Let No.13 be lucky for all of us.

Good luck, losers.

All welcome!

Sorry I haven't kept up with everyone's news as life is a bit overwhelming right now. But I've still managed to drop another 0.5 kg. I'm pleased with that.

SW: 135 kg
CW: 112.4 kg
Total loss: 22.6 kg

Just thought I’d update about the DEXA body composition scan which I had today. I was quite scared my muscles had wasted away as you read so many scare stories on that topic, but actually it was all really good! My lean muscle mass is well above average for women my age, as is my bone density. Even my visceral fat was only slightly out of the ‘normal’ zone.

I'm going to use this to motivate me for the next phase as i am quite weary of it all after a year and the incessant side effects. Just need to keep going and get the fat down but even that was 7% lower than my smart scales tell me!

Janie934 · 06/05/2026 21:43

Can I just check my click counting is correct?

I have a 15mg MJ pen and want to take 10mg which I think will be 40 clicks. Is that right?

Despite being on MJ for nearly 2 years this will be the first time I've click counted. I had to skip last weeks dose due to an operation so want to work my way back up gradually.

Do you mind if I ask how much the Dexa scan cost?

£189 for the scan and then time to go through all the results and look at an action plan etc. not cheap but equally not far off a month of Mounjaro.

Although I’ll want to go back to see progress in 6 months now 🙈

Thanks, that's better than I'd thought!

@Janie934 10mg is two thirds of 15mg, so you need two thirds of 60 clicks, which is indeed 40 clicks.

@Janie934 my DEXA scan was free on the NHS.
My GP ordered it.

That’s interesting! Were any of the metrics inline/near enough with your smart scales? I use renpho scales and whilst I take the measurements with a pinch of salt, I hope the trend is consistently (in)correct.

GnomeDePlume · 07/05/2026 06:35

Weigh in and jab day

SW 140kg BMI 54.7
CW 89kg BMI 34.8
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

14 stone exactly, 8 stone down, 'only' another 4 stone to go.

Small NSV, I have started making a few tops for my upcoming holiday. I didnt want to splash out on too much new fabric and have been able to make two tops from leftover fabric I had. The pattern is one I bought a few years ago and I am now making the tops at the smallest size in that pattern. Two free tops - sewing room economics.

My actual weight was in line (they did that on scales first) but checking back, my smart scales give me about 6% more body fat and 6% less lean muscle mass than the composition scan. won’t know about the trend till next time!

GnomeDePlume · 07/05/2026 08:30

I forgot another NSV. I needed a new office chair for my sewing room. I am no longer too heavy for normal chairs so was able to get a cheap one.

TragicMuse · 07/05/2026 12:42

I’m working at a polling station today and I’ve been up since 4.30am. I’ll be here till about 10.30 this night. Sensible food choices have flown out of the window because it’s cold and I need fuel for my brain!

Do I care? No. No I do not!

Bought some convertible walking trousers from Mountain Warehouse as we are going on a summer walking holiday to Austria in July. They are a size 16, and fit perfectly. It occurs to me they may be too big by the time I actually go. I didn't really expect them to fit.

AlicesMum2025 · 07/05/2026 19:54

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 where did you get your DEXA scan done? I might have a little look online about it

I'd love to hear how your trip goes! I love camping and am desperate to start doing 2 or 3 days hikes. I've been on WLI for 12 weeks, and while I'm over 15kg down, I'm still in the same sized clothes. I want to start buying some good hiking clothes, but don't want to spend too much if/when I finally start dropping sizes!

Springflowers2 · 08/05/2026 13:36

Ugh ... should of just kept quiet ,in hindsight.
So have informed the provider of monjroro,I'm now taking methylphenidate.
Have informed the provider of methylphenidate I have been on monjroro for 18 months .
Provider of monjroro won't prescribe to me , without confirmation I am ok to have monjroro from prescriber of methylphenidate .
Prescriber of methylphenidate ,know I'm taking monjroro, have not told me not to take it or anything, just replied they are not prepared to say I am ok to stay on monjroro..
Fantastic

SilenceInside · 08/05/2026 13:46

@Springflowers2 if you apply to a new Mounjaro provider, and declare the methylphenidate up front then if they accept you then you should be ok from that point on. There aren't any interactions between methylphenidate and Mounjaro, other than the usual issue with any medication and Mounjaro slowing your digestion. Methylphenidate isn't on the list of medications with known interactions, so shouldn't exclude you when you fill out the online consultation form for a new provider.

It is odd that your current Mounjaro prescriber is asking for confirmation from the methylphenidate prescriber - they are the ones making the prescribing decision, and it should be up to them to decide rather than going on the say so of a different organisation. Another reason to bin your current Mounjaro prescriber!

Springflowers2 · 08/05/2026 13:56

I agree @SilenceInside
It's all a hassle I could do without
I've got 2/3 weeks left of monjroro..can't remember if this pen has a golden dose or not .
So it's ot desperate..yet

Springflowers2 · 08/05/2026 13:59

They want the ADHD meds prescriber to say it's ok for me to have monjroro.
Surely if there was a problem the ADHD meds people would actually say don't take both together..they just won't confirm it's ok .
But my doctor doesn't know I'm on ADHD meds ,as I'm still getting used to the dose and it's not been passed back to my doctor to take over the prescription yet

SilenceInside · 08/05/2026 14:03

I think the ADHD prescriber is correct not to write and say that they are ok with you taking Mounjaro, as they aren't prescribing it to you. Each prescriber should be making their own decision, based on the patient info that they have, and if they can't make a decision they should ask for more info from you or your NHS Summary Care record, or decide not to prescribe. Essentially they are putting the decision making onto someone else, which imo isn't appropriate.

At least the ADHD prescriber knows and is ok for you to carry on with the methylphenidate, and you should be able to sign up to a new Mounjaro prescriber without any issues.

Springflowers2 · 08/05/2026 14:09

So I had a further email from the ADHD prescriber ,saying they can not confirm or deny I am ok to continue with monjroro, because I am the patient and it's not appropriate,so I need to get my doctor to contact them with the request.
