February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

Good morning! I’m 4 days after the jab and woke up at 5am with a bad tummy! I’ve been ok since though. I’m down to 13st 11.2 which is a loss of 17.6lbs so far.
Glad you’ve not felt ill this week @Crossfitgirl

RedApplePie · 24/03/2026 16:36

Had a little three pound whoosh this week, so that’s been a nice boost. Don’t think I’ve ever had a whoosh before! That also brings me to 17.6 cookiedough!

RedApplePie · 24/03/2026 16:42

Also wanted to say that I’ve been listening to two books on my commute and I’d really recommend them. One is called Weightless and the other is The Ozempic Effect (also relevant to MJ). Both by Endocrinologists and so compassionate with lots of tips of how best to make a GLP1 really work for you. My pharmacist recommended them initially and said they really made her think about weight stigma and how people with obesity had been failed by medicine.

Perserverancepayoffplease · 25/03/2026 16:20

I feel really horrible today. Been sick, upset tummy. Cramping pains, bloated nauseous...the full monty. Jabbed on Sunday so I'm sure uts sude effects. Yuk.
No weight loss for two weeks either

Week 6. Scales at 14.4 this morning. Which is a small miracle as I had two nights out this week. I am now officially overweight, hallelujah. Still feeling good but have gone from feeling boiling hot all the time to having cold hands and feet! I can live with that.

Week 7. Scales at 14.2. Happy with a 2lb loss a week so going to order 0.5 again. Hands and feet still absolutely freezing. Been lovely digging a few clothes out the wardrobe that now fit and look good on. I’m a third of the way to target.

RedApplePie · 26/03/2026 14:38

Had my review today, 17lbs in 8 weeks so continuing on 2.5 for another month. Quite happy with that, feels like a sensible rate for now.

TwoNicePuppies · 26/03/2026 18:36

Is anyone ordering through Curely? A video consultation is needed before first order, just wondering what they ask & how often they need to do it. Other companies we’ve ordered with just asked for a video to be uploaded.

Oh no, I hope it calms down. I think you had the same the week before, didn't you? Definitely sounds like side effects. I've barely had any significant loss either, but my clothes do seem to fit ever so slightly better round my tummy, so I'm hoping body composition is changing a bit even if weight isn't. Can you drop the dose down slightly by counting clicks, to try and control the side effects a bit?

@soupmaker that's good going, so about a kilo a week? I'm debating whether to go up to 0.5 or not, I did 6 weeks on 0.25 and had slow losses, then I've gone up to about 0.35 ish for the past 2 weeks but i did have unpleasant side effects. I could easily carry on with around this sort of dose by click counting, and stretch it out for 6 weeks or so.

soupmaker · 26/03/2026 21:08

@Crossfitgirl Yes, on average a kilo off a week. That’s more than enough for me. Want to lose slow so I change my habits as I go. I’ve found 0.5 fine, just very cold hands and feet. I’m sticking with that for my next pen. I’m eating so much less and snacking has stopped bar a date or two with a cup of tea. Hope the side effect subside for you soon.

Crossfitgirl · 27/03/2026 09:26

Is anyone else feeling really tired? I'm sure it's the jabs that are making me feel this way. If so, has getting more sleep helped?
Sounds obvious I guess, but I'm so knackered at the moment but it could also be other things like stress and kids getting up super early that's making me feel tired.
I'm just exhausted and "meh" though.
Appetite has gone, I just cannot for the life of me wake up in a morning either I'm so groggy and grumpy.

WhoInvitedHer · 27/03/2026 10:12

When I started Wegovy the only significant side effect for me was extreme tiredness. I could hardly keep my eyes open. 7 weeks in and it has gradually resolved.

TheEgg2 · 27/03/2026 10:17

I’ve been constantly knackered since starting the jabs and “fatigue” is a listed side effect. If you think about it, you’re putting less fuel in your body so it’s going to conserve your energy and “encourage” you to rest. I’m 7.5 weeks in and I’m definitely adjusting to it better now. Do find myself going to bed earlier and it does seem to help.

TheEgg2 · 27/03/2026 10:23

I spent yesterday pm clothes shopping on holiday and I’m definitely starting to change shape. I’m now a size 14 on top and the well known size 17 on the bottom! I can absolutely take being in between sizes. And the side effects bar cold hands, feet and tiredness are gone, hurrah! I am able to eat and drink more (alcohol) but still only need to eat a little twice a day and not as constipated. Up to 5mg next month but will be taking 2.5 mg every 7 rather than 8/9 days to save money so should last me 9-10 weeks.

Diddlydoowap · 27/03/2026 10:24

Jab 6 this morning so 5 weeks in and I have lost 10lb which I'm pleased with. But I plateaued this week so I took 5mg, up from 3.75. When I started MJ I was amazed that people could be taking doses 5x what I was having, as I was seeing such consistent losses but I'm guessing we become resistant to it? My first week at 3.75 was brilliant, the second week felt like it was all willpower and no suppression (and no loss!) Though I should be grateful for no side effects beyond feeling cold. I'm so sorry to those of you suffering

Cookiedough123 · 28/03/2026 09:38

Did jab 7 yesterday and this morning my weight was 13st 9.4 so my total loss is 19.4lbs. I am feeling much better in my clothes in fact a lot are fitting when they didn’t only 7 weeks ago. I was struggling with running the first month as my legs felt so heavy but that seems to have passed now and I am running at a better pace and my legs aren’t feeling like they don’t work!
I have also had issues with tiredness but that could also be related to a 10 month old who doesn’t sleep! I feel much better when I remember to take my daily multivitamin and can feel a difference if I have missed a few days.

