Ooh Jins, jealous of the pool, sounds amazing! Love the sound of the festival and kayak going through security 🤣
we were exactly the same with mobiles @PenelopePitstopPersists, ds 17 still not allowed it charging overnight in his bedroom. Great you’re managing to stay at the same weight.

@tinyemmylovely to hear from you, good luck getting back onto it, hopefully it works! High protein, lowish carbs seems the magic formula for me and highish fibre with lots of fresh veg and berries.

good luck with changing tutor groups @DGmaintaining and with the promotion!

we had a lovely weekend away visiting Lancaster uni ( ds decided not for him) and visiting all of my family in Goosnargh, Skipton and Bingley! Ate and drank too much ( I have started drinking alcohol again after avoiding for nearly a year, def less but too much this weekend). Jabbed 36 clicks from a 10mg pen today which I reckon is about 6mg? 4 weeks until we go away. Final interview on Friday 🤞🏻.

tinyemmy · 13/07/2026 21:07

Good luck with your final interview @26inprogressans thank you for the tips

I hope everything is ok @myladyjane

Enjoy the festival @Jins

I hope work went ok @BreezyPeer

BreezyPeer · 14/07/2026 07:53

Morning 🌅 losers and maintainers! Hope the weather is kind to you all today. I am sitting outside with a coffee
I jabbed yesterday 3 mg after 11 days. I had a bit of a binge on chocolate left over from a party yesterday and my weight has gone up again ( only 1/4of a pound) but I need to start going in the other direction. I am now a whole pound over my ‘top weight’
I am out for dinner tonight, at a friend’s for tea tomorrow and out again on Thursday so I will need to choose carefully!
Pilates last night so back on it in some ways.
@26inprogress a visit to Lancaster sounds lovely! I love a UK trip
4 weeks until holiday- are you looking forward to it? I’m always apprehensive before I go away but I always have a great time!
Good luck in your final interview.

Jins · 14/07/2026 08:11

I’ve done it again! I bought a box of dates because they looked delicious and as they were delicious I’ve eaten far too many. Now I’m completely bunged up and I’ve gained two pounds of inflammation overnight. I’ll never be able to control myself with dates. I’ve managed to cope with a few fruits on MJ after my 10+ year ban from my consultant I’m ok with nectarines, most berries and mango and can handle the very occasional pear but others wreak havoc with my innards.

We’ve just booked a single night at another small festival and camping is included. We’ve been before and don’t fancy the access with our caravan so we dug out one of our old tents yesterday and treated it with fabsil. I’m strangely quite excited about being in a tent again but one night will be enough. It’s a decent sized tent so I won’t be suffering too much.

It’s a bit cooler today so I’m going to try to get a few things sorted for the weekend and then spend a few hours in my sewing room

myladyjane · 14/07/2026 08:44

Oh Jins that sounds painful! What is it in the fruit that sets you off? Brave re tent - we occasionally camp and I love the theory but never the practice (I need a solitary loo if nothing else).

@26inprogress good luck with the interview.

thank you for the messages. I am feeling quite hmm about it all - I don’t want to stop cold turkey if I’m honest and may possibly take a bigger spaced lower dose. It’s 3 weeks until my blood tests and there is part of me that doesn’t want to ruin my mj experience if this is nothing to worry about iyswim.

I did read a couple of articles about the impact of heatwaves on the body and apparently you can lose big chunks of weight as well as gain them so maybe it’s a combination of gentle slow weight loss as I titrate down and water weight especially as it’s been whooshes over the last 2 weeks (whistling a bit in the dark here). I am pleased I am having it checked out though (the articles I read also explained a couple of the other ‘funny’ symptoms I have been having so who knows!

on the bright side my bmi is now 24 and a half and I’m in a size 10. 6 stone lost based upon this mornings weight. I definitely wouldn’t want to go lower though - I am a hobbit by nature not an elf and bits of me are definitely a bit scraggly (tits) whilst my generous thighs remain……

myladyjane · 14/07/2026 08:48

Oh and pear/hourglass ladies who struggle with jeans, my Abercrombie curve love jeans came from vinted and they fit really well. Length perfect, straight leg that look straight leg as they have a bit more room in the thigh and the extra hip room also helps on the lower mum tum. Rise is good as well - my flaps are un bothered. All in all, top marks!

Jins · 14/07/2026 09:25

@myladyjane it’s fibre generally and fructo-oligosaccharides especially. Dates are pretty high up the list (figs too) and one is pushing me right to the limit. So I’ve had 9 because I’m an idiot. It starts fermenting the minute I swallow it and I’m bloated, windy and sore. I need to eat clean for a few days so I’ve taken a bumped up dose rather than a lower one to help with that.

