely cut out sugar and alcohol and I was training for a marathon + going to the gym at least twice a week. I'd told myself I could have a little breather post marathon, but then came a long period of being away from home a lot, spending time with family, got completely sucked into a big project that wasn't supposed to be my job AT ALL, but took over my life and time for a month, and so the sugar and alcohol is back (not at all massively, I barely drink still, but probably the sweet treats & bakery runs have been doing some damage), my exercise routine came crashing down big time as I didn't really have time between work and family. I had stuck to 5mg for a while, then recently went up to 6.25mg and this week I've gone up to 7.5mg. I should get back to logging again, but I've also got another period of being away coming up soon so it's difficult to get my head into it knowing it will only be for a short while. End of September I have some 'fun' travel planned (as opposed to doing my duty travel😂). I'd originally hoped to be done with it by then, but still have ~25lbs to go. I really didn't want to go on the max dose as I'm worried about relying on it too much and then needing to stop. I think for the next month, I need to get my head back to where it was at the start of the year, enjoy my trip in Sept/Oct, then back to locking down and tackling those last stubborn pounds. If I can lost 6lbs by mid-Sept (completely doable right?!), then I'll be pretty happy with myself as that will be me @ 11St something, a number I haven't seen for about 7 years!

So I'm edging towards the 4 stone mark with just a couple of pounds to go , but sadly the same to go ! ( at least )

Onward and ever downward 😂😏

Who else is in for a marathon and not a sprint ?

Perianth · 06/08/2026 13:10

Still plodding alongside you @FrostyFlo I've made it to 4.5 stone off so far and have another 1.5-2st to go. I'm within a hair's breadth of finally entering the normal BMI range.

Hettar · 06/08/2026 16:31

Thursday update

SW: 17 st 10 lbs
CW: 12 st 8 lbs
GW: 11 stone

Had a 2 pound loss this week and am still in 3.75mg of MJ.

I'm back in the gym after having last week off and life is good. I'm getting comments from people saying I should stop now. I'm still in the overweight BMI but more importantly I can see and feel the fat on me.

I'm planning on reducing my dose when I hit 11 stone and then reverse dieting for a month or 2.

Definitely! I'm 50lbs down with about the same to go to reach my ultimate goal.

It's partly why I've set small targets along the route, it makes me feel better when I can cross one off! I'm now about 4lbs off my next one, which is to have lost 25% of my starting weight. After that it's about another 5 or 6 to be overweight rather than obese....

Small steps, keep plodding on 🙂

I'm the same as you@Hettar. 2lbs off this week, still on 3.75mg and people (who are always slimmer than me) now telling me I should stop. It's become so frustrating that I've started divulging my weight to them and asking them if they'd be happy at that weight. That usually does the trick. I think they just see a stark difference in body image (and confidence) without knowing the numbers.

I'm on Week 31 now and the 11s are in touching distance. I haven't been 11 anything in about 17 years! I've lost 60lbs in total.

Another 3 pounds off this week, 58 in total. Pleased with that. Just under 2 pounds to get into the next stone bracket. My size 12 clothes are now fitting comfortably. I want to lose another 25 pounds and I’ll see how I feel after that. I’ll still be a few pounds above a healthy BMI but I’m short with massive boobs and seeing as I’m already a 12, I’d look ridiculous at anything less than a size 10 at the age of 50. Does anyone else feel the same?

AddUpToNothing · 08/08/2026 22:54

Evening all,

It’s been a while. I’ve been busy with work and life but I’m still plodding along. Just been catching up on everyone’s progress over the past few pages, I really am amazed at how far we have all come since January.

@glutenisthedevil we seem to be twinning. I started at 16st 1 and am now 12st 1. I also honestly can’t remember a time I was 11st something. It was probably around 21 years ago.

Still got a couple of stone to go at least. And I’m very much an apple. So I’m hoping it will shift from all the right places. I was definitely thinner last time I weighed 12st but I was also a lot younger 😂 but it’s nice not to be in the obese category.

bec81 · 08/08/2026 23:39

Im on holidays at the moment, my suitcase weighs 18kg. I tried to pick it up but it was way too heavy to lift. Ive lost 19kg. How the hell was i carrying that around on my body, it makes no sense. Delighted to have removed it from myself but disgusted that I was carrying that sort of excess to begin with

glutenisthedevil · 09/08/2026 12:34

@AddUpToNothingoh, me too. I have a mum tum this time around which has totally changed my shape. Sadly, I'm losing it in places I wish it would stay. Guess it'll come off where it wants to and there's not much we can do about it!

thefluffycat · 09/08/2026 17:40

Still in the low 10s here and and a very slow journey to the 9s! I’m feeling great though - enjoying wearing all the summer dresses and loving being able to throw on anything and feel great!

Starting weight was 14st5 and lots of people have been commenting recently, from friends I haven’t seen for a while, to neighbours down the street!

Here’s a progress photo. Not the best as I don’t take photos of myself so I’ve had to crop out other people!

Ralphiesaurus · 09/08/2026 18:36

Wow you can really see the difference, @thefluffycat - must feel great!

@bec81 I had a similar experience the other day when I lifted a 20kg bag of bird seed to pour it into a container... blimey. Difficult to believe I was carrying that around with me all the time!

8books · 09/08/2026 22:35

You look fabulous @thefluffycat. Well done!

I lost just under 19kgs before coming on hols. It’s a massive amount of weight (full suitcase) to lift!

We’re in the US at the moment (Disney). Astonishing how many morbidly obese people there are. So many using mobility scooters to get around. Dreadful 😱 I know I’m being very judgy now 😂 I probably wouldn’t have noticed as much until taking MJ myself. I wonder if they know about the miracle drug. P.s. it’s an expensive hotel, so not an affordability issue.

Perianth · Yesterday 07:15

Bodies are weird. There was me yesterday, feeling despondent as I’d gained half a pound last week. This morning, I’m down 2 and a half lbs, have finally tipped into the healthy BMI category and am only .4 of a lbs away from being in the 11s. Elation!

SW 16st 9.0lb
CW 12st 0.4lbs
GW 10st 7.0lbs

thefluffycat · Yesterday 10:12

Thank you all! Well done on all of your losses.

@8books that’s where I went a few months ago and I noticed the same. I looked up MJ in the US at the time and found it’s around £1000 a dose (or was then at least) which helps explains it somewhat as it’s much more expensive than here! Plus there’s all the older kids in pushchairs (even 10+) who according to the groups I’m on do not have disabilities but have their parents saying ‘why should they have to walk when they get tired?’! We were at Beach Club with the free dining plan; lunch, 2 course table service meal for dinner and gigantic snack each day and I ate it all and but somehow still lost 1lb when I came back - it really is a miracle drug!

2026istheyear2 · Yesterday 16:03

Well done all on your losses (and on a healthy BMI @Perianth!). I’m now 5 stone down and 4 pounds from a healthy BMI so touching distance. That was my original goal weight but I think I am now going to see if I can lose half a stone more and have some wiggle room. I need to stop buying new clothes but am really loving having a new wardrobe!
