I've started in February this year and am week 2 into 7.5mg. So far I have lost about 1 stone but it is slow going. What is everyone eating?

I use weightwatchers recipe cards for dinner and cook enough for lunch the next day. So all the meals are around 400-500 calories.

For breakfast I have either bluberries, greek yogurt and granola. Or crispbreads with a sliced boiled egg and caviar (sounds posh but here in sweden it's the equivalent of a dairylea triangle)

Midmorning I have a crispbread with a slice of cheese and cucumber or with philadelphia and jam (so it tastes like cheesecake).

Mid afternoon I have cottage cheese with some chopped nuts/dried fruit.

I only have the snacks if I'm hungry, but my dietician says to have at least one a day.

I've varied things a lot over the last 7-8 months, but currently I'm having a protein yogurt for breakfast, then for lunches I batch cook a frittata at the weekend that does 4 portions with around 25g protein each, which I have with salad, then dinner is some combination of plant-based protein, rice/potato/pasta and veg (stir fry/chilli/pasta and sauce). The only snack I have is a couple of frozen chocolate covered strawberries after dinner. That usually comes out as 1200ish calories and 75g protein.

Question time for those of you which are now at maintenance, did your hair thin during the weigh loss and if so now you're in maintenance is it starting to thicken back up?

My hair has always been thin but it's got worse during the process, just seeing if there is any hope of improvement again 😔

MrTiddlesTheCat · 24/03/2026 11:26

@MCR24I'm the opposite. I have an abundance of hair and it seems to be getting fluffier since I've been on mounjaro. I've had lots of people saying how great it looks. Except it isn't great, it's making me look like Rod Stewart.

You aren't allowed to post discount codes on Mumsnet, your post will be deleted.

Hi, I could do with some help. At the begnning of Feb, I was 23 stone, 3 pounds. I'’m now 20 stone, 9 pounds. I've done it through low carb and 16:8 timed eating. But I'm having a hard time. I'm 47, menopaused. Should I get some injections? Food noise there all day. I don't do any exercice.

That's a lot of weight in a short amount of time .
Personally,no ,I wouldn't of gone on injections if I could do it myself without help,as you clearly can .

IMissTheLittleBluePackets · 24/03/2026 12:02

Ah sorry @RenegadeKeeblerElf

First time I did this (when the injections first came out), we used to share our codes on here no problem.

I've just started again after having my daughter so I've been away from the threads. Didn't know it wasn't allowed.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 24/03/2026 12:19

Don't worry, I've just noticed that Mumsnet have taken down the warning about it which makes it more difficult. But they aren't meant to be shared publicly. If I were you I'd find a cheaper provider anyway - Numan can only offer those massive discounts because they are so expensive in the first place!

IMissTheLittleBluePackets · 24/03/2026 12:23

Thanks @RenegadeKeeblerElf Do you have any suggestions? It's a minefield out there 😱

I lost loads of hair about halfway into my journey, I started taking lots of supplements but the one that seemed to make the biggest difference was pumpkin seed oil capsules. After about a month of taking them my hair stopped falling out and new hair started growing. Of course that could just be coincidence and maybe it would’ve grown back naturally anyway but I’ve carried on taking them just in case! I’m 3 months into maintenance now and my hair is back to its usual thickness and I’m not losing any at all anymore.

I use medicine marketplace, they are consistently cheap compared to others and no referral codes or anything. Free delivery too, and quick turnaround, I’m really happy with the service.

SilenceInside · 24/03/2026 12:51

@MCR24 I had hair loss after about 3 months into taking Mounjaro. I shed what seemed like a lot for about 3 months, and then it stopped and the regrowth then started to become obvious. I am not in maintenance, quite, I'm still taking Mounjaro, and I'd say my hair is normal now. I didn't do anything or take anything, it just resolved on it's own.

I just check the list on monj.co.uk each month and choose the cheapest, they have all been pretty similar so far

Doggymummar · 24/03/2026 13:16

Depends on your BMI too, medicine marketplace wouldn't prescribe to me

UsernameShmusername2024 · 24/03/2026 13:28

@Tereseta I tend to eat fairly similarly most days.

Breakfast is usually some sort of protein yogurt (usually fat free greek yogurt like Fage) with fruit and nuts. Occasionally I'll have a slice of toast with peanut butter and sliced banana.

Dinner is often cottage cheese and crispy serrano ham on a slice of toast or eggs on toast. Sometimes a chicken salad. Will make a big batch of lentil and veg soup quite often and have that every day for a few days on the trot which is filling and nutritious. Might have fruit and/or a yogurt.

Tea is some sort of protein, veg and carbs - salmon with stir fry veg and egg fried rice; seabass or cod with green lentils with mixed veg; chicken and salad wraps; family meals like spag bol, chilli and rice, sausage and mash, etc. Will often have something sweet after or in the evening with a cuppa - a couple of rich tea biscuits or a kit kat etc.