Crossfitgirl · 28/03/2026 11:13

We are heading off on our weekend away, and I had my pen delivered a few days early so I can take it the evening we get home.

I have found the most genius hiding place in the fridge. DH is extremely observant, cooks a lot and often re-arranges the fridge, throws stuff away etc. and so I needed something normal he won't take notice of, and nothing wrapped like food in case he chucked it!

We had a bag of carrots in the bottom drawer, and sometimes I put kitchen paper in the bag with them to stop the condensation making them soggy and going off quicker. So I've wrapped my pen haphazardly in kitchen paper and shoved it in the carrot bag. I'll whip it out as soon as we arrive home and leave the kitchen paper in! 😂

I've brought meal replacement drinks with me so I don't get awful stomach cramps and diarrhea with all the deep fried food that is on site (We're staying in a theme park), brought fruit, oat bars and even bought a new portable blender to make a smoothie at breakfast!

@Crossfitgirl , seems like you have thought it through and planned ahead for your time away. Have a good time.

My side effects of bubbly feeling tummy and feeling cold is much better...but the tiredness!! I feel so tired all the time. I haven't been consistent with my minimum 10k steps/a day. I am sleeping early but then waking at 2am (pain..post surgery). I started multivitamins properly this past week.

Haven't lost any weight in the last couple of weeks. Still on MJ 2.5mg with good appetite suppression, no food noise and early satiety but I have regained my taste buds! Hurrah. Food actually has some taste.

Ahh it sounds like things are settling enough for you to really get into it now. Well besides the fatigue. It's nice to get some taste buds back! Since increasing slightly, I've barely wanted to eat at all. I've also not really lost anything for the past couple of weeks, but I've also been exhausted and barely exercised and I think it definitely contributes.

Hopefully enjoying food a bit more will help with having a bit more energy for the steps.

I had an earlier than usual night last night and do feel better today.

I’m almost at the end of my second pen and need to decide if I’m going to move up to 5mg. I’m definitely not experiencing the same appetite suppression that I was and my weight loss has stalled. I’d really like to lose another stone but I’m a bit scared of side effects at the next dose. In month one I had no side effects until the last dose when I had horrible diarrhoea for about 36 hours. Ever since, I have felt a bit ropey after taking the dose and although I haven’t had more diarrhoea I had gone the other way and now suffering from constipation instead. I’m also really struggling with a dry mouth at night. I am drinking lots of water and it doesn’t bother me during the day which is weird.

I see that some of you have done 3.75 mg instead, are you still injecting every 7 days at that level? In which case is the pen ok to use for 6 weeks? Or are you injecting every 5 days instead?

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 28/03/2026 15:49

Week 5 weigh in and lost another 3lb; 2 more and I’ll have lost a stone. Am doing this month on 2.5 MJ then stopping. This was never going to be long term for me, I can’t afford it long term, it was to teach my head that I can eat less (I’ve been doing slimfast). My 4th dose wasn’t a full dose because when I first used the first pen I misunderstood how to do that little check and basically sprayed a whole dose into the air. (What a dick). So I had a week where I definitely felt like it had worn off; however I was able to have a word with myself and not eat because I was tired / bored / driving / having a cup of tea and it’s nice to have something to dunk / its minstrels/ mini eggs for gods sake (all reasons I eat crap normally!). Obviously I knew I was doing another month which did focus the mind too. It’s still going to take me months to lose enough and I can afford one more month if needed but I’m keeping it in reserve. It’s still a total secret too. Delivered to work, first dose used immediately then hidden in a locked cupboard at work that only I access.

Rosetime · 28/03/2026 20:37

Just had a massive food binge! I wasn't even hungry. My stomach hurts because it feels so tight. I had more than i have eaten in one sitting since starting MJ but less than i would have had before Mounjaro.

I also had chocolate and wine in addition to the food. Why? I wasn't even hungry. Eating all that was uncomfortable but i still went on..!

I planned to loose slowly on Mj till i get to target weight, develop new habits, maintain on new target for a few months then stop Mj. Now i am worried that i may always need to be on it. It's the financial commitment that causes the worry.

Rosetime · 28/03/2026 20:39

And this on the back of not losing any weight for 2 weeks..!

Crossfitgirl · 28/03/2026 21:27

@ASkarsMissus I plan to use my next pen for 6 weeks, I'm not too fussed about leaving it out of the fridge an extra 2 weeks (I'm on wegovy) I think medication expiry times are to do with reduced potency rather than anything going bad as such. Are you keeping it in the fridge?

@Nocameltoeleggingsplease please don't be too hard on yourself. We all have days like that, and I can absolutely relate. The long term just doesn't register for me in the moment and so many times I've found myself eating sweet things and not being able to stop, despite knowing I should.
I find I crave more when I'm tired, when I'm sad, or when I'm due on my period. Is there anything that made you want to eat? You said you weren't even hungry so recognising what you were seeking when you had it is a good start. The jabs have helped me pause before I eat and think about why I'm eating. I couldn't do that before. I often still have whatever it is that I've fancied, but it's helpful to start thinking about what else could give you what you need. For example if I've had a crappy day, I try think well I might feel good eating now, but I'll feel even more crap after. And try think of something you can still do to soothe yourself without eating.

I have occasionally had a lovely long shower (my relaxing thing) and forgotten all about the craving.

do people actually take the ‘5th golden’ dose of MJ? How do you do it? My provider sent me extra needles ..

ASkarsMissus · 28/03/2026 21:44

@Crossfitgirl thanks, that’s helpful to know. I don’t keep it in the fridge after the first dose. Will have a think about whether to go up or not.
