Weight today is 15 10
But already I'm feeling I want to eat more ,just at the thought of coming of monjroro..

SilenceInside · 06/05/2026 11:49

@Springflowers2 Are the ADHD meds also a private prescription? I would have thought you can just contact them and explain that it was on oversight. Why would they stop the ADHD prescription?

PearlsTeapot · 06/05/2026 12:47

My best friend is on adhd meds and mounjaro. I’m sure you don’t need to come off them! I wouldn’t even bother telling them.

Billybingbong · 06/05/2026 12:50

@PearlsTeapot good to hear from you, I've been thinking of you. I hope you're doing ok 💕

I am loving all these NSV'S, far too many to single out, but they are all amazing.

I have a rather strange NSV of my own. I've suddenly realised I am no longer doing the bum shuffle to the edge of the sofa to hoist myself up. I can go from sitting down to standing up in one movement. No more struggling to grab hold of something, or launching myself forward to gain momentum. I can literally just...stand up. Simple as that 🤣

PearlsTeapot · 06/05/2026 12:50

Thanks everyone for the nice messages. I’m doing ok just incredibly bored. And very sad. Desperate to go home to DW and DS, not seeing them is just horrible. Thank goodness for FaceTime.

I’ve ordered McDonald’s for lunch. Just a medium chicken nuggets meal. I feel like a failure but compared to what I’d have ordered a year ago I can be kinder to myself.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 06/05/2026 12:57

@Springflowers2

You can take them together.

I wouldn't even bother mentioning it.

So carry on with the MJ!

@Billybingbong thats a good NSV!

I spend a lot of my time sat on my bedroom floor cos the bed hurts my back. Doing jigsaws and playing cards. And I can get up no problems, I used to have to get on my knees and pull myself up using furniture and now I just step up. It feels great every time.

No NHS .not private.
It just looks like I deliberately didn't mention the mj
So I didn't know how to put it right

Did she tell them

Really
I've been really stressed about not telling them ,
So coming of them ,and then going back on with permission seemed the best solution

SilenceInside · 06/05/2026 13:54

I don't think the NHS is going to be punitive or refuse you treatment because of an accidental omission @Springflowers2 . I would just contact the NHS service that prescribes for the ADHD and let them know that there was an unintentional omission in your list of medications and could they confirm that there is no interaction or issue that you need to be aware of as a result. If you frame it to them as just updating information, not asking permission or expecting there to be a problem, then they are likely just to get back to you and confirm that it's all ok.

Springflowers2 · 06/05/2026 13:56

I've already contacted the provider of mj and cancelled this morning..I don't know if they would take me back
Should of asked on here first ,don't know why I didn't really

SilenceInside · 06/05/2026 13:58

I think it's understandable that you were in a bit of a stress about this. I am sure it's all sortable though. Which provider are you with for your Mounjaro? You can always sign up with another provider.

Springflowers2 · 06/05/2026 14:16

I'm not sure what to do ..
I don't know if the current provider will now take me back .
Or if I'd be better sticking to my original plan of a month of and then starting at the beginning in two months time ..
Decisions decisions

I wouldn't risk your weight loss by reducing and then starting again unless you think that would be beneficial because it has stopped working. As long as you have evidence of a recent prescription you can order from any provider once you have confirmed with your ADHD provider that they are happy.

SilenceInside · 06/05/2026 14:34

I'm assuming you're with a subscription based supplier, like Juniper/Numan/Voy etc @Springflowers2 given that you've talked about cancelling? If you want to carry on with your current provider, you could just contact them and ask them to either ignore the cancel request or re-subscribe you, as long as they don't charge you extra for that!

Or, you could just order from another pharmacy, whenever you need your next pen, and not sign up to a subscription or anything.

I can't see any need or reason to stop for a month and then start again on the lowest dose.

Springflowers2 · 06/05/2026 14:40

Thanks for the advice.
Weight loss is very slow ..I've lost 11 stone already, more than I dreamed of at first .
And only a stone in the last 4 months.
I have heard of people taking a break and going back on it to restart weight loss .
I definitely went up the doses far to quick ,every month I moved to the next dose ,when actually I don't think 15 mg did much more for me than 10 mg .
I'm actually leaning towards a break and starting again after a month at the beginning.
That would kill two birds with one stone as I can then be honest that I'm taking ADHD meds .
How long does an open pen last ,if I start the month off from this week ??

If you are taking a month off completely then you would need to discard the pen I think. Officially they should only be open for 30 days, some people do stretch that a bit if they are happy with risk and keep it in the fridge, but presumably yours has already been open for a little while, then another month off, then starting from 2.5mg (so counting clicks if you were to use the same pen) would be too far over the limit for my liking if it were me.

@Springflowers2

Actually a stone off in four months is normal.
That's the rate of loss I got to by the end. It's just under a pound a week, which is fine.

However, to address your other point: I'm very lax about how long to use a pen, and I'd use it even if I'd taken a month's break. I know the guidance says not to, but I'm very cynical, and I think it's in the manufacturer's interests to say this.

Your other point about stopping and starting up again: as you're losing just under a pound a week, I'd stick with it.
You can't realistically expect to lose any faster, given how much you've lost already and the length of time you've been on it.

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 06/05/2026 16:10

Also @Springflowers2 you're likely to gain if you take two months off, so you'd be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Thanks everyone
Will give it some thought

Springflowers2 · 06/05/2026 18:32

I've emailed monjroro prescriber, and ADHD meds prescriber and explained situation.
So see what happens
If I can stay on both meds I will .
Fingers crossed it's ok

PearlsTeapot · 06/05/2026 18:44

Good luck I’m sure it’s fine. There’s no clash between the two. I wouldn’t take a break while you’re still losing a pound a week, after eleven stone I think that’s a good amount.

Thankyou .. sometimes ( a lot of times ) I make such a mess of things .once I realised my mistake I should of just emailed both companies instead of making a meal of it on here and getting myself in a state ..
How are you doing pearl..I do hope your getting nice food and fresh air ,and able to watch your favourite TV programmes
