hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

Ah @Teabing and @MoneyJo, I am pleased to read your posts as I will be starting my 3rd pen tomorrow and going up to 5. Am bracing myself for the return of the side effects I had in week 1, but also feel like I am in a good routine with healthy meals and exercise, so fingers crossed

MoneyJo · 23/04/2026 15:31

Routine sounds good @ShebaQueen I feel like that's one of the best things I've got out of this - different routine and change of thinking towards food.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 23/04/2026 15:40

SW 5/3 115.4
CW 23/4 105.8

Just finished my second pen and sticking with 2.5 for the next one. Weight loss is steady, exercise is going well and I’m feeling good. Onwards and downwards!

ShebaQueen · 23/04/2026 15:43

Totally agree @MoneyJo, I hardly recognise myself! Not sure I will ever enjoy exercise, but I get everything ready the night before and then I get up, go and get on with it without thinking too much - no excuses! Same with food, I don't let myself even consider chocolate or snacking. It helps that I am a creature of habit and love a routine, it's just that these days my habits are healthier.

Well done @SmallTreeDeepRoots, you're doing great! Weigh day for me tomorrow

rockstarshoes · 24/04/2026 23:32

Just checking in as I’ve had a couple of busy weeks!
6 weeks, 2 at 2.5, 2 at 3.75
11.5 pounds down!
i had an itch earlier & actually felt a hip bone! I’d forgotten I even had those! 🤣

ShebaQueen · 25/04/2026 07:20

Amazing progress @rockstarshoes, I am looking forward to finding my long lost hipbones!
I weighed yesterday and also took my first 5mg jab last night. I'm still not sure if I needed to increase, or whether continuing on 2.5 would have been better for me. Feeling cautiously ok, no side effects so far, although where I jabbed myself on my stomach hurts - first time I've had this and it's my 3rd pen, so I am used to jabbing - anyone else had this? Maybe I pressed too hard or something, but the jab site is really sore. No redness, rash or swelling, but hurts to touch.
Anyway my stats make me very happy - 9.2kg down in 2 months and I feel like I have started to make some really healthy choices in that time, this stuff is magic!
SW (27/2); 106.6kg
CW (25/4): 97.4kg
TW - not sure, but I think it might be a good motivator to have one and my supplier recommends it - what are others doing in that respect?

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 25/04/2026 08:32

Great going @ShebaQueen ! I’ve not got a hard and fast target. Just worked out the top of healthy BMI and trying to head there (a long way to go!). I mean it’s a vague destination and not a binding contract. I will review as I go along. Another thread recommended mini targets along the way so I’m doing that and celebrating small milestones along the way (BMI boundaries, landmark numbers in KG (like 100), historic weights for me (like weight at 20, weight when I first got pregnant etc.). I have 8 of these. But I am so far from healthy weight, that it’s a bit mythical and I have no idea what would be right for me.

Teabing · 25/04/2026 09:17

@ShebaQueen How are you post 5mg jab? I think it’s too much for me! Struggled to get breakfast and lunch down. Managed dinner and a large glass of wine which I can still taste post this morning’s workout. The thought of breakfast makes me nauseous 😖

ShebaQueen · 25/04/2026 09:36

Thanks @SmallTreeDeepRoots, I think I'll start doing something similar.
@Teabing I feel ok so far, I jabbed at 7.30 last night and have had breakfast already without a problem, the same breakfast I was having on 2.5 - 2 Weetabix and a banana plus a cup of tea. I expected to feel more suppression, but so far it feels the same as last week when I was on 2.5, maybe too soon to gauge? When did you jab?

Teabing · 25/04/2026 09:55

@ShebaQueen Jabbed at 3 on Thursday. Still struggling to eat my porridge. I’m usually ravenous after a run.

Beehivebabe · 25/04/2026 12:30

Hi all, weigh in this morning and 2 stone down. Very pleased to be going on holiday tonight with less weight lol.
I am going to jab my first 5 pen in a mo. I did think about doing 3.75 but might as well go for it and I will be 3 days late jabbing my next one so hopefully it will last! Well done everyone, it’s so nice to read positive stories!

ShebaQueen · 25/04/2026 12:55

Incredible result @Beehivebabe well done and welcome to the 5mg club with me and @Teabing! Enjoy your holiday

Beehivebabe · 25/04/2026 13:27

@ShebaQueen thank you!

