hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

@MoneyJo I have just reordered my 2nd pen and stayed on 2.5. It’s working for me currently so I will see how the next pen goes. Would rather go up slowly if I can. My next jab is Weds and last week I saw a slight reduction in suppression on Tuesday so had to use willpower which I guess is no bad thing!

MoneyJo · 16/03/2026 09:28

Thanks @Beehivebabe I don't want to commit to another month on 2.5 if I stop feeling the effects but I think I would rather go up slowly too.

Beehivebabe · 16/03/2026 12:16

@MoneyJo I agree with you. It’s annoying that my provider has made me reorder today which is 2 days before my 3rd jab. So it’s too early for me to know if I need to increase really! I guess in case of delivery delays. But it should be clearer by next time. I’m losing well so I’m happy atm.

LostTheGoodScissors · 16/03/2026 14:50

Week 1 on Wegovy is done, and I’ve lost 8 pounds. I know a good portion of that will be water weight, but I’m still really happy with the result.
So far, Wegovy seems to work well for me. I haven’t had any side effects, and I’ve managed to stick to my diet 100%. I still get hungry, but it somehow feels much easier to make the right choices.
It almost makes me wonder if this is how naturally thin people feel all the time. I could still eat a big piece of chocolate and enjoy it just as much, but that constant urge to overeat just isn’t there anymore.

I think that is exactly it. Like yes a bit of chocolate would be nice right now but actually I'm fine not to have it.

illsendansostotheworld · 16/03/2026 17:46

I picked up my very first pen today - excited and v nervous in equal measures to get jabbing!

Greycatclub · 17/03/2026 07:34

We’ve just bought some very fancy new scales. Not sure if I’m loving all the extra data about my health or hating it 😂

HolyMoly24 · 17/03/2026 09:10

@Greycatclub which ones have you got? I really want to buy one that tells me my body fat (or maybe I’d rather not know!)

Week 2 weigh in yesterday and lost 4lbs. So that’s 11lbs in 2 weeks which is crazy but I expect it will drastically slow down now.

I have been exhausted the last week. A previous poster said it feels like pregnancy tiredness and I completely agree. I have been falling asleep on the sofa, in my daughter’s bed after I’ve read to her etc. Really hope I get over this side effect soon as I have literally missed dinner a few times because I’ve been asleep!

Greycatclub · 17/03/2026 10:42

@HolyMoly24 we’ve got the Withings Body Comp ones, there is SO much data!!

Behealthy2026 · 17/03/2026 19:49

Yes agree it does feel like pregnancy tiredness.

has any researched getting the golden dose? I don't want to get a syringe but someone say you can use the pen but turn it extra hard.

OP posts:
Greycatclub · 17/03/2026 20:22

I’ve read about it, but wont be doing it for fear of getting it wrong and messing it up.

HolyMoly24 · 17/03/2026 20:37

@Behealthy2026 give heard mixed things about turning the pen, the inner mechanism can break when you do this although I guess there’s no harm in trying.

how many mg even is the ‘golden dose’?

Behealthy2026 · 17/03/2026 20:38

@HolyMoly24a whole dose

Don't we get a new pen, for the second and future months?

Jumping in mid month. Had first jab last week. I tried it for 4 months a few years ago and it really didn't do much for me but I was expecting magic as thats the way everyone described it at the time.

This time around I'm ready with myfitnesspal and calorie counting and hoping I can make some real progress. Have noticed a more disinterest in food, and haven't had the urge to have seconds and thirds at dinner so that's a good sign. Took the jab friday and thought yesterday it was beginning to wear off but today was another good day.

Food noise is funny - I don't have thoughts of sneaking off to eat snacks, and dinner was 2 hours late to the table by mistake, but do find I'm focusing a lot on food still: what I'm going to eat today, tomorrow, etc Like hyper meal planning. But part of that is just focusing on making sure I keep protein and fiber intake up. and drinking lots and lots of tea and water

I started the same as you - feeling ok have definitely eaten better and not reached for chocolate so that's good - although Mothers Day had a lot of chocolate gifts!!
I am finding the not going to the toilet as often quite hard - I am eating prunes/high fibre stuff - is there anything anyone recommends to sort this? Am sure I would weigh less if I was going regularly!

