18 kg lost since starting mid January, BMI is now 22.5. I passed my original goal some time ago, now I need to decide whether when I reach the new goal of 2-3 more kg down that is in fact my stopping point. How do other people decide they have lost the right amount and don't want to keep going?

I can't get used to not being overweight. I still think of myself as overweight and feel overweight and pick up clothes in shops that are 3 sizes bigger than I need now; I have hardly bought any clothes as I have lost weight as something in my head cannot accept that I need smaller ones. I went bra shopping this weekend after using the ABTF calculator and was astounded to find the suggested size was right. I have jeans that I bought a couple of months ago that are too big now but I can't make myself buy the size I need because that size is for other people, not me, I am an overweight person who wears bigger sizes, it would be ridiculous to tryto put on a pair of jeans in that size ..

I'm still on 1mg, and I've started to stretch the time between jabs a bit. It's 10 days since the last one and I don't have food noise or more than normal hunger. I wonder if I should go down to 0.5 now and see how that goes over the next month?

Not sure what the point of this update is! Reading it back I sound like an idiot.

Well done and not an idiot , just someone who is rightly so proud of themselves .

8books · 27/07/2026 22:10

Well done @Instructions! We’ve had similar results 😊 I’m 17.5kg down since 28th December. BMI 22.

I’m still wearing jeans that are much too big because it’s such a great feeling 😂 I’ve bought lots of new summer clothes for my hols next week. Couldn’t be happier that winter me started MJ!

I’ve got another 3.5kg till goal. That would make my BMI 20.8. That’s as low as I should go. I’d ideally like my legs to be slimmer and tummy a bit flatter, but actually I’m happy now.

I accidentally took a full 10mg dose yesterday because I forgot to count the clicks for 7.5mg. I was sick last night and this afternoon 🤦🏼‍♀️

bec81 · 28/07/2026 11:48

I just had a consultation with the doctor. At 61.1kg down from 81.5kg, he wants me to start tapering, which im pretty happy with. Im on a 1mg prescription but as my weight was stuck and even ocassionally increasing, I have been taking 1.5mg every 10 days and ive lost almost 4kg in a month, which is too much too fast at this stage. Ill go back to 1mg for the next few weeks and then taper to .5mg. I dont really want to lose much more at this stage. Im 1kg off my target, which ill happily lose very slowly and just make sure to keep up the excercise

CatNoBag · 28/07/2026 12:31

Hi everyone, so good to hear your successes!

I'm still plateauing along, but slowly getting my head back into being super strict again. Despite taking 5mg and then 6.25mg for the last two weeks, I think the food noise effect isn't as strong as it was at the start on the lower dose. I find I could easily skip a meal and don't feel hungry, but my OH has to eat at mealtimes (his metabolism works at x100 to mine!), and that's what gets me eating. I think sticking to three meals a day isn't a bad thing, but I need to cut out the extra snacks that have snuck back in and ice cream for pudding because its summer. I had my 1 year post surgery check-up yesterday, and have been given the all clear with no need to follow up again unless I notice something is amiss, so that's good news (I had a slight concern about a cyst recurrence, but it's probably scar tissue from multiple ops).

@Instructions - I know what you mean, I also quite like the feeling of wearing something that's suddenly a bit too big for me. Even though I have about 30lbs left to go it makes me feel thin 😂. I saw my reflection in a shop window wearing running gear last week (lycra shorts and fitted vest that was a previous favourite but then got too small, but now fits again - yay!), and wasn't repulsed by what I saw. Previously I always thought I hid my weight well until I saw the photos / reflection and realised even my face was podgy, but now I see myself and realise I look at least half decent again!

8books · 28/07/2026 19:11

@CatNoBag I know exactly what you mean about not realising how you looked before! A photo keeps popping up of our summer holiday 4 years ago. I was 91kg and it looks like I ate a whole other person!! 🙈

Weigh in this morning. 63.2kg (9st 13lbs). Bloody delighted 🤩

Ralphiesaurus · 29/07/2026 08:45

Lost another 1.5lb last week… down to 11st 9lb.

SW 14st 12lb
CW 11 st 9lb
GW ?? Not sure!

I feel amazing but also, weirdly, slightly self conscious about having very obviously got back to a sensible weight… like anyone else’s opinion of my body should matter?! My Mum used to tut and shame me for gaining weight and then go on and ON if I managed to lose some… so it’s probably a relic from that

Am still technically overweight according to the BMI thing but I don’t want to lose much more at 56 as I think I might look a bit drawn and scrawny... Anyway. Good problem to have, right?!

Planning to go down to 5mg for my next pen and start trying to increase my food a wee bit. I’ve had such good suppression at times on 7.5mg that I’ve not been eating very much at all… and I wonder whether that might have contributed to weight loss stalling… anyway am focusing on protein and just actually can’t believe the relief of knowing when I finish this particular weight loss journey I don’t have to live in fear of bouncing right back to where I was. After SW a few years ago I maintained really well for two years with low carb… so I know I can do it even without MJ. But I do think I will probably stay on a low maintenance dose longer term if it helps…

MrTiddlesTheCat · 29/07/2026 11:40

1.1 kg loss for me this week. That's 30.7 kg lost so far

HollywoodTease · 29/07/2026 13:16

Small gain for me last week after a 4-day trip to Sweden with lots of eating out and wine, aargh. Only 0.3kg so not overly worried, it should come off again this week I hope.

