Hi friends! Great to hear of everyone’s progress. Couple of NSVs from me, having just done Jab 8 yesterday (will weigh when I start the next pen):

  • the size 20 pleather trousers do up (but are not yet sufficiently comfy to wear especially as the popper fastener may well… pop off if I sit down) - I was nowhere near them a week or so ago.
  • wore a dress to an event yesterday and i used to wear it back-to-front as the back neck tie meant too high / uncomfy a neckline, and it fitted tightly, but now it fits loosely and I can wear it the right way round as the neck isn’t tight.
  • non-clothes - the super-annoying corner cupboard in my kitchen with the pull-out thingy, I never used to be able to bend over it and reach down to pick up stuck things because my tummy was too big. But now I can!
Doggymummar · 27/03/2026 20:16

Ahhh so oushk have now refused to prescribe saying I left too long between orders. The told
me in December it would be fine and I ordered early Feb. Today they are supposed to despatch and have said I need to go back to lowest dose. That are such fuckers, I don't think they realise how much this screws with people's mental health. I got mad and told them to stuff it and refund me so I guess I'm going it alone.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 27/03/2026 20:23

@TheZingyFishI also have someone like that and it's driving me nuts. I hate being randomly touched.

I used the stairs at the hospital today instead of the lift. First time ever!

NSV: I can stand and walk for hours and I even enjoy it!

  1. Last week I went to a trade fair. Walked to the train station, walked around at the fair for hours, only sat down for a meeting and once for a coffee break. Went sightseeing afterwards.Took the train back home. Thought about calling my husband to pick me up from the station. Decided I could walk home. I had walked 18000 steps that day and wasn't feeling tired.
  1. For a hospital appointment I couldn't find a parking spot so I kept on driving through the neighbouring streets - no parking spots. After a short while decided to drive a good few minutes back. I parked the car a 10 minute (1 km) walk away from the hospital. Took the stairs to the second floor. A man stood up for me as the waiting area was busy. I thanked him but declined his offer. So we both waited standing next to the only free seat. Walked the kilometer back to my car after the appointment. Still did my 30 minute daily walk afterwards.

I remember taking every opportunity to sit down before my weight loss of 35kg. And I see so many obese people sitting in awkward spots (a wall in front of the supermarket after shopping, in front of their house as their partner is getting the car out of the garage...) and I think: That would have been me last year!

Springflowers2 · 28/03/2026 07:04

@canaritini ..I used to have to sit down to peal potatoes.my hips would hurt to much to stand .
I still don't do enough walking by choice, but if I have to I can ,in fact I surprised myself how much walking I managed last week.perfer to swim for exercise

Springflowers2 · 28/03/2026 07:06

@Doggymummar hope you get sorted out somewhere x

Springflowers2 · 28/03/2026 07:10

@TragicMuse ..me to ..I can cross both legs and wrap the foot round it too ..it's fab ..I've got a thigh gap all the way up to the top now ..won't need shorts under my dresses this summer

Weigh day for me and a 0.7kg loss. Happy with that as I had a big drinking session on Saturday (although I didn't go as far over my calories as I thought I would - although I drank a lot I didn't eat much) and my losses are bound to slow down now - to keep up the big losses I would have to drop my calories below 1200 which I'm not comfortable with, so I'm going to stick there and accept the slow down. Might need to change to weighing in pounds though as it will seem like a bigger loss 🤣

Lobsterteapot · 28/03/2026 10:14

Hello all, hope everyone is well 👋

Ive now lost 7 and a half stone which has been absolutely life changing. I’ve decided on calling target at 8 stone which does still leave me overweight but I’m starting to look like a melted candle! I’ll be a size 16-18 down from 28. I’m tall so that helps.

I’ve decided not to have bariatric surgery now and the good news is (thought I’d share this in case it helps anyone) my diabetes nurse has confirmed that she will continue to prescribe 5ml on an ongoing maintenance basis. So after 18 months of work, changing all my habits I’ll be left on my blood pressure med and Mounjaro long term.

My blood pressure and blood sugar are perfect.

So it’s good that the NHS are thinking about the long term picture.

She also confirmed that they are offering Mounjaro for weight loss but in very limited circs. It’s being offered for 2 years only though. Considering obesity is now defined as a chronic disease it seems really short sighted. I guess there is only so much money but it seems wrong.

PearlsTeapot · 28/03/2026 10:27

Hi @Lobsterteapot well done on your massive loss! You must feel fantastic. What have been your biggest NSVs?

Good to know you can stay on it for maintenance, that's great.

TragicMuse · 28/03/2026 10:30

Morning losers!

I’m at my mum’s, having a lovely time and not losing focus. I did weigh myself on some v old spring scales this morning but as I didn’t have my glasses on I couldn’t actually see so that was a bit ridiculous! From what I could tell I’m around what I was last week so no damage done. But I’ve not found that being away has taken the brakes off anyway so that’s a relief!

