@taratill thank you, my sw was 19st 13lb so I would expect to lose well in the first months as I have completely changed my eating habits. I was both a snacker and a big dinner finisher lol. I have no doubt it will slow down.
Re exercise I am walking everyday and doing small exercises at home, I don’t yet feel able to join a class or gym (actually don’t think I would join a gym tbh!). I was thinking of getting one of those walking plate things but I’m over the weight limit atm!

I have no idea what a walking plate is, is it the same as a treadmill?

Well done on changing eating habits. I reckon that is the hardest bit.

Strange question, but does anyone think Mounjaro has helped with their driving confidence? I used to drive a lot and be perfectly confident on motorways etc. I then began to notice as I got older how much less confident I felt in busy traffic.

I’ve just come back from holiday, and really felt much more relaxed again with driving. Wondering if it might be some freak effect of MJ (people do talk about brain fog reduction), or if I’m just imagining things?

I lost 2lb this week, which is a lot for me. I am over the moon about it. I have 2lb to lose to get to the next stone bracket and 4lb for my BMI to be under 25.

My progress has been slow but I am starting to notice it when I look in the mirror and I feel like I’m making progress.

Hi, does anyone have advice on alcoholic drinks? I'm not talking about a big night on the piss just the ability to have two. I usually go for G&T cos it's lowest calories and wine always makes me want more. But lately I can't stomach gin, the smell makes me nauseous. I had a glass of wine recently and I got really acidy. Something thicker like Baileys appealed more but it's high in calories, that said better one higher calorie drink than 4 of something else that ultimately adds up to more. I have a few events coming up and I enjoy a drink occasionally, I don't want to feel it's a life pleasure I have to fully sacrifice.

rockstarshoes · 21/05/2026 07:15

I can’t advise on drinks Dont as I seem to be able drink anything - just have to be careful as I get a really bad hangover!
Reporting a none scale victory! I took the label off & wore a pair of trousers this week! They have been in & out of the wardrobe since before Covid but I never quite lost enough weight to wear them! Well they fit me now! Get in!

taratill · 21/05/2026 08:50

@Junmaro I can't say I've noticed anything with the driving but I do generally feel a little bit calmer. Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

@Darkspiderplant well done on your loss. I am definitely going slow although this week I seem to have lost about 4 lbs which is random. I've still got another 11lbs to lose to see the back of the obese category.

@Dontlletmedownbruce I'm not struggling with alcohol either sadly so I don't have any particular advise. I'd just go with what you fancy and enjoy your night out.

@rockstarshoes , great nsv, bet you feel great for that. My clothes are definitely a little looser but I don't think I'm down a size yet.

Beehivebabe · 21/05/2026 09:35

@taratill yes like a treadmill but a smaller cheaper version! Could just do laps round the house I suppose haha.
Well done on your loss this week.

Ive lost another 3lbs this week so thats 35lb down. At the moment i am wearing a variety of sizes 24 (very loose), 22 and 20 just shows how different clothes come up!

@Dontlletmedownbruce Sorry I can’t help with alcohol. I’m not a big drinker anyway and I struggled with what to drink on holiday, especially when you’re with drinkers. Vodka and slimline tonic might work?

@Junmaro. Possibly the weight loss has made you feel more confident and good about yourself and this has translated into other things? All good stuff!

taratill · 21/05/2026 09:46

@Beehivebabe

OMG I have been known to do laps. Last year I did a few months of 15,000 steps. I drove everyone in the house mad, including the dogs with my laps!

I wasn't fit enough to walk outside but could cope inside.

I did eventually buy a walking pad/ small treadmill thing but we've just had a major house renovation and I've mislaid its remote control and I don't think it will work without it. I'm sorting through boxes now so I'm hoping it will turn up or I can get a replacement.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 21/05/2026 10:24

Jab 12 last night and it’s going ok. Had a stall, but refocused on the basics and back on track. Also shaved my legs which probably lost me a kg or 2! It’s definitely harder at the moment, but I have a lot to lose so don’t want to race up the doses. Next pen is 2.5, but will probably increase for my next order and click to 3.75. Not sure how much effect exercise has, but I’m enjoying it and I can’t eat in the middle of an exercise class or while staggering around the park so it’s cutting my intake!

Beehivebabe · 21/05/2026 16:23

@taratill haha good luck and let me know how you get on!!

