Thank you all.
@MoneyJo Good luck for your weigh in.

@ShebaQueen Sorry about your hair loss, I’ve been taking supplements but whether they will help who knows. I read an article which said it is only temporary, a reaction to quick weight loss. And will grow back. But doesn’t help in the short term. Have you tried pumpkin seed oil capsules?
@Annex I have some weeks where I don’t lose, and I actually think it happens on weeks when I don’t eat enough weirdly. Keep on though as it will kick in again.
@taratill Interesting article, i agree that it depends on your mindset as well and whether you slip back into old habits. I can see me being on them for life at this point, perhaps using occasionally to keep on top of it. I mean that’s a long way off for me, I’ll likely be on them on for a year at least anyway.

ShebaQueen · 12/06/2026 10:27

Thanks for that article @taratill, it does make sense, and yes @Beehivebabe re hair loss, I believe it's linked to weight loss rather than the drug itself. I haven't been losing very quickly - 14kg since 27th Feb. and I'd hoped that slow progress plus plenty of protein might protect my hair. Fingers crossed and I might try some supplements

Dontlletmedownbruce · 12/06/2026 16:49

Congrats everyone on your successes!

I'm trying to focus on the non scale victories. Yesterday I noticed when I stand feet shoulder width apart, only the top of my thighs are touching. It used to be all the way up from the knee. I now have little protruding lumps of fat on my inner upper thighs that are rather ugly but it's better than two big massive lumpy legs! I still have big thighs but the circumference is definitely much smaller. It's a wonderful feeling. I was getting disillusioned for a while there.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 12/06/2026 16:49

Please share any other non scale victories for motivation!

MoneyJo · 12/06/2026 18:57

My NSV today is that I saw my DS for the first time in a few weeks and he noticed I had lost weight!
Bit disappointed to only lose 1lb this week. I had the golden dose of pen 3 just now and have a whole other 5mg pen for the next 4 weeks but I am leaning towards going up to 7.5 after that.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 12/06/2026 19:04

That's lovely he noticed @MoneyJo

That's lovely he noticed @MoneyJo

It really was. He's not known for his great observational skills 😀

taratill · 13/06/2026 12:30

Hope you're all having a good weekend?

I went to the theatre last night and saw Kenneth Brannagh in the Tempest, ended up having a 3 course dinner before and I chose light starters and main but managed to eat all of it, plus a rhubarb and custard pudding. I've paid for it this morning with some gastro issues! I think I've definitely lost suppression on 3.75 because I ate everything.

I also went for a curry earlier this week because it was DDs choice for a birthday meal so I expect weight will STS tomorrow , which is my official weigh in. I was 300g above my lowest recorded weight this morning.

Must Do Better!

@Dontlletmedownbruce, the thigh gap is something I aspire too. I'm not sure I ever had one even at my thinnest (8 stone). NSV for me is that my jeggins are flapping at the thighs (how sexy!) and a more serious one is that I have a lovely velvet jacket that just fits better with jeans.

@MoneyJo that's lovely that your son noticed. I'm seeing my son for the first time in over a month this week. I wonder if he'll notice.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 13/06/2026 12:40

Epic day today as weighed in at 99.9 kg. Double digits! So happy. I’ve lost 15.5kg so far. It’s really slowed down so have ordered 5 pen and will give 3.75 a go. But just delighted. And the sun is shining. No one has noticed. The teens are amused at my midlife crisis exercise binge and DH has been trained to say nice things, but it would be nice for someone to notice. It’s not going to get me down though as I am grinning like a maniac.

@taratill Very jealous of you seeing Tempest - I have been perma-refreshing the webpage for returns and time is running out. Hope you enjoyed it!

What an achievement! Well done! No wonder you're delighted!

Bloody teens, my daughter turned 17 this week and I'm convinced I am invisible to her!

I'm sure people will have noticed but are too polite to say anything,

The Tempest was great, I was also desperate to see it and was late to the party. I saw Brannagh as Hamlet at the RSC in 1992 when I was 17, and really wanted to see his return. I missed the initial ticket sale too and it was, at first, sold out but I managed to snag some restricted view (to the side of the stage) which were fine. Actually better view of facial expressions from front on further back. I'm also booked to see the Cherry Orchard at the Swan in August too. I hope you can get some returns, have you phoned them to ask about a wait list? Might be a long shot but maybe worth a go?

MoneyJo · 13/06/2026 14:26

I hope he not only notices but also comments @taratill
Also jealous of the Tempest with KB!

At my weekly jab day weigh in yesterday I had only lost 1lb but another one down today which takes me to ...
TWO STONE DOWN SINCE STARTING MJ!

MoneyJo · 13/06/2026 14:46

Ooh and NSV - I was size 20 at the start of MJ. I've gone down to an 18 in trousers but still 20 on top. I decided to order the next size down in each on vinted just to use as a marker in the hope that one day I would fit into both. Anyway I ordered some 16 trousers that I already have in 18, and a 18 top similar to one I have in 20. The trousers go on ok but too tight to fasten yet. However the top actually fits!