I’m a bit of a rebel when it comes to medical instructions and always run them past DH if they sound too much for me. So if I were you I’d space the doses so you’ve got a low level on board when you have the blood taken. Looking at Shotsy the dose I took yesterday won’t be out of my system until 17th August so even if you stopped now you won’t be clear of it in 3 weeks. My other query is whether it would show up anyway on blood tests? However my position is that I’m on this for life and this is my normal so we all might as well get a baseline. This is of course not something I would encourage anyone to do.

myladyjane · 14/07/2026 12:28

Oh but I get you and you have my sympathy. Fresh figs are my idea of heaven (most fruit is) so I wouldn’t be able to resist even if I knew it was bad for me.

The stopping the mj isn’t linked to the blood tests per se, that’s my bad wording. It’s more that the dr doesn’t want it to mask anything iyswim - she wants me to try to keep my weight static so eat ‘normally’.

Given I’ve been on the mj with no real issues for 18 months, if there is anything underlying I don’t think it’s got anything to do with the mj at all which is why I am dithering about a full stop.

After the blood tests it should be more obvious is there is an underlying cause. If it is diabetes (one thing being checked) I will be fuckin living to be honest - avoiding that was a huge reason for me to do mj but I have SUCH a strong family history of it and none of my family had weight issues but got it anyway. I remain hopeful it’s just weird heat related blips…..

BreezyPeer · 15/07/2026 07:01

Morning 🌅 losers and maintainers! I have put on another 1/4 lb so not in either camp today! I am going to get an early start on work in preparation for my new job starting in a couple of weeks. Can ch up later in the day, when I take a break, hope all is well xxx

Jins · 15/07/2026 09:20

Morning all. I’m feeling a bit better after managing to avoid eating any dates yesterday. Thank goodness for the positive side effects of MJ. I’ve now done a couple of weeks on Holy Basil Extract instead of Daridorexant and it’s almost as effective so I’ll be going into battle for extended off-label use with a decent alternative in my back pocket.

if anyone else uses ameliorate body lotion I found a bargain yesterday. My tube is almost empty and I wasn’t looking forward to paying full price so HERE it is for £15. They have the body wash as well. I can’t say it’s helping with the loose skin but it’s good stuff.

PenelopePitstopPersists · 15/07/2026 11:15

I use it @Jins, it is always on offer at Look Fantastic. Currently 500ml is £28.80 with a code and you get points to translate into vouchers. Lots of reviewers saying that the formula has changed and that they don't like the new smell - presume they mean the new branded bottles/tubes.

A couple of years ago they did a rose scented one which I loved, but it sort of went off after about six weeks and smelled like vomit.

Jins · 16/07/2026 06:57

That’s a good price @PenelopePitstopPersists. I’ve been working through a stash I bought on sale last year so hadn’t noticed there’s been a change in formula. The one that’s on the way won’t be fresh stock if it’s coming from approved food so I may be lucky.

DS1 continues to amp up my stress levels. He discovered he couldn’t wiggle the toes in his good foot yesterday so ended up back in A&E for tests. He’s still there, waiting on neurology tests with some reasonably worrying conditions on the table. Hopefully it will end up being a pinched nerve.

Festival tomorrow. Don’t feel like it anymore

BreezyPeer · 16/07/2026 08:56

@Jins i hope it’s good news on the toes and you manage to get to and enjoy the festival. It’s such a worry, when you are not sure what is going on for kids

On a completely different note, I am trying to complete my new thinner wardrobe with new shoes. I have bought two pairs of nice but fairly sensible leather pairs. Both have given me terrible blisters within a very short period of time. Any hints or tips? I wonder if the hot weather isn’t helping?

Good morning 🌅 losers and mainteners! Here’s to a happy Thursday!

myladyjane · 16/07/2026 17:10

@Jins I hope he’s ok

Jins · 16/07/2026 17:26

Thanks both! He’s back home and luckily they seem to have ruled the nasties out so it’s likely to be a trapped nerve. Poor thing is worn out after 24 hours in A&E

BreezyPeer · 17/07/2026 07:31

Morning! Losers and mainteners 🌅
finally back below 70kg or 11 st after the Rome holiday!
Pleased it’s Friday, got a dental appointment and a bit of teenager running around but apart from that I am on an admin day so hoping to get caught up!
Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Zempy · 17/07/2026 07:47

Checking in! Enjoying the heat still. Am looking after DS rescue cat and he is driving me nuts. He’s so full of energy but he can’t go out until after second dose of vaccinations. As he was so underweight it took me a while to get him fit for neutering, microchip and shots.

He is MENTAL but I am of course madly in love with him 😻

I am a bit constipated so haven’t weighed myself this week but I’m expecting to be around the usual 8:1 mark.

My crepey arms still annoy me but my throat is definitely very improved as are thighs. Nobody sees my stomach so I’m ignoring that! I just wear a tankini or swimsuit.