I do definitely struggle to eat enough protein though and over the 13 months that I've been taking mounjaro the amount of carbs I'm eating has definitely crept up but I keep telling myself that carbs are not the enemy! Would love to hear what others are eating!

@MrTiddlesTheCat I'm really into cottage cheese at the moment - having it with chopped nuts is a revelation, am definitely trying that!

TragicMuse · 24/03/2026 14:10

I’m currently on around 1250 calories a day.

Breakfast often doesn’t really happen, I was having skyr and chia but have gone right off it. Plain yogurt is fine but I find myself unable to get through it. So it’s just easier to not.

I have a collagen coffee when I get to work.

Lunch is often some babybel, cherry tomatoes and rice cakes. Or just plain marmite rice cakes. Or a bit of soup or leftovers. Light, anyway.

And then later I cook supper for all of us. Pasta, rice, veg chilli, curry, it depends. Often vegetarian since Mr Muse is.

I’ve just started exploring OMAD so some days are nothing till supper - like today. It’s day-after-jab and I feel a bit nauseous anyway so it works to not eat today.

But mostly I play it by ear. I don’t eat a lot of bread, I weigh and track everything. And this week I’ve not lost a thing. In fact, I’ve gained. I’m not peri or pre-menstrual. It’s just a body being crap and inconsistent!

Infuriating!

PearlsTeapot · 24/03/2026 15:39

I eat around 1400 calories a day.

Breakfast- always protein yogurt or full fat greek yogurt with blueberries and honey. Yum. And a collagen coffee.

Lunch (on weekdays)- protein bagel with cottage cheese (Longley farm only) and ready made flavoured chicken (mango and lime this week). Weekends we tend to eat out at cafes and I'll have a jacket, a salad, a panini, that sort of thing.

Dinner- we have Gousto boxes and meals up to 650 calories. Lots of rice and noodle based dishes.

Snacks - protein water, muller corner yogurt, prunes.

Fffreeeeezing · 24/03/2026 16:03

@Tereseta I’m on 1600cals per day and I tend to only eat 2 meals a day.

Breakfast (although I regularly eat it at lunchtime) is always protein yoghurt with chia and collagen, with fruit and a sprinkle of granola

Dinner is usually chicken or salmon with rice or sweet potato and veg/salad and often cottage cheese (because I like it so much) followed by either a muller protein mousse or a chocolate bar of some sort.

Both meals are heavily protein focused as I aim for 140g a day, I do a lot of strength training so this is important for me. I also attempt to keep carbs low ish and to make sure I get some fats in if I can, usually via avocados and oils.

I’ve gone off a lot of foods in the last year, coleslaw, pizza, mayonnaise and most bread. And there’s a few foods I’ve developed a bit of a weird obsession with. Cottage cheese, sautéed spinach with lemon and garlic, air fried peppers, anchovies. Caesar salad was on that list but I must have overdone that as I’ve gone right off it now 🤷‍♀️

I started at the end of January this year and have only just lost the first stone. I've only just gone up to 5mg though so I don't know if it would have been more if I'd gone up earlier. I'm a bit disappointed though, I did expect to lose more over almost 2 months. On every other diet I've done in the past (and I've probably done them all at some time or other) I've always lost much more weight over the same time periods.

PearlsTeapot · 24/03/2026 17:51

@CatAtTheWindow try not to compare to other times. This is you settling in for the long haul and some people don’t lose weight til they get up the higher doses.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/03/2026 17:53

@CatAtTheWindow losing a stone in 6 - 7 weeks is very good.

I eat around 1500 calories a day and on a 'bad' day I go up to 1700/1800.

I have the same sort of food every day for breakfast I have a poached egg bagel thin

Lunch is chicken/veg/rice or tuna baked potato with veg

Tea is chicken/rice/veg or chicken/veg/noodles or sometimes something like chilli and rice.

Im trying not to go lower than 1500 as I still really have 3/4 stone to lose and the thought of going lower fills me with dread. Im currently on 10mg and ive never really had appetite suppression.

Also anyone not aimed for a healthy BMI? I was 20.7 stone, now weighing 13.11 stone. Healthy for me is 10.1. I'd be really happy just in the 10's so even 3 stone away but am I being silly should I be aiming for the 10.1?

CatAtTheWindow · 24/03/2026 21:39

Thank you @PearlsTeapot and @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

I know you are right but I just find it strange. Having been on so many diets I sort of got used to the same thing happening each time, that is losing a lot of weight at the beginning. But it's the fact that I know I'm in this for the long haul that is stopping me from throwing the towel in (again, done that many times).

PearlsTeapot · 24/03/2026 21:44

We’ve all been there @CatAtTheWindow don’t worry. That’s why this thread is so great, because it’s full of women who get it and are proof that mounjaro works and is different from all the other times.

I suppose I can count myself now as one who shows that! I’ve been on it since May and lost just over 4 stone, so I’m a slower loser than most. But that’s fine by me because I also lost nearly 3 stone on my own and I was miserable, life on mounjaro is so much easier and more pleasant.
