Oh @Billybingbong! Oh look at you! You look brilliant! And what a wonderful list of achievements.

I love our little community, our cheerleading, our support and hand-holding. And I’m so damn proud of all of us.

I’ll be doing my wi tomorrow but it’s been an ok week. I currently have 10mg in the fridge and am doing a 5 day regime which only works for time with the buffer 5th dose. Once we start getting the pens without the buffer I’ll have to have a think about what I do next. I might go up to 12mg but it’s SO much more expensive and I can’t switch pharmacies easily because loads rejected me with my thyroid issues.

Ah well. No point borrowing trouble, I’ll deal with it in the future!

In the meantime, my utterly divine husband has bought me an insane amount of my favourite kinds of sweets for Easter! Hence the Candy Kittens last night. I do need some self-control. I really do! Part of me is thinking I could put them all in a jar and just portion them out. And a much larger part of me is thinking WINE GUMS. EAT THEM. EAT THEM ALL.

I bloody love a wine gum. By ‘a’ I mean a packet. Obvs.

Happy Easter losers! Have the best weekend you can, given all circs and parameters.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 03/04/2026 12:22

@Springflowers2 I'm very sorry to hear you're so stressed at the moment.

I hope things start to improve for you soon. I'm another one who just can't eat when I'm distressed.

You say you've dropped 7lb. Well, maybe it won't all go back on when you start eating again.

@Billybingbong your post made me so happy! I can relate to all you said so I’m thrilled for you. And the proof is in the pudding, look at those pics!! Amazing well done to you.

@Springflowers2 sorry you’re having a tough time at the moment.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 03/04/2026 12:29

Hello!

I've caught up with this thread but missed the second half of the other thread. The last few weeks of term for me have been really chaotic and my longest time not posting/reading mumsnet ever I think!! Truly exhausting. I have "come up for air" of sorts over Easter though.

It's so lovely to hear everyones progress. @Billybingbong amazing pictures - and I can so relate to life just being so unbelievably different this far on. I keep having moments where I catch myself - ie walking across a hospital and to the car from a hospital appointment I can "just do" now without thinking and used to be a Big Deal. Certainly although work is stressful I couldn't physically have done this role before and I'm so aware how different I come across now.

SW - 21stone 11
CW - 12stone 6 (BMI 28.1)
GW - 11st (Bmi 24.9999) (Although would like to go lower this is the Big One)

I'm taking 8.3mg currently and have for months. Weight loss is slower but still around a pound a week on average. I thought about increasing as I'd love it faster and I know those starting at my weight would go faster but I feel I'm eating a healthy amount of food - not worrying about the odd chocolate egg etc so its probably good to do it this way.

PERIODS - this is my big query at the moment. Mine stopped end October (save for a brown smear once) and I am clearly peri. I was going to look into HRT but I had thought Id wait until my weight stabilised. I really don't know what is likely true periods stopping and what's just huge weight loss/ etc or if mounjaro/adhd meds are affecting it!

CLOTHES - I so don't know what I like. I work outside the home but have worn leggings and seasalt dresses and a nice cardigan for years and years. Its weird thinking about not wearing the legging and what length dress works... but get this..

I have a size 14 new look dress and the white stuff size 14 one from vinted fits!

I am not a size 14 by any stretch around my middle by measurements but with size 14 cycling shorts to hold me in (I feel all baggy in my skin other wise after wearing leggings for literally years) it all kind of works. I am completely stunned.

My stomach is still disproportionate so still not at trousers/jeans stage but I can see it coming and I am so so looking forwards to it :)

Love this group and seeing everyone's updates and being around people who "get it". I read a "bmi 25 and mj" thread last night and shouldn't have .... for us this is truly lifechanging isn't it.

Doggymummar · 03/04/2026 12:31

I can't believe how much different a stone makes when at the smaller end of our journey compared to the beginning - I didn't really need new clothes those first 5 months and then I think it was a few months before I brought again and where I wear seasalt dresses and leggings it was all fluid anyway.

But since end Jan I've lost a stone and its made quite a difference clothes wise.

I am a bit short on funds but have realised i could go into a shop now and try things on. I might aim for a shopping trip end of May.

This is truly lifechanging on so many levels isn't it.

Huge hugs to anyone finding things difficult at the moment x

TheZingyFish · 03/04/2026 13:14

@Billybingbong Congratukations! You’re such an inspiration and I love the photos! You’ve really kept me going this last year in the difficult moments as you’re a few days ahead of me and so a sign to stay on track.

