hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

Thank you @Beehivebabe good point.

@maybethisway it seems a lot of us haven't had bad side effects. You should be fine.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 14/05/2026 12:14

@maybethisway I did a bit of light swimming before MJ, but since starting I have started (and stuck to!) 5-6 exercise classes a week, weights (need to be more diligent, but 1-2 a week) and am on week 2 of none to run (like C25K but slower). I felt a bit chilly at first and sometimes get a bit constipated but nothing some kiwi fruit won’t resolve. Otherwise no negative side effects. It really depends on you, but most SE subside for most people as you get used to the drug. If you want to run, do it!

@MoneyJo I too am on a stall. Not sure if I am slacking a bit as the novelty wears off. I am resolving to crack down on the basics - either this will have an effect or I will be in the best possible position for a future bigger dose with the next pen. We will get there!

MoneyJo · 14/05/2026 13:30

We absolutely will @SmallTreeDeepRoots

FitHappens · 14/05/2026 23:03

8th injection for me tonight. I’ve done 4 on 2.5mg and now 4 on 3.75mg.

SW: 15 stone 13lbs
CW: 14 stone 3lbs

Feeling a bit deflated as haven’t lost anything in the last 10 days, but I know I’ve been in a calorie deficit and doing 10k+ steps every day. Hoping to see a difference on the scales soon… officially weigh day is in the morning and I’m so close to being under the 90kg mark… it’s like my body knows.

taratill · 13/05/2026 22:12

Hope you're feeling better now @ETPhoneHome19

@rockstarshoes I've been the same, I had a girls weekend in an AI hotel where I didn't hold back and then was in London for the BH as it was my son's birthday.

I'd slipped back into old habits (especially around alcohol) and whilst I hadn't actually gained weight I wasn't losing it either.

36 hours after taking the first increased dose to 3.75 I'm feeling the suppression again now that the upset tummy has finished and I'm feeling the thirst that I first had on 2.5 & freezing cold too so I'm hoping the scales start shifting again and I can resist the alcohol, although I do have another night out this weekend where I will struggle to avoid social drinking without a million and one questions!!!!

Well done on still losing weight after all of those events!

Feeling a lot better thank you, had some indigestion and nausea last 2 days but woken today feeling much better.

rockstarshoes · 15/05/2026 07:18

Sorry Taratil I quoted your post in error! I hope you’re feeling better!

1 measly pound this week bringing me to a total of 16 pounds!

I have done no exercise this week though other than my Pilates class, work has been a nightmare so sat at my desk for hours.
I will do better next week!

taratill · 15/05/2026 14:58

So interesting benefit of either MJ or weight loss is that my acid reflux has almost completely gone.

I know that this is a side effect for some so it is absolutely brilliant for me as before I started it was getting really debilitating to the point that I couldn't walk most of the time without heartburn and feeling sick.

Today I have walked 2 hours at a brisk pace with the dogs and no sign of the reflux.

That’s interesting. I’m suffering from terrible indigestion something I’ve never had before, as well as difficulties swallowing . Do you mind telling me how much you’ve lost and what your symptoms were before?

Hi sorry you are suffering so much.

I've lost just over a stone since the beginning of March but I noticed that the reflux/ indigestion systems that I was having ended almost immediately (before I had lost so much weight). I do have another 4 stone to go though to goal weight!

I was experiencing wind/ burps, frequently sick after eating especially at night and chest pains on any form of exercise including walking, also had the reflux cough. It was really getting me down.

I was taking Esomeprazole for it and now have stopped taking that and only very occasionally have to take Gaviscon when I eat too much.

I also have stopped having IBS symptoms that I used to get frequently too.

So for that alone, aside the weightloss, I think it's amazing.

Engineeredit · 16/05/2026 09:47

Are you using MJ?

taratill · 16/05/2026 09:55

Engineeredit · 16/05/2026 09:47

Are you using MJ?

Yes , sorry I should have been clearer.

taratill · 16/05/2026 09:56

So having plateaued for what felt like ages increasing to 3.75 has resulted in a 1.2 kg loss this week!

Seems that going up a level has worked for me.

SE have not been too bad at all, just felt really cold again like I did the first week or so, but i suppose it is really cold so that could be it!

Junmaro · 16/05/2026 15:26

I’ve just got back from a weeks holiday and not changed weight at all. I think that’s a huge result! I’ve never been on holiday and come back weighing the same as I did when I left.

i think it’s very easy to lose sight of the improvements already made. But thinking about it, how bloody marvellous to be able to have a week away where you drink and have treats (just not as many as you would have otherwise) and then pick up where you left off.

ShebaQueen · 16/05/2026 16:32

Well done to those who have lost and condolences to those who have stalled. I also stalled for a couple of weeks, but weighed today and have lost another 1kg, that's 11.5kg off in total. Delighted, and thankfully side effects on 5mg are starting to subside. Keep going everyone!

nickdrakeslovechild · 16/05/2026 18:33

Starting Weight 23rd March 196 Target Weight 125 Current Weight 170. Total loss 26lbs.
Just about to take my 9th dose, I've gone up to 5 as the food noise has been worse the last 2 weeks. I think I did 3.75 last week as managed to get an extra half dose out of the "golden dose"

Felt a lot more nauseous than before so not sure if that's because of the increased dose??
This is the first week that the weight loss has been noticeable which has made me so happy. I can also fit in a top I bought ages ago and could never get into.