@rockstarshoes sorry meant to say earlier, well done on fitting in your trousers!! I threw all my older smaller stuff out as I thought I’m never seeing that size again haha. Going to be expensive getting smaller I feel 😅

Dontlletmedownbruce · 22/05/2026 00:03

Well done everyone. Enjoy the non scales victories. That's what keeps me going. I got my first 'have you lost weight?' this week. Still not down a full size but some clothes fit differently. I've lost some on my bust which I'm delighted with. I pulled out a raincoat the other day that zipped up again. We are getting there.. still a tough battle though...

MoneyJo · 22/05/2026 06:40

That's very satisfying @Dontlletmedownbruce
Someone did tell me my face looks slimmer yesterday so I'll take that!

taratill · 22/05/2026 10:32

@SmallTreeDeepRoots I've got loads to lose too, I'm going to be doing this for the foreseeable. I've got my legs out this morning and have ex-foliated and slapped on a bit of fake tan, I'm so fair skinned that my legs would startle people otherwise (and not in a good way!) My shorts are a little bit baggy around the waist, I've lost around 4 inches there so need to invest in a belt.

@Beehivebabe no luck so far with the remote control, I'm going to send a prayer to Saint Anthony that it turns up! Luckily for the dogs 1 & a half stone less of weight to lug around plus the miraculous impact that MJ has had on me and acid reflux means that I no longer need to be confined to pacing around the house! Although the heat might be a factor over the next few days.

@Dontlletmedownbruce and @MoneyJo my DH who I didn't tell at first says he can see it in my face. The cups of my bras are also looser so I must be also losing it there. I don't think it's noticeable to anyone else yet. I'm hoping the kitchen roll effect is true and people will notice more later.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!

taratill · 22/05/2026 10:33

Out of interest what dose is everyone on at the moment?

ShebaQueen · 22/05/2026 11:06

I'm on 5mg, but only jabbing every 9 days, I'm thinking that maybe I should have stuck to 2.5mg as I appear to be really sensitive to it. Was considering taking 2.5mg from a 5mg pen, but am concerned about massively exceeding the recommended time limit for using the pen - has anyone done that without a problem? With the 5mg every 9 days I'm already exceeding it (I've never used the golden dose)

taratill · 22/05/2026 11:16

I'm taking 3.75 from a 5 mg pen so will exceed the 30 days too. I think as long as it's kept in the fridge it can be used beyond 30 days? When you say sensitive @ShebaQueen do you mean fast weight loss or SE?

I'm definitely finding 3.75 more effective than 2.5 and I want to stay on a low dose as long as possible as I'm in this for the long haul.

ShebaQueen · 22/05/2026 11:31

Ah sorry I didn't make it clear, I mean side effects @taratill, I'm happy with my weight loss, it's not fast, but it's steady and I'm 11.5kg down since 27 February. After 8 weeks on 2.5mg I seemed to be tolerating it quite well, despite a few rough weeks at the start, but going up to 5 has brought the SEs back, although mostly only for 2-3 days after I've jabbed, so that's why I decided to extend to 9 days, might even go to 10 as I have no sense of it wearing off, but I've seen others say that they can feel the hunger coming back around day 6.
Thanks for the reassurance about exceeding 30 days, it does seem that lots of people are microdosing without a problem.

Beehivebabe · 22/05/2026 12:37

@taratill I took my first 5 last weekend, prior to that I was taking 3.75 out of the 5 pen. I felt like hunger etc had returned so decided to increase but I don’t plan to increase again for a long while if I can.

I was really sick the day after I took the 5 altho I did think it was a dodgy fresh soup I’d had. Who knows!

MoneyJo · 22/05/2026 16:47

@taratill I'm on 5mg and have another 3 weeks of this pen (still got a golden dose) then I've already got my next pen of 5mg (no golden dose) but after that I might go up to 7.5mg.

MoneyJo · 23/05/2026 11:04

Down another pound today. That's 1stone 9 since I started in March and 3 stone down since March 25 when I cut as much sugar as I could. Very pleased with that.

ShebaQueen · 23/05/2026 11:59

Excellent result @MoneyJo! So impressed also that you managed to lose so much without the jab!

Beehivebabe · 23/05/2026 12:10

@MoneyJo well done!

MoneyJo · 23/05/2026 13:25

Thank you both.

@ShebaQueen I lost 1stone9 by cutting sugar and I was quite radical about it but then after Christmas my weight started to creep back up and I realised I needed help. I had no idea what to do until someone told me about their MJ experience. For the first time ever I feel like it's possible that I will get to a healthy weight.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 23/05/2026 14:43

@MoneyJo Tell me about your sugar cutting. Was it just refined sugar or all sugar including fruit, lactose etc? I read Pure White & Deadly a few years ago but didn’t do much with that information! Interested in what you did and the effects!