Day off today and meeting a friend for tea, cake and scandal. Then housework and pottering this weekend. In court in London all week next week which is going to be tough. Plus I am not sure how much smart lightweight black clothing I have available. I think I am going to have to spend some time properly planning my outfits.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

26inprogress · 17/07/2026 11:51

Tea, cake and scandal sounds amazing @Zempy🤣have fun!!

@BreezyPeeryay well done you, enjoy your admin day. Re shoes. It’s so hard atm, maybe your feet are swollen with the heat? Could you get some of those sock things that aren’t socks to help protect your feet, you know the ones that just cover the soles, toes and bottom of the heels of your feet and can’t be seen? I’m wearing flip flops and sandals so no help sorry.

@Jinsso glad DS is ok and that you’re feeling better too. Hope you have a fabulous time at the festival.

@HeidiLitehope Corsica is amazing.

Any news on GP appt @myladyjane? I have fingers crossed it’s just random
heat related.

Thanks for interview wishes, it was tough! Presentation which is what I was worried about was fine, it was just the questions afterwards which were very specific and challenging!! Oh well. Let’s see! I’ve also got a post op infection so not feeling 100%, on strong antibiotics…
In other news, I’m back to 10 st 7, yay! Would love to lose a few pounds before holiday so I don’t need to worry when I’m away.
I am so excited@BreezyPeer, I live for my holidays. We’re off to Brazil!!
have fab weekends all, hair cut and colour here tomorrow and a local village annual dance thing with live band which is always fab!!

myladyjane · 17/07/2026 14:51

Lots of lovely admin-y days here you organised lot. Am impressed.

@Jins phew! Have a smashing festival

@Zempy sales? I saw lots of linen suit stuff so if you needed to top up?

@26inprogress thanks for asking. Next step is blood tests in a few weeks. I actually regained this weeks whoosh (almost) so that makes me feel better. I am trying not to weigh every day so next check is next week. In the meantime I have decided to jab but not for a few days and a much lower dose. I should jab today but I am still feeling effects so perhaps Sunday.

bring in the weekend (although I think I will have to work - boooo

DGmaintaining · 18/07/2026 08:35

It’s the weekend! Happy Saturday all!

I’ve enjoyed having a lighter workload this week. I’ve not exercised enough, but I did manage 2 x 20min peloton bike sessions. Have the gym today so will make up for it then.
I manage to scrape the car quite badly with a misjudged parking manoeuvre last weekend, so am leaving the car at home today and getting some steps in. Will weigh and jab tomorrow. I ovulated yesterday, so thats the fun and joyful half of my cycle over 😂

DS2 has finished school for the holidays, and has resolved whatever friendship issues he had. He’s asked to stop the therapy sessions and he’s also asked to remain in the same tutor group so I think we’re over that little hump for now. He goes on holiday with a friend this August, so I’m glad he’s built his confidence back up as I was worried how he’d cope hanging out with another family for a week.

@26inprogress enjoy Brazil - can’t wait to hear all about it, that’s a bucket list destination!

@Zempy hope you had a lovely day off

@BreezyPeer well done for getting back under 70kg. If I remember, you’re completely off WLI right?

@myladyjane glad to hear the weight has stopped dropping further.
Probably for different reasons but I also remember my weight continuing to drop last summer below my lowest goal of 60kg. I had only really wanted to get to 62, but found myself hovering between 57 and 58 at the end of August having had a summer of ice-cream, cakes, cream scones and pub lunches. I continued to titrate down the doses and never got below 57kg, with my body settling at 58-59.
Started slowly gaining when I went down to 1.5mg and have resettled my weight while on 2.17mg. It’s settled at 59-60, but tbh I look better at this weight. I can eat intuitively and haven’t counted calories since last July.

In other news I’m being tested for the BRCA2 gene mutation. I’ve known for a couple of years that my dad is a carrier, but it’s only with the breast lump/cyst discovery earlier this year that I’ve decided to get tested myself, mainly for the DC’s sake. Had the GOSH call earlier this week, blimey it was thorough.

myladyjane · 18/07/2026 09:32

@DGmaintaining that’s actually reassuring thank you - I have calmed down a lot about it (almost feel a bit silly now but I do have a couple of other niggles too).

pleased that DG junior has settled and I hope he has an amazing holiday (and @26inprogress - Brazil will be immense!)

I know the gene testing isn’t an easy decision - I had a friend who had an awful family history of breast/ovarian bowel cancer and her sister got tested and was positive but she just didn’t want to (she had another life long serious condition and couldn’t face the ‘double whammy if you like). Her sister found it very helpful though - took some anxiety out of the situation. I hope it goes as well as it can for you.

i woke up with the most appalling hayfever and I don’t usually suffer. I also had the most horrific week at work so today I have a couple of chores to do then I am going to flop and read. Tomorrow I may run/swim/move.