Beehivebabe · 17/05/2026 12:40

Well done all on continuing weight loss and even if some weeks are a standstill it’s hopefully still a downward trend overall!
Taking my 12th jab today and after 3 weeks at 3.75 I’m going to do the full 5 today and hopefully will still get another jab out of the pen. This week I’ve noticed hunger and a bit of food interest so I think it’s time for me to go up. Currently 32lbs down. Loads to go haha.

ETPhoneHome19 · 18/05/2026 20:58

I’ve moved up to 5mg tonight, I’ve been using 3.75 out of a 5 pen and the results haven’t been amazing.
I’ve had 2 weeks away so I haven’t been fully on plan but I haven’t felt like it’s working for me with 3.75.
I had to use a syringe to get the 5 out as was the ‘GD’, there was actually 0.8 came out and I only needed 0.6, I have disposed of the remaining as I didn’t want to take too much.
I have 1 full 5mg pen in the fridge, will see how the next 2 weeks go and then order my next.

illsendansostotheworld · 19/05/2026 07:37

Picked up my 3rd pen yesterday- still on 2.5 but am microdosing from.a 5mg and l am 10.5kg down since 21st March.

I feel amazing!!

taratill · 19/05/2026 09:13

@Junmaro you did better than I did, when I got back from holiday I'd gained a few pounds but they've gone now. It is good to know we can get back on track.

@ShebaQueen the stalling and starting seems really random to me. No idea what's going on there. I do possibly make the mistake of weighing daily. It's the increased kilos that really astonish me, where on earth do they come from? I'm guessing it must be water weight for me but who knows!

@nickdrakeslovechild and @Beehivebabe those are amazing losses, I'm a bit jealous as I'm going much slower. 19lbs since the 9th March for me.

@ETPhoneHome19 hope you see better results from the 5mg.

@illsendansostotheworld that's an amazing loss and it's great that you are feeling great!

taratill · 19/05/2026 09:17

So how is everyone doing on the exercise front?

I'm really lagging with it and i wonder if that's why my loss is slower than others?

I used to be really active but I had a horrible ankle injury a few years ago, right at the end of covid lockdowns, which resulted in surgery and I've never been quite the same since having a metal ankle! This also coincided with massive weight gain for me.

I'm now trying to walk more but was struggling with reflux which now seems to have improved but previously I was running half marathons.

I have no issue getting loads of protein into my diet but I've not really started any weight training yet as i don't know where to start. I can't really afford a gym membership along side MJ so I need to find something I can do at home really.

ShebaQueen · 19/05/2026 09:52

Hi @taratill, it's hard when others are losing more quickly isn't it? I have a friend who is losing much faster than me, but we will all get there at our own pace I'm sure. I'm a weekly weigher, sometimes tempted to weigh more often, but try to resist in case I don't like what I see!
As for exercise, I really don't enjoy it, but have been forcing myself out for a walk every day, regardless of the weather. I only do 30mins and I walk as fast as I possibly can, enough to be puffing and red faced. I have found that a playlist helps and I am routine-driven by nature, so have tried to make it a habit, same time, same route and not think about it too much!
I also bought a kettlebell and have been doing some Youtube home workouts with it. I'm not very consistent though, and need to do better.
I am never sure if exercise helps with weightloss, but I do it to try to get fitter. Sounds like you were previously very fit and active, I'm sorry to hear about your ankle, it must be difficult.
And finally, regarding reflux, I'd say this is the first week since I started at end of February that I haven't taken any Gaviscon or Rennies! Have been relying heavily on both.

taratill · 19/05/2026 10:16

@ShebaQueen I did use Kettlebells years ago, I might take a look at that rather than free weights.

The current weather is not helping. It's so miserable for the time of year and I use any excuse not to go out in it. But it looks like the bank holiday weekend will be really hot! Also not great for exercise, as I end up red in the face.

Did anyone see that thread the other day in AIBU about WLI jabs where poster claimed never to have seen an obese person out walking? I was having a good chuckle about that. I don't think that people know what obese looks like. I'm a size 14/16 in clothes and I'm obese. Got another stone to lose before I hit my first goal of top of the overweight range!

Beehivebabe · 19/05/2026 11:20

@taratill thank you, my sw was 19st 13lb so I would expect to lose well in the first months as I have completely changed my eating habits. I was both a snacker and a big dinner finisher lol. I have no doubt it will slow down.
Re exercise I am walking everyday and doing small exercises at home, I don’t yet feel able to join a class or gym (actually don’t think I would join a gym tbh!). I was thinking of getting one of those walking plate things but I’m over the weight limit atm!

Moving up to 5mg is working well so far, I’ve felt little hunger since and sticking to portions. Last night I struggled to finish my evening meal.
No SE so far so fingers crossed it lasts. I’m pleased I went 2-3.75-5, I’m hoping this is what has helped with effects, doing it gradually

that's good news. I'm finding 3.75 is, at the moment, providing me with suppression. i do feel huger but I am full really quickly and am not finishing meals.

I am sure the gradual approach does help with SE. Long may it continue!