MoneyJo · 25/04/2026 19:11

I'm in the 5mg club as of Thursday too. I wasn't sure it had made much difference, until today when I suddenly realised it was 1.30 and I hadn't eaten anything yet, nor did I particularly want to!

Teabing · 25/04/2026 23:03

Happy holidays @Beehivebabe

@MoneyJo We are 5mg twins.

@MoneyJo We are 5mg twins.

😊
I'm down another pound today. 1 stone 2 down since I started MJ but 2 and a half stone down exactly since I started last year with cutting out as much sugar as I could. Nobody has noticed but I do have another 6 stone to lose so I know it's the kitchen roll effect.

Scrabsqueak · 26/04/2026 09:18

Hi, wonder if I can jump on.
have my mj pen in fridge ready, but am starting to worry.
I had breast cancer 4 years ago, all clear now after op, chemo and radiotherapy. Now take Letrozole and will for another 6 years.
Its not contra indicated and have told med express, and given permission for them to contact my GP, but am just a bit worried…
Should I speak to my GP myself do you think? I’m keen to start but not sure if I’m not finding excuses to put it off…

MoneyJo · 26/04/2026 09:26

If I were you @Scrabsqueak I would start a new thread in this section to reach more people. Someone might have experience. It sounds like it's fine if it's not contraindicated though.

ShebaQueen · 26/04/2026 11:07

Best of luck @Scrabsqueak hopefully someone will be able to advise.
@MoneyJo I had never heard of the kitchen roll effect, but have googled it now and I like it a lot!
I'm still doing ok on 5mg, which is such a relief as was dreading the side effects returning. Still waiting to feel increased suppression, but based on comments from others, I'm expecting it to kick in later today/tomorrow.

MoneyJo · 26/04/2026 11:36

It's great, isn't it @ShebaQueen
I went up to 5 on Thurs and no side effects so far other than really no hunger! So hopefully you will be ok.

Junmaro · 26/04/2026 12:05

Hi Everyone

I’ve been lurking on this thread, having started in 9th March.

Had a bit of a fright with first injection and raging acid reflux/stomach cramps. They stopped really abruptly and haven’t come back since, touch wood. Fortunately. haven’t vomited or had any diarrhoea. Went down to just 15 clicks of a 2.5mg pen for my second dose and have been increasing at a snail’s pace. Did 35 clicks today😂.

But I’ve lost 17 pounds with another 24 to go. Can’t decide how much is the pen and how much is willpower, but it doesn’t feel at all difficult like previous weight loss has.

Best things for me have been massive decrease in desire for booze, chocolate and carbs. As an example I have genuinely enjoyed berries and kefir for breakfast - that wouldn’t have happened before! Had blood tests done recently and my Hba1c has dropped a couple of points which shows the effects in blood sugar even at micro doses(though I wasn’t in diabetic range anyway).

I've been using psyllium husk to keep things moving. Whilst it’s not that pleasant, it really works and is meant to be hugely beneficial for your gut microbiome.

5mg seems like a million miles away to me, but if I’m still losing, no point in increasing I guess. Keeps it cheap.

Has anyone experienced reemerging side effects with their dose increases? Just wondering if I’ll hit a tipping point at some stage with increasing dose.

JumpingJacks11 · 26/04/2026 12:21

Hi all,

I have jumped over from the April starters thread to see if anyone has gotten out the 5th (golden) dose on the wegovy pen or tried to do this? No1 on the April thread has gotten that far yet but I’m just wondering if it’s possible and what ppls experience of it has been. Thanks everyone :)

ShebaQueen · 26/04/2026 12:33

Hi @Junmaro, well done on your weight loss, that's amazing on such a low dose! I suffered from side effects on my first 2.5 dose, more or less identical to what you have described, plus headaches. Mine lasted the whole of the first week, to the point I was very anxious about jab 2. Thankfully I felt a lot better in week 2 and have been fine since, even after going up to 5mg this weekend (so far at least, touch wood!).
It's so difficult isn't it? I couldn't believe that other March starters felt absolutely fine when I felt so awful, I was googling ways to flush it out of my system, which of course you can't! It definitely affects everyone differently.