In other news after 6 months of doing it by myself with the help of MJ I got a text from my GP offering me a place on their 12-week digital wellness and weigh loss course 🙄

It's in conjunction with our local council so I've signed up in the (probably vain) hope that it might give me free or discounted access to a couple of local leisure centres for gym/swimming....🤞

MinibusEmergency · 29/07/2026 18:14

Just stepping onto this thread to say well done everyone and to thank you for posting your progress. You’re all brilliant and it helps keep me motivated to hear so many success stories. I’m a few months behind you (April and 2 stone down so far) and hoping to hit my target around Christmas. Please keep posting your progress and especially re tapering and how you get on with maintenance as it’s so useful to be able to process what may be ahead. I can’t wait to wear jeans that are too big for me! or actually catch sight of myself in a shop window and not feel displeasure at the person staring back… You’re all an inspiration.

notcomfortable · 29/07/2026 20:37

Good evening everyone
Good to hear everyone is still getting on okay
I am still off the injections, not really got any spare money to get back on them. Food noise, cravings for sugar, feeling ravenous came back pretty much instantly.
Trying my best to block it out and still managing around 17k steps a day, plus protein shakes and water so hoping that is helping somewhat but I haven't weighed myself in months. I think I am too scared to

Weekly update from me.

Lost just over a pound this week while maintaining muscle mass. I'm increasing protein and weight lifting at the gym twice a week. I'm very happy with this level of loss.

SW: 17 st 10 lbs
CW: 12 st 10 lbs
GW: 11 st

That's a total of 5 stone loss now.

I'm still on 3.75mg and the suppression is good. It's at a level that I do get hungry and enjoy my food but I don't have any cravings.

Great hearing everyone's progress.

CatNoBag · 30/07/2026 12:51

@notcomfortable have you looked into the Wegovy tablets at all? I've stuck with the ridiculously expensive Juniper because the use DPD as a courier which is the most reliable where I live, their price for the tablets isn't enough of a saving to get me to switch just yet, but other places might be more reasonable if you'd just like to stay on a low dose for the food noise etc?

@Hettar - you've done so well! You're not far off my CW, but have lost at least double what I've lost (I did take my eye off the ball massively lately, slowly getting my head back into it, doing lots of running and walking but the gym roadblock is proving stubborn).

goldylock · 30/07/2026 22:21

I switched from MJ to WG end of April.

Am just about to inject 2.4 mg from second 2.4 mg pen.

Its much more affordable to me than MJ and means I can stay on it longer term. Find it a little more effective than MJ also.

I started at 14 stone. And now 12 stone 12. Goal would be 12 stone (5 7).

Big non scale victory is that a blood test done back in November 2025 indicated I had a problem with my thyroid. I had been getting sequential blood tests every 6 months for the last 1.5 years, resisting to go on thyroid medication (once you're on it, you can't come off), and results were getting worse, and the worst result being November 2025.

Got results of most recent blood test couple weeks ago, and thyroid results came back normal. Unreal.

Morning - it’s holiday day!! The main driver for starting MJ 😊 I’m so pleased I don’t have another fat summer!!

Love reading everyone’s updates. There have been some amazing transformations 👏

Weigh in this morning:

SW 81kg (12st 11lbs)
CW 62.6kg (9st 12lbs)
GW 60kg (9st 6lbs)
5’7”
BMI 21.7 (down from 28)

Usual jab day is Sunday but I did a 5mg jab this morning as I’m not taking MJ with me, so it will be 15 days till my next dose! Wish me luck in the US with all of the ultra processed dreadful, delicious food 🤣🤣🤣

Ralphiesaurus · 31/07/2026 08:19

Had a bit of a nightmare yesterday… (TMI alert - skip if squeamish!!)

I have IBS-C so going on MJ I was a bit worried about how to manage that as obvs it can make the C worse. Anyway I have found my balance and it’s been fine (down over 3st since January - yay!). I am away on holiday (UK) now though with my two daughters and have been eatings things I wouldn’t do normally. Anyway yesterday I had a really really bad IBS attack in the… ahem… D direction. Awful awful awful. I may have possibly picked up a bug from kiosk food maybe? Fish and chips on the sea front the other evening?

Anyway… thankfully I brought rehydration salts with me so was sipping on those last night. Have been really struggling to eat over the past four weeks and having to make myself prioritise protein. Suddenly dawned on me that my new slimmer body probably can’t cope with 7.5mg MJ. i was going to reduce soon anyway as I am getting closer to a healthy BMI… and I do need to start eating a wee bit more. It is lovely to be on holiday but I hadn’t realised how much I manage my condition usually with familiar foods etc, almost without thinking about it.