Wtafmakeitstop · 18/07/2026 11:43

Sorry to hear about your car @DGmaintaining . I can see both arguments for genetic testing, generally I think I’d prefer to know.
Back from a trip and weight seems to have stayed the same which is good. My body seems to like 60kg although I’d still feel ‘safer’ at around 58 to give some leeway.

tinyemmy · 18/07/2026 11:54

@myladyjanesorry to hear about the hayfever. I work up with a horrendous headache that started yesterday which felt quite sinusy so I think also hayfever related. I squirted beconase and took some antihistamines along with paracetamol to hopefully make it go, I think I might need to take antihistamines for the whole summer not in and off like I've been doing so far...

@DGmaintaining I'm glad DS seems to be in the up. My eldest daughter stayed at a friend's (there were 6 of them) last night and didn't get any sleep, she even tried calling hubby at 2 but his phone was on do not disturb. I feel so sad for her, she looks like she has had no sleep at all and is now at her LAMDA exam. I just hope she doesn't totally flunk it and I'm so angry with her so called friends who apparently were shouting all night and refusing to turn off the light. In hindsight I should have said she couldn't go. Sorry to hear about the car... And fingers crossed with the test... A friend had the surgery a couple of years back due to the gene and a very strong family history

Enjoy your holiday @26inprogressI hope you feel better soon and congratulations on the weight loss!

Good luck outfit hunting @Zempy I have a lady coming over next week for a wardrobe audit. I was tempted to wait until I'd lost the weight again although it wasn't happening and I booked her in before deciding to go back on mj. Hopefully I don't regret it, we are going shopping next Friday and when I've lost the weight I will probably be another dress size down...

@BreezyPeerwell done on the weight loss

@Jinswhat an ordeal, I'm glad things aren't too bad!

I've done my second jab and first week on mj and I've averaged 1500 calories per day. I think first time round it was more like 1000, but I was also totally on it and desperate as I was another 2 stone heavier than I am now. I'm glad I made the decision to restart, I'm not sure what the long term holds, certainly I am not in a rush to get off them

Jins · 19/07/2026 09:21

I’m still at the festival and it’s going well. Perfect weather - I’ve even been paddleboarding! No news from DS1 which is a good sign. We’re building up for our last day and night and heading home tomorrow. Inevitably I forgot to pack the outfits that I made especially for this festival but I’m sure they’ll come in

I’ll join the hayfever club. It’s brutal this year.

cloudjumper · 19/07/2026 13:20

Ladies! I thought I'd lost you, I haven't been on here for so long - sorry for the radio silence, but life just took off, and I got snowed under... I will try to catch up, but I do hope you are all well and thriving!
I can't even remember the last update I posted, so here goes - I reached my (adjusted) target weight of 65 kg earlier this year and am now tapering down, very slowly. Considering dropping the dose down to 5 mg for the next pen, but feeling a bit apprehensive about it (letting go of my safety blanket!). However, my situation at work is currently so stressful that I am still losing weight (but not in a good way).

Life on maintenance is good (apart from the work situation). I feel healthy and energetic - we hiked up Mount Snowdon back in May, which would have been impossible for me a year ago! New lease of life and all that. I have lost my boobs, though, and my ar*e 😆The first one I can live with (although DH is quite sad about it, bless him), the second one I'm working on building up again with muscle, focussing on weight training. Bit more problematic/annoying is the hair loss/thinning - not sure if it's due to menopause or MJ. I'm treating with minoxidil, but not sure if it's really making a difference. Hey-ho.

Summer hols are now on us, and I feel quite stressed about it. Booking holiday clubs for DD, are trying to get DS motivated to do revision... His mock GCSEs did not go well, so he needs to to do something (but he's just got himself a girlfriend, so his motivation for anything else is non-existent 🙄). Work is mental, for all the wrong reasons - big deadline looming, workload is crazy, and I have been placed on a 'focus plan', which is basically the run-up to a formal PIP, it's just awful. I have never been in this situation, my confidence is shot to pieces, I am super-stressed, and I keep making stupid stupid mistakes. I always thought I was good at my job (never had a reason to believe I wasn't!!), but my boss doesn't agree. Problem is that their resource model is abysmal, I am being asked to deliver high-priority projects without adequate resource, and I'm being pulled in all directions. It's just shit. Not matter what I do, I can't get on the right foot...

I'm just hoping it'll be over soon, one way or another. I have started looking for new jobs again, I'm not sure I want to stay there, it just doesn't seem a good fit. I've always enjoyed my work, but now I find myself wishing for early retirement! Ugh.

On the positive side, my sister is coming to visit in a couple of weeks, so that's at least something to look forward to! And it gives us the kick in the bum to de-clutter the guest bedroom, so I'm off now flogging stuff off on Facebook (you always get takers when giving stuff away for free)! Let me know how you're all doing!