MoneyJo · 18/03/2026 08:02

What's everyone thinking now for their second order? I think I will stay on 2.5 for another month and then see as it has worked well so far. Will probably shop around though.

rockstarshoes · 18/03/2026 08:05

Hello everyone jumping in as I’m taking my first jab of MJ this morning!
feeling very nervous but also excited to get started & shift this weight!
You all sound like you’re doing well so far!

Thejukeboxgal · 18/03/2026 08:45

Hi, jumping on to join you. I’m not new to MJ or trying to lose weight by other means . Been here in various guises over the last few years. I tried MJ last year for about 3 months and lost 2st. So I know it can work 🙏🏻 I stopped taking it around the time of the price hike and when I had had a couple of bouts of very unpleasant vomiting. Over the winter I have regained a stone so now feels like the right time to have another go and hopefully keep going as I would love to shift around 5st but 3st as a minimum.
Wishing everyone the best with this. Hopefully I can bring a little of my past experience to the thread.

Lambzig · 18/03/2026 09:45

Hello. Joining in as I took my first dose last night and have been googling side effects and when it starts working. I would like to lose 15kg, but 10kg would be pretty good.

I had a hip replacement last year and have been going to the gym lifting weights since then and am a lot stronger, but the weight has not shifted. My main meals are quite healthy, lots of protein, low carb, lots of veg. However my downfall is definitely snacking - on the two days I work from home it's constant. So I am hoping that this will really help with that.

It sounds like there is some great progress and lots of experience here.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 18/03/2026 10:55

I am also wondering about what to do for next jab. Third one this evening. No side effects (touch wood!) and I am slowly losing (prob 1kg this week), which feels sustainable as I am in it for the long haul. Not sure I have the magical amount of suppression people talk about. Definitely much easier to avoid snacking, but am defo still eating (and thinking about eating) but a bit less. So rational me says stay low, lose slowly and work on my issues. But exciting me says ramp up, lose a bit more quickly, have the magical ”internet” level of suppression.

Whatever I do I’ll stick with Boots for now as can pick up in store before I jab and avoid refrigeration - I am a secret jabber.

Beehivebabe · 18/03/2026 11:09

Hi all, jab 3 for me today, 11lbs loss in 2 weeks. Really pleased! No obvious side effects, apart from being tired in the evenings and going to bed earlier. Experts do say that good sleep helps haha! I’ve got my 2nd pen already and stuck with 2.5. I’ll see how the next few weeks goes to see if I need to go up to 5.

ShebaQueen · 18/03/2026 13:00

Hello to new joiners!
I'm due to weigh and take my 4th jab tomorrow. I reordered 2.5 as I had awful side effects in week 1, but have been feeling better since, and have been losing each week, which has encouraged me to keep going. Ironically if my supplier hadn't contacted me in week 2 about ordering another pen, I might have moved up to 5, but it seemed very early to make that decision.
The gorgeous weather today is making me think about hopefully fitting into smaller clothes and sweating less this summer!

Hi, I started and stoped relatively quickly last year, so this is my second time round.

I did manage to get the golden dose by forcing the pen last time. It was very hard and I didn't think it was going to work, using a tea towel and force once it had pushed passed the block, I was able to use the pen in the exact same way as previous injections.

I would have a new pen on hand in case it breaks ( won't turn after forcing etc) but it worked for me

ThatMerryFox · 18/03/2026 21:56

So, I finally after having my pen sitting in the fridge for 2 weeks, I just did the 1st jab. I've been so nervous about doing it. My main worries are side effects. I'm currently sitting here waiting for something to happen lol. @ShebaQueen you mentioned bad side effects in week one. What were they exactly? And how soon did you start feeling better?