Is so exciting to think what the future holds, it is almost like being given a second chance at life. My weigh in for my 1 year is on Monday so will report in, hoping for the magic 100!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 03/04/2026 13:21

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden I remember when I was doing Slimming World the leader used to constantly trot out the '10 lbs is a dress size' line until I pointed out that while 10lbs may be the difference between an 8 and a 10, it is very definitely not the difference between a 22 and a 24! If it was, I would be in negative dress sizes before I get to goal!

PearlsTeapot · 03/04/2026 13:26

Hahah, 10lb a dress size is funny 🤣

Hi @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden been wondering where you’ve been!

@eibbed999 enjoy your trip away

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 03/04/2026 13:39

Ha yes 10lb a dress size..... I think it was around 4stone for me at the beginning... .. Although I was wearing dresses probably too small and my dresses that size could cover several sizes.

I've brought cycling shorts from yours to wear under longer dresses and realised today it would be possible to wear with a long t shirt and not look round like I used to. This is insane.

Its like I went into crazy work stress for a term and emerged noticing my shape had changed again.

My stomach is still disproportionate and it's crazy hating it when it was so much bigger. But in tighter cycling shorts it feels "heldnin"!

I also have very very saggy skin. If I could afford surgery at the end of this I'd so do it but we can't afford lots of day to day things and are supposed to be saving for a car, never mind cost of the jabs long term... So I need to get used to it!

Oh and ahem sex... Much reduced in my world last few years to be almost non existant... Tricky for other reasons but realised how much more mobile I am in er so many ways and how much less space I take up... 😳.

You say you've dropped 7lb. Well, maybe it won't all go back on when you start eating again.

Thankyou ,I'm literally loosing a pound a day ,so not sustainable and as soon as I'm back to normal it will definitely go back on ,it always does.
So glad march is over with.. organising youngest sons GCSEs ..he's at a special school And lea were being difficult about him sitting any exams ..plus I've got my ADHD asessment this coming week..so once that's over with ,I will be ok

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 03/04/2026 14:19

Gosh @Springflowers2 lots of love.

When is your assessmwn? Ihad my assessments just over a year ago and it's all been life changing but I was similarly so nervous beforehand. Who are you with? They really do know their stuff and guide you through it.

My eldest (autistic) had gcses last year and the stress was so high in this house. I really feel for you.

You are losing significant weight though. Are you eating at all? Is there something you could get in like a drink or more of a yoghurt or desert or soemthing you fancy at all?

You need to fuel yourself even if it's to "take care of others... ".

Would telling us more about it all help?

I've had a salad sandwich today ,so I'm not going to starve .
I put all my weight on just living of crisps,
the crunch and the salt .😜
.but I gave them up nearly two years a go ..
I don't really like much except crisps and I'm not eating them ,
so I do have to make a huge effort to get all food groups in ,
and when you don't really enjoy what you eat ..and then stress hits .
.it's just to difficult to make myself anything decent to eat ...or I have a few bites and leave it
So this does tend to happen a bit ,so I know when i go back to making an effort with meals weight will go back on ..it won't stay as a loss ,it never does.
But I'm used to this now ..
Son is at special school , sitting 6 GCSEs and LEA being difficult about paying for them ..I had exactly the same with my eldest boy ..both have autism..LEA wanted eldest to do gardening skills instead of GCSEs ..major stress then ,but 10 years ago ..I thought things had moved on in a more positive way ..but apparently not ..same stress 10 years later but different child and different school.
It's been one long month of fighting for his rights ..but we got there ,he's sitting them ,and rightly so ...
But it shouldn't be like this ,it's not fair .
And then my ADHD asessment
I was on a waiting list for 3 and a half years , patiently waiting,as I'm not good at pushing myself forward...but I thought..this is a long time now ,i will ring my doctor to find out where I am in the que .
Receptionist phones me back ... apparently the company I was with for aessment shut down over a year ago ,and no one thought to tell me ..
So I had to start from scratch, with all the forms , getting relatives to help again ,and go back to square one waiting.
And now it's My turn this week.
But yes I'm very nervous and that's putting me of eating much as well .
But by the middle of next week I will be back to complaining I can't loose weight and it's all gone back on .🤣🤣

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and @PearlsTeapot - just been for lunch in the pub that was Lovejoy's local, which was oddly exciting!

Sending you love @Springflowers2, that sounds like a perfect storm of stress. And @Billybingbong you look fantastic!