I am enjoying those ‘what’s my size’ tools on clothes websites - I keep coming out as a 14! It’s such a boost!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 28/03/2026 10:39

NSV

I was looking at some tops on Amazon and it informed me that I'd bought a particular item before, two years ago.
I had a look at the order and I'd bought size XXL.

However, Amazon were now telling me that I should get a size S.

Even Amazon has decided that I've lost nearly 10st! It took them long enough.
🤣

@PearlsTeapot Hiya! And Hiya @TragicMuse good to see some faces from when I started on this journey ❤️

Top NSVs:

Peace! I was always binging/starving/starting a new regime or eating to the point of collapse. I honestly don’t give it that much headspace anymore. No more tears. I fill in nutricheck, I have 5 portions of fruit and veg and 100gms protein and that’s it.

Fitter and more bendy! I’m not a gym goer (did anyone else have the random notion that when they were “fixed” they would be some kind of marathon runner 😂) I can walk wherever, I don’t need to sit down all the time, I’m a lot less tired. I keep saying I’m going to go back to clubbercise but not managed it yet 😂 I LOVE being able to cross my legs it’s my favourite thing!

Dressing for me. Not for what covers me. I’ve worn a bikini, my clothes are more colourful, I curate outfits now. Thank goodness for Vinted or I’d have been bankrupt

What would you all say your NSVs are?

Lobsterteapot · 28/03/2026 10:41

Hiya @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne too ❤️

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 28/03/2026 10:46

Thank goodness for Vinted or I’d have been bankrupt

Yep. I even found four mugs on there, which I've been madly trying to source all over t'internet. They're not being manufactured anymore but Yay! Someone on Vinted had four.
They were brand new, too.

I have been foolishly delighted about those mugs for days now.

🤣

Hi all loving all the scale and NSVs! My NSV is changing the bedsheets in one swoop as opposed to it taking hours because I was so tired from it all.

Saw a new GP yesterday. She congratulated me on my weight loss and then began with "of course WLIs aren't a short term fix" and I thought oh here we go. This will be interesting. But what she added was that she thought that they were fantastic but I had to prepare myself for being on a maintenance dose for life, whatever that might look like for me. She said that my aim (not yet) should be finding a dose that I can stick with for my weight to remain stable. Seems simple but as I am on 15 mg and only just losing weight I am not sure how low I will actually be able to go. Not something I need to think about yet though.

Lobsterteapot · 28/03/2026 10:59

@Motnight Its good that the GP has recognised how brilliant they are and a need for a maintenance dose.
I saw a you tube vid mid week from a dr in the US who said that it’s about figuring out what’s right for the individual.
Some people will need them for life, some people might need a dose every now and then if their weight starts to rise and some will be able to come off them. He likened it to a chronic disease like eczema.

TheZingyFish · 28/03/2026 11:08

@Lobsterteapot I love that phrase, “dressing for me, not what covers me”

I have been trying to get my head around the changes in clothing and this sums it up. For the first time I’m choosing based on what I like and what might suit me rather than just trying to find anything that I can get into. It so difficult when there is a choice as I’m not used to it. The last time I used to think about how I’d want to dress and kept an eye on fashions I was in my 20s, but now I’m in my 50s so what I liked previously wouldn’t be suitable now. I’ve still a long way to go, currently a 22/24 down from 28 but just not automatically grabbing the relaxed fit in the biggest size possible is eye-opening.

I cannot wait to get to where I want my target to be so I can start to get to know a new me and decide on my new style.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 28/03/2026 11:25

Oh wow, yes.
I don't see it as a terrible struggle which will occupy my for a whole morning anymore.

It's a revelation to be able to change then in one go, and only be spending about ten minutes doing so.

Some statistics for all of you who are concerned about slow loss:

I've been looking at my diary for 2025.
I lost exactly two and a half stone in that year.

I worked it out as 0.67lb a week.

That's 2.8lb a month.

But look, it all adds up.

Also, since January this year, I've lost 12lb. That's about the same rate of loss.

Yes, it all adds up. Keep going, everyone.

Theringcycle · 28/03/2026 11:33

@Lobsterteapot thats great re your health management. Thanks for sharing re the ongoing dose for diabetes - I’m prescribed 5mg for the same reason, and the diabetes dr does seem to be approaching it as something I take long-term as part of my ongoing management and says I’m prescribed for diabetes and not weight-loss. I’m hoping I can stay on a dose long-term because even just 2 months in my fasting levels are vastly improved, my blood pressure is improving, my symptoms like thirst are hugely reduced (I have to make the effort to drink enough) my insulin-resistance darker neck is reducing. The dr said Mounjaro could be the missing piece of the jigsaw for me.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 28/03/2026 12:01

The Dr. said Mounjaro could be the missing piece of the jigsaw for me

Yes, indeed.
For all of us who have struggled with our weight for so many years, MJ has been the missing link.

It's endlessly fascinating to me.
I'm paying precisely no attention to the people who are sniping in the background, because I look and feel amazing.
