@Springflowers2 I saw a farmers market tshirt in Next and thought the same thing, I don't want food pictures on me, I just don't get it!
As for tops that don't meet in the middle and are just joined with bows, they can also do one, I refuse to believe anyone wouldn't look good in this stuff!

Oh yes I saw a few of those tops with gaps and bows holding it together too ,all in the sale ,so clearly people are not buying them

TragicMuse · 31/03/2026 11:46

Tomatoes are the big thing on T-shirts at the moment, apparently. I don’t mind a lemon print, but I draw the line at some shonky tomato print and a bit of badly designed Italian wording chucked about. Saying ‘Pomodoro’ doesn’t make it coolly European and sophisticated.

You know what ,I'm struggling to , everything seems to have food on it ,
I do not want to walk around at 50 wearing t shirts with bloody fruit ,or peppers or the words farmers market on them
Or lobsters ..it's just rediculous..who is buying tops with lemons ,oranges and blueberries on them ..these are plus size shops .. simply be ,and yours ,and the curve range in ASOS ..all food .. bizarre

Funny that. Have bought recently a lemons dress and a sardines dress. I love them they look very Mediterranean and remind me summer si coming.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 31/03/2026 12:07

There seems to be a lot of items with 'embellishment', bows, frills, appliqué, embroidery, slogans; none of that is for me.

Honestly, I agree.
But at least on Vinted you can just scroll past things like that, and pay a fraction of the shop prices.

I have asked my provider about maintenance. I’m not there yet but I want to be prepared and if they don’t do it at all I’ll need to move providers before I’m in range of my target.

Newmummy343 · 31/03/2026 12:40

Funny you guys going on about clothes im really struggling to find things i like. All frills and patterns and whats with the crop tops! I just want a normal top!

TragicMuse · 31/03/2026 12:49

what does your normal top look like in your mind@Newmummy343

I’m shifting so many clothes and I’m struggling to find nice skirts! But the problem is I don’t know what style I want! Just that I’ll know it when I see it!

You know what i don't even know anymore i'm struggling so much and hating everything i'm trying on. I'm going on holiday on 16th of May, I last went on holiday back in September. I'll be 3/4 stone down since September and I swear I felt more confident than I do now. I feel so fat even though Im down to the 13 stones.

Billybingbong · 31/03/2026 13:04

I'm struggling with clothes at the moment. My shape has changed so much, I have literally no clue what suits me. And I was 25 years younger when I was last this size, so that doesn't help either. What suited me in my late 20s wouldn't look good now I'm in my 50's! Plus I'm not at goal yet, so dont want to be spending on things that only last me a couple of months. Vinted is great, but I still have no clue what to look for. But saying all that, it is a nice problem to have 😊

Fffreeeeezing · 31/03/2026 13:39

I am dreading summer, my staple work outfits are dresses with black tights and boots and whatever I wore last summer was falling off me then so they've gone to big clothes heaven.

I am so not ready to bare my legs, they are easily my worst body part by a mile (with my arms in second place which look lovely and toned, until I lift them up and the loose skin hangs like bat wings 🫣)

I think these are considered first world problems but hey, I find it really stressful having both nothing in the wardrobe to actually wear and then not knowing what to buy anyway!

PearlsTeapot · 31/03/2026 13:43

I’m having the opposite. I’m so excited that the clothes I like I can finally fit in that I’ve been going crazy on vinted! I love scamp and dude, Lucy and yak, sugarhill Brighton. Bright coloured clothes are my thing.

I mean I guess they must be selling because there were lots of them around last year to.
You would probably think everything I ordered in the sale from new look was very boring, all plain ,and no summer colours 😂
I still don't like to stand out and pick very dull / boring colours

I live in Brighton where you have to try very hard to stand out, and I do every day !

SilenceInside · 31/03/2026 14:49

I'm taking the chance to wear what I wanted to when I was in my younger years even though I am rapidly approach my half century. I also feel like I am back in my 20s and 30s now too. My clothes choices skew towards goth, dark academia type vibes so I am enjoying things from places like Disturbia, Hell Bunny, EMP and lots of "vintage" Vinted stuff, although to me I don't think of the 90s or 2000s as vintage!

My younger sister lives in Brighton.

She loves all the wonderful places to eat.

It's such a long way from where I live in Argyll, though.

In our village, we get excited once a week when the pizza delivery been comes our way. You have to pre-order them and everyone says they're amazing.

I don't actually like pizza....... but hey! We've got a very good curry house and a chip shop.

Some of what I’m wearing from the under-the-bed haul is stuff I have had for 30 years and more! I don’t intend to wear minis or boob-tubes - not that I ever did! - but I’m not entirely ruling things out just because I’m older.

I’m 61, and I will be wearing denim cut-downs this summer. And vest/cami tops.

I just wear things I like, and that I like on me, using my own judgement…age be damned!

Do you know, I'm the same.
I'm nearly 70 and I do not like those wide trousers, not on anyone.
I tried a pair on and they looked silly on me - I can't explain why.
I like skinny jeans and jumpers.

I also prefer plain colours and not patterned stuff. I've got a couple of knitted dresses which look good on me now that I'm a size 8 - 10.

So I have managed to convince oushk I am not some maniac who is hellbent on making myself sick and they have posted my 1.7 pen. I will switch next month tho as I think they were less than fair in how they have treated many people

We only moved here in December after being away for a decade and with me on mj, or wegovy now and my partner being Arfid we really can't make the most of that aspect. But we are really enjoying doing up the house and I had a job interview last week which I am optimistic about, if I get a job we can try to do a bit more.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 31/03/2026 18:07

New NSV - my fitness age on Garmin is now (give or take a couple of months) the same as my actual age! Next step, dropping below my actual age 🥰

I'm probably going to be going to Brighton for the day at some point over the holidays so my daughter can take some photos for her A level exam - I'll look out for funky print dresses and wonder if it's @Doggymummar 🤣

MCR24 · 31/03/2026 21:08

@SilenceInside that's the sort of clothing I would like too but I don't know what sizes to try and even on vinted most disturbia etc is still quite expensive if I get it wrong. I wish everything else hadn't got so expensive!

SilenceInside · 31/03/2026 21:23

@MCR24 I spend a lot of time reading the reviews for things that I like on Disturbia and looking at any reviews that have images so I can try to gauge the fit. I’m annoyingly between sizes at the minute so it depends a lot on the specific style and fit. I tend to err on the side of the smaller size, as I’m still losing weight (just about) and if they are a tight fit then I’d hope they’d fit better in a few weeks and I’d get more wear out of them.

I’ve just ordered a pair of dungarees from Hell Bunny which I’m really not sure about the fit of. I think I’ve chosen the right size, but they are selling out quick so if I’m wrong there might not be the size I want available if I need to return them.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 31/03/2026 21:38

Why am I such a basket case around food? I went to the cinema with my family this evening and had no difficulty refusing movie snacks. It was late so DH suggested a quick McDonalds for tea. I had a chicken wrap that comes in just under 500 cals, so around what our normal evening meal would be. But all the way home my mood has been so low and I feel so ashamed.

We did the same a few days ago and I'm now terrified of my weigh in tomorrow. I'm convinced I've ruined it and tomorrow will be a disaster. Why am I feeling the shame of having binged when I've only had 1 chicken wrap instead of dinner on 2 occasions?

And I have my mammogram tomorrow too. So no sleep for me tonight.