Apols for long and rambling screed!

Onbdy · 31/07/2026 09:40

Another half a pound for me this week, can’t complain after losing 3 pounds last week. 55 pounds in total now.

BeWildPearlFish · 31/07/2026 17:56

Checking in too.
Amazing updates from everyone!

Loss is slowing down here, I was up and down on scales this week but weighed this morning and 1lb off so im taking that as my weekly weight.

SW 13ST
CW 9st 12
GW no idea

I'm on 3.75mg and counting clicks from a 5mg, I lost count last week and took 5mg which strangely had no effect at all and I gained 2lb. So back to 3.75 as definitely more suppression

8books · 02/08/2026 20:00

Hello all! Checking in from holiday. I’m wearing short shorts and look nice in all the photos so far 😂 Such a fan of MJ. It really is revolutionary.

I never thought I’d wear shorts in public, but here I am with my fake tan legs looking svelte.

I’ve got 6lbs left to my goal and thinking I won’t need to be a high dose of MJ for much longer. Good job as my new 10mg pen (counting clicks for 7.5mg dose) that arrived last week is a new style and I’m annoyed they’ve taken away the golden dose!!

So I’ve got 60mg left across the pens in my fridge. Has anyone started moving back down the doses yet?

I’m thinking I could do x3 of 7.5mg, then x5 of 5mg and then down to 2.5mg. Any advice welcome 🙏

I’m thinking I’ll stay on 2.5mg (or 1.25mg) long term just to give myself some assurance that I’m not going to get fat again.

Ralphiesaurus · 03/08/2026 07:42

I agree, @8books , MJ is amazing. All these years for me of gaining and then losing and then desperately maintaining but the mental effort of judging and counting everything... and then... calm. Mental quiet. My body tells me clearly what to eat and when to stop. Yes definitely revolutionary.

I'm planning to start reducing my dose. I have been away for a week though so I'm not sure what the scales will say... planning to weigh when I get home and as long as I have maintained while away I will buy my next pen at 5mg. I've been finding the suppression quite strong at 7.5mg and even if I'm not sure of my weight right now my jeans are getting v loose!!

Like you I plan to stay on a maintenance dose but I'm not sure yet whether that will be 5mg or 2.5mg... it is just such a massive relief to know I don't have to battle my body/mind on this any more!!

BeWildPearlFish · 03/08/2026 20:15

My phone has just thrown up photo memories from August last year, and honestly looking at them makes me want to cry. I was so overweight and bloated. The thought of regaining is horrendous, hopefully when the time comes I'll find a maintenance that works and I can afford long term

Topsyturvey10 · 03/08/2026 20:38

I feel so despondent. My stats ate
SW 12.8
CW 11.4
GW 10.10
I started January and got down to 11.1 end April. I’ve pretty much just gown up and down any the same few lbs for months
and now put 4 back on.

I started on 2.5 and have only had one 5mg pen (on the second of these now) and its made no difference.

I don’t know whether the go up to 7.5?
anyone else been in a similar situation?

I do weights and a fair amount of exercise and steps.

What's changed ? Are you keeping a check on portion size , have a few treats crept in etc .
Take yourself back to when you were losing - what's different to now ?
Maybe write every single thing you eat over the next week and see if anything has changed including fluid intake ( drinking enough ) , exercise , sleeping etc .

bec81 · 03/08/2026 23:22

I went through similar last month. Lost and gained the same kilo for weeks. I eventually upped my dose, spreading it across 10 days rather than 7, and it has started coming off again. Im now on 1.5mg of wegovy and im losing well again.

HollywoodTease · 04/08/2026 09:29

Check in for week #29

SW 99.9kg
Next GW 75kg (25% of starting weight lost)
CW 77.15kg

So as of today I have lost 50lbs!

I've noticed since I went up to 7.5 my losses are a lot more staggered. I was losing fairly evenly on 5, just under or over a kg a week. I then plateaued for 3 weeks before I moved up. Now I lose a little bit (0.5kg or less) for 2 weeks followed by 1.5-2kg in the third week. Not sure if this is down to my summer festival habit as I'm only at home 1 weekend in 3 at the moment and that's the week I tend to lose!

Happily in my size 14 jeans now, although I am "between" bra sizes which is a pita. My 36HH are now on the smallest fitting but are riding up a bit at the back or my boobs are trying to escape under the wire. I got a 34HH which fastens on the biggest hooks but is uncomfortably tight and giving me lots of overhanging back-fat 🙁 Oh well, I guess if I keep plodding it will all come right in the end.....

FrothyCothy · 04/08/2026 19:33

I have lost the plot since May. Not put any on really but not lost anything to speak of. Though gym and steps have been non-existent as am currently glued to my desk for 10 hours a day! So have ordered 1.7 on WG for next week to see if that gets me mentally back on track. Just need to get through the summer and then try to hammer things from September to Christmas and see if I can get another couple of stone off.