Billybingbong · 03/04/2026 17:44

Thanks everyone for your lovely words, you're such a fab crew 💕. Lots of comments about the difference in my jawline & neck. I wish I had the balls to show my whole face, as that is where the difference shows most of all. My face has changed completely. It was very round and bloated before, and I had no neck to speak of. Now I have cheekbones, my eyes look bigger, and I have a defined jawline. Yes, my neck is crepey, and lines have appeared on my forehead, but I call them my battlescars, not wrinkles 🥰

@Missingducks I love the idea of some new jewellery. I might drop a few hints to DH, you never know, he might oblige 🤣

@TragicMuse I've never heard of Candy Kittens, but they do sound yummy. Enjoy x

@Springflowers2 I'm so sorry you are going through a hard time at the moment. I have 2 adopted children who both had behavioural issues at schools, and the oldest has various special needs. I still go cold when I think of the grief we had in their school years fighting to get the help and support they needed (and deserved!). It's 5 years now since the youngest left school, and it makes me sad, and quite angry, to hear that nothing much seems to have improved.

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden nice to 'see' you, so true about the clothes sizes. The first few stones don't really make a lot of difference, but I am dropping sizes much quicker now. I started at size 26/28, hovered around 20/22 for ages, and am suddenly a comfortable size 16. Like you, I am struggling to find my style though, I literally have no clue what suits my shape, size or age.

@TheZingyFish thank you lovely. I really couldn't have got this far without you and this wonderful army of flag wavers. I am so happy I found this thread and my people. I can't wait to see your post on Monday, and have no doubt whatsoever that you will get the magic 100 xx

@eibbed999 I hope you're having a fantastic time. The break will probably do you the world of good, and get you back on the mindset when you are ready to start jabbing again x

Have a great long weekend everyone, whatever your plans. Holiday season has kicked in here, so we're just heading down to the beach with the dogs, and will spend the next six months moaning about having to share it with the crowds 🤣

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 03/04/2026 18:31

I whizzed down the sizes once I got down to a size 16.

I've also discovered that even losing half a stone at this stage is very noticeable to other people, and to me.

I weigh 10st 5lb now. I tried on three pairs of jeans today which I'd set aside a while ago, as too small. They were too small when I weighed 10st 12lb, but they fit me today, now that I've lost that last 7lb.

When I think back to my size 26 days, losing 7lb would not have made the slightest bit of difference to my shape.

2 stone didn't make a difference then!

We've all said it, and it's true - when we're significantly overweight, we have to lose about 6 stone before it's noticeable.

Oh you are really going through it @Springflowers2
I'm so sorry. I understand all too well about the struggle to get our autistic children the help they deserve.

I'll wait until the middle of next week to see if you regain the weight.
Let's hope not.

We're away for the weekend, I've eaten so much today! Will make up for it tomorrow I suppose!

@Springflowers2 I hope things get easier for you soon.

I go either way with eating when I'm stressed I either don't eat or eat everything in sight.

Yep you're very right. I gained 2lb one day and my jeans wouldn't go up. Now there's no elastane in anything clothes are very unforgiving

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 03/04/2026 20:12

@Billybingbong your pictures are amazing, what a difference! Happy jabversary to you as well.

I’ve got my eldest kids home from uni so this weekend may be a challenge food wise but this is how life goes I guess and I’ll get back on it. Been feeling quite fatigued of late which is a recurrent issue for me, so I need to get back on the exercise. Hope the weather cheers up!

@Springflowers2 have you tried roasted chickpeas or split peas as a healthier alternative to crisps?

I get the Brave Mega Mix and Brave Crunchy Peas in either salt and vinegar or ready salted and they are really nice (they do lots of other flavours but I'm not too adventurous with crisps and things).

They are fairly low calorie and plenty of protein so they make a nice snack.

PearlsTeapot · 03/04/2026 20:51

With so many people hitting 100lb it’s made me realise how much slower my mj journey has been. I’ve done 40 weeks and lost 4 stone and 4 pounds.

I had lost just under 3 stone by myself before I started mj though. But it makes me envious of those who’ve lost 7 stone in a year! Maybe mine was slower because I was already losing weight in a calorie deficit?

Just pondering really. I’d like to hit 5 stone on my 1 year anniversary, I’m averaging a pound a week so it’s achievable (if I stop eating everything in sight!).

Billybingbong · 03/04/2026 21:34

@PearlsTeapot I lost my first 3st really quickly, and it slowed down loads after around 12 weeks, so I have actually only lost 4st 2lb in the last 40 weeks. So it may seem like your journey is slower, but actually we are on a similar trajectory, it's just that you managed to lose the first 3st without MJ. Don't do yourself dirty, you are doing amazing 💕
