hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

@ShebaQueen I’m quite impressed I was brave enough after the first week!

Based on my experience, I do think the weight loss is mediated in several ways. On my microdose, I don’t have major suppression which I experienced in the first week, but the cravings have gone making it so much easier to eat a healthy diet. I’m an intelligent woman, and yet I was always eating crap food because my intellect couldn’t overcome my hormones in food choices.

I also think there’s a bit of voodoo magic going on as well!

ShebaQueen · 26/04/2026 12:59

So true @Junmaro I am still furious with myself for overeating and getting my body into this state. I am educated and successful, hold down a senior role and am generally in control of my life, with one exception, I lost control over what I put in my mouth and it has been a problem for years. I'd been thinking about WLI for ages and am so glad I finally got started.
I also agree about the magic!

Hi all,

I have jumped over from the April starters thread to see if anyone has gotten out the 5th (golden) dose on the wegovy pen or tried to do this? No1 on the April thread has gotten that far yet but I’m just wondering if it’s possible and what ppls experience of it has been. Thanks everyone :)

I did it at the end of my first pen. Used a pair of pliers to force the pen to twist and got a whole 2.5 dose out.
I'm going to try with my current pen in a couple of weeks but I think that will be the end of them then.

taratill · 27/04/2026 19:21

I'm feeling a bit despondent. I've lost the lbs I gained on holiday last week but no more. So I've been the same or more now for 2 weeks. Really praying for a small further loss tomorrow.

It will be 3rd 2.5 mg from the second pen. I can't really go up as I'm in London for son's 20th birthday this bank holiday weekend and I can't afford to have side effects.

I do tend to get a fair bit of exhaustion on 2.5 so that does concern me a bit if I go up.

The week after maybe 3.5 if no loss.

Usernameismyname01 · 27/04/2026 19:35

I’ve lost 14lb in 8wks. I’m happy with that. Got my 5mg pen coming and I’m going to start on 3.75 I think

I've ordered my next pen as 5mg and am going to start at 3.75, just debating whether to try to do this from the final dose of the 2.5 and some of the golden dose for the 4th jab out of existing pen.

I've also lost approx a stone over 8 weeks so I'm doing similar to you. The only issue is that I'd actually lost that at 6 weeks then gained a bit on holiday and still at the same weight at 8 weeks as I was at 6! Well done on your loss.

MoneyJo · 27/04/2026 19:51

That's great @Usernameismyname01

Well done everyone. Truthfully these posts are getting me down a bit. I've lost about 8lbs in 2 months so 1lb a week on average. If that continues for a few years then I don't mind but it feels remarkably slow and im getting impatient. I was hoping to need to buy a few new bits for the summer a size down. Anyone else losing it very slowly?

CatLady93 · 28/04/2026 15:20

@Dontlletmedownbruce1lb a week is really solid, it can be so hard though can’t it seeing people online with these huge losses! Are you tracking what you’re eating at all?

I am convinced that there is an effect beyond calories in calories out (though that is still relevant too). Whilst my experience is opposite to yours, it demonstrates that the dosing schedule is just a general best fit across at population level and not necessarily a best fit for any given individual.

Maybe your current dose hasn’t yet reached the point where you get full efficacy. How much weight do you have to loose?

Also, take comfort from the plodders group who are loosing consistently albeit slowly. 1lb is not to be sniffed at!

I’ve just done my first dose of mj! I’ve got over 5 stone to lose really

I've just had my first dose of mj last Saturday and I have set to lose 6 stone but will see how I feel when I get there I may try and lose more.. At the moment extremely lethargic, full of acid reflux and not doing too much exercise as I went over on my ankle and it still hurts a week later.

Any advice on other exercise I can do until the ankle improves would be greatly appreciated.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 28/04/2026 16:16

Thanks @CatLady93 and @Junmaro I'm trying to track, sometimes forgetting but mostly doing it. I still crave a bit and have an appt next week with GP as I also need bloods for other meds I'm on. I'm on ozempic and decided not to increase the dose last month so maybe it's time. I go to a weigh in clinic weekly and they said if I'm losing at all to keep the dose low as I need to adapt appetite and lifestyle. I have a few stone to lose around 3 to be ideal weight but I'd settle for 2.5. I'm trying not to get hung up on numbers cos I get stressed about it so some weeks I don't look at the scales and am simply told if I'm up or down or whatever. Then some weeks I want to know. I absolutely couldn't do this alone, thank god for modern medicine.

Hi doing a check in so I can keep accountability!

Starting Weight 23rd March 196 Target Weight 125 Current Weight 176. Total loss 20lbs on 2.5.

First few weeks were great for loss but it's massively slowed down. I am losing about 2lbs a week now which would be great except that I am only eating about 900 calories a day. No carbs, no UHP just berries, apples, fat free greek high protein yogurt and salads with lean chicken or tuna! I don't want anything stodgy or carbs, such a weird feeling but also a bit of a shock how little food I am going to be able to eat at the end of the weight loss side of things.

I do at least 10,000 steps a day and spend at least 4 hours a day at the allotment digging and squatting down.

I did my check it with Bolt and it has suggested moving up to 5 so will see what changes that makes.

ShebaQueen · Yesterday 13:54

Hi to other members of the 5mg club, how are you getting on? I can honestly say that on day 5 of jab 1, I haven't noticed any difference at all from 2.5 and I'm thinking maybe I didn't need to go up. I had pretty good suppression and I'd settled into about a 1kg a week loss which was happy with, and I'd be surprised if I lose more than that this week. On the plus side I had no side effects. I'll finish this pen and see how it goes, but maybe I should go back down to 2.5, either by ordering that dose, or by clicks.