ShebaQueen · 13/06/2026 14:47

Congrats @SmallTreeDeepRoots no-one has noticed my weight loss either, but I am still beaming, just like you, what a feeling!

Congrats to you too @MoneyJo, a milestone for sure! I think you said you'd lost some weight before starting Mounjaro didn't you? What's your overall total weightloss?

@taratill STS will do, there's always next week! That is another positive thing about Mounjaro, before the jabs I would have given up if I had a week where I gained or even didn't lose!

MoneyJo · 13/06/2026 14:49

Well remembered @ShebaQueen ! I had lost 1stone 5 before so 3 stone 5 now. So pleased with it all, but I do still have another 5 stone 5 to lose for me to have a healthy BMI.

By the way, what does STS mean? I can't think.

ShebaQueen · 13/06/2026 15:03

Absolutely amazing @MoneyJo, what an achievement! STS = stay the same. Not sure if it's an official abbreviation on here, but have seen lots of people use it

D'oh thanks - I should have been able to work that one out!

taratill · 13/06/2026 15:26

That's amazing @MoneyJo, I can't wait to hit 2 stone off, it will feel like a milestone!

My DS is a typical 20 year old male. I'd put good money on him not noticing!

taratill · 13/06/2026 15:31

@ShebaQueen I know, right?

Definitely not put off keeping going.

I am, however, put off 3 course meals and specifically rich puddings. I am definitely paying for it today unfortunately.

taratill · 13/06/2026 15:34

@MoneyJo yeh STS is stay the same, I saw it on another thread and am fundamentally lazy so thought i'd use it.

Beehivebabe · 14/06/2026 08:23

Morning all! The sun has finally returned 🤗

@SmallTreeDeepRoots amazing! What an achievement. Also @MoneyJo well done! You’ve lost loads overall. Nice to feel the change in sizes!

@taratill I feel your pain today, had friends over yesterday and I made a lasagne, salad and all the trimmings plus a lemon dessert with raspberries and cream. Also had a couple of cocktails. Loved it all! In hindsight this morning it was too rich and too much for my stomach. Lesson learnt!! Today is chicken and veg keeping it plain.

Previously I too would have thought I’d sabotaged and I’ll start the diet again another week. Or not haha.

Also, I haven’t seen these friends in ages and they didn’t notice I’ve lost weight, surely someone other than my family can see it!! It’s interesting you have all had the same experience but it can feel a bit disheartening.

taratill · 14/06/2026 09:40

So I don't know what on earth is going on with my scales! Seriously odd but having assumed I'd STS I've actually lost 1.98 pounds since last Sunday.

Sunday is my official weigh in day but I jump on the scales every morning before I have a coffee and yesterday I was almost 2lb heavier! How can that have disappeared in 24 hours??

Glad it's sunny where you are @Beehivebabe your lunch sounds lovely, I think for this to be sustainable long term we have to be allowed the occasional lapse. It's weird with people not noticing. I'll bet they do really, it's just not the done thing to comment on weight.

Had news that FIL is currently in emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction so today we are just waiting to hear how that goes. Fingers crossed.

Beehivebabe · 14/06/2026 10:00

@taratill. Thank you and good about your loss, that has happened to me too dropping lbs overnight. Very weird.
Sending positive vibes for your FIL. Hope the op goes well x

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 14/06/2026 11:03

@Beehivebabe Sometimes I want people to notice and say nice things, but sometimes maybe I don’t want to have a discussion about how fat I have been. I expect I will sulk regardless. I want to have my high-protein low-carb cake AND eat it. But still, I would like to have my efforts acknowledged. Be nice to have someone visibly do a double take as I glide svelte-ly into the room.

But we are all doing so well and we will all get there - feels like this thread is full of supportive people getting shit done.

@taratill I weigh every day too and the ups and downs are a mystery. I jab Weds night and my lowest weight is nearly always Sat morning. The rest is noise but I like to catch a slide up before it becomes a pattern. I think a lot is water weight, inflammation, not having been to the toilet properly (I am going every 2-3 days atm and clearly it weighs something!). When I get a big increase, I think back to what I ate/did the previous day and it’s often a day with not enough water, or more unhelpful food choices than usual (eating out, being a guest somewhere, a long drive without a packed lunch etc). But sometimes it’s just a mystery!

taratill · 15/06/2026 21:03

So FIL news is that he survived the op but needs another one which he is currently too unwell to face. DS has gone to stay with his mother for a few days.

Jab day for me today and my, new style, pen failed. It only gave me 20 clicks and there definitely should have been 45. I tried forcing it like I did with the golden dose with the old style but it didn't work. Luckily I had new pen in the fridge so could complete the dose but I am really not impressed.

I'm not sure whether to try to syringe remaining liquid out next week. Has anyone done that? Or should I contact provider to complain about faulty pen. It's gone back in the fridge while i decide.

taratill · 17/06/2026 13:06

Everyone's being really quiet on here. How's it going? I feel quite a lot of suppression this week, I'm almost second guessing whether I've miscalculated the clicks and dosed higher than 3.75.

Does anyone know if there should be any liquid left after the last dose on the new style pens?
